Wirtshaus - Zum Fegerer in Aschaffenburg

We just wanted to grab a quick beer. Unfortunately, and this wasn't mentioned on the website, that wasn't possible. The website did state that dogs were allowed, but our request wasn't fulfilled. I learned that what was advertised as a tavern was actually just a restaurant. It was a shame, because the ambiance looked very nice, and although all the tables were reserved, they were all still free. The first server was very friendly. The second, however, politely asked us to leave, pointing out that it was a restaurant. Had I checked the website, we could have avoided this disappointment. Nevertheless, I wish Federer continued success. A similar notice regarding dogs would be a welcome improvement.

It was a long time since I'd had lunch at Fegerer's. For me, it's a place where I truly feel at home. This rustic, cozy atmosphere is rare these days, combined with the excellent food and attentive service. A well-deserved 5 stars. We had gnocchi with pumpkin and cordon bleu made with Iberico pork. We'll be back.

"Individually we are strong, as a team we achieve peak performance." If you measure the food by that standard, you have to say that this peak performance is somewhat lacking. First visit (by invitation) and a young man greets you at the restaurant carrying bagged salad and packets of Pfanni potatoes. That's what they call Traditional Regional Authentic And they sell it as "salad from the farmers market" and "roasted potatoes." After visiting last year, I avoided this establishment for Christmas dinner this year.

Unfortunately, we haven't had good experiences the last two years. We've been going to the Fegerer for Christmas for a very long time. Sadly, the quality of the goose has declined significantly. Last year, they brought me a cold goose; after I asked about it, they warmed it up in the microwave and served it again. This year, the goose was cold again. They tried again, and at least it wasn't cold this time, but it was dry. The dumplings were still raw inside, and the red cabbage was cold. Sadly, it's no longer the quality one used to expect. At least the staff was always friendly.

A lovely, traditional inn with very friendly and welcoming staff. There were four of us, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. Changing our order for side dishes was no problem at all. All in all, it was a wonderful and flavorful evening.

The ambiance was nice and the food was quite good. However, the portions were very small, especially considering the higher prices. Our waiter was friendly, while the rest of the staff seemed less attentive. Overall, it was a decent visit, but not so impressive that I would feel compelled to return.

For lunch we had roast pork with two kinds of dumplings and sauerkraut. Very tasty, a large portion at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

A super friendly team, a very cozy atmosphere, and incredibly delicious food at a fair price in generous portions. We felt very comfortable and were delighted that we could still have a romantic dinner here on such short notice, and especially that there were so many great vegan options. We'll be back!

A charming restaurant with excellent cuisine and outstanding service. Reservations are highly recommended, otherwise it can be difficult to get a table. The lunch menu is also recommended.

The char was very good. The rump steak was also very good, with reservations about the smoked barbecue sauce. In my opinion, it was far too overpowering. A pepper sauce, which I later learned was available, would certainly have been the better choice. Unfortunately, it wasn't listed on the menu.

We had two very good meals during our short break and thoroughly enjoyed them. The venison (the daily recommendation) with hazelnut spaetzle 😋 was delicious, the lamb fillet was cooked to perfection, and the snow pea salad was amazing. The tagliatelle with chanterelle mushrooms was sooooo delicious... We'll definitely be back when we're in the area.

Everything there is lovingly decorated and feels cozy, but there aren't many seats and it's relatively cramped, so you should make a reservation even at lunch. This speaks volumes about the atmosphere and the food.

We took a trip to Aschaffenburg this week and, of course, wanted to stop for lunch on the spur of the moment. Without even a greeting, we were first asked in a very unfriendly tone whether we had a reservation. After we said no, they replied, "We're always full, so we can't do without a reservation." Then they turned their backs on us again. It's not a problem for us, but it's the tone that makes the difference. Perhaps a etiquette course would be a good idea for the lady.

We were extremely satisfied and happy. You have to reserve a table, though—otherwise, you're out of luck. We can recommend it with a clear conscience.

The food was very good. The price/performance ratio was excellent. Online reservations worked perfectly. Finally, a restaurant that doesn't tolerate dogs and consistently enforces this policy. A definite plus point, especially for hygiene reasons. Other restaurants should follow suit.

We felt at home. The restaurant is located on a quiet street near the market square. In addition to the indoor seating, there is a cozy courtyard. The service was very good, friendly, and responsive to our requests. The food was well prepared and generously portioned. We would be happy to return.

