Very good home-cooked food. Fast, friendly service.

A lovely, cozy pub/restaurant. Good, home-style cooking with truly delicious dishes. The service is super friendly and accommodates every request. You can tell they enjoy what they do, rather than simply being forced to. We were visiting Wuppertal and always enjoyed our meals there. Highly recommended!

Very quaint pub, the food was good, the clientele was very diverse, but it wasn't a problem for me. I found it a bit odd to charge extra for ketchup. Overall, though, it was really okay.

Highly recommended – our reorder was accommodated without any ifs, ands, or buts. Excellent value for money. We'd be happy to come back.

We spontaneously discovered this great restaurant yesterday. We had booked an overnight stay at a nearby hotel and wanted to go for a drink in the evening. What can I say? We were thrilled by the friendliness of the service (I think it was the owner), the clean restaurant, the great atmosphere, and the music was fantastic. A place like this is a rare find. It's a shame we'd already eaten somewhere else. The menu is very appealing. If we come back to Wuppertal, this will be our first stop. We felt very comfortable. All the best, and I hope this great place continues to be around for a long time.

Simply the best restaurant I've ever been to! The service was top – super friendly, attentive and professional. The staff were warm and made you feel welcome. The food was to die for: fresh, perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was also cozy and stylish. I'll definitely come back.

The schnitzel with fried potatoes was really tasty. I haven't eaten schnitzel in a long time and I was really looking forward to it. The portion was very large for me and I hadn't eaten anything before, but I still couldn't finish almost the whole thing. The furnishings look very cozy and the atmosphere is also great. 10/10

Very nice pub/restaurant in the best sense of the word! The atmosphere is quaint and cozy. The service is quick and very friendly. The beer 🍺 was at a good temperature and the food was hot and came in a reasonable time. We liked it and the price was reasonable.

Really friendly local bar and restaurant. I arrived just after the kitchen closed but they still rustled up a schnitzel and fries for me. And a real bargain!! Fully recommended.

I visited with some family to just have beers on a warm day. The service was quick and friendly. You can tell that they have a lot of regulars that visit this restaurant often. We also had some apfelstrudel which was tasty and included a hot coffee. Great experience, highly recommended.

What a find in downtown Wuppertal. Cosy, friendly and a proper local pub. Fantastic experience. Met some lovely people. Highly recommend a visit if in Wuppertal.

A bit hidden, like a small restaurant where locals come to eat

We had dinner there on Friday. My farmer's pot was very tasty and completely sufficient in quantity. My partner's schnitzel was probably big but lacked flavor. The fries were delicious.

Overpriced frozen food. Classic tourist restaurant. I had the vegetable plate - unfortunately the menu offers very very little choice for people who don't eat meat. The very meager plate was decorated with food from the frozen section of a random discount store. There were three “crispy rösti corners” from the frozen package with a handful of frozen imperial vegetables and a fried egg on the plate. When you go out to eat somewhere, you expect food that uses fresh ingredients - especially for such simple dishes.

Trotz frühzeitiger Reservierung eines abgeschlossen Bereiches, wurde ein reservierter Tisch unabgesprochen an Fremde vergeben. Was bei uns zu echten Platzproblemen geführt hat. Der Service wirkte den kompletten Abend über überfordert. Wir mussten mehrfach die Bedienung darum bitten, eine Getränkebestellung aufgeben zu dürfen. Das Essen dauerte über eine Stunde, was wir gern in Kauf genommen hätten, wenn es wenigstens warm gewesen wäre. Für einen Snack zwischen dem Einkaufsbummel mag die Burgschänke in Ordnung sein. Aber nicht zu festlichen Anlässen mit mehreren Personen.

Dit is een restaurantje waar de locals ook komen. Erg lekker gegeten, erg vriendelijke bediening en zeker niet duur. Schnitzel is een aanrader.

Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Zudem zu einem Spaß aufgelegt. Auf das Essen musste man nicht lange warten und es war sehr lecker!!!

Ich bevorzuge Seniorengerichte und da gibt es eine reichhaltige Speisekarte, sehr empfehlenswert.

Vorab, ich mag dieses Oldschool Kneipen Ambiente. Der Service war sehr nett und freundlich, mit der Geschwindigkeit hat es allerdings etwas gehapert. Als Vorspeise eine Gulaschsuppe bestellt, hatte allerdings nicht viel mit einer Gulaschsuppe zu tun. Hauptgericht Matjes mit Bratkartoffeln, war soweit ok, allerdings sehr überschaubar. Nun, denke nicht das ich noch einmal einkehren würde.b

We hebben heel lekker gegeten hier, prima schnitzel en de sfeer is erg gezellig... we komen zeker terug :-)

Heerlijk gegeten. Vriendelijk personeel. Voldoende aandacht. Wij waren met 4 personen en hadden allemaal een ander gerecht. Iedereen vond het heerlijk. We hebben direct gereseveerd voor de dag er na.

Der Service war okay, das Essen leider nicht so gut. Die Gulaschsuppe war richtig schlecht, die Hauptspeisen unterer Durchschnitt. Die Preise sind günstig, aber für die Qualität und Menge fast zu teuer.

Kleines uriges Restaurant. Preis Leistung passt.

Leckere Speisen, gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, freundliche Bedienung! Zu dem Zeitpunkt wie wir da waren, waren alle Tische besetzt, das sagt ja schon alles!!! Wenn wir in Elberfeld sind werden wir wieder dort einkehren.

Die Burgschänke ist ein alteingessenes Ambiente. Es ist klein gehalten, gemütlich und trotz der Energiepreise muckelig warm. Es gibt gute Hausmannskost zu fairen Preisen.

Meine Eltern gehen dort 2 mal in der Woche zum essen und nun musste ich mir selber ein Urteil über die Burgschänke bilden! Sehr freundliche Bedienung und einen sehr netten Betreiber 🙏 Und natürlich nicht zu vergessen, die Speisen waren allesamt sehr lecker 🍺

Erg lekkere schnitzel en apfelstrudel gegeten. Fijne sfeer. Zelfs op dinsdagavond was het erg druk.
