The food was way too expensive. It was extremely cold in the restaurant and the door couldn't be closed for some inexplicable reason... The food wasn't good either and was cold.

One star is still too many. Avoid this “restaurant”. Ready-made carving, baking tray, like from the Aldi freezer. Lowest level, but price of 20 euros for the schnitzel.

The restaurant is located in the very center of Cochem. Outside, banners indicate good prices for main dishes. Inside the restaurant, from the menu - it turns out that these dishes at these prices are only for seniors or teenagers under 16... Medium-sized cutlets, oversalted. Three stars for friendly service...

I can't recommend the place. Unfortunately, one star is too many for everything. The schnitzel was super small and the fries were cheap. Unfortunately everything came to the table cold and the door was open the whole time and wasn't closed. I ate with a jacket on and it was cold.

Very beautiful view , the food was however okayish. The vegetarian flamkukken was good however the red tomato soup was okayish and the mushrooms balls had lots of oil

We were actually going to the Italian place and walked in here. Thinking it was Italian but the menu seemed off. First do not order the water. It's 10 euro...most ever I have seen anywhere. It was freezing in there as they had the door open and boss refused to close it. So we froze eating. Food was ok. But our screw up and we paid for it.

The food was a complete disaster. Fries cold and not ready. Schnitzel didn't taste good + a feather of whatever animal on the thawed tarte flambée. Waiters only laugh when you give the food back. Super nice shop with terrible food.

Just don't eat here! I returned my schnitzel. Terribly prepared ready meals for absolutely high prices! The frying oil was old. There were four of us in the restaurant. One of my friends ordered steak and vomited several times during the night. Where are the responsible authorities?! Unreasonable!!! By the way - the cyclist costs €7.90! Like the beer, but it's not on the menu. Just rip off and cheeky.

Positive: quite nice atmosphere, friendly (but somewhat slow) service. The Elbling is very tasty and a fair price for the bottle. Absolutely negative: a really disgusting tasting aioli, musty-tasting, baked roll. 1 bottle of Apollinaris €9.90 - that's outrageous. NO recommendation at all!!!

We were there to end the day with a cozy meal. What was first noticeable was that the place was just draughty and cool because the doors were open. We thought to ourselves, we'll stay anyway. However, the big shock came later. The rump steak I ordered, which was supposed to be medium rare, arrived completely cooked through. The potato wedges were only lukewarm. My partner's meal was supposed to be tarte flambée with salmon, but it came with small prawns. As if that wasn't enough, the tarte flambée was ice cold and not edible. Since we were so hungry, some of the food was eaten. When we asked the landlord about it, they only offered a coffee on the house. After saying no, the starter was refunded to us. All in all, it wasn't nice there. Everything was far too tight and the service took a long time when ordering and paying. Despite the discount, there was a hefty bill of almost €82 for two people. Personally, I can't recommend this restaurant to anyone and I won't eat there again. Unfortunately the reviews reflect our experience and in the future I will probably look at other people's experiences first.

The food is underground. I ordered a tarte flambée. It was cold. And too expensive for that at 17.90. It was drafty in the inn itself. When we complained about the food, only the starter was deducted from the price. My fiancé ordered a medium rump steak, it was carelessly prepared and definitely just luke warm. That's what it was for Steak well done. This then cost €34.90. Value for money for this meal is completely wrong. It's a shame but unfortunately not recommended.

A walk through Cochem took us to the Dudelsack restaurant on January 21st, 2025 A special ambience greeted us and we were happy to have found something open despite the otherwise 90% closures of shops and cafés/restaurants. Unfortunately, we regretted it...since even when the outside temperature was 2 degrees, the entrance door was kept wide open and the door remained open even after repeated requests from guests, so there was a lot of draft. The answer came from the nice waiter...that he wasn't allowed to close it loudly Boss. The table was icy cold so that it was very unpleasant to touch it and even the food cooled down immediately. It's a macabre imposition and if the food hadn't already been ordered, we would have left this inhospitable house immediately. There is a health risk here and I contacted the Cochem public order office. After 2 different calls, I was informed that the responsible employee was on vacation for 2 weeks and therefore it could not be processed. Unfortunately, when I asked to speak to the responsible department manager, this was not possible. Reference was made to a callback. For me it is inexplicable that a timely reaction is apparently not possible, even though we saw that a police car was checking the parking lot. What would be the problem in sending these employees to this restaurant for information? The owner seems to have been handling the door this way for weeks, as I can see from the extremely negative reviews. It would be desirable that a one-time call with information about such a macabre act would also trigger immediate action by the public order office. I hope that there is a need for quick action here I suggest to the restaurant owner that he himself be a guest in his ice palace...really macabre...door wide open and a fan heater on the ceiling that runs but blows into the blue. That's what I call climate neutral 🙈

The 1st star is still too much. I've never eaten as badly as I did there. The schnitzel was like rubber. The currywurst wasn't even grilled. The service was nice and friendly. The ambience is ok. And unfortunately almost the entire promenade belongs to the same owner. You should go more into the small side streets. You get quality for low prices.