Food, ambience, service everything perfect

We've eaten here several times, even without a reservation. The food is very good, but also a bit more expensive than the (equally good) restaurants nearby. The last two times, everything was supposedly reserved, even though more than half the tables were still free. We walked past twice more in the next two hours, but the unoccupied tables were still free. We were very annoyed about this and won't be going there again.

Even without a reservation, thanks to the attentive service, we found a seat for two in the rustic interior after a short wait. The food was very good, carefully prepared, and fresh.

Absolutely amazed by the wide variety of vegetarian/vegan options and extremely happy with the dishes served, which turned out to be as delicious as they sounded, we spontaneously stopped by today and fell into bed with full stomachs and a "we'll definitely be back." Veggies: This is for you!

Unfortunately, I didn't get to enjoy either the excellent food or the service. You have to make a reservation here, even though, I'm not lying, there were 15 free tables, and NO, there's no second chance. I hate it when my wife is looked up and down. No, she and my child aren't aliens, they're just from the Philippines. After the inspection, I was assured that the seats were reserved, but even after two hours, the tables were still free.

Reservation recommended! The only drawback: card payments should also be possible at the table and not just at the counter...

Every time I'm overwhelmed by this perfection. Everything is just right here! The ambiance is so homey and cozy, yet at the same time very chic and timeless. The food and drinks are out of this world; it was incredibly delicious! The server who served us was truly excellent! Thumbs up! If you haven't been here yet, you're definitely missing out!

An extremely diverse cuisine. The starter of scallops and salad, worthy of a top 5 rating. The Seibling with porcini mushroom risorto and pesto was a perfect combination. Nicely seasoned and juicy, fish fried to perfection. Everything tasted very good! A large portion that also allows a good wine. Very happy again!

Went to Fegerer yesterday for the first and certainly not the last time. Super nice staff, and equally great food. Certainly not for every day, as the slightly upscale special dishes are more than justifiable. Highly recommended.

It was our first time in the inn and we were very impressed by the varied menu, the daily specials and the very courteous service. The portions are absolutely sufficient and very tasty. We would love to come back. Thank you for the lovely evening.

A very pleasant lunch visit! As soon as we entered we were greeted warmly and the service was consistently attentive. Before ordering, there were two additional recommendations that sounded very appealing. We chose Zürcher Geschnetzeltes with Rösti (recommended daily) and porcini mushroom tortelloni with truffle-vegetable cream and roasted peanuts. Both dishes tasted excellent and were beautifully presented. Another plus: the toilets were extremely clean. A little tip – it’s better to reserve in advance as it was well attended. We'd love to come back!

One of the best restaurants I've been to. What should be highlighted is the very varied selection of vegan dishes, which also impresses passionate meat eaters. Because: it is super tasty and fits in very well with the menu. The service is fantastic and so is the ambience. Both inside and outside in the courtyard.

On Sunday, February 2nd, my wife and I enjoyed the most delicious meals we have had in a very long time! The food looked really nice, tasted really good and the portions were just right! Service was also great, but I didn't check the name.

We went here for dinner last night - on the recommendation of our hotel. A very nice meal and a great ambience! We were very happy that we were able to get a table. We had the veal schnitzel with potato salad and the sauerbraten. Both were excellent. Absolutely reasonable portions and everything was very tasty. Before we started, we toasted with the house aperitif - also very tasty. We were very impressed with the pleasant service. Conclusion: We would definitely come back!

My 2 star rating refers exclusively to the grill plate shown that I ate there. And that was by far the worst I've ever had. Three loveless pieces of meat and this little mini deep fryer with fries. That was all. Maybe the chef should get some inspiration from the internet and find out what belongs on a grill plate. In addition to the meat, for example: Djuvec rice Grilled vegetables Onions Ajvar, tzatziki or garlic dip and much more. Maybe just type grill plates into Google and look at the pictures. And paying 26€ for that is already audacious. By the way the service was very good. Update to your answer: I have eaten grilled dishes in many restaurants. Both at Croatians, Greeks, Italians and also in German restaurants. Everywhere there was at least onions, some grilled vegetables or a dip. I assure you that it will be even better received.

We were there for lunch on January 6, 2025. There was already a place specially prepared for our grandchild with painting supplies, so we immediately felt welcome. The staff were all very friendly as was the food and service super. We would love to come back here.
