Always worth a visit. The best Angus steak for miles around. No matter what you eat, it's simply delicious.

Beautiful location right on Bad Kötzting's market square. A terrace right outside the door overlooks the market square. Elegant, wooden furnishings. A beautiful staircase leads to the open-plan first floor. A cozy atmosphere! Friendly service. We were there for lunch, and they offered a small, pleasant menu. The daily special, breaded veal liver, baked in clarified butter, served with parsley potatoes, cranberries, and a side salad, was excellent. Also excellent was the Wiener Schnitzel with fries. The ketchup was homemade! Dessert: espresso with a small crème brûlée and sorbet was very good! We'd love to come back. Today we had the best currywurst I've ever eaten. It looked and tasted amazing. The homemade sauce, sweet potato fries, and curry aioli were gourmet-level! We would love to be there more often for lunch. Unfortunately, everything was already booked, and we couldn't get a seat 🫤 😔

One of the best restaurants in the Cham district. Definitely the best in Kötzting. Super tasty and always good. Pricey, but quality comes at a price. The takeaway meals and other items also make great gifts.

A lovely restaurant in the heart of Kötzting. Delicious beef steaks and trout from our own farm. Reasonable prices. The restaurant's interior is beautiful. The service is very friendly. Everything is just as you would expect. P.S.: The soups are a dream starter!

I had a pepper steak, which was again excellent, and my wife's pork tenderloin was also excellent. The service was super friendly and accommodating. We'll be back again and again.

We were on a short visit to Bad Kötzting and the Google review enticed us. The restaurant is in a prime location, the service was friendly, and we sat outside in a lovely, quaint setting. Inside, the Osl is very stylish, and the concept is compelling. The menu reads well, and the dishes at neighboring tables looked delicious. The beef broth to start with was tasty, our child's dish was okay, and the tagliatelle with chanterelle mushrooms was very tasty. The ribeye steak was also very well seasoned and didn't need the aioli as a side dish. Unfortunately, they didn't ask for the doneness beforehand, and the steak arrived well-done and without a steak knife. Both of these things were a real shame for what is otherwise a top-notch restaurant, but we would definitely come back.

Really cozy, traditional Bavarian, but modern

Hier kann man super gut essen, das Ambiente ist auch richtig gemütlich. Die Bedienung auf Zack und jederzeit freundlich und mit einem Lächeln. Empfehlen können wir die Thai Curry Suppe, Rindfleisch (auf den Punkt genau gebraten) und Risotto. Einfach alles mega lecker. Und der Nachtisch auch phänomenal. Hier kommen wir gerne wieder!

The service was very nice. Unfortunately the food wasn't great. The fries aren't quite done yet. The salad dressing wasn't that tasty either and the risotto was a bit bland or boring unfortunately. Were a little disappointed with the food.

5 absolutely justified stars. Food and service, as always, absolutely great. Once or twice a year we treat ourselves to a visit to Osl and enjoy three courses. Starting with the ultra delicious Thai curry soup. So the main course is of course the perfectly medium fried Angus beef with crunchy grilled vegetables and aioli. For dessert, the delicious two kinds of chocolate. As always, it was absolutely perfect and, as always, there was absolutely nothing to complain about.

Very tasty food, the salad is amazing. Large portions, fast service, value for money 👍, reservation would be advisable. Dogs are allowed, but should be mentioned when making the reservation.

First class service and food!! Luckily we got a table even without a reservation. Unfortunately we had little time and couldn't eat dessert. We will definitely go there again so we can eat three courses in peace and quiet.

Had a very nice evening on Saturday February 15th, 2025. Had a table for two with beautiful decorations. Very friendly service and very attentive. Drinks and food were picked up and brought very quickly. My grill plate was perfect. My partner's sauerbraten was also very good. Everything was just perfect!

