Wollkim Koreanisches Restaurant in Erfurt

We both ordered bibimbap, one vegetarian and one beef, and kimchi and seaweed salad as starters (although it's meant to be a side dish to the main course; we like it that way, so we had it as an appetizer). Everything was VERY DELICIOUS! The flavors were so perfectly balanced, I highly recommend it.

Great Korean food. We had the BBQ. Many thanks to the great care at the grill and the wonderful explanations of the individual dishes. We had a wonderful evening with many different variations of Korean food.

We came specifically from Vogtland to Erfurt to eat at Wollkim...we even made a reservation. The menu is very clear (not much choice). It wouldn't be bad if half of them weren't sold out. The taste wasn't great either! It was our first and last time eating there! I don't recommend it! It was a birthday present for me and it was very disappointing 😓

That was our first time eating Korean. It was very tasty, looked good and the service was very nice.

This small restaurant, with an outdoor area, is clearly worth recommending. The welcome is humorous and friendly. The food is delicious, we followed the recommendation of the friendly service staff and were thrilled. The cook is fabulous.

This evening at Wollkim left me speechless. If they could have given negative stars, I would have done so after this evening. I will never be a "guest" at this restaurant again. We waited two hours for our food. When we politely asked after an hour and a half when our food would be coming, we were ignored for another 15 minutes. When we asked again, we were still ignored until, after more than two hours, our dishes were gradually brought. We received the wrong dishes, and they were cold, too. When we asked, they offered to heat up the food. I found it lukewarm and blandly seasoned, a bitter disappointment that wasn't worth the wait. We each had one drink in two hours because, as I said, the waiters skillfully ignored us. After we were able to order a second drink from a waitress, we were told after 30 minutes that they didn't have it, even though it was listed on the menu. My obviously pregnant companion and we were offered a shot of schnapps as compensation. We politely expressed our disappointment in a conversation with the owner. At first, he forgot whether he was even the boss there, even though he sticks his face in front of every camera and prints it on every menu. Unfortunately, we received no apology or consideration during the conversation. Instead, we were reminded of his exhausting workday with supposedly such nasty customers, and our wait time was questioned. The situation became increasingly unpleasant, partly because we felt like we weren't being taken seriously due to the lack of response. When we wanted to pay, we were severely insulted by the owner. We were given a generous 10% discount for this experience. In the end, we were left with the feeling that we had been treated neither welcome nor respectfully as guests. Never again!

Our first visit to a Korean restaurant was a really, really good experience! Super tasty food, attractively prepared and very large portions. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. We would love to come back here😋

I went to the restaurant for dinner with two friends today. Unfortunately we had to wait over two hours for our food and asked twice in the meantime. We weren't even asked about drinks after our first order - overall we felt ignored by the staff. When the food finally arrived, an order was initially mixed up and one dish appeared to contain beef, even though it was understood to be vegetarian. Another dish was so cold we had to return it. It came back just lukewarm after a round in the microwave. The neighboring table also reported that it had already been waiting for 1.5 hours. Later, the boss came to this table and seemed reassuring - we had the impression that his willingness to talk was perhaps encouraged by the fact that the table was male. When we asked him to come to our table to describe our experiences, he was visibly annoyed. He said we were “the next guests” to complain and pointed out his stressful day at work. When we asked if he was the owner, he replied “I don’t know,” even though his photo adorns the menu. Unfortunately he didn't calm down, not even when we asked him to stop the conversation and pay. He continued to make loud and derogatory comments about guests in general. The behavior also seemed visibly unpleasant to his employees, but they stayed in the background and did not intervene. Overall, the evening was very disappointing for us. In our opinion, the service, communication and, above all, the tone leave a lot to be desired. Because of this experience we will not visit the restaurant again. The fact that it is still well attended is probably more due to the convenient location for tourists than to the service or atmosphere.

