Food okay, service good! Unfortunately, the atmosphere is spoiled by the perceived mass processing. We recommend a seat upstairs so that you can at least exchange a few words.

Canteen atmosphere and very loud. Sushi, mongo style and Chinese restaurant all in one. Mass processing. Salads were delicious. Meat rather below average quality. Drinks took a long time. Unfortunately not for me.

Food was quite good. However, when it comes to fresh things, I would have liked fewer exotic types of meat and more fresh vegetables. Otherwise solid to good Asian crossover food.

We had to wait 15 minutes at the entrance even though we reserved a table. The waiter kept disappearing, even though you could see empty seats from the entrance. The comment that we wanted a quiet place was simply ignored. We were told to sit on a large bench close to other guests. We then simply sat down at another table that was free and for 3 people. Another couple also sat at a table for three. The waiter came a short time later and said that he now needed the table for three other people (even though there were still enough tables available for three people). We said no and then suddenly it was no longer a problem. The waitress only came once to take our drinks. Guests who came and ordered after us received their drinks sooner. Drinks ordered via the QR code arrived incorrectly or not at all. Only after asking and then was told that it wasn't true. We couldn't tolerate the food. But the pancake machine was good. In addition, it is a cheek to increase the price because of the fixed costs and cost of living & then to advertise that it is cheaper before 4 p.m. because then you need “less” light, but then you have the light on all the time? My husband is also a truck driver and knows that you buy these foods in large quantities and you pay a cheap price for them. Unfortunately it was the last time we ate at XIAO.

At the weekend you wait an extremely long time for a drink order. The food is OK. Otherwise the atmosphere is more reminiscent of a cafeteria...

The food and location are impeccable. One star deducted because of the bad-tempered staff. There was no tip and there wasn't even a farewell.

Very good and rich buffet with constant fresh replenishment. Delicious drinks and really fantastic lemonades. Not too sweet, unusual flavors. Despite the high number of visitors, the service was fast, reliable and particularly friendly. Everything perfect. We felt very comfortable and had a nice chat with the waitress. Very friendly and entertaining. We would have adopted her straight away...unfortunately we were too full to do anything other than breathe :D

Food was okay, unfortunately a bit loud and therefore a bit uncomfortable. Amelia was the most personable winemaker on site. I can only recommend it 🤩

I thought it was a bit rancid because there were flies everywhere

I was there last weekend and unfortunately I wasn't satisfied... We had a shaky table in the middle of dozens of other tables, so there was a lot of passing traffic... it probably took 20-30 minutes until we got our first drink, the wrong drinks were booked on our table, so there were problems with the bill afterwards... The food counters were always well stocked, but there was always a lot going on at the counters… Then 2 out of 3 times there were no more plates. When new ones arrived, they were simply left on the serving trolley. Which isn't so bad if they had been clean and dry... from the bottom, as well as some food leftovers on the top.... Unfortunately there is no reason for me to go there again…

Despite making a reservation for 2 p.m., we had to wait a long time at the entrance, even though there was only 1 couple in front of us. We were then assigned a seat in the far corner of the restaurant, even though the restaurant was half empty at the time. We were also not asked if we had a seat reference. By the way, it was not possible to make an earlier reservation online, even though the restaurant was half empty upon arrival and throughout the entire stay. Then it took almost 15 minutes for the service to come to the table to take the drink order. The food was okay and varied between very good and very cold. The cleanliness, however, is unfortunately inadequate. Many plates were inadequately washed. Some of the undersides were dirty, so you had to sort out several plates to get a clean plate. When I paid, I wasn't even told the total amount, but after the question "cash or card" I was simply presented with the debit machine with the choice of tip, so that I could only see the total price after confirmation. Incidentally, I have not received any receipt from which the individual items can be seen. Due to the SMS and email confirmation of my reservation and the QR code laid out on the table, I assumed that I would receive a receipt by email - but that hasn't happened yet. Overall, you get the impression of mass processing in a canteen-like atmosphere. If you just want to gorge yourself up to the top, this is probably the right place for you. If you want to go out for Asian food with family or friends and value the shared experience, you might want to go to a small restaurant where the “real” atmosphere is part of the restaurant visit.