Went to the beautiful inn for the first time today to try out a meal. I'm thrilled all around, a cozy atmosphere, very nice and attentive service! And the food 😋 terrific. A fine selection of soups, especially the main courses. Whether you're a meat fan or a vegetarian - there's something delicious for every taste. The beer offered is from Augustiner. I will now make frequent trips to the “Osl” inn...

For every stay in the Bavarian Forest we reserve a table in Osl in advance. Food, service, ambience and friendliness are perfect. There is a small menu at lunchtime and a larger menu in the evening. Everyone will find something here. However, you should reserve a table.

The quality of the food stands out clearly from the average of the local restaurants. As a starter I had an excellent Thai curry soup because I believe that you can recognize good cuisine by the soups and sauces. This Thai curry soup tasted something special and thrilled me. On the recommendation of the extremely friendly young waitress, I ordered the char fillet. The char fillet was crispy on the skin and had translucent flesh. Perfect. There was also a delicious yoghurt-mint-lemon dip, which subtly refined the taste of the char, and as side dishes rosemary potatoes and a mixed garden salad made from fresh herbs and vegetables with a delicious dressing. Everything was very delicately prepared and perfectly coordinated. The Osl is definitely worth a visit.

Hervorragende Küche....immer wieder ein Genuß ! Das Lokal ist im Interior außerhalb jeglichen Kitsches (was für diese Region sehr unüblich aber top) puristisch, klar und doch angenehm, bodenständig, bayerisch, "gmiatlich".Auch nichts Überladendes, was sehr angenehm wirkt für mich, als Gast. Es ist rumdum alles zu empfehlen. Auch das Eis wird selbstgemacht und ist ein Gaumenschmaus.

I can't understand the good reviews. We wanted to eat here for my birthday. I wanted to make a reservation by email the day before, but I didn't receive a reply to this email. I couldn't reach anyone by phone either. Then we drove there based on luck. The room was relatively busy but there was still a small free table downstairs. We didn't see what it looked like at the top. When we asked for a free table for two people, we were abruptly assigned the free one. Unfortunately, it was quite loud there, so having a conversation with my hearing aids would have been difficult. So we asked for another table shortly afterwards. There was now a table available for 4 people. But we can't sit there, said the waitress. How does she know what we can do? I'm sure we could have done it. But at least we were given a small corner table, which we would have been quite happy with. If only we had been served at some point. Both the small table where we first sat and the table for four were now occupied again. When the people at the two tables already had drinks in front of them and we hadn't even seen a waitress, we gave up and left. It may be that the kitchen conjures up excellent dishes. But a guest doesn't benefit if he never sees them. We were already looking forward to the steak, which is supposedly prepared so tenderly here. We then went to the butcher shop opposite and got a liver loaf roll. Not what I wanted for my birthday meal, but at least we received very friendly service there. I would like to give the Osl no star at all, but unfortunately that is not possible. Our experience was subpar, which is particularly annoying when it's your birthday. I don't understand what's supposed to be friendly about the service either. By friendly I mean something completely different.

We came here spontaneously and wanted to stop for dinner, unfortunately it was very busy, but we still wanted to ask if there was a free table.. Unfortunately we were first ignored and then turned away somewhat arrogantly because everything was full and there were other people waiting... We completely understand it when the local is busy, but the way we were told this, probably due to stress, doesn't work at all... We then stopped in one local further away… The local is visually really beautiful I can't rate the food The service…not ok

We are spending our vacation here and were in Osl for the first time. I would particularly like to emphasize the very friendly service. We had pancake soup, a burger and a pepper steak. All dishes were above average and we will definitely eat there again. A clear recommendation from us to stop at the Osl inn.

Vom Anfang bis zum Schluss wirklich toll! Personal sehr herzlich, Atmosphäre sehr angenehm- Man fühlt sich willkommen! War ein spontaner Entschluss Sonntagmittag – hat Gott sei Dank funktioniert. Essen wirklich sehr sehr, sehr lecker, gut bürgerliche Küche, aber mit dem Gewissen etwas! Wirklich weiter zu empfehlen und würden auch sofort wiederkommen.

