This is the most delicious Persian food I've ever had. I was amazed by the deliciousness with every bite. The price is a bit steep for a student, but I was truly satisfied with one meal.

Really nice Persian food. Was visiting Frankfurt for couple of days and tried Koobideh which was so tasty.

I would like to complain about my visit to your restaurant on [insert date]. I went to eat with friends, but unfortunately, our experience was anything but satisfactory. First of all, the staff – especially one female staff member – were very unfriendly. She repeatedly looked at my companion rudely and made us feel unwelcome. The advice and service were also very unpleasant: • They repeatedly tried to push a more expensive wine on us, even though I had specifically ordered the Riesling I wanted. • They also tried to force-feed us an appetizer, even though we clearly stated that we didn't want one. Furthermore, the food was not of the expected quality. It was neither tasty nor digestible – by the end of the evening, both my companion and I had severe stomach aches. Overall, the visit was a complete disappointment for us and anything but a pleasant experience. I sincerely hope that you take this feedback seriously and take appropriate measures so that future guests don't have to go through the same experience.

I don't understand the positive reviews! To my taste, and I'm a foodie who ate in restaurants all over the world; the meat and chicken had a funny smell and taste!! Other than that the appetizer and the rice were really good, but it can't outweigh the bad meat unfortunately

The barg kebab and chicken kebab were tough. The portion of dill rice with broad beans was small for one person. The sour kebab was also tough. Overall, the quality of the kebabs was low.

The best Iranian restaurant in Europe, even better than Iranian restaurants in Kuwait. I am one of the people who love Iranian food. Today I have come to love Frankfurt because of the presence of this restaurant. The food is delicious. The staff are friendly, respectful, and cooperative. I highly recommend it. Overall, the best Persian restaurant I've ever been to, anywhere in the world. I'm Persian myself so take it as high praise, this place is highly recommended. - food: was great. The portions are generous and worth the price, the food was spiced perfectly, prepared and cooked perfectly, had the appropriate side, and I personally could not find a single issue with it. - dessert: really nice selection, amazing baklava and icecream. - drinks: really good selection, very delicious. Good alcoholic and non-alcoholic selection. - staff: incredibly nice and polite, so helpful with translating the german bits of the menu and so on. - atmosphere: the decorations are gorgeous, the environment is clean and well kept, there's soft persian music in the background at a very appropriate volume. Overall very friendly and cozy. Highly recommended. Can't stress it enough.

Update: We went there again, and it was outstanding! The chef's plate was super delicious, and this time they served it with a sauce to make it less dry. We were absolutely thrilled!

Great food, extremely respectful customer service, and a pleasant atmosphere!

Food was great. Portions were huge. My teenager and I could have easily split any of the two kebab platters. The kebabs were the length of my forearm. Chicken and beef kebabs were both flavorful and moist, but the chicken was the star.

The food took a lot to come, while It had a lot oíl. The worst Happened when i wanted to pay with card, the person reacted quite aggressively pointing to a paper at the Door, saying that card payments were allowed only after 55 eur! When my plate was 16 eur. When I asked for the reason for such a high limit, he mentioned that it was the city guidance (which has nothing to do). Quite bad attitude in my opinion.

I was here recently. Honestly, they serve exactly what they serve in Iran. I ordered koobide, and it transported me to the world of Tehran for a few minutes. The staff was very polite and engaging, and the food was perfect. I highly recommend it. They also offer delicious Persian ice cream.

We ordered "Journey to the Orient" for two people. The appetizer platter was extremely delicious. The main course platter was equally delicious, and a mixed dessert platter with saffron ice cream and glass noodle ice cream...plus a bottle of white wine...great service included. This was my second visit after a few years, and I was genuinely impressed this time. It’s clear they’ve put effort into improving their quality, and because of that, I’ll definitely be coming back more often. The staff are polite, very helpful, and surprisingly fast, whether it’s taking your order or serving your food, everything moves efficiently. One highlight for me was their homemade Doogh (a traditional yogurt drink with herbs, ice, and water); the taste was truly refreshing and well-balanced. They do offer some outdoor seating, though it’s limited to a few tables on the sidewalk, they don’t have a garden area. If you’re interested in trying Iranian cuisine, this is definitely a place worth visiting.

We visited on a Saturday evening and were lucky to get a table, as the restaurant was quite full. The atmosphere was warm and lively, with guests enjoying their meals and conversations, creating a very pleasant vibe. The service was very friendly, polite, and attentive throughout the evening, without being intrusive. The food was excellent. We started with Dolmeh-Barg (stuffed grape leaves), which were fresh and full of flavor. For the main dishes, we had Djudje Kabab (chicken, marinated in a saffron-yogurt sauce) grilled to perfection, with a rich walnut-pomegranate sauce, and Baghali Polo Ba Morgh, with its aromatic dill-saffron rice and juicy chicken, served in its own flavorful sauce. Both rice sides were perfectly cooked and flavorful and the sauces were particularly delicious. The portions were generous, as you can see on the plates. Even though we were already quite full, we didn’t want to miss out on the persian ice cream, so we shared a Bastani Akbar Maschti. Definitely a great choice. It was our first time trying this combination of vanilla, saffron, pistachios and rose water and we absolutely loved it. We also enjoyed traditional teas (Chai Nana and Chai Samawar). Overall, we were very satisfied with both the flavors and the portion sizes. We had a lovely dinner and would happily return.