Is it really that bad? We didn't even dare to order anything after our drinks, including a coffee for €4.40. All around us were complaining and sending back food. It's strange that a restaurant doesn't smell like food, but that's true here. They don't serve food. RECOMMENDATION

I have a completely different impression than many here who have written reviews. We had chicken schnitzel with hunter's sauce, fries and salad and pork schnitzel with cream sauce and fries. Tomato salad with feta and rocket. Everything tasted good, was well tolerated, and the fat was therefore fresh. We are very sensitive to this and have had no problems. The atmosphere is interesting and quaint. The service was super nice and courteous. The price-performance ratio was absolutely fine. We liked it and would come again.

I don't recommend at all. The environment is pleasant but otherwise not worth it. 250ml of water 4.40 euros. The meat was awful and I don't know what meat it was. I asked the waiter what stuff and, he didn't even know. The black coffee was only water as well 4.40 euros. We asked for information on the menu, he explained almost nothing to us. I will never go there again.

Such a juice shop. The whole meal was a disaster. I can't describe it as bad. 0 out of 6 stars...It's cold outside and they leave the door wide open. And when asked to please close the door, the answer was simply no. So the waitress is really good at it. Calculation is out of the question. Leider haben wir uns von der draußen angebrachten Speisekarte und dem Ambiente blenden lassen. Speisen und Getränke total überteuert. Das Kinderschnitzel noch roh, die der Erwachsenen scheinbar kurz im Frittenfett erwärmt. Pommes lauwarm und so hart, dass man sie nicht Aufgaben konnte. Soße Geschmackssache. ABSOLUTE TOURISTENFALLE

Wir waren zum Mittagessen mit 5 Personen dort. Bestellt haben wir 1 kleines Bier(7,90€), ein Glas Sprudel ( 5,90€) 1 Glas Wein (7,90€), 0,2 l stilles Wasser( 4,40€) Diverse kleine Mittagsgerichte( Currywurst 11,90€) Die Qualität des Essens war akzeptabel. Beim Abkassieren mussten wir an die Theke gehen obwohl an anderen Tischen auch kassiert wurde. Es war nur Bezahlung der gesamten Rechnung durch eine Person möglich“( habe keine Zeit zum auseinanderrechnen“) Insgesamt nicht empfehlenswert!!!

Save your money and don't eat here. We had a spaetzle pan and tarte flambée. It wasn't tasty and the drinks were overpriced. It was also very cold in the guest room because the outside door was always open. Asking them to close does no good! They said they couldn't close it. An open door is probably intended to attract guests.

Bad food, starter we sent back was stale. The main course was already cold and my partner did not have the ingredients listed on the menu. But don't understand the design, it looks cozy and stands on the road to bring people in. But because everything is open, it is very cold inside. Unfortunately, as a tourist you can be deceived by the great ambience. The place looks super decorated, but the food is reminiscent of subpar fast food with tiny portions at outrageously high prices. You expect great food here and then you get a potato with a bit of average chicken for almost 23 euros without salad. The chicken schnitzel (terrible consistency, below average taste) had a few careless fries thrown on it and that was it. Also zero side dishes. Ketchup wasn't even asked. Like a salad, but I don't want to know how much it would have cost... Cola 6.90, water 5.90... crazy. Never again, if only we had read the reviews first! If you closed the kitchen here and put in a Western or pirate-themed theme park ride instead, that would be a better choice. The decoration would be perfect. The joke was that the door was permanently open, probably for the convenience of the service staff... That's ok in summer, but not when the outside temperature is 0 degrees!! So, despite all the anger over food, you also felt cold. Too bad.

I think some people should think carefully about whether gastronomy is the right career field. My wife and I ordered a “schnitzel” with “fries” and a drink for each. A “Fanta” and a “beer”. The Fanta had such a stale taste and tasted really cheap, just like the beer. It has never happened to me that I didn't finish a drink. Well, the schnitzel was the biggest disaster. We were also given ketchup and mayonnaise from "Gut und Günstig". In addition, the price calculation is completely disproportionate. How can a large Fanta cost 6.90 and a beer 7.90, let alone the schnitzel per head 15.90, which is carelessly prepared and you can push the breading, which is so soggy, to the side. This restaurant is bait. On the outside it looks like a friendly relaxing place next to a beautiful river, and that's all the positivity I have for this place. We sat down and immediately had to order, even though we told the waitress to wait. The coffee was okay, but the flammkuchen and apfelstrudel were disgusting. The flammkuchen had too much crème frêche and the apfelstrudel was 'fresh' out of the freezer I suppose. The cherry on top was the check. We paid 20€ for the most mid flammkuchen and around 6€ per drink. If you plan to have coffee in Cochem, please skip this restaurant. Even though there is a friendly waitress on the street luring you inside, the reviews on google maps don't lie about the abominable quality of this place.

