Wulfeler Biergarten in Hannover

This year we are only giving it 1 star! We have been loyal guests at this beer garden ever since it opened, even when the really delicious ribs cost €18.50! This year the price has been increased again, we will not pay €23.00 for a plate of bones with some meat on them!! For that I can get a rump steak with baked potatoes and sour cream, garlic bread and a salad at the steakhouse!! Also everything in this beer garden is pretty outdated, from the toilets to the beer table sets, nothing has been replaced in the last few years!! Very sad, but I think we are not the only ones who are not prepared to pay such prices, because you also want something to drink that isn't particularly cheap and you have to pay for parking too! No thanks!!

I'm being fair. The ribs, even though they're very expensive, are clearly the best in town. But, as always, two stars deducted for the beer chilling. Unfortunately, I didn't get a response to my email to Gerd. At these prices, the beer MUST be cold. But it hasn't been for years. Update 2025: Ribs are more expensive again, with significantly smaller portions... too bad... now I've exceeded my limit... Update from today: The beer temperature was explained plausibly. The portion of ribs is back to its usual level... one more star for that. But the beer has been too warm, even undrinkable, for years.

We've been going here in the summer for years. The summer salad and ribs are amazing, spicy and delicious. The gyro is also very good. We've never tried any other dishes. The service is also very friendly. The Apfels is not bad; it's really grown in recent years, but where not, and it's worth it to us!

Eating delicious food under shady trees in the city, away from the noise of the streets... that's great. 👍🏻

The best ribs in the Hanover area. We've been coming here regularly for over 30 years to enjoy the delicious ribs. The quality has only declined slightly, but it's still much better than any other place in the area. Unfortunately, the prices aren't as good anymore, but they're still okay for two or three visits during the season. The staff is super friendly and always relaxed and in a good mood. We just wanted a plate of ribs and a pilsner one summer evening. Or rather, there were two of us and we hadn't been there for a few years. Bam, about 60 euros!! The ribs alone cost 23 euros. Admittedly, a very large portion, with coleslaw from a bucket. That's way too expensive!!! For that, I expected incredibly tender ribs, falling off the meat, smoked, and prepared BBQ-style. But they weren't. They were prepared in a "German" style, a bit dry, with just about an okay flavor. It could be better. The beer could have been colder that evening, and the drafts from the tap were sparse and slow. The entire interior, including the bar, umbrellas, and restrooms, were becoming increasingly rundown. It wasn't busy at 8:00 p.m. on a summer evening in August. I think I know why...

It's a beer garden, and you can sit quite comfortably. The price for ribs is very expensive these days. A portion of ribs is 24 euros, which is a bit steep. But the gyros, for 14 euros, is very tasty.

The prices for ribs are truly outrageous for a self-service beer garden. They're cheaper at any restaurant. These ones are quite tough, the meat almost impossible to get off the bone. They taste like Asian chicken. Gyros for €14 are also a statement for the quality...the skewer is already screaming...

Bratwurst was okay. Potato salad was disgusting. (Bucket from the Metro) Staff was rude, unmotivated, and unkempt. Staff emptied trash bags and ashtrays and went back behind the counter without washing their hands and continued serving. Ribs for 23 euros. Dry and tough, not good!!!

Totally overpriced, completely unjustified for a bit of meat and bones and a run-of-the-mill salad, all in a beer garden. Yesterday, I paid €20.90 for a superb meal at the EdelItaliener in Kirchrode. 10 employees, MEGA setup. The more I think about it, the more I'm annoyed that I didn't turn around. No one should go there anymore at that price. Rip-off...

Place looked okay. Not too crowded. You can't pay by card though. Cash only! Seems crazy in 2025 but yeah we couldn't try the food or anything and immediately left again

Very expensive But the best ribs

The best ribs for miles around! Even my mother-in-law from Düsseldorf raves about them. New this year is buzzers, which you receive when you place your order and let you know when your order is ready. This is a huge improvement for me – on nice weather days, you could easily wait in line for half an hour or forty-five minutes.

