There's actually no point from us! The food leaves a lot to be desired and that too for the price. Not even at the level of a chip shop, but prices and quantities like in a star restaurant. Definitely not recommended!!

The food is shocking, it's like a Chinese takeaway. It's a lovely place, great views, but the food is absolutely crap.

We had arranged to meet there for lunch as part of a club tour. A friendly employee came relatively quickly to take our drink order and these were also served quickly. Shortly afterwards we wanted to order food, which unfortunately took longer, even though the hut wasn't even full. My friend then ordered the knuckle with baguette and I ordered the spaetzle with mushrooms and parmesan (which had actually been pre-ordered for some time because we were such a large group). It took longer than expected, but that wasn't so bad given the great view outside. Then the food came... my spaetzle was lukewarm and tasted more like a finished product. Too bad. But I wasn't surprised at all by the huge selection on the menu. Less is more. Better quality than quantity. (; My friend's knuckle was very good, but the three slices of braguette were so hard that you could have put stones on the plate. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here. And the drinks are way too expensive in my opinion. But overall the staff was very friendly. Ambience is quaint and appropriate. But I would definitely prefer to go to another restaurant on my next visit to Cochem.

To avoid. Dishes way too expensive for the value and the only goal is to make a quick buck. We had ordered something without fries and had to pay a lot more as the waiter refused to give us the reference prices of the menu. It’s a real tourist restaurant with no quality.

I've never eaten as bad as today. I had gypsy schnitzel and my wife had Jägerschnitzel, both with fries. The fries didn't taste like anything and were weak and rubbery. The schnitzels were (ready-made schnitzels) just thrown into the deep fryer and soaked in oil and thrown onto the plate. There was also mayonnaise and ketchup from Ja EDKA. The 0.5 liter house wine was tasty and the whole thing for €62. We are often in Cochem but the food was a disgrace. We cannot recommend this shop and will never go there again.

Me and my girlfriend (and our 18 month son) went for a day out in Cochem and when passing by the Wirtshaus decided to have lunch there. Pros: - The decoration looks nice. - The service was fast and helpful (Tuesday lunch time, with less than half the house full). Cons: - The restaurant feels/is cramped (my girlfriend struggled to leave her spot since there was another table right behind her. - The menu is quite confusing. - We ordered two flammkuchen, one of them with shrimps (very tiny shrimps) loosely spread. - There were some people smoking on the terrace (probably still a German thing?) - There were small bits of glass on the floor, that we noticed we sat our son on the floor just to pick him up straight away. - Expensive (almost 50€ for two flammkuchen, one beer and one ice tea).

Visually great, service average, but everything else leaves a lot to be desired. Bitburger advertising, but they serve Felsgold Metrobier, which actually tastes great, but it's not drinkable here and at horrendous prices. The schnitzel was frozen, the sauce was definitely not homemade and the fries were average. This restaurant is definitely not recommended.

Because of the great location, we went to this restaurant in good spirits without looking at the reviews first. So much in advance. This will never happen to us again! About 10 minutes after ordering, the “food” was already on the table. Dr. Oetker's tarte flambée was still edible. Even if you can get it on the frozen food shelf for about a third of the price. The spit roast, from a trusted butcher, was just horrible. Dry. Without a crispy crust. Likewise the fries! There wasn't much else to discover on the plate. The absolute worst point was reached when I let the food go back (for the first time ever. I've never done anything like that before!). I also mentioned that I would only pay for our drinks and the tarte flambée. The waiter then took the plate away more or less without comment. As if this were happening multiple times a day. It's unbelievable how a restaurant like this can survive in such a great location.

Were there at the beginning of August. Ordered an Aperol Spritz. The drink was expected in the usual Aperol Spritz glass. We received a 0.2l wine glass, filled mainly with ice. In other words, the actual drink was reduced to a minimum. This for a whopping €9.90 per glass. That's the bottom drawer. Bad rip-off.