The staff were friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately, that was the highlight of our visit. The bread served as a starter tasted expired and stale, accompanied by aioli that was equally off-putting. The rest of the meal didn’t fare any better, leaving us disappointed and questioning the overall quality of the food. The bathrooms were another major letdown—dirty, poorly maintained, and giving off an unpleasant odor. This lack of cleanliness was mirrored in the restaurant itself, which also had a strange smell that lingered throughout our visit. While the aesthetics and the staff showed promise, the restaurant failed to deliver where it matters most: food quality and hygiene. A disappointing experience overall.

Absolutely not recommended. Everything was overpriced. I had three fruit flies under the cream in my Irish coffee. I then complained to the waiter. He didn't elaborate on it other than "oh, I'm sorry" but charged the full price for it. The apple strudel was for the price of 7.90 a bottomless impudence. That was the first and last time that we were there.

We were there today because we were hungry, that restaurant is probably the last one!!! The schnitzel frozen products and then death freezes! The pepper frames. is 100% from the wholesaler out of the bucket and had been open for a long time and tasted very rancid! We had herb butter with bread again for 5.90 euros, a very proud price for two tiny slices of bread with a small portion of herb butter that had definitely been left uncovered in the refrigerator for days, terrible taste after refrigeration and rancid! All in all, I would have expected more for the price of 75.60 euros and not such crap that doesn't even come close to snack quality! After our complaint when paying, we were more or less expelled from the house and told they would never come back!!! Should you recommend it to others, of course to the health department!!!

Staff nice and fast, had a drink with 5 people, paying €35 for 2 beers, 2 cokes and a cappuccino. Beer tasted like nothing, for the first time I left a beer after a sip. Not recommended along with all other reviews.

If you want to feel cold while eating, feel free to go there. When I asked to close the door, I was told that the boss didn't want that. It's strange that all guests sit indoors wearing jackets. The fries were very light and cooled quickly, but the schnitzel was very brown. Shame about the money.

I don't recommend it at all. The quality of the food leaves a lot to be desired. Everything seems to have been taken straight from the freezer and without any care in the preparation. To make matters worse, the prices are abusive. The service doesn't help either: the waitress who served us was unfriendly and not attentive, as if it bothered her to do her job. The only positive thing is the location and that the place is nice inside, but it's not worth spending here... a shame.

Very cold in the restaurant. Reserved table not available. Had to wait for the table and were not offered drinks. Finally at the table and only received a drink after 40 minutes. Bread rock hard. Fries were cold. Some schnitzels were cold. Flammkuche cold and burnt. Indicated that fries were cold and received new ones, which were then added to the bill. Toilets too dirty to use. Finally, accompanied at the table by fruit flies who were interested in the cold food. Restaurant did nothing with the bill.

The cutlery was dirty and some of it still had leftover food hanging on it. Had schnitzel and fried fish each with fries. For a bottle of water that isn't even 1L, €10 is simply too much. The fries were cheap frozen fries as was the fried fish. A homemade cucumber salad is offered. This arrived and you could already see that it had been standing for a few days and the last remnants were simply being scraped together. The yogurt dressing on the salad was already completely dried out. When we asked to replace the lettuce because it tasted strange, we were only told that we had run out of lettuce and that they had nothing left. You can then think of your part... The only positive thing is the view and that the food was served quickly. However, the taste was pretty bad and there was a lack of spice.

It looks very nice, but drinks are very expensive and the food is nothing special. Main course was served while eating the starter. The wind blows cold in the front part of the restaurant, but the staff are not allowed to close the door to attract new customers. In short, not recommended!

It looks very cozy from the outside, but also cozy on the inside, although cold. The food is not great, schnitzel was disappointing, fries were not tasty. We were still eating the starter, then the main course arrived, which was not nice. The drinks made it very expensive, which really shocked us, 6 euros for a coke and almost 10 euros for a beer. Overpriced cheap frozen food that was served floating in deep fryer fat. The cucumber salad was oversalted, very dill heavy and ice cold. The waitresses were friendly and helpful. The view of the Moselle is nice, but it doesn't make the food any better. The local winemakers can recommend good restaurants, but we were subsequently advised against Bagpipes and other restaurants run by the same operator.