Sehr, sehr gut! War heute bei Bullenhitze (>30° C) dort. Eiskaltes Bier, eine sehr nette und selbst bei diesem Wetter gut gelaunte Bedienung. Ein sensationell gemachter Topfenknödel mit Bergkäse, dazu Spinat, Walnüsse, Pfifferlinge, auf einem leichten Pfifferlingsschaum und noch ein Beilagensalat für sehr vernünftige 14,80 €. Starkes Rezept, handwerklich 1A gemacht. Das Lokal ist innen drin wahnsinnig geschmackvoll und gediegen. Also absolut 5 von 5. Vielen Dank!

We were here on the Pentecost weekend and with a bit of luck we got a place. Despite the full house, the service was very good and had everything under control!!! The beer and food were first class!!! Keep it up! We'd love to come back.

Warm service, great tasting dishes - we had boiled ox meat with horseradish sauce and potatoes as well as pappardelle with spinach, pesto and pecorino - simply delicious! We recommend!!!

The food is very good. Lovingly prepared and furnished. Used products in 1A quality. We all (4 different orders) enjoyed it very much. Service was quite good, ambience is clean and nice. The only point of criticism - the reservation is not yet working optimally. It's difficult on the telephone because no one takes calls outside of operating hours, and employees don't have time during operating hours. Email also works suboptimally. Our attempt to make a reservation by email worked - we were apparently on the list, but unfortunately no one sent us a confirmation. Should be significantly improved.

On Easter Monday 2024 we had a very good lunch, the dishes were delicious, the service was great and the atmosphere was pleasant and cozy. The “Osl” is fully recommended! We are multiples Repeat offenders and always felt very well looked after.

Das Restaurant liegt mitten in Bad Kötztingen. Es ist sehr geschmackvoll mit sehr (sehr) viel Holz (und dunklem Metall) eingerichtet und man sollte unbedingt reservieren. Die Portionen sind ausreichend und es schmeckt sehr lecker. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich.

Burger was very good but a bit too little or too small. Carpatcho is recommended as a starter. Was tasteful. Overall a very good restaurant. Reservation is only recommended

This choice was a hit! Very pleasant, upscale atmosphere: tradition meets modernity - but not "out there" - you still feel at home! The restaurant was well attended by families with children, couples and regular guests. The service was extremely courteous and professional! The food came quickly and it really has to be emphasized: everything was exceptionally delicate and tasty, beautifully presented and of the best fresh quality - compliments! Some chefs elsewhere could train again at “Osl”! The prices are fair! We are from Munich and will definitely come back! It's just a shame that our two small dogs were rejected when we made the reservation on the grounds that there were already dogs there - we didn't see any.

We really liked the great, rustic atmosphere and were very pleased with the friendly service. We found the price-performance ratio to be very good. We can fully recommend the burger and surf & turf salad we chose! Our request to change the supplement was easily fulfilled.

You never get a seat spontaneously, I think the reservation process is terrible... whoever comes gets a seat, if you have a good kitchen you don't need it! The place would get so full...

Eines der besten Lokale im Landkreis..... Super leckeres, frisch zubereitetes Essen. Im guten Preisleistungsverhältnis, mit Zutaten aus eigener Schlachtung. Der Service ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Komme schon lange hier her, und werde das auch bestimmt weiter so handhaben. Kommt doch einfach mal vorbei und überzeugt euch selbst.

Rindfleischkultur.... das Lokal ist definitiv einen Besuch wert. Total schön ,traditionell und modern eingerichtet. Man fühlt sich gleich wohl.und das Essen.... hier weiß man mit Fleisch umzugehen. Wer in der Nähe ist sollte unbedingt reservieren, aber vorbeikommen. Personal war sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit (wir hatten keine Reservierung, bekamen trotzdem einen schnellen Tisch)