Today was our first time at Zarathustra in Frankfurt. Unfortunately, the grilled meat was very disappointing. The grilled chicken breast was tasteless. The grilled minced veal wasn't cooked well and left an unpleasant aftertaste. The lamb loin fillet tasted just as bad. The appetizers, such as the yogurt mixes, were very good. Torschi, on the other hand (vegetables marinated in vinegar), was absolutely poorly prepared. The color and taste weren't even like store-bought jars. Overall, I have to give it 1 star. The 4.8 rating on Google sounds very dubious to me. We won't try it again.

We visited this restaurant for the first time today, as we usually eat at his brother's restaurant. Unfortunately, the difference was noticeable in both the service and the food. The atmosphere was very cold. Particularly unpleasant was a young employee who went outside several times to smoke and then immediately returned to serving guests without washing his hands. I briefly considered confronting him about it, but decided I'd stick it out, but it was still an absolute no-go for me. The food also disappointed me. The dogh was completely tasteless, and overall, I couldn't enjoy my meal at all. His brother's restaurant often offers a small appetizer like ash or soup, and after the meal, tea or halva is offered—unfortunately, nothing here. It was okay for a one-time visit, but we definitely won't be coming back. It's a shame, because we had expected much more based on our good experiences at the other restaurant, especially since Mr. Pouria has been advertising this branch a lot on Instagram. It's a real shame.

Superb every time. It's the only Persian restaurant I've been to that offers Kabab Torsch, made with pomegranate sauce. The flavour is great but the intensity builds up in your mouth, so it's best to avoid eating a whole one by yourself. I love it anyway!

The food is outstanding, the service incredibly friendly, and I especially recommend the Djudje Soltani with its delicious Dough (Persian ayran with mint) as a drink. Bread and a small appetizer plate were on the house. Absolutely fantastic value for money! Highly recommended if you're in Frankfurt 💕

We ordered four dishes. The chicken kebab was really good, tender meat and very delicious. The kashke bademjan and rice also had a nice taste. However, I wasn’t satisfied with the eggplant and split pea stew (gheimeh bademjan). The meat was tough and seemed either not fresh or maybe from an old cow. There was only a tinyyyy piece of eggplant in it, mostly just seeds. The stew could have had better seasoning, maybe some cinnamon and a touch of cardamom. My friend ordered ratatouille. The potatoes were undercooked, and she said the whole dish tasted like pasta (better seasoning). I told the waiter, and they did take note of it. But anyway we paid for the food. Also, the plates looked very worn out, with faded colors. Out of respect for the customers, I think it’s time to replace them.

We ordered food worth €98 for 3 people. But the waiter gave us a small box containing half an onion, 2 or 3 olives and some greens. I asked him to give something different for each person. He started arguing and refused saying this was for 3 people. He started to cut off half an onion with his dirty hands and put the onion into 3 small sauce boxes, which is absolutely not acceptable. We will not order from this restaurant again

Food was great, definitely again!

It was my first time eating Persian food and I was pleasantly surprised. As a starter there were various small portions that tasted delicious. Each portion had its own delicious taste. I've never tried such different spices. The main course of lamb skewer and rice was also delicious, but I found the starter by far the best. I can highly recommend the Iranian Cay to everyone.

Unfortunately, I have to correct: We were there with 3 people on March 31, 2025: The food was too salty throughout, the cook probably lost the salt shaker - a shame. (leg of lamb, kebab).

The service is unfriendly, disorganized and very inattentive. When having a meal with several courses in a large group, it is to be expected in a good restaurant that empty glasses, bottles or appetizer plates will be cleared away in between and that the guest will always be looked after. Absolutely not. Hospitality is non-existent here. Food ok. Not recommended.

Food is ok, service is really bad. Tables are not cleared, you are not asked if you need anything else, nothing like that. We had to ask the waiters several times for drinks or cutlery. As if they didn't want to serve us. We definitely won't visit this restaurant again. I would also recommend that everyone spend their money in a restaurant where they feel comfortable, not here. We had already dined at Zarathustra's some time ago and were very satisfied. For this reason, we suggested this restaurant to our guests from Hamburg. We were there with a group of 22 people and had made reservations days before. Unfortunately, we had the impression that the service wasn't really prepared for so many people. After we ordered and received the first drinks and appetizers, we had to constantly look for service to order more drinks. Empty glasses and appetizer plates were only put away upon request. The friendliness of the service staff also decreased over time. After paying the bill, which was not too small, we asked for a few glasses of tea, as we know from many other oriental restaurants that the tea is distributed on the house. When asked, the waiter replied, visibly annoyed, that he had to top the tea. The sound plays the music. The food this time wasn't particularly outstanding, as we expected. The meat skewers smelled very strong this time and for some reason, the chef had mixed rose water into the rice, which doesn't go down well with everyone since rose water is usually found in desserts. The starter was good. After this experience we probably won't come back to Zarathustra.