! Tourist rip-off! The prices are outrageous, The food is cheap frozen food and ready-made products. Mayo and ketchup are available straight from the tube from Gut und Günstig. Condition seems listless and friendly criticism was responded to with indifference and disinterest. I've never felt so blatantly ripped off in a restaurant. The "restaurants" next door are similar to this one. It's a shame that restaurants like this occupy the best location in an otherwise beautiful place.

I actually don't agree with the opinions of many other review writers. Sure, the food doesn't come from a star restaurant and the portion and taste are rather average, but anything but bad. Combined with the view of the Moselle, beautiful lighting and friendly staff, you can still create a unique evening that you won't soon forget. At least that was the case for me. I went into this restaurant with a completely open mind and was not disappointed. Clear recommendation from me!

It was a shame to pay almost 17 euros for a not freshly prepared Jägerschnitzel with ready-made Jäger sauce😡😡😡😡 and there was no salad😡😡. The portion is more like a children's portion. We also had a cordon bleu (same children's portion) and tomato bruschetta for 9 euros, which was outrageously expensive for the portion. There's no need to take money out of holidaymakers' pockets like that. We paid almost 73 euros with the drinks.

Eating was a disaster, there were 4 of us eating and all 4 Had a very miserable schnitzel followed by vomiting and diarrhea - these dishes are inedible and cannot be recommended!!!! Avoid this “restaurant” if possible! My friend and I took a trip to Cochem today. When we were looking for a restaurant for dinner, “this shop” caught our eye because of its beautiful ambience with a view of the Moselle. The “guy” in front of the store should have been a warning to us. The bagpipes were well attended, but we still managed to get a seat outside. Actually, I always read the reviews beforehand, unfortunately and to our detriment, not this time. This won't happen again in the future. As soon as we looked at the map we noticed the very high and underground prices, but we didn't let that put us off at first. We ordered cola twice, almost undrinkable and barely carbonated, but that shouldn't be the worst part of our stay. We decided on the Spätzle pan, I said you can't go wrong with it, and a schnitzel with pepper cream sauce. While we were waiting (50 minutes) for our food, we noticed that some of the other guests' plates were being returned half full. The schnitzel we ordered was clearly frozen, as was the dollop of sauce on it. The fries were okay but dry. The spaetzle pan was really inedible, it was completely over peppered and had a very strange and old taste. We let us go back again. The waiters didn't ask us or the next table whether it was tasty, for good reason! We have never eaten so badly and paid over €40 for it, really disgusting. This food made us sick and even worse after reading through the only negative reviews. NEVER AGAIN!

Went there and ordered Jägerschnitzel, visually what I got looked like Jägerschnitzel, the taste said otherwise. I've never been to a snack bar where I've ever been served something so lousy, which simply tasted terrible and I chose not to eat, and that's what we call a pub. I can only recommend everyone not to visit this inn.

Leider haben wir uns von der schönen Inneinrichtung blenden lassen. Mein Flammkuchen war noch kalt. Die Schnitzel meiney Mannes ließen sich kaum schneiden und waren recht dünn. Preis für meinen kleinen Flammkuchen 17,20 Euro. BIER O,4 7,90 Cola 0,4 5,90. Einfach Abzocke. Unsere schöne Fahrradtour hatte leider diesen schlechten Abschluss. Der 1 PUNKT ist für das freundliche Personal. Toiletten auch nicht sauber. Nie wieder!

Rarely fell into a major tourist trap. The location on the Moselle is good, otherwise we wouldn't have gone in here. Without thinking about it, into a pub. On the table next door is Gut&Günstig Mayo from a tube. Mushroom spaetzle like from a bag of canned mushrooms. Onion schnitzel ok (I expect more) and the fried onions were lots of canned ones instead of quality. The beer was measured straight away, everything else is overpriced. Who wasn't there when we arrived: the chatterbox in front of the store. It came later and would have been a warning to us.