Unfortunately a very disappointing visit. We waited about 2 hours for our food, one of the dishes was cold and had to go back to the kitchen. When we expressed our dissatisfaction to the boss, he didn't react with understanding, but rather with irritation. He questioned our statements and made personal comments about his stressful day at work and his allegedly increasingly “aggressive guests.” He also continued this argument in front of the other guests. For a restaurant that relies on hospitality and professionalism, this was very unpleasant and inappropriate behavior. It's a shame - we were looking forward to the evening.

Real Korean cuisine is still quite rare in Germany. Pork is famous, here the pork belly. For us it's only used as bacon with eggs. This is really excellent in Wollkim. Beans as a starter: great. Friendly service and not overpriced. Clear 5 stars. Get there!

We had a wonderful evening at Wollkim. The Korean BBQ with Waguy beef is a taste highlight. The fact that a chef grills and explains it at the table also makes it a special experience. The boss also took the time to explain to us how the dishes, e.g. kimchi, are made locally. I'm already looking forward to the next visit.

Were there on Saturday evening with a reservation. Was very crowded. We sat near the entrance, where it was really cold for a long time and there was a constant draft. Although there was a lot of staff there, everything took a long time (ordering until the drinks were there, reordering drinks, getting the menu again, etc.). The staff had no regard for the guests and always had to be spoken to directly if you wanted something. Main courses came very differently, the last about 10 minutes after the first. The mandu tasted best as a starter. Bibimbap wasn't that great.

My favorite restaurant for several years! The ambience right on Cathedral Square is unbeatable. The quality of the food is so good and at a fair price. The fried chicken is an absolute recommendation.

Small but good menu, we had the Bulgogi and the Dakbokum, which were super tasty and the chicken was juicy and crispy. The large plates also came with a salad and a portion of rice and kimchi. Unfortunately there was no mochi left on the day we were there. Good wine, fast service, card payment possible.

The staff is quite inattentive and almost deliberately ignores the guests. The starters were okay, the main courses were mediocre to absolutely tasteless. The menu is quite manageable, there isn't much choice if you take a closer look. In contrast to the first, the second apple spritzer I ordered had hardly any carbonation, and the second ginger tea also looked completely different than the first. Everything seems a bit unprofessional, but the prices quoted are certainly self-confident.

Great food, very friendly staff. Although the surprise menu has to be pre-ordered, the kitchen prepared an alternative menu from across the menu. The chef was fantastic and was happy to explain her food. We'll definitely be back. I can recommend this restaurant 100 percent.

Worth the experiences, great food and delightful history.

On February 16th, 2025 I ordered a table for 4 people for the evening of March 7th, 2025 via the online system. It was confirmed directly via email. On March 2nd, 2025 I called to ask again whether we had to pre-order the BBQ, because no one knew that we had reserved. But that was then set up. Unfortunately, due to illness, I had to cancel the whole thing online (that was on March 7th, 2025 at around 12:45 p.m.) and I also received a confirmation by email. In the evening at 6:30 p.m. I was called and asked why I hadn't canceled and was threatened with a ban from the house because everything had been prepared and they only looked at the online portal in the evening and noticed the cancellation. This has never happened to me before, where I was put down so badly and things were assumed about me. I wonder what the online system is for if no one looks at it and situations like this arise. I'm just stunned.

The food is great and the service is great. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We would love to come back

Although we are from Erfurt, it was our first time at wollkim and we were thrilled. Super nice service who took the time to explain everything. Clear map (less is more!). The food was super tasty and beautifully presented. Price and performance absolutely consistent. We're definitely not here for the last time.

Usually, it is not easy to experience the deep taste of Korea outside the country. There are many reasons for this, but due to the different soil, the vegetables also have a different taste, and the basic ingredients used to prepare the condiments are significantly different from those in Korea. Therefore, I did not expect to experience the deep taste of Korea in Germany, especially in the former GDR region. But today I experienced a complete surprise. It is located right in front of Erfurt Cathedral Square and evoked the feeling of sitting in front of a café in front of the Eglise Saint-Sulpice in Paris, which I often visited there. At the same time, I was so surprised to experience Korean food that I hadn't tried even in Paris.

