I just picked up a dinner buffet from Xiao for €6.90 at Too Good To Go. A special feature of the evening buffet is that you can usually fill the dishes into the box yourself. However, that wasn't the case when I got there, everything had already been put away and instead I was offered ready-made boxes that didn't really look appetizing. That's not ideal if you've driven an extra 20 minutes to get there. Not cool, Xiao.

This was our second time at Xiao and to be honest it was a bit sobering. The prices are quite high and the selection is average, I would say. The grill buffet was good, the sushi selection was rather manageable, and the finished, warm food was not at least actually Chinese. I don't want to complain about the selection at the grill buffet, but you could tell that you were under a lot of stress. The vegetables were very raw but the fish and meat were well fried. The sushi buffet was full but there wasn't really much different. There were perhaps 5 or 6 different ready-made dishes that you would at least classify as Asian cuisine, but there were plenty of European dishes. At the top, chicken nuggets and fries but also pasta casserole, Italian oven-roasted vegetables, squid rings, etc. But at least I don't go to the Chinese buffet for that. Dessert was classic cake, tiramisu, ice cream, fruit and lots of sweets. (Gummy bears, Smarties, marshmallows, etc.) A dream for children. What is still very disturbing is the noise in the restaurant. It is very difficult to converse in a normal tone. Another point of criticism unfortunately has to be the reservation time. The table is reserved for 2 hours after which you are subtly told to leave. For us as a family with children, there is just enough time, but if I imagine that we go out to dinner with friends on a Saturday evening and then have to be ready after 2 hours, then that is an extremely tight calculation. So I would say it's ok all in all, but if you really want to eat Chinese or at least Asian food, it's better to go somewhere else. The prices are significantly excessive for what is on offer.

Apart from the fact that Cologne is a colorful city with a lot of sights, the food in the Xiao all ypu can eat restaurant is the best I've ever been to and we visit these types of restaurants more often, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is great also very cozy and the main star (the buffet) is absolutely amazing, it's all very fresh and above all very, very tasty🤗 I will definitely visit the Xiao again, thanks to the Xiao team

Update December 24; Today we were back with the family for dinner, Friday afternoon, everything was great but the food was a disaster, the sushi was from the day before, even the crispy rolls were still really cold in the middle like they came from the fridge and the rice was dry and not even fully cooked. But there was no staff there. Duck was also very fatty and cold. It's a shame every time there's a little negative memory. Update September 24; Perfect for families and friends, but less worth it during the week as dishes like the shrimp and salmon are missing

I would have liked more attention from the service. At least when I first ordered, at that point the restaurant was still pretty empty. But the choice of food was plentiful and the food was good. We would be happy to come back, perhaps attentive service would round off the visit and we could then all give it 5 stars.

The food is great. However, there are far too few service staff. It is also very loud and it is difficult to have a conversation.

First of all, very nice staff, friendly, quick, etc. The food is very varied, but some of it isn't fresh and the sauces aren't always there as expected. Chairs and tables are very close together and the volume is therefore very high. Price €29.90 is also too high.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the XIAO. The dishes are not particularly tasty and the selection could be better. Many dishes also contain stuffed vegetables and after a few guests have had a meal you can look for the meat. But it will not be refilled. The service is attentive and friendly. But the overall price/performance ratio isn't right and it's better to go to the small Chinese buffets.

The view is really beautiful (rarely have I had such a good view from an all you can eat shop). There is absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of service or food. The best all you can eat shop around Cologne and definitely worth a visit 👍

We went to the dinner buffet for the first time in Pulheim, and I personally didn't like any of the food! Many bowls were empty and there was rarely anyone standing at the fresh counter who completely smeared the chocolate fountain and the fruit was completely gone. The toilets were up to the buffet, hardly any toilet paper and no soap, although the store had a manageable number of guests. Sorry for the price, I wouldn't do it again. Maybe try the lunch buffet for half the price if the employees are still motivated.

Xiao in Cologne Good value for money. In Cologne €14.90 for a varied buffet. Lots of vegetarian things and to combine freely. Atmosphere has something of a train station: - loud (music) - Constant hustle and bustle and queuing at the buffet - a bit like in a hotel Super nice and fast staff.