Sfeer was niet slecht. Bediening was ook niet verkeerd. Het eten daarentegen... Had een Griekse Schnitzel en een naturel schnitzel besteld... De griekse was een naturel met een kwak yoghurt met knoflook en een halve ui in blokjes. De naturel was niet gaar(niet handig met kip) maar wel taai. De komkommer salade was goed te eten. Ze weten wel van prijzen, een glas Cocacola zero was €5.90(!) en nog dood ook... Dit was eens maar nooit meer! Je kunt beter eten tegen lagere prijzen krijgen. Dudelsack is een ordinaire vreetschuur!!

Only the façade is left of the German tavern charm. Demanding 7.90 euros (as of August 2024) for a 0.4l beer is quite an impertinence, even in a tourist area, not to mention waiting 15 minutes for it. Luckily I didn't eat anything; various people were hoping for more from the food, as was heard all around.

Well, the reviews here are generally not good. Our story is from the EC match between Germany and Spain. We had a nice evening here, if you're from Norway everything costs a lot more anyway, so we can't complain about the prices. We ate Bruscetta, and we liked it!

Really very nice atmosphere. We sat on the top floor. The view is very cool. Really great. The food was very tasty. The prices were fair. The service was very friendly. All in all, a very successful lunch. We will definitely save this address for next time. We'd love to come back.

Cold food returned. 30 minutes later I received a very peppery and quite salty (albeit warm) steak. The rest of the family was already ready. And patience ran out. I ate the steak (without fries and just 2 pieces of old toasted baguette, super hard) and left. Drinking is super expensive. Staff couldn't apologize or even say hello. I certainly didn't feel welcome here. Never going here again!

Cappuccino arrived, cup half full and a small pile of foam on top. Could have been dishwater. 0.4l liter beer 7.80€!!!! More than outrageous. Ordered apple strudel at the same time, didn't arrive within 25 minutes, the drinks were already empty and we wanted to pay. The waitress wanted to settle everything, but when we said that the apple strudel wasn't coming they just looked confused. We didn't want to pay him! Then she just said “it took a while”. So there actually wasn't even a "sorry" or anything like that, not even after paying.

What a cozy restaurant this is. You can sit both inside and outside. Has a very special, attractive interior. We sat here every evening last weekend and had a delicious meal and for an affordable price. The Wiener schnitzel and cordonbleu are highly recommended. I have a gastric bypass myself, so I'm a small eater, but nothing to complain about, they have plenty of choice. The cucumber salad was also delicious. As soon as we are back in Cochem in October, they will definitely see us again. Nice service too👍

The most expensive and worst cream schnitzel I've ever eaten (€18.90), schnitzel from the frozen discount store, mushrooms from the can and the ready-made sauce, and everything was too salty. Should have read the reviews first.

I went to this restaurant today with my girlfriend's family. The staff was very friendly and we didn't have to wait long for the food, but I thought 20€ for a "normal size" schnitzel that had little side dish was a lot. But I lost my appetite after I spotted a hair between my fries. I don't necessarily recommend the restaurant and would leave it as a one-off visit.

A very nice location with a view of the Moselle. Unfortunately, the miserable food ruins the whole atmosphere. The Greek grill plate was catastrophic, toe like chewing gum. Zero points for eating!!! 😡

Unfortunately, the restaurant received an award: worst food you can imagine. There were three of us here and we spent an incredible amount of money on a bad ready-made meal. All three have stomach pain and discomfort. The tarte flambées were cold and definitely ready-made. The schnitzel was probably more of a “defrosted and then fried” category... Cucumber salad was very bad and fries were too salty... Absolute tourist rip-off!

Das Schnitzel war gar nicht das schlimmste... gehe für 13 Euro gar nicht davon aus das es die beste Qualität besitzt... ALLERDINGS 7.90€ für ein alkoholfreies Radler zu verlangen ist absolute Abzocke und habe ich noch nirgends erlebt!!! Fühle mich einfach nur abgezockt... eine Unverschämtheit! Das können deutlich größere Städte wesentlich besser!

