This week we spontaneously had lunch at XIAO Gelsenkirchen. We were greeted very nicely and immediately taken to a corner where we were allowed to choose a table. The selection of food is also really good at lunchtime. Everything was hot and delicious. I would especially like to rate our waiter Shery positively. Very friendly, quick, attentive and a good dose of humor. It was a great visit! ☺️

Food top it couldn't be better, best all you can eat ever, one of the employees, Sherry, was also very polite and patient.

Great variety, rich buffet, delicious food

Actually the restaurant is luxurious, the location is great, it is clean and the atmosphere is very good. I am Asian and have visited many Chinese buffets. Unfortunately the selection is very limited and there is not enough variety of food to compare with other Chinese buffets. I thought I could find different seafood dishes there, like shrimps and mussels, unfortunately there isn't, only raw seafood only for grilling. The taste is also not special like in real Chinese restaurants, especially the fried noodles and fried rice. Whoever said in reviews that there was a lot of choice and delicious had no idea about buffet. I'm really disappointed... for the first time and never again.

Unfortunately, the food has completely deteriorated. I was very disappointed at lunchtime 😞 The crabs to make fresh were so small, almost micro small. They were the size of half my little fingernail. And what about a noodle casserole at a Chinese buffet? My conclusion: A real disaster in terms of taste. And little choice, everything cold. It used to be better. The sushi was inedible.

Unfortunately you can only give one star for the food. Poor selection, not refilled, some of the food not cooked through and not tasty at all. Too bad. But we won't come back.

Das XIAO Gelsenkirchen hatte früher einen besseren Service. Das Geschirr wurde nicht abgeräumt -Nicht nachgefragt ob noch etwas zu trinken gewünscht wird.. Zur Bezahlung lange warten , obwohl man bemerkt wurde, ein paar mal vorbei gelaufen andere Bestellungen aufgenommen. Dann endlich nach mehren Versuchen sich aufmerksam zu machen, Kam der mürrische Kellner und fragte nur nach Trinkgeld. Ich habe geantwortet das ich für guten oder auch normalen service grundsätzlich Trinkgeld in Bar gebe und nicht was bei Kartenzahlung in verschiedenen Gruppen angezeigt wurde, Dass Essen war eigentlich wie immer ok.

It's delicious, but also expensive. The selection is large, but not huge. Our waitress rarely came by, otherwise we would have liked to drink more.

It was really nice for the first time in here and we can recommend Weiher with a lot of selection

Far too many reservations are accepted so that the buffet is constantly empty. There were also things that really took an hour to be filled up on plates and you had to constantly wait. Unfortunately, most of the food wasn't tasty

Absolutely not recommended, after a 10 minute wait to get the reserved seat, the service came quite quickly and pointed out that there were longer waiting times for the drinks, the first and only round was about 15 minutes. At the buffet you could only guess what was there , the fresh buffet wasn't even refilled in 40 minutes so I can't rate it because there wasn't much to fry other than raw food. The ready meals were only sparsely available but were refilled every now and then. Fried noodles were also just for the smell. When you asked the service staff at the buffet you were put off. After I paid and pointed out to the waiter that there was no buffet, at least the drinks were waived. All in all, it was the second time at Xiao and every time it was the same too many customers, too few staff and only limited availability of the food.

That was nothing today!!! Despite reservations, changing and frequent buffet supply problems, often no plates, first drink order came after 1.5 hours for dessert, no accommodation when billing. A lot of money (6 people) for little performance!!!

For Chinese food lovers, this restaurant is the perfect choice. There is an open buffet for food and dessert, and there is also a large free parking lot.

I think the ambience is successful for this type of location. Although it is a buffet restaurant, you don't feel like you are in a train station. The staff was very nice and attentive and available to contact at any time. In my opinion, the lighting in our area was way too dark. Sometimes I would have to use my smartphone to see what I was eating. Maybe it's just me too. Now to the food, and that actually shocked me. All you can eat or not, you know that you can't expect star cuisine... There were two directions when choosing the dishes. Normal or really hot. In my opinion the quality was rather mediocre. I've had finer dishes in the Chinese snack bar. Maybe it was because Xiao supposedly avoids glutamate. I can't judge. Personally, I didn't find it particularly tasty. Unfortunately, the finished dishes were all only lukewarm, not even the soup (filling level 3cm) was hot. But the grill was a real disaster for me. The meat was fried to death and the vegetables kissed the griddle to the max. It was raw and therefore more than al dente. And... lukewarm to cold. Really bad in my opinion. These were all my own impressions and feelings, but my family shared them and felt the same way. Only my daughter raved about the teriyaki chicken. Everyone should form their own opinion and I am also in favor of trying restaurants again later. Criticism is often accepted. And something is happening. My conclusion is that there is a lot of room for improvement and I cannot recommend this restaurant. Maybe I'll try again at some point, but then only through some kind of discount campaign. It wouldn't be worth the full price to me.

