Very tasty 😋 and a great atmosphere

We visited for the first time since the "reopening." We had planned to go earlier, but it didn't work out. But we weren't disappointed; the food was plentiful and very, very good. The service was fast and the staff very friendly. This won't be our last visit.

Unfortunately, it is permanently closed.

We were there, and it wasn't good, just not good. So it's no surprise to me that the restaurant is closing.

Pretty outrageous. They called around 7:45 p.m. to see if we could still come for dinner. They said we'd be there at 8:20 p.m. Yes, no problem, the kitchen is open until 9:00 p.m. We got off the motorhome in our camper van and took a short detour. When we arrived at 8:15 p.m. sharp, we were told there was nothing left to eat; it was very busy today. Didn't they know that at 7:45 p.m.? We think it's outrageous.

What a wonderful beer garden, in the middle of the forest, which we discovered by chance while walking along the Iller River. Outside, there are numerous seats/benches, both under umbrellas and in the open air. It's super cozy. The menu offers a variety of delicious dishes, and the beer is also incredibly tasty. Inside, there's also the inn. You can spend several hours relaxing here, and there's also a playground outside for the kids. Great place. We'll be back here often, even if it's over 100 km away.

If you're hungry, you should go somewhere else. The portions are tiny, and the prices are steep. We had a whole five forks of spaetzle without sauce and a mini schnitzel. At the next table, there was sausage salad with not even half a slice of bread; the older people were talking and complaining among themselves.

Even in the best beer garden weather, there's no sausage salad left at 6 p.m. 👎 They've switched to self-service. The whole ambiance could be better maintained. It's a shame that this beautiful location is deteriorating like this.

The food is very good. It's self-service, which I think is great for a beer garden. Very well organized. Pure nature, in the middle of the forest.

We stumbled across the inn through Park4Night and were not disappointed! The innkeeper gave us a very warm welcome and showed us around right away. We then enjoyed a delicious meal, listened to live music, and were able to sleep peacefully in the middle of the forest – along with two other campers. We would definitely use this place as a stopover again!

A good place to stop for a drink. It's best not to eat, at least not the Swiss sausage salad, which is made with the cheapest sausage and cheese and is absolutely tasteless. The prices are too high for self-service. Even considering the terrible Iller "cycle path," I certainly won't make the trip there again.

WOW, we ate there. 7 different dishes, including Mautaschen (a kind of pork belly), schnitzel, cordon bleu, and roast pork... all incredibly delicious. The service was also great—keep up the fun!

A beer garden that invites you to linger. A very pleasant atmosphere, great food, and very attentive staff. A restaurant where service and courtesy are still a top priority. We will be back soon. Thank you for the lovely stay.

In summer, the only option is the beer garden. It's not possible to sit inside, even when it's colder. The portions are huge. The food is homely. The beer garden, located in the middle of the forest, is always lovely; there are sometimes live concerts.

Enjoyed a delicious German meal with a large glass of Zitronen lemonade

Beer garden was okay so far. Large children's playground. Charging station for e-bikes. Friendly staff. Card payment not possible, has apparently been known for a long time. Actually a higher price range for self-service. Food was ready relatively quickly. We once had Kässpätzle, Looked like a ladle had been thrown out of the pot onto the plate and a few steamed onions on top, carelessly arranged, tasteless, not finished. Cheese???, fried onion??? Cordonbleu, probably fresh from the deep fryer, like the five hash browns, as a side dish, plus jam?? and all of that on a snack board??? When you pierced it you could see how the fat ran away and the taste, in my opinion, was frozen. Price performance ratio??? Conclusion, it can definitely be better.

Great excursion restaurant to book for the bike tour but also indoors for family events. Nice children's playground. Good home cooking.

And of course, another beergarten that has a "payment with card failure". A place where you can only pay cash. 🙃

Rustic, grubby beer garden. The food was very good. After the meal we asked if we could leave the camper overnight, it wasn't a problem.

First day of the beer garden today. I have rarely seen anything so disorganized. Even if the cash register and card payment fails. Waiting in line for 1 hour for drinks and 2 hours for food. Also very unfriendly when you ask. It doesn't work at all. If I know my problems (cash outage, not enough staff), I make a smaller map and close off part of the terrace. So no one comes back. Sorry. But food was okay.

Waited 2 hours for food. If you're preparing for May 1st, you should have enough staff for it. Children's meals also took forever. We've always been really happy so far, but now we're really really disappointed! What a shame!

Hello I was there for a crime dinner and was totally thrilled. I can only recommend it. Plus point: it is served in Autenrieder. The beer garden is very nice and spacious. There is a play castle for children

The ambience was rustic and modern at the same time, it was really nice, you immediately felt at home. The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the temperature; we found it “fresh”. Everything from the salad to the schnitzel was homemade and really tasty. We'll be back ❣️

We've been to the beer garden several times, it's lovely to sit in, friendly staff and delicious food. We also often go to Silberwald for lunch, which is highly recommended. Very good price/performance ratio!