If you want the worst quality at the highest price, you should eat here but it's best to avoid the restaurant. Everything is frozen, the food is cold and only tastes like pepper and the supposed champion cream sauce, disgusting. Water 0.2L for €4.40, total rip-off. There were 8 of us here and apart from fries you can't eat anything here. Luckily we didn't get food poisoning. It would be necessary for the health department to pay an urgent visit here. Please just avoid!!!!! Unless you want to have the worst restaurant experience.

This is also a shop that belongs to the “Cochem Mafia”. Drinks extremely expensive. Just the ambience is great. Definitely avoid it if possible. What do I mean by “Cochem Mafia”? Several restaurants have the same menu and only cater to ignorant tourists. Just for example: Kölsch bottle 0.33 for 4.90 euros!! You won't find bargain prices here!

Die Gaststätte sah sehr gut und auch gemütlich aus, die Kellner waren sehr freundlich, dann hörte es aber auch schon auf. Das Essen war einfach nur schlecht, ein Braumeistersteak war eine Scheibe trockenes Fleisch mit einer Hand voll getrockneten Röstzwiebeln oben drauf und fertig. Das war nur ein Beispiel, die anderen Essen sahen ähnlich schlecht aus. Und das alles zu sehr hohen Preisen. Schade eigentlich, nicht zu empfehlen.

So the view was the only good thing about visiting the restaurant. For just under €40 you got a “rump steak” that was more like a neck steak, fatty and tough at the same time. Instead of medium, we got “through.” The accompanying "mushroom cream sauce" was also more peppery sauce than anything else. There wasn't even a side salad for the price. The knuckle was also more raw than anything else. Clearly not a recommendation.

Stay well away from this restaurant we ate here 18/06/2024, we ordered fish and chips (wife) schnitzel and chips(me), the food was absolutely terrible, we ordered our food and it was on the table in 5mins,both me and the wife looked at our meals and realised it was frozen food from the local supermarket as for the drinks they were we're way overpriced, my advice is STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS RESTAURANT giving it 1 star is way to much

The worst and most expensive meal of my life. 1 bottle of still water €9.90. Wheat on tap but only 0.4l costs almost €8. Absolute tourist rip-off. The toilets were also very unclean and dirty. It never happens to me anymore that I only read the reviews afterwards. The wedges collapsed completely and were inedible. This was communicated to the waitress but there was no response whatsoever. The sauces were prepackaged.

Wir waren am Freitag den 14.06. 24 dort , um vor dem EM Eröffnung Spiel zu speisen. Hoffnungsvoll haben wir bestellt. Es waren keine 10 Minuten vergangen, wurde uns schon etwas Serviert, obwohl der Laden sehr voll war. Das servierte war dann unser bestelltes Essen :-((((((((. Mein " Aldi TK Cordon Blue " war in der Fritteuse so verbacken , dass man es nicht mehr schneiden konnte.. Die Pillzsoße bei meiner Frau, war wohl aus einer Knorrmischung , die beim verrühren mit Wasser vergessen wurde zu erwärmen ( evtl. RESTWÄRMNUTZUNG VOM GERICHT ???). Das gleiche beim Freund meiner Tochter. Die gereichten Getränke schienen auch nicht von normaler Qualität. Alles in allen , ein sehr schlechter Abend für fast 180€. Das Servicepersonnal war nett, tut mir aber auch richtig leid, da sie sich für so einen Schrott immer rechtfertigen müssen. Bitte von dieser Gaststätte in Cochem Abstand halten.

Price performance ratio unfortunately catastrophic. Schnitzel frozen goods and very greasy. Drinks overpriced. The service staff was nice and the view of the Moselle was very nice. But that was it. Definitely not recommended.

Catastrophic! The alleged spit roast was not a spit roast, but a pig that had been roasted three times to death!!!! The thawing water from the freezer is running out of the schnitzel!!! The fries rancid and cold with “good and cheap mayonnaise”! A cappuccino is available as compensation... so if you want a cappuccino for 21.90 euros, you can pay a visit to this restaurant. The beautiful view of the Moselle is no use either.