Yesterday, I had lunch here with my son. Although it was Asian cuisine, the menu was very poor and had few varieties. There was almost no seafood. There were no shrimps. (Only on the sushi). When I asked the waiter about it, she said it was on the evening menu.There were only a 2-3 types of fish for grilling. When I tasted the noodles, they were made of Spaghetti not NOODLE. The inside of the fried bananas was pitch black. It was a disappointment for us.

It was very crowded. There should be more staff there, which in my opinion wasn't the case. The food (buffet) was good, with something for every taste. The dessert was nothing special, pretty simple. The price is too high for that

Very large selection of buffet. If you can't find anything there, you can also have something grilled. For children who are a little more picky or don't like Asian food, there are also fries, chicken nuggets, etc. The waitress Vanessa was super nice and spread a good atmosphere. Normalerweise würde ich 3 Sterne geben für meine Meinung zum Verhältnis zwischen Essensqualität, Service und Preis. Sie bekommen hier aber nur einen Stern, weil sie scheinbar vehement gegen Bewertungen bei google vorgehen, die ihnen nicht gut genug sind weswegen die dort angezeigte Punktzahl aus meiner Sicht nicht authentisch ist. So ist es zB bei mir passiert und meine persönliche Meinung zu dem Besuch dort wurde als Verleumdung bezeichnet. Daher ist diese nicht mehr bei google zu finden. Das meine Erfahrung authentisch ist, kann ich sogar mit der Rechnung von dem Mittagessen an dem Tag belegen und den Mund lasse ich mir von denen nicht verbieten!

Everywhere you see signs without glutamate...well there are other flavor enhancers that are just as questionable, like yeast extract pp Buffet is sufficiently large and quality of the food is not outstanding. Salmon was quite good and fish dishes from live cooking were good to eat. lots of vegetable salad and large dessert counter All in all, recommended for a midday snack

The food is good. The selection could be a little larger. Unfortunately the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all. Much too expensive for what is on offer. The waiters could be a little more attentive. It doesn't have the train station flair like the restaurant in Oberhausen or Marl, but it's still not nice in my opinion. What is definitely positive is that you have to pay a fine if you leave full plates back. 2 euros per 100 grams of wasted food. However, we will no longer eat at a XIAO. In our opinion it is simply not enough for the rather impressive price.

Lunch buffet between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. Delicious and the same selection as in the evening, only the raw ingredients to prepare from the wok are missing. To mention, glass straws cost 50 cents and can then be taken with you. Everyone has to judge for themselves, on the one hand, no plastic straw and no trash or drink cocktails without a straw.

Hello, after many years of frequenting this restaurant, today we decided that it was the last time. The quality has deteriorated so much and the quantity is also becoming less and less. The plates on the fresh buffet took forever to fry. Bread was dry, almost hard, and the fried noodles were weak and not seasoned. The salmon was fried to death, dry to an end, the selection became less and less every time, and the ice cream counter and chocolate sauce were no longer available. Pancake machine broken. It's a shame that this restaurant has developed like this. PS, a sensible cook. Could be a remedy for that.

The three stars are only given because of previous good to very good experiences. Today the visit was “underground”. The waiter wasn't particularly attentive. The buffet was filled far too slowly and only after request. The dishes and cutlery were also neglected. Overall it was a bit loveless and definitely not worth the money today. Too bad. Addendum. The service, offer and organization are now top again! Everything very well organized and attentive. The food was replenished quickly and the quality improved. Thanks.

So far we have always been satisfied. We meet friends there regularly. This time we met during the week and were very disappointed. The food was hardly replenished. Or soggy leftovers simply remained on the buffet. There was also little choice for dessert because nothing was refilled. However, as always, the service was very friendly. Maybe we just had a bad day, but we definitely weren't happy this time

It took quite a long time for the waiters to take our order, and at times the service wasn't as attentive as one would like. However, the ambience of the restaurant is excellent. The decor is stylish and you feel in a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. Despite the slow service, we enjoyed our visit and for the good food and lovely atmosphere it's definitely worth stopping by.
