Zarathustra in Frankfurt am Main

Good morning, I had an exceptional lunch experience here. The staff was very friendly and respectful. I highly recommend this place! If I come back to Frankfurt, I will definitely stay there again.

I came from Strasbourg to Frankfurt and came to this restaurant for lunch. The dishes here were of excellent quality. The ambiance of the restaurant was very warm and pleasant, and I really enjoyed my meal.

We ordered food worth €98 for 3 people. But the waiter gave us a small box containing half an onion, 2 or 3 olives and some greens. I asked him to give something different for each person. He started arguing and refused saying this was for 3 people. He started to cut off half an onion with his dirty hands and put the onion into 3 small sauce boxes, which is absolutely not acceptable. We will not order from this restaurant again

The atmosphere in the restaurant is excellent, the starter is excellent, the main course is unique and the dessert after the meal is even better. Our choice will definitely always be Zarathusht restaurant.

The food was fantastic! The service was phenomenal and the ambience was outstanding. And now I'll tell you in my own words: The food is “ultra” delicious, you feel very comfortable and you can end the evening here at any time. Just do it!

It was my first time eating Persian food and I was pleasantly surprised. As a starter there were various small portions that tasted delicious. Each portion had its own delicious taste. I've never tried such different spices. The main course of lamb skewer and rice was also delicious, but I found the starter by far the best. I can highly recommend the Iranian Cay to everyone.

The food was delicious and came quickly. Excellent staff. It's a few hundred kilometers from Stade to here, but it was worth it.

Unfortunately, I have to correct: We were there with 3 people on March 31, 2025: The food was too salty throughout, the cook probably lost the salt shaker - a shame. (leg of lamb, kebab).

In short: food good. Service miserable. After paying over €800, we ordered 4 more teas. Of course, we were also charged for these. Because of this impudence, unfortunately there is only one star overall.

The service is unfriendly, disorganized and very inattentive. When having a meal with several courses in a large group, it is to be expected in a good restaurant that empty glasses, bottles or appetizer plates will be cleared away in between and that the guest will always be looked after. Absolutely not. Hospitality is non-existent here. Food ok. Not recommended.

Food is ok, service is really bad. Tables are not cleared, you are not asked if you need anything else, nothing like that. We had to ask the waiters several times for drinks or cutlery. As if they didn't want to serve us. We definitely won't visit this restaurant again. I would also recommend that everyone spend their money in a restaurant where they feel comfortable, not here. Be careful, lots of fake reviews!

We had already dined at Zarathustra's some time ago and were very satisfied. For this reason, we suggested this restaurant to our guests from Hamburg. We were there with a group of 22 people and had made reservations days before. Unfortunately, we had the impression that the service wasn't really prepared for so many people. After we ordered and received the first drinks and appetizers, we had to constantly look for service to order more drinks. Empty glasses and appetizer plates were only put away upon request. The friendliness of the service staff also decreased over time. After paying the bill, which was not too small, we asked for a few glasses of tea, as we know from many other oriental restaurants that the tea is distributed on the house. When asked, the waiter replied, visibly annoyed, that he had to top the tea. The sound plays the music. The food this time wasn't particularly outstanding, as we expected. The meat skewers smelled very strong this time and for some reason, the chef had mixed rose water into the rice, which doesn't go down well with everyone since rose water is usually found in desserts. The starter was good. After this experience we probably won't come back to Zarathustra.

The food was simply fantastic. I tried the classic Persian dish. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The prices were absolutely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. It is definitely a place to visit again to enjoy delicious Persian cuisine.

An outstanding and extremely hospitable service, as befits Iranian culture. I chose the chef's plate, which exceeded my expectations. The salad awakened feelings of home and brought back memories from far away. The meat is buttery tender and the rice is delicately aromatic. Even the tea, refined with saffron rock candy, was a treat in itself.
Without a doubt the best Persian restaurant in the area. Generous portions, a fair price-performance ratio and an authentic atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home.

Once and never again! We had ordered ghorme sabzi, a soup and 2 kubideh, the soup was so oversalted, the rice was a disaster with no salt and no butter, tasteless where was the famous basmati rice? And forgot cutlery. People, when you order something to eat and pick it up, you can assume that you don't have any cutlery. We had to eat with our hands! I don't really give reviews, but it was really too much, it didn't taste anything, it was a complete disaster

Well, I'm not a fan of exercise at all, but in Zartosht Restaurant I got such good conditions and delicious food even though I'm a chef myself and have tried over 30 restaurants. The hype surrounding the food is not entirely understandable. When it comes to various starters, you have to avoid the ones with walnuts because they are old and not so healthy. The best is the one where all the vegetables are finely diced. No. 103 Starter number 100 works. In the main courses there is too much rice, and the yellow stripe in the middle of the rice semicircle has nothing in common with saffron and its aroma, only the color that the saffron is supposed to provide. Saffron is also expensive, that's why. The music is also annoying because it gets on your nerves, especially in the right part of the restaurant when you come in. The staff constantly asks if everything is OK, which doesn't make the food any better, and that's annoying because they can't make any improvements. You can go there, but your expectations shouldn't be too high. The best approach if you are interested in Persian cuisine is to go there more often and carefully try your way through the menu, or to try the other two Persian restaurants in Frankfurt

Disappointing experience – families not welcome! We had reserved a table by phone, but when we arrived the owner refused to seat us and preferred to give the table to other guests. His reasoning? He doesn't want children in the restaurant. But that's not all - he also believed that families with children ordered less and it was more profitable for him to give the table to other guests. This greedy and discriminatory attitude is absolutely unacceptable! If we had known this beforehand, we would have saved ourselves the trip. Families are obviously not welcome here. Very disappointing and definitely not recommended!