It was great to be able to enjoy the traditional Korean cuisine that I ate in Korea again here. I think it's the best Korean restaurant in Germany, and the location right in front of Erfurt Cathedral was also very convenient. The view of the evening lighting was indescribably beautiful and priceless.

Wir waren nun zum 3. Mal hier, hatten per Mail und telefonisch eine Reservierung erbeten, keine Rückmeldung erhalten und telefonisch die Auskunft, einfach zu kommen, wäre kein Problem. Ein Tisch war nach längerem Warten zu haben, der bestellte Wein samt Vorspeise waren um 19 Uhr ausverkauft, andere Vorspeise kam zusammen mit dem Hauptgang, Küche anscheinend überfordert,kulinarisch eher nicht koreanisch, schade! Definitiv unser letzter Versuch in diesem Restaurant!

I already knew Wollkim from a previous visit and went to Erfurt this weekend to experience this extraordinary food again. The vegan Dakbokum is one of the best dishes I've ever had the pleasure of eating. Service excellent, ambience excellent, large portions and everything perfect.

I have often eaten Asian dishes but this time the food was unfortunately not hot but only lukewarm and too dry. Even if there was a free coffee at the end. I can't convince myself of this place at the moment.

I tried to reserve a table online twice, a week apart, and there was no response or confirmation. Very unfortunate.

We stumbled into Wollkim today completely by chance and luckily managed to get a table. And what can I say? We were absolutely thrilled to walk out again! The service was exceptionally friendly, the food was terrific, and we treated ourselves to three courses - every single one was a delight! There was really nothing to complain about. On the way out we also had a very nice conversation with the owner, which rounded off the evening perfectly. All in all a great shop that we will definitely visit again! Thank you very much for allowing us to be your guests – and also for your patience with us. Hopefully we'll see each other again soon in Würzburg!

I can't understand the many good reviews, the ambience is not nice, very loud, after 75 minutes you are finally asked to clear the table, the next guests would wait. - Yes, really- The bulgogi I had was average. Too bad

Well, first of all, the service people are so nice and respond to all the wishes of the gesture, I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time, chapeau! The food is exceptionally good and has a pleasant spiciness. I love these steamed dumplings, they are simply delicious, but the kimchi is the best I have ever eaten. The ambience is simple and, I think, due to the high volume of guests, it is kept simple because the restaurant is very popular.

Yesterday we visited Wollkim for the first time and certainly not the last time. Although I had initially zeroed in on street food classics such as Tteokbokki, Jjjajangmyeon or Gimbap, the menu featured more balanced Korean cuisine. The bibimbap, kimchi and cucumber kimchi (!) were absolutely delicious. We also had the pleasure of meeting the manager of the house. Mrs. Wollschläger-Kim lovingly looked after our little daughter, cut up fresh cucumber for her to snack on and showed us the possibility of changing her diaper. In addition, despite the full house, she took the time to give me, as a breastfeeding mother, detailed advice on optimal nutrition. We have never received so much warmth in a restaurant. We'll definitely be back, thank you again! :-)

Very few, but very similar dishes. But very tasty, everything is clean, especially the bathroom. The people are friendly, fast and accommodating. We'll come again. :)

What should be highlighted is the exceptionally magical staff - super super approachable, friendly and approachable. The homemade lemonade with plum was super delicious, I was hyped about the chocolate mochi. Unfortunately, a dessert that was previously advertised was no longer available in the end. And a small negative point, for me it was too much meat, too few vegetables and too little sauce and therefore too dry. I think the price is a bit higher.