Great chicken with potato salad

Went to the Escape Dinner at the Silberwald Neu-Ulm for 99 euros per person. The puzzles were NICELY done, and they included a so-called 3-course menu excluding drinks!!! We weren't expecting the earth! But the food can't have cost the organizer 30 euros per head, and then puzzles for 70 euros???!!! The simplest tomato soup, not even with croutons or cream - tasted OK, the main course was 1.5 slices of roast beef with root vegetables and mashed potatoes, which was OK, and everyone talked themselves into believing it, but after the most loveless dessert ever... uncontrollably splattered chocolate mousse drowned in warmed, cheap sour cherries in the juice from the jar, served as the crowning glory in a SOUP BOWL. The whole table laughed heartily at the joke at first... but then the fun really was over. 210 euros including drinks for 2 people is really just sad, almost presumptuous. The price/performance ratio is really far below par! A little tip: buy an escape game for 15 euros, invite friends, and order the most expensive meal from your favorite restaurant, and you'll still save money. Conclusion: Brilliant business idea with almost 60 people there just that evening! Sad for all those who received something like this as a gift or wanted to treat themselves. That's just not right!

Superbly hidden in the forest, a lovely destination on hot days, with lovely shady paths and a place for dogs to cool off.

On January 3rd, 2025 we were in the Silberwald with 4 adults and 4 children and were completely thrilled. The service was friendly, particularly remarkable since the lady of the house confidently managed the entire restaurant on her own - great respect for that! The food was excellent. Be sure to try the cordon bleu with the special breadcrumbs made from pretzel breadcrumbs (the ones from the schnitzel) – simply perfect! This special order shows that the food is freshly prepared and customer requests are taken into account. (In the summer we have often had excellent spare ribs in the beer garden - the portions are large and subtleties such as the peeled silver skin are positive). The restaurant also scores points with free parking and really fair prices. We have been there several times and will definitely come back many more times!

The staff was very friendly and the food tasted good too. Unfortunately, we found it very sad that you had to pay an extra 2 euros just because you wanted potato salad instead of hash browns. This caused some dissatisfaction among those affected. The food came quite quickly and was also reasonably priced. It's a quaint atmosphere and very pleasant. The beer garden in summer must also be very nice.

Great restaurant with a changing lunch menu. The dishes are fresh, very tasty and seasonal (e.g. chanterelles). We come here for lunch several times a month.

Very good food. Also something different. E.g. schnitzel with pretzel breading etc. Tip top service. When it's full, it's relatively loud in the dining room.

Simply delicious dishes, well crafted. Everyone should find something on the menu here, and variety is also provided. The lunch menu is great, it's definitely worth taking the small detour. It's clear that effort and passion are put into the work, both in the kitchen and in the service. We always felt comfortable. Need for improvement? The outdoor area could definitely benefit from a little more care, the location in the forest certainly requires more effort. The price-performance ratio is really good here, so the bottom line is that there is nothing to complain about.

We are waiting in transit and stopped because of the good review. The food was fantastic. There was a small menu + 2 daily specials. We didn't wait 15 minutes for our food, even though there was a large party celebrating there. The service was super friendly and quick. She had an open eye for our wishes, beer was always refilled. Certainly nice outdoor area in summer, rustic old German atmosphere inside. The decoration is homemade and very beautiful! This night we will sleep in the parking lot by arrangement. Happy to come back!

We had on September 23rd. a family celebration, 90s, and I have to say it was perfect. The chef knows his craft and it tasted excellent. A friendly and competent boss. The service staff is very friendly and tries to please everyone. I can definitely recommend the Silberwald. We will eat there again. Thanks

We were in Silberwald today and 2 weeks ago and were very satisfied. Tarte flambée, crispy, thin and very tasty. The roast pork belly with Potato and cucumber salad and the Viennese style schnitzel with fries were also very good. Beef goulash with bread dumplings also delicious, Onion roast medium fried, as ordered and of good quality. The waiting times were normal and we like the value for money and the cleanliness very good. We were very satisfied and will come back. In general, I find negative reviews on the internet Very unfortunate and not good either. If something is wrong, you say so in the restaurant and that should take care of the matter. Why do you always have to hold grudges? What's in it for you? Satisfaction? Very unfortunate, Does a man or woman really need this? Gastronomy is already difficult as it is Enough and if there is a bigger crowd like in the Silver Forest, you have to when the weather is nice, Also expect longer waiting times. We know what we're talking about, I've been standing since 35 years at the stove ourselves and we have been self-employed for 20 years. Collegial greetings and see you next time.

A mega restaurant in the middle of the forest not far from the Iller, mega food, huge portions for reasonable prices, really worth it and a great playground for the kids, great park options by car or bike

If you come on a Sunday at 1 p.m., 50% of the tables are free and the chairs are folded up, and upon request you are told that you won't get a seat (table) because there are only two of you, you can't get more than one star. .. This has now happened to us in this restaurant (beer garden) for the third time...We certainly can't recommend it!

I'll never go there again. A beer garden where the only salad is the small side salad!? Vegetarian dishes? Kässpätzle or nothing. Apple juice ran out, as did snack plates. It was surprisingly full on a hot summer day. Service doesn't come for ages, then there's only drinks, there's a traffic jam in the kitchen, let's see if there's something later (with reservation!) OK, luckily there was still something. For me it was sour cheese with loamy bread from the day before. No more need.