The fried schnitzel was average, the sauces, hunters and peppers, tasted mixed or something similar... The fries, tasted rather below average, but good and cheap mayo and ketchup were put on the table free of charge. The coleslaw for 5.90 in a bowl is on the verge of being too salty. This can be done better... I can't rate the service. This was without much communication other than taking the order. The receipt was rather thrown away... We would have liked to wish you a nice evening and see you soon. Unfortunately we forgot to pay the tip...

Really not recommended apart from the location and the ambience. The tarte flambée with shrimp and salmon was bottomless, when we asked if we could order it without shrimp and only with salmon, we were told that it wasn't possible. (Because frozen) Some of the shrimp still had the intestines in it and the taste was really underground, we couldn't eat the tarte flambée. In addition, the price of €18 is too high. Not recommendable!!!

In short: COMPLETE DISASTER! Worst convenience ever. If only we had read the reviews beforehand.

World’s WORST Schnitzel. Please do not come here, it will ruin your day. The waitress with red hair is very very rude. The price to satisfaction ratio would be ZERO. I rather just drink from the Mosel river to fill my stomach than eating here.

I had dinner there with my girlfriend on Whitsunday. Unfortunately, that was a fatal mistake. My schnitzel was quite small and was fried rock hard. You could hardly chew it. The fries had no seasoning and the sauce tasted like it came from a ready-made package. This was by far the worst meal I have ever eaten in a “restaurant”. The quality of the food was more like a French fries stand. In contrast to the food, the prices are high. 2x main course + 2x drink 56€ Unfortunately it wasn't worth it at all. Unfortunately, we only read the reviews after we had already ordered our food. That was a mistake we won't make again. 2 stars only for the beautiful terrace Staff was friendly

We were really looking forward to a good, delicious meal in the best atmosphere and a great view of the Moselle. For the starter there was "Oven-fresh baguette with herb butter". We got 4 slices of old bread with hard herb butter that you could hardly get on the bread. For a whopping €5. Well, on to the main course. Once a spaetzle pan and once a cordon bleu with fries. The fries were great and tasted good. The Cordonbleu, on the other hand, was inedible and Brett was hard. The spaetzle pan didn't taste good at all. Here we work with finished products. Offering this food at such a high price is a disgrace. Unfortunately, we only saw all the bad reviews afterwards. We definitely won't come back again.

Actually a nice place to eat. Unfortunately the food wasn't good for the price. I ate a duet schnitzel, half Balkan, half Jägerschnitzel. The meat tasted a bit strange, like deep fryer schnitzel, and the sauce for me was a ready-made sauce from a jar, and the portion was quite small. The service was friendly and quick.

Es war der letzte Sch.... !!!! So viel Geld für so ein Mist!!! Essen kann man dazu nicht sagen. Getränke sind auch schlecht und viel zu teuer!! Wir haben uns Geärgert und kommen nie mehr dahin !! Ich habe Heute für 52.50 Euro Magenschmerzen und brechen!

Kellner waren sehr bemüht, konnte jedoch leider nicht so gut deutsch. Das Besteck was bereits auf dem Tisch stand war leider schmutzig. Getränke kamen schnell und das Essen auch. Leider war das Essen so schlecht, das wir alle drei noch fast volle Teller zurück gegeben hatten. Das Steak war verbannt und widerlich vom Geschmack, die Sauce war genauso schrecklich. Das einzigste was einigermaßen genießbar war, waren die Pommes. Das Bier konnte man genauso wenig trinken. Nachdem ich eine Beschwerde ausgesprochen hatte, wurde sich perplext entschuldigt, mehr kam leider nicht. Der nette Mann, der die Menschen an der Straße anspricht um ins Restaurant zu kommen, sollte sich schämen.

We were there for the first and last time and the food was cold and didn't taste that good either. We'd rather go somewhere else.

I have never eaten such bad, overpriced food. Spit roast had an unpleasant aftertaste, the champion cream sauce was a ready-made sauce, the mushrooms were from a can, the schnitzel was made from molded meat, and some of the fries were fried for the second time. My criticism today was not taken into account in any way by the waitress. Never again! I feel a little nauseous...