Wir hatten telefonisch einen Tisch reserviert, doch als wir ankamen, verweigerte uns der Besitzer einen Platz und vergab den Tisch lieber an andere Gäste. Seine Begründung? Er möchte keine Kinder im Restaurant haben. Doch nicht nur das – er war zudem der Meinung, dass Familien mit Kindern weniger bestellen und es für ihn profitabler sei, den Tisch an andere Gäste zu vergeben. Diese gierige und diskriminierende Haltung ist absolut inakzeptabel! Hätten wir das vorher gewusst, hätten wir uns den Weg gespart. Familien sind hier offensichtlich unerwünscht. Sehr enttäuschend und definitiv nicht zu empfehlen!

We had a very nice Valentine's Day meal. The meal order was mixed up, but that was corrected immediately. One star deduction for my main course: The sauce was so boiling hot that I burned my lips and the inside of my mouth.

I've ordered Koobide and Mast Khiar. It was just fantastic. The Food, Service and a very friendly waiter. Top notch.

Very good food. Very slooooooow service, table next to us came 30 min after us, they order exactly same as our food, they received their food 15 min earlier than as. For me even if the food is good, I won’t come back for this service. The food is very excellent. The service is deliberately slow. At the table next to us, people of their same nationality came half an hour after us. They ordered the exact same dishes. They received their orders a quarter of an hour before us. For me, I will not repeat the visit as long as people other than their nationality are treated in this way. For your information, the food is excellent.

We were visiting from Vancouver, Canada. After weeks of traveling we missed a nice comforting persian food. This place exceeded our expectations!! The staff were extremely welcoming and pleasant. The quality (freshness, cleanliness and taste) of the food was beyond amazing. In Vancouver we have a very large community of iranians so we have tried MANY persian restaurants, but Zarathustra really impressed us in every way. Highly recommended!

The food was tasty and the service was good. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, which made the visit pleasant. However, there are a few points that marred the experience. The tables in front of the bar are uncomfortable, and the presentation of the salads directly on the bar bench looks messy and uninviting. Also, the waiters kept having to reach over my table to get salads and drinks from the bar bench, which was a bit annoying.

This is hands down one of my favourite restaurants in Frankfurt. I had the chef’s platter, and while it’s a big portion for one person, it was absolutely delicious. I’ve been here a few times, and the service is always spot on – the waiters are super friendly and make you feel welcome every time. The rice is honestly perfect, and the meat is so tender it melts in your mouth. If you’re a fan of Persian food, this place is a no-brainer. 10/10 – highly recommend!

Giant plates with very nice food.

Unfortunately the service is overwhelmed. Our food arrived at the table 1.5 hours late and in the end not right. That's very disgraceful. It wasn't particularly busy either. Kish is 10 times busier, but when it's packed you wait a maximum of 45 minutes for your food. On average more like 25 minutes. If I compare it, it's a no go here. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

The two of us were in Zarathustra and we were thrilled! We already know the “partner restaurant”, but there is no comparison. The food in both restaurants is very good and authentic, but in Zarathustra there is simply a lot more peace and comfort, and sitting is much more pleasant. The service is very friendly and attentive. You feel very comfortable here and very welcome as a guest. We'll definitely be back!

1-The portion of rice could be bigger. 2-Also, it was expected to have the whole grilled tomato not just half of it. 3-The lemon was missing beside the Kebab dishes.

Unfortunately, this is the second time I've had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. This time I was invited to a birthday dinner with some friends, so I went again. The service seemed a bit disoriented and seemed to work off the guests rather than really respond to their needs. When one of our friends couldn't eat her food because it tasted very strange - which we could confirm as we also tried it and couldn't understand the taste - the waitress showed no insight and insisted that no alternative dish could be offered. So the almost untouched food went back to the kitchen and was still billed for. My own dish wasn't particularly good either, but after my friend was treated so badly, I didn't want to complain any further so as not to spoil her birthday party - especially since I didn't expect my complaint to be taken into account anyway. I am well versed in Persian cuisine and appreciate their polite manner, but here there seems to be a lack of both culinary skill and service understanding. That's really a shame.

We opted for the tasting menu, and every bite was a revelation. If you're looking for a special night out in Frankfurt, look no further than Zarathustra. Five stars isn't enough - we'd give it ten stars if we could! Highly, highly recommended!

People don't sit at the table according to their clothes, the staff don't work with their heads and the food comes very late, we waited about 45 minutes for the main course and the food went to the tables that came before us.

I can recommend this restaurant with the best of conscience and have eaten by far the best Iranian food here at Zarathustra!

The food here is great. I usually get Koobideh with Zereshk polo (as in the picture). Prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. The owner (Hadi) always greets us when he is there and the staff are very friendly. Highly recommend.

I have visited many Iranian restaurants in Europe and I always order Koubideh and Djodje Kabab. Comparably, the taste of the food in this restaurant was not particularly bad, but it wasn't perfect either. On the other hand, the portion size was one of the largest.

The food is excellent. Very good price-quality ratio. Friendly staff. Nice dining table chairs, with thick padding, which you can sit on for a long time (without hurting your butt)