Das Wollkim liegt direkt am Domplatz. Auf der Karte findet man allerlei Gerichte, mal scharf, mal weniger scharf. In Summe ist die Zusammenstellung relativ gleich, nur halt mit Hühnchen, Ente of. Rind. Geschmacklich waren die gewählten Gerichte gut. Fazit: Ein bisschen mehr innovative Gerichte könnten es schon sein. Ist doch die koreanische Küche alles andere als eintönig!

The first visit to Erfurt and spontaneously came across this culinary surprise. In addition to the delicious Korean dishes, all of which we can recommend without hesitation, we were particularly pleased by the friendly staff. You always had the feeling that, despite a full house, enough time was taken for everyone. We were advised and various dishes were described and recommended to us. Plus the Korean lemonades. A great culinary evening that I can only recommend to everyone.

I was in Erfurt for the first time at the Christmas markets. A friend recommended this restaurant to me and it was really delicious. The staff is very helpful and kind. Food, in one word, great.

Wir waren heute zu zweit im Wollkim. Wir bestellen Bibimbab vegetarisch. Es sah ansprechend aus. Das Essen wurde uns lauwarm bis kalt serviert (der Reis war lauwarm und das Gemüse und Spiegelei waren sehr kalt). Das war ja nicht mal das schlimmste. Reis und Spinat wurden nicht gewürzt. Bei den anderen Zutaten schmeckte man nur schärfe und kein Aroma. Zum würzen stellte man uns eine rote Flasche ohne Aufdruck hin. Darin befand sich eine scharfe Soße. Wir reklamierten das Essen und gaben es zurück. Die Reklamation wurde nicht angenommen. Vom Inhaber des Lokals wurde wir nicht ernst genommen. Er fing mit uns eine Diskussion an. „Es ist ihr Problem, wenn ihnen das Essen nicht schmeckt.“ Ebenso musste das unschmackhafte und lauwarme/ kalte Essen auch bezahlt werden. Ich werde mit Sicherheit nicht mehr dort essen gehen und würde auch jeden weiteren Gast von einem Besuch dieses Lokales abraten. Es gibt andere koreanische Restaurants oder Imbisse, die bei weitem empfehlenswerter sind. Das ist das schlimmste Essen, was wir je gegessen haben und wofür wir bezahlen mussten, obwohl es nicht verzehrt zurückgegeben wurde.

The two of us were at Woolim today. We ordered bibimbab vegetarian. It looked appealing. The food was served to us lukewarm to very cold (the rice was lukewarm, the vegetables and fried eggs were very cold). Rice and spinach were unseasoned. The other ingredients only tasted spiciness and no aroma). To season we were given a red bottle with no print on it. There was a red sauce in it. We complained about the food and returned it. The complaint was not accepted. We were not taken seriously by the owner of the restaurant. He started a discussion with us. “It's their problem if they don't like it.” Likewise, the untasty lukewarm to cold food had to be paid for. This is the worst food we have ever eaten and we had to pay for it even though it was returned uneaten.

Successful change, Christmas market too full, restaurants in the area full, a table was conjured up here. Thank you for that and thank you for the delicious food.

As the name suggests, typical Korean dishes are served here. It was super tasty and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

It was the best family meal we've ever had. The service is always in the right place at the right time. The food is indescribably delicious. The ambience is simply beautiful, the view of the cathedral combined with the delicious food and the service is simply a successful evening.

I stopped by by chance and wasn't expecting much. I think it would be a good idea to make a reservation and go with a view of the cathedral in front. The hand dumplings were just like instant dumplings, and the kimchi tuna stew and soybean paste stew were rich and delicious because they kept the Korean style well. I hope that the taste of the stew will not be localized in the future ^^ And the Korean manager who has been working with the male German employee for 6 months is really kind~~ I would like to praise the owner for selecting good employees!