The rich buffet offers many varieties and is well maintained and refilled by the staff. Vegetarians can also be happy here. The atmosphere is modern and “airy”. Located on the edge of the commercial area, it offers a beautiful view over a former quarry lake. The restaurant is on the first floor and can be reached via a wide staircase and elevator.

Great, great shop, great food, very friendly service

Food is okay. The only thing that really tastes good are the chicken fingers. Everything else just doesn't seem right. Sushi very bad. Tastes like it was made with jasmine rice. Very hard and grainy. The selection is great but it's 60:40 with Asian and something else. Service is very slow. It took 30 minutes for the order to be taken and the table was not cleared once during the entire stay. The plates are stacked accordingly high, as it is better to go with small things often, as you actually have to pay for leftovers. Well, the shop is very nicely equipped and the food is beautifully presented.

Unfortunately, the food between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. isn't as great as it is from 4 p.m. Ab 16:00 Uhr ist der Preis aber dann deutlich teurer. Wir einmal abends dort und später auch einmal mittags. If you want to go in the evening, you should make a reservation. Overall, it is tasty but also quite expensive. The ladies and gentlemen who work there are super nice, service is top.

Today we went to the Xiao restaurant in Pulheim and ate there as a family. The ambience was very nice, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the food was really tasty. The place is cozy and overall we had a nice time. But all of this was ruined by an incredible act of cheek: we were charged €30 too much! Something like this is absolutely unacceptable and shows that the work here is not done with honesty. As good as the food was, we definitely won't be coming back. If you eat here, I strongly advise you to check the bill!!!

Nothing special. Eating is well, if you like eating sushi you're in the wrong place, unfortunately it's tk goods. Staff friendly, but long waiting times when it's full.

The food is always fresh and delicious. Everything is warm. The employees are always very friendly and attentive. Even if the restaurant is full, you don't have the feeling of being forgotten and even then the food is always replenished regularly. The quality of the food is really top notch! The drinks, especially the ice teas, are also highly recommended. We love coming back again and again, and have been for years.

So much Variety! Food is fresh , a lot of meals to choose from . Walters are always very nice and friendly . This is already pur 4th time and we will return gladly.

When we were there for the first time, a long time ago, it was pretty good. Unfortunately, it got worse every time. This week we were there around 3 p.m. The tables looked like a bomb had hit. Everything was full dirty plates, but no guests left. The food was lukewarm and partly overcooked. For us it was definitely the last time there.

Today, November 27th, 2024, we were in the beautiful restaurant Xiao in Pulheim. We are very enthusiastic about the large selection of dishes. There is something suitable for everyone. The waitress, Lana🤗 is very nice, very personable and brings a very good atmosphere, thank you for your conditions.❤️

Been here for the first time. The buffet was quite appealing and varied. Service ok. Quite a large guest room with a high noise level from many guests. That spoiled the whole thing a bit. Otherwise, another visit is planned in the summer with terrace space.

After eating at another Xiao location, we wanted to try this restaurant in Pulheim. And I have to say we weren't disappointed. There is a very large and, above all, varied buffet, the service is attentive and it also tastes very good! I can only recommend the Xiao chain.

The only thing that was good in this shop was the ambience, with over 50 guests only one cook, simple noodles take 30 minutes, the vegetables were undercooked. Food stalls are always empty, only two service employees, simply not enough! Not recommended.

We were here on a Saturday evening, unfortunately 50% of the buffet was empty most of the time and the quality of the food available left a lot to be desired. Of course, it is understandable that something may be out of stock on a busy day, but not permanently. We had prepared and handed over plates from the "raw" buffet, only one of which found its way back to us, the other came an hour later, when we had already finished the desserts. The service lady was very nice, but completely overwhelmed. Ordering drinks is quick and easy thanks to the QR code, but the drinks are totally adulterated and don't taste good at all. The store was completely full and therefore very loud. You could hardly have a conversation, it was more like a full cafeteria. Comfort is zero.

We love this restaurant and have been visiting regularly for years. There is a very good selection of food where I think there is something for everyone. The buffet also offers plenty of choice for those with a sweet tooth. Asian food at its best. Everything fresh. Fish, meat and seafood are grilled live and brought to the table. The sushi was also delicious. The atmosphere and the very friendly staff round off the visit.