While all the tables in one half of the beer garden in the shade were occupied, the other half of the beer garden (which was in the shade) was completely closed when we visited. The waitress explained to us that we could either sit in the blazing sun in one half of the beer garden when it was almost 30 degrees or we had to leave. There is no place in the shade for us and she wouldn't agree if we moved a table into the shade. Apparently you don't have to rely on guests here, as you'd rather leave tables free than accommodate the guest.

We made a wonderful stopover here on the way home with the motorhome: beautiful beer garden in the forest with very good German cuisine. Price-performance is still 100 percent right here. Service was very, very nice, we were even allowed to spend the night here in the forest parking lot with our motorhome upon request. Thank you very much again for that! An absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy a good schnitzel and a delicious beer in a relaxed atmosphere.

The food was perfect, exactly what we wanted, very good value for money. The portions were decent for the price and I will definitely come here more often in the future. I can warmly recommend the restaurant - it's worth the trip.

The Silberwald used to be better, but it has deteriorated significantly, 4 hours is already hardcore if you wait for a starter, main course and dessert. So we have to say clearly as a group, never again.

Wanted to stop there spontaneously to get something to eat. When we asked whether there was still a table available, the first service person rudely referred us to a colleague because he “had no overview,” btw in the half-empty beer garden. You were skillfully ignored by the others and when you asked again you only got a mushy “no”… nothing more, nothing less. So we will leave the seats to others in the future and hope that they will be served more friendly... And hopefully the current tenant won't cut his own tree at some point with this unfriendliness from the staff, because the location is really great and they've made an effort with the playground for children etc.

I can definitely understand when you have a lot to do. It can get crowded, especially when the weather is nice or on public holidays. But going to such lengths to ignore a table and only serve the other half and then replying rudely when asked that we wouldn't be served without a reservation was really cheeky. This could have been pointed out to us half an hour earlier, when we sat down. And above all a little friendlier, we haven't done anything to anyone ;) Be that as it may, the place is very, very nice and the food on the other tables also looked very tasty. Unfortunately I can't say whether the price is worth it because we left without being served ^^

So first of all a huge compliment to the chef... The food was really great for all of us, there were 12 of us and it came at the same time. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the food. It tasted good, looked great, the portions were really good, not totally overloaded but also enough for our men. The price for the food is absolutely fair and almost cheap for these portions...really great 👍 About the service...the young waitress was very friendly, I don't think she had been there that long but she was completely ok...the landlord was friendly but somehow seemed very stressed even though there was hardly anything going on but yes, she was completely in Order. The ambience...Hmmm, I think it's a beautiful spot that you can certainly do a lot with...but unfortunately it seemed a bit "runky" in the outside area, although it is beautifully located and has a great playground for children and is not in the middle of the countryside far from the Iller. But if you took some time there... yes, on one side it looked a bit like a construction site... maybe something is being changed, I don't know... but as I said, you could really do a lot with it . Inside it's a bit musty and just rustic fits but absolutely... But it smelled unpleasant, maybe airing it out a little more often would be good 🙈 We were there when the beer garden weather wasn't quite optimal, we will definitely visit there again when the weather is better, firstly to enjoy the delicious food and to see whether the beer garden might be a little nicer... We'll be back 👍

As an allergy sufferer, I couldn't eat anything because there was no allergen list and there wasn't even a reasonable statement. So we left again, four people. Allergens must be identified!!

We, the sports bowling department of FVGerlenhofen, had a wonderful hike with 59 people to the “Silberwald” on May 1st. Everything was discussed in advance and adhered to and carried out precisely by the entire team. It was definitely a huge challenge, especially since the beer garden was packed. Many many thanks! Fine food at fair prices in a relaxed atmosphere.

The service is really on point. Even though there were several of us and the beer garden was full, the food and drinks were distributed quickly. The portions are sufficient and very tasty. That's why it's 5 stars.

First you were ignored by the waitress for half an hour, then when you asked you were rudely shooed away because you were supposedly sitting at a reserved table. The waitress beforehand had said nothing about the alleged reservation. Too bad, won't be coming back!

Yesterday we were a large motorcycle group... 55 people in the beer garden... everything was perfect... service and price/performance ratio was tip top. And the location in the forest... really unique. It's a shame we live so far away...

The weather was good too and everything was fine. Unfortunately I don't have any sausage salad on the menu...

Very idyllic in the forest with a beautiful beer garden. At first we had to wait a bit until we were served. But after that it went pretty quickly. The food was excellent. In any case, you can recommend this restaurant with a clear conscience.

Yesterday we stopped there to have something to eat and drink. Nice place. With the good weather there was a lot going on and the service seemed quite overwhelmed. I can understand that too. Except about €8 for a "large" portion of fries. The amount was more like a medium portion. But still offering them for €8 is completely exaggerated in my opinion. Maybe the fish flavor on the fries was so expensive. Well, we will leave the places there free for other visitors in the future.
