As always, we ate very well and were served in a friendly and attentive manner. There is no reason to complain!

We were very excited. When we asked, we were immediately suggested 5 vegan dishes! The waitress was really knowledgeable about the fact that noodles can contain eggs, for example. It's a shame that vegan dishes aren't on the menu. Dogs are allowed and welcome here. The bus stops right in front of the door and the restaurant also has a parking lot. You can sit comfortably inside and outside. The service was great and the food was great too! We'd love to come back 😍.

I found the beef goulash from the lunch menu very good in terms of taste and portion size, but the noodle side dish was definitely not enough. The service was not attentive.

We sat and ate in the rustic castle courtyard with a beer garden character in the best weather. The waitress was super nice and greeted us by saying if our dog was thirsty, there was a dog bar inside. Drinks and food came quickly, were very tasty, individually garnished and freshly prepared. Price/performance ratio is right.

All around successful visit. From entering the restaurant to leaving, the “all-round carefree package”. Super nice and friendly service, whose friendly manner makes the guest feel welcome. The food from the starter to the main course was great! The portion sizes are more than large enough, you'll be full here! However, the "mocktail" Pina Cocos was not what one would generally describe as such. Not that it was bad, no, but there was an ingredient in it that actually has no place in a Pina Cocos, what was it??? - Hard to say, probably lemon or lime, but it tasted pretty "sour". However, I wouldn't order this "mocktail" again, it's not my cup of tea, there may be people who like it that way. However, this didn't detract from the beautiful evening, the ambience in the so-called "winter garden" is great. All in all 100% recommended 👍. Gladly again

Have been here regularly and happily for several years. Delicious and high quality dishes. Super friendly staff. Reservation recommended. The menu has recently been changed to include “fancier” dishes. Unfortunately, prices were also raised at the same time.

We only moved to Taunusstein a year ago and are still looking for a good restaurant and the Wirtshaus im Schloß is a bright spot in the less than pleasant Restaurant Portfolio in Taunusstein. Finally a chef who knows something about cooking and doesn't scare away his guests with run-of-the-mill food. I would easily recommend the inn in the castle, good food in a nice atmosphere and very friendly service, what more could you want.

We were there for the first time today. We received a very warm welcome, the lunch menu was excellent and completely sufficient. The price-performance ratio is great. The dessert looked so good that I ate it straight away and forgot the photo. I can only recommend the restaurant. ☺️

We had reserved in advance and explicitly pointed out that one person in our group was vegan for health reasons (cow's milk allergy). Nevertheless, we were only offered a salad, which is no longer appropriate in 2024. To top it all off, the salad also came with parmesan cheese. I complained about this and when the "boss" (or so it seemed) came back with a supposedly vegan dish, I asked again whether there really was no butter in it, otherwise I could suffer an allergic shock. Her answer was that of course only oil was used. She said this in an incredibly unfriendly and, in my opinion, arrogant tone. After I started eating the salad, I noticed from the first bite that it contained cheese again (video recording available) When I complained about this again, I was told in a very unfriendly manner that she was under a lot of stress because the loud babies at our table were stressing her out. She continued to be very rude to everyone at the table. Absolutely no recommendation! The only bright spots were the two male waitresses, who were always friendly and tried very hard. Thanks for that. Unfortunately, due to the allergy, I had to inject medication with an emergency pen, which fortunately I always have with me in an emergency bag. Finally, I can only say that I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone. A pity!