During my trip to Germany, I tried some unexpectedly wonderful Korean food. Just having a Korean restaurant like this in Erfurt is a huge blessing during your trip to central-eastern Germany. I saw that German people were eating a lot of chicken-type food that suited the locals' tastes in restaurants, and the tuna kimchi stew and soybean paste stew maintained the Korean-style taste and original taste well. In particular, the soybean paste stew had a much richer and deeper flavor than the recent soybean paste stew trend in Korea. That part quenched my thirst as I couldn't eat much Korean food during my trip to Germany. The feeling of feeling tired for a few days has completely disappeared. I think they struck a good balance by keeping the Korean taste in the stew part while also adapting the chicken and meat dishes to some extent to suit local tastes. I hope that the restaurant will develop well while maintaining this identity. The owner's resume was very impressive, and both the Korean manager and local staff were very responsive and nice.

For the first time in Erfurt and was lucky to find a very good restaurant. Centrally located at the cathedral, owner-managed (German-Korean couple), delicious, rich, varied. Map is not too short and not too long, in sharp and in normal. We received friendly and entertaining service and were very well looked after. We were in the front of the restaurant with a view of the cathedral and cathedral square, the restaurant also extends further into the back of the building. The faucet in the men's toilet also deserves a comment. Unusual and surprisingly elegant. Make up your own mind.

Small restaurant but ok. The atmosphere is nice and homely. The service is good, quite fast, nice and friendly. The food looks very close to Korean dishes, but was extremely Germanized. Comparatively as far apart as pizza from tarte flambée. They look similar and the method of preparation is similar but otherwise they have nothing in common. The Korean style of seasoning was completely missing. This was very disappointing as we had been looking forward to it for a week. It's not meant to be bad, but it's not authentic. Unfortunately. Addendum: Yes!!! Anyone who, as a supposed connoisseur of Korean cuisine, believes that an offer (mandus) says something about quality and authenticity is wrong. We have not said anything about the quality or quantity. Only the authenticity (seasoning) can be improved. This also applies to Dolsot. The rice should develop a crispy layer and the egg should be raw (the version with a fried egg is rarer in Korea). In good restaurants, there is some broth separately and at least four side dishes (banchans), which ideally cover the tastes of salty, sweet, bitter and sour to round off the dish and, depending on your personal preferences, give the dish a certain kick. What did you want to achieve by comparing it to Chinese cuisine? We prefer the Korean one. You too? Then we'll stick with it ;-)

Das Personal ist überaus freundlich und schnell zugange. Ich habe mich gut beraten und betreut gefühlt. Hauptgang und Nachspeise waren geschmackvoll von guter bis sehr guter Qualität, nur war das Bulgogi nicht mehr richtig warm. Das hat das Geschmackserlebnis etwas getrübt, würde mich aber nicht abhalten, das Restaurant weiter zu empfehlen und beim nächsten Erfurt-Aufenthalt gerne wieder zu besuchen.

We had a seat by the window on the upper floor, the only problem for us was that it quickly became noisy as all the tables were occupied and it was therefore difficult for us to have a conversation. Still recommended in principle.

A must visit if your are in and around Erfurt, period. Mazing self made kimchi, all the food is neatly presented and are of the highest quality. The staff, especially the owners Jörn and Nami are amazing. You will instantly feel welcome and never alone. Your order is taken fast and the food comes in no time. For this price the restaurant is unbeatable. Perfect 10/10

We were standing in front of the restaurant and accidentally sat on the chairs in front of the restaurant. Unfortunately, the owner told us to get up in a rude tone. Even an older woman who had trouble standing was not allowed to sit down. I wouldn't feel comfortable in this restaurant.

We were there with 10 people (family) in the afternoon, great service, employee “Peter” offered us small tarts to go with our coffee, told us about the restaurant, etc… Went back the next day. Loving restaurant, modern, well-kept and clean. The staff is really nice and always up for fun. No McDonald's or kebab prices, but very good value for money. Old summer sunset with a view of Erfurt Cathedral was beautiful. Food was very tasty and fresh. Always happy ❤️