Once and never again! Truly a huge disappointment. I wanted to have something to eat and drink at the Wülfeler Biergarten on Sunday, July 6, 2025, around 4:15 p.m., but I had a very bad experience. Firstly, they don't accept card payments, there are many different meat dishes to eat, but no fries or fried potatoes, and the ribs are only available in a huge version for €23, which is easily enough for three people. Unfortunately, a smaller portion isn't offered. When I asked the staff about it, I was very rudely reprimanded, saying that it was just the way it was, and if I didn't like it, I should go somewhere else. One younger employee in a green top, in particular, couldn't resist annoying me with stupid comments, so I didn't order anything and will never go to that beer garden again! I will also advise all my friends not to go there!

Spyros has been making the best ribs ever for years. The gyros are usually top-notch too. Yesterday, at least 😉 Many people come from far away, like yesterday from Kaltenweide. You know you're always getting the same good quality. Drink prices are also very reasonable, by the way 👍 A little decoration on the tables, and it would be perfect.

After 15 years of returning to this place, which I remember as lovely, "unfortunately" nothing has changed. Drinks yes - food no Beer garden atmosphere and restaurant prices. Ribs from the convection oven, which then spend a minute on the grill as an excuse. At least they're not listed as "grilled" on the menu. Salad is drowned in stress, and the completely exorbitant prices (for the food!) have already been criticized. The flippant tone and the informal use of the informal form of address when serving food add to the fun. It almost feels like Berlin or Cologne. The gyro itself was quite good in terms of quality and taste. At €14, however, it was still too expensive. The drink prices, on the other hand, I found to be normal.

The food is amazing, whether it's ribs or gyros...the salad is great, and the atmosphere is simply wonderful... However, I think it's a shame that you can't pick up anything to eat in the current situation, and there's no information about when they'll open. The people are also really nice and friendly. Simply great.

We went there for the ribs. Unfortunately, the price wasn't worth it, as they were tough rather than tender and soft. You could really expect more. The marinade didn't save them, unfortunately. The portion was sufficient. The only highlight, however, was the punch :)

As a Neanderthal, I can say with certainty that they have the best ribs in town. If you want, you can order a salad with it. Important! Cash only! And you can't be in a hurry. Waiting times and standing in queues are the order of the day there. But it's worth it!

They really have a flaw... more expensive again... €24 for a plastic bowl of ribs that you have to get yourself... and in what has become a horrible atmosphere... the toilets were probably last renovated in 1960. The ribs are really tasty but the price of €23 is really a bad joke!!! I can still remember times when you would have to wait in line for a long time for ribs…. Now you can get to it straight away... What could be the reason for this... I would also like to mention that even though there was almost nothing going on and there were enough employees, the tables were all dirty and sticky... does that really have to be???

Unfortunately, payment by card is not possible. I find this completely incomprehensible and a shame in 2025. Unfortunately we had to go somewhere else to eat.

23-24 euros for ribs is really a bad joke! The price is in no way related to the quantity or quality. Yes, the ribs are OK, but really only OK, I know of 5 shops in Hanover that offer better ribs for half the price. Service and ambience was good. After digesting the 24 euros for the ribs, I had to get something to eat somewhere else because unfortunately the portion size didn't fill me up.

Actually, everything there is great! Personally, I think the price for the ribs is a bit high. As long as people still buy them, the manager has done everything right 🤷‍♂️ The prices for drinks are the same as everywhere else. What surprises me is that the drinks are pretty slow. I work in the restaurant industry myself and have seen them at least twice as fast. And I always smile. The place itself is small but really nice. I'm curious to see if I'll have to wait in line for 20 minutes for a drink again this year. I find the line for the ribs bearable. I only wait in line once.

Ribs with salad tasted good, a bottle of water for 5 euros is a little expensive, plus glasses that smelled so bad that you couldn't drink from them. We then drank from the bottle. The toilets need urgent renovation.

We hadn't been there for a long time and were surprised by the prices, the taste was still good, the waiting time was the same, you can still go there, around €50 for food and drinks. 2 for people, it's not a small amount for ribs, we only go there twice a year.