The food was good but it was too full for us. You can call the service staff over the phone, but only after you have ordered your drinks and only receive this code. I think it would be better if every table had the QR code already at the table as it took 20 minutes for one of the staff to show up. All in all, still tasty.

After the first course at the buffet I had to go to the toilet. My companion also became bad at the end! Service doesn't know any manners and doesn't know thank you or please... if you defy the above situation, are friendly, give us a tip for the employee in charge and it is accepted without comment, say everything. We won't come back. I'd rather go somewhere else.

Delicious food at a great price. There is only a buffet offer. We found it very pleasant and not overcrowded, but it was also during the week. The restaurant was designed to be modern and attractive. We felt very comfortable and well looked after there. We were escorted to a place and everything was explained to us again on the way there. The colleague from service was there immediately and our delicious sodas arrived quickly. Definitely coming back 👍🏼

We were there in the evening Sushi dry, BBQ selection small and the food cold. The money is wasted here when you can eat much better and fresher food in the area. Given that there is a lot of competition in our area, this was really disappointing. We were there for the last time.

As announced, you will find Asian crossover cuisine here. The dishes on offer are consistently delicious. The grill where you can have selected ingredients freshly prepared was a flop for me personally, the long waiting time was announced and this was ok so far. Unfortunately most of the plate that found its way to my place was burnt and please, I saved myself a second round there. My wife probably had a bit more luck with the grill; hers was probably quite tasty. Even though the store wasn't very full, the wait for drinks was quite long. The atmosphere is very stylish and hip, but what doesn't work is the music, it's just boom boom boom. Conclusion: the food was great but you have to like and want the surroundings.

Food was good but sometimes better

It's not just the price that matters! The plates weren't refilled quickly enough, I like to eat what I want and not what's left. The crispy duck was more of a rubber eagle, if there was one. I even got salmon once! Empty plates were sometimes cleared away late. For me it wasn't worth the 19.90!

We were there on Saturday evening. Far too full, buffet too small for so many people, bowls were sometimes refilled too slowly. I wouldn't recommend that. Have already been to Münster on a Saturday lunchtime. Same buffet, only €10 cheaper and not nearly as full

You will be warmly welcomed at the entrance and escorted to the reserved table. The place is more reminiscent of a canteen than a restaurant. I also noticed the music negatively. The music was more for a lounge. I also found it very loud there. Asian authenticity is missing. The buffet: Many bowls with the food were missing or not refilled. The crispy hot vegetables were missing Wok. A lot of it was extremely salty. The fried noodles weren't good at all (you really have to want that), the rice was a mess, and the selection of fish was very limited. Our place: we were there with 7 people. The seat had not been cleaned. We first had to clean the round bench with napkins. Bottled water was ordered. The drinking glasses were for Part blind. I'm sorry. But we won't be coming back.

Absolutely not. The only good thing was the friendly waiter. I can't really judge the food because the containers were always empty except for a few leftovers. When you got something, it was usually not what you actually wanted. The food or leftovers were heavily salted. I have rarely experienced such poor service at the buffet. We were there on Saturday lunchtime at 1 p.m. We gave my sister-in-law, from England, this invitation for her birthday and really embarrassed ourselves.

I was so sorry for suggesting this restaurant to the group! I have rarely been so disappointed in my life as I was here. Unknown to everyone before, but we won't be seen here again. When I arrived at the place, there were a lot of them, I first had to clear the bench of food leftovers. The first person who wanted to sit down wanted to do so but there was ONLY the dirty cushion. The restaurant was moderately busy. The buffet was very small compared to the size of the restaurant. It was quite difficult to get anything edible as everything was constantly empty at the relatively small buffet. I was looking forward to fresh vegetables and lots of fish. There was hardly any of either. There was tomato mozzarella, onion rings in dough, etc. The fried Asian noodles - inedible. You have to do that first! The freshly prepared plate was served twenty minutes later. Burnt! What little sushi we had was rather dry, like the kind you can buy packaged at Aldi. The service was, well, I dunno - rarely at the table? Actually, the plates should be cleared regularly. All you can eat is just not everything. The food was consistently far too sweet. I'd rather pay more but in return I get delicious and fresh food that isn't burnt or full of sugar. I like to taste the individual components on my tongue.