Wij hebben er met 15 personen gegeten, kregen niet allemaal tegelijk ons eten. Wij hebben hierna gevraagd en als antwoord kregen wij ee grote mond door de serveerster. Toen de rest van de familie het eten kreeg werd en nog een valse opmerking gemaakt. Het eten was wisselend, een deel kreeg lekker eten, een deel was lauw maar ook te hard gebakken schnitzel. Drinken is erg duur.

We had a great experience, food was tasty, generous portions, hot and served quickly. We had a delightful waitron. Only downside was the Apperol Spritz which did not meet Milan's Spritz standard but I should have just ordered a beer - my fault. Thank you for your hospitality!

They will never see me there again! The food was cold and not tasty, they brought us food and we had no cutlery, we ordered cucumber salads and they were forgotten! When our main course was almost finished, they only brought the salads, a small bowl cost €5.90 for 7 slices of cucumber, a real shame! The owner should really be ashamed!

The food was a complete disaster. We ordered schnitzel and 2 starters, one starter tasted musty and the second starter came after we got the main course. There was a thick black hair in one of the schnitzels, and overall everything was almost cold and carelessly slapped onto the plate. After our complaint, we only had to pay for the drinks without any apology. Afterwards we only had to pay for the cheap wine and the cheap no-name water (the bottle cost a whopping 10 euros) and we ended up with 41 euros. It is incomprehensible that this very nice restaurant is being driven into the wall by simply selling disgusting food.

Apart from the beautiful ambience and the view of the Moselle, we unfortunately cannot give this restaurant a good rating. The schnitzel week was advertised at €12.90 per schnitzel. When I look at the menu, I notice that a normal schnitzel costs a minimum of €15.90. The food was only lukewarm and didn't taste good at all. The staff, on the other hand, was super friendly and quick. Even the staff confirmed that some guests had already complained about the bad food. But the chef doesn't seem to care. It was the first and last time we visited this restaurant. And the overpriced prices are simply an absolute disgrace for this quality.

If there were zero stars, I would give them. The food was cold, the Käsepätzle was cold spaghetti with a slice of cheese. The food was way too expensive and really not edible. One star goes to the nice service, who couldn't do anything about the food and can only make you feel sorry for them.

The food didn't even deserve one star. We really can't recommend it. Aioli with bread. Aioli tasted terrible and bread was old and like rubber. Our schnitzels were extremely thin, as was the sauce and the fries were cold. Prices different than stated outside. The outrageousness, the prices for the drinks. An incredible €7.90 for 0.4 liters of wheat beer. Never again. We saved photos.

So looking forward to a schnitzel, but we came home from a literal rude awakening. After waiting half an hour, a cold flammkuche was placed on the table as a starter. People around us had already walked away angry because it took so long. The main course was also sent back next to us because it was cold. We didn't wait for our main course and left again. When leaving, ask €24 for three drinks and old baguette. The entire bar was literally full of dishes that had been returned by other guests! Please, take all the bad reviews and mine to heart and NEVER eat here!

Zo verheugd op een schnitzel, maar we kwamen van een letterlijke koude kermis thuis. Na een half uur wachten werd als voorgerecht een koude flammkuche op tafel neergezet. Om ons heen waren al mensen boos weggelopen, omdat het zo lang duurde. Ook werd naast ons het hoofdgerecht teruggestuurd, omdat het koud was. We hebben niet ons op ons hoofdgerecht gewacht en zijn weer vertrokken. Bij het weggaan nog wel even €24 vragen voor drie drankjes en oud stokbrood. De hele bar stond werkelijk vol met gerechten die waren teruggestuurd door andere gasten! Alsjeblieft, neem alle slechte reviews en die van mij ter harte en ga hier NOOIT eten!

Selten so schlecht gegessen. Dafür aber teuer. Draußen wird für die Schnitzelwoche geworben/11,90€ zum locken In der Karte steht dann kleines Schnitzel 11,90 € normales 14,90 € Tk-Schnitzel Von Bestellung bis servieren 5min...... Getränke sehr teuer. Empfehlung: Karte lesen... Kurz überlegen....dann der Bedienung sagen warum man wieder geht.

This was a big disappointment. Food was really not tasty! Even the coke was dead. Never again!

That was the first and last time we were there. The schnitzel was frozen and the fried onions were ready-made which were disgusting. The only thing that was edible were the fries 🍟 and the cola Never again and absolutely not recommended

Cold steak with a thick tendon paid the most expensive price Snitsel looked like he had already been warmed up 3 times