The last time I was here was 6 years ago. According to other reviews, the price has increased by a good 8 or 9 euros in 3 years. Currently €20.50 I think the portion size is absolutely fine. I remembered it tasting better. Meat too hard for my taste. Nothing falls off the bone here and you have to gnaw on it. I would also season them more. They are prepared in a steamer without a smoker. So prepared without real smoke from the smoker. There is a flavor enhancer on the menu for this. I thought the sauce from the pot was delicious. For me the price is not justified. The beer garden is self-service The toilets, the furnishings and the stalls have not been majorly renovated in the last 10-15 years. You can park right in front of it, but it costs €1.50 every hour. Tip: We ate twice during our visit to Hanover. I can recommend the Donau restaurant opposite. A Balkan grill. It was very tasty, large portions, salad bar, nice service and also cheaper.

The beer garden is actually cult. Unfortunately, you wait forever for your food, which is no longer of the same quality as it was 10-15 years ago. Prices have risen sharply. We were invited to an event at the place and we got some good beer from the place, but being a biergarten we could only choose a dark beer, so it could easily do better, and a bit strange that you can only pay with cash .

For us personally, the best ribs in Hanover are here. Of course, not exactly a bargain in terms of price. But we don't eat ribs every day, we only eat them 2-3 times a year. Was okay. If you like ribs, this might be a good one. I didn't order them because they were too burnt for me. And 22.50 euros WITHOUT a side dish was too expensive for me. There are no fries. So you just ate a bratwurst with a slice of toast that you had to take out of the foil packaging yourself. The apple spritzer was cheap and delicious at 3.90 euros for 0.5 liters. Toilet in container is okay. I think it's great that there is warm water for washing your hands. Parking situation is difficult if you come by car.

Beer garden in itself good. Ribs very tasty. Drinks okay too. Unfortunately, I just find it very unpleasant that you have to go onto the hotel grounds. There is a barrier and you have to pay the full amount, which I unfortunately find very unpleasant since you obviously spend a lot on the ribs and several drinks. The parking ticket will probably only be accepted if you take the food to go.

A visit here is an absolute MUST! The ribs are unique - and have been for years. The meat is always on point, juicy and has a nice, tasty color. You can also use sauce, which is simply a hit. Please don't forget to have the great salad when you visit. The dressing - mmmm. And for fans of English beer - there's Guinness on tap here. You just can't get more than that. You sit under large shady trees 🌳 🌳 🌳. Lots of fairy lights hang in between. You can comfortably stay here for a few hours. I'm there every year. One drawback: You have to drive your car into the hotel parking lot and therefore pay a parking fee. It's best to come by bike or train. Bon appetit!!!

Unfortunately, the Wülfel beer garden disappoints in several respects. First of all, it is often way too crowded, making it difficult to find a free space. Added to this are the high prices, which are disproportionate compared to other beer gardens. Another problem is the high average age of the guests, which is over 60, which makes the beer garden less attractive for younger visitors. The service also leaves a lot to be desired, as the waiters work very slowly and you have to wait at least 30 minutes for food and drinks. In addition, only cash payment is accepted, which is very inconvenient these days. Added to this is the poor organization that is reflected in all of these aspects. Overall, there is too little space, which makes the overcrowding even worse. Another drawback is the very small menu with not even five dishes, which are also overpriced. Overall, the Wülfel beer garden is therefore not a good choice for a relaxed and inexpensive visit.

The ribs enjoy a very good reputation. You can enjoy chilled drinks in the beer garden. This time too I enjoyed the ribs. XXL ribs with coleslaw cost €22.50 = a proud price; but it tasted good. Self-service. The beer price of €5.00 for half a liter of freshly tapped blonde is okay. Unfortunately, a larger chestnut tree had completely died. Good beer garden.

Super nice beer garden. Service was great. Everyone was really nice and accommodating. Dogs, it seems, are welcome - at least we had ours with us and no one said anything. Beer and food prices are ok - 5 euros for a beer or 23 euros for spare ribs only - ok. The ribs themselves, which are so hyped, are ok. Are classic German ribs. Unfortunately, the parking space in front of the door costs €5 - but the beer garden can't help it. We will be back.

Staff is friendly. However, you actually always have to queue for food and often for drinks. But everything is great. UPDATE: Had to reduce the number of stars. These galactic prices for food are insane. A little more expensive was okay, but now the prices are so high that you can almost go to a steakhouse. The fact that there is no card payment is no longer up to date.