The evening was already starting and we couldn't get a parking space. Then finally get in and wait in a forever queue despite having a reservation. Finally you were led to the table. The restaurant is like a huge canteen. It was extremely loud and crowded. Plates with raw things to grill arrived at the table after about an hour. At the buffet, bowls were constantly empty because the staff couldn't keep up with the rush to refill them. The table was sticky and there were leftover food and napkins on the floor under the table. This restaurant is only designed for masses and class unfortunately falls by the wayside. A reason for us not to go again.

XIAO Oberhausen – Nice ambience, but problems with supplies and grill quality The XIAO in Oberhausen impresses at first glance with a very nice ambience that is modern and inviting. The food itself is delicious and the selection is large, but unfortunately there were some weaknesses in the refilling of food and the grill service. There were always shortages, especially with fish and meat at the grill station. There were times when guests had to wait up to 15 minutes at the fresh counter until, for example, shrimp was added. The time until the freshly grilled food was delivered to the table was also far too long - sometimes 30 to 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the shrimp were so overcooked by then that the enjoyment was completely lost. Overall: The ambience and the basic concept are promising, and the food has potential. However, urgent work needs to be done to organize the replenishment processes and the quality of the grill service. With these improvements, the XIAO could be truly great.

The staff in the restaurant was extremely unfriendly. When we went in we were taken to our table and when we asked the lady if we could sit somewhere else she refused and I was no longer listened to and then she just ran away without giving an answer. When we asked a waiter if I could have a smoke, I was ignored for the first time, then the second time I asked, I was very rudely told that I should ask my waitress. SERVICE 0/10 Food seemed to be empty everywhere and it took far too long for anything to be refilled, and when it finally arrived it was only lukewarm! Food 3/10 NOT RECOMMENDED ESPECIALLY NOT IF YOU IF YOU ARE NOT GERMAN, OTHERWISE YOU WILL JUST BE LOOKED AT WRONG BY THE STAFF AND RUDE SERVICE!!!!

So today I was in xiao in Oberhausen for the first time and was disappointed, not with the food or the staff, but they simply didn't keep up with the food. I waited half an hour for duck, the spare ribs didn't even arrive and I didn't get any fried noodles either. It's actually a shame in Gelsenkirchen that we never thought we'd try it out today, but maybe we should give it another chance. Because that's what I I could try it and it tasted good. Still disappointed at first.

A total of 3 plates were given for grilling. After 40 minutes. The first plate with the wrong product. 10 minutes later 1 plate arrived that was correct. The supposedly 3 plates after 20 minutes were probably on the grill, after another 8 minutes, we paid and left. The cook and the waitress must have fallen asleep. All this from 8:20 p.m. to 10:10 p.m

A terrible restaurant for such money 💰 30 € but the first time I go there is nothing in the restaurant and the food is spoiled, especially seafood, it’s terrible. And there’s a whole chain of these restaurants too

Overall, that's how it works. The food isn't great, a lot of it was often empty and it took a long time to refill it. The homemade sauces without glutamate simply tasted sweet, salty and like soy sauce. Like a teriyaki sauce from the supermarket. The ambience isn't exactly homely, the music style was electronic stuff - it doesn't have to be that way. However, the price was good for today's standards ~ €20 for a buffet is fine. 👌🏼 The waiters weren't the most attentive either, even though the place was NOT crowded.

The Xiao Oberhausen is in an easily accessible location and has a nice atmosphere, the staff are very nice and accommodating, especially Marcel, who is waiting for you at the reception.👍🏽

Way too big. The finished food was partly cold. I had a plate of fresh fish prepared for me. Had to wait an hour for it. The second took even longer. My wife and daughter got stomach cramps at night. Our service was super nice, but we won't be coming back.

Large buffet restaurant with a very large selection next to the Centro. The food is very tasty and there is a very large selection. Unfortunately the service is very slow. There are a lot of service staff to clear things up but only a few where you can order drinks. These then take a very long time until the drinks are at the table. Which I don't understand because that's how restaurants make money. I was a little confused about the children's buffet. We specifically asked how old the children were; these are also shown separately on the invoice, but at the adult price. Then you can save yourself the hassle of asking questions. What's also strange is when you order a soda it comes with lots of crushed ice but no straw. You can then buy a glass straw, which I think is fine, but that should be offered. So that the guest doesn't have to go to the counter.