Wir waren heute mit einer großen Gruppe im Wirtshaus im Schloss essen, nachdem wir vorher reserviert hatten und dabei angekündigt haben, dass wir Kinder mitbringen würden. Leider war unser Besuch sehr enttäuschend. Die Chefin war sehr unfreundlich und machte deutlich, dass sie von den Kindern, die laut ihrer Aussage andauernd schreien und herumlaufen würden, genervt war. Wir verstehen, dass Kinder manchmal lauter sind, aber wir hatten erwartet, dass ein Restaurant, das Reservierungen für große Gruppen annimmt, darauf vorbereitet ist. Das Essen war leider auch nicht zufriedenstellend. Außerdem schmeckte das gesamte Essen nach nichts, es fehlten überall Gewürze. Ein weiteres Problem war, dass das Restaurant nicht mit Kritik umgehen konnte. Auf unsere höflichen Anmerkungen zur Qualität des Essens wurde sehr gereizt reagiert. Zudem war es im Restaurant sehr warm und es gab keine Klimaanlage. In Anbetracht der großen Gruppe war die Hitze extrem unangenehm und machte den Aufenthalt noch weniger erträglich. Wir hatten uns auf einen angenehmen Abend gefreut, wurden jedoch sehr enttäuscht. Ein Nächstes mal wird es nicht geben!

Today we had dinner with a large group in the inn in the castle after making a reservation in advance and announcing that we would be bringing children with us. Unfortunately our visit was very disappointing. The boss was very unfriendly and made it clear that she was annoyed by the children, who, according to her, were constantly screaming and running around. We understand that children are sometimes louder, but we expected a restaurant that accepts reservations for large groups to be prepared for this. Unfortunately, the food wasn't satisfactory either. In addition, the entire food tasted like nothing, there were no spices everywhere. Another problem was that the restaurant couldn't handle criticism. Our polite comments about the quality of the food were responded to very irritably. It was also very warm in the restaurant and there was no air conditioning. Considering the large group, the heat was extremely uncomfortable and made the stay even less bearable. We were looking forward to a pleasant evening, but were very disappointed. There won't be a next time!

There were 20 of us plus children and we left around €800. The boss is an arrogant, rude young lady who cannot handle criticism. The steak that was ordered medium was still very bloody and they politely asked me to correct it. This was followed by a rude reaction from the operator. When confronted, she complains about the children just have an urge to move and walk around. It has to be said that despite the slimmed down menu, the number of people was too much to handle because the food was anything but warm! Thanks, we're done with the restaurant!

We were there for dinner as a family and we were all very satisfied. The table was perfect and the friendly service was very attentive. Everyone found the portions to be sufficient and the price more than justified. When we're in the area again, we'll stop right there. Thank you!

Das Restaurant ist sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet aber das war es leider auch schon....Das Mittagessen hier ist hier nicht gut gewesen...Die Mittagskarte besteht nur aus 4 Gerichten....ich hatte das Hähnchen Curry mit asiatischen Gemüse....Der Geschmack war mehr als flach und hat mit Curry nix zu tun...Die Hähnchenstücke waren ok aber neutral im Geschmack...Das Gemüse waren 5 dünne Streifen Paprika und ein paar verlorene Champiostreifen mit ein paar Mungobohnenkeimlingen ...was ich persönlich gar nicht mag als Liebhaber der asiatischen Küche ist, wenn man Langkornreis dazu serviert...ich finde das passt gar nicht...und dieser war noch sehr weich und unter der Sosse mit Gemüse und Fleisch bedeckt und ertränkt und richtig matschig...Der Nachtisch war ein Vanillepudding mit Melonensalat....tut mir leid aber das war kein selbstgekochter Pudding mit Milch wie ein Pudding schmecken soll...der Melonensalat schmeckte nach nix und das alles in einem Schüsselchen war sehr matschig wässrig und geschmacklich ein Flop. ..das Schweinefilet der anderen war trocken und wenig ...das war leider nix....wie gesagt schade es wäre ein Ort zum Wohlfühlen wenn das Essen gut wäre

A wonderful and delicious Sunday lunch on the occasion of a birthday invitation in Wehener Castle. Zander was fantastic, as was asparagus, the Cordon Blue's were just missing a bit of spice, otherwise everything was great. The friendly service was attentive, quick and competent. We would love to come back...

The short drive from Idstein to Taunusstein-Wehen is definitely worth it to stop off at the inn in the castle. It doesn't matter whether you are sitting in the cozy/quaint restaurant, in the wonderfully glazed winter garden or on the cozy summer terrace/beer garden based on the Bavarian model. In any case, you can expect German-dominated, sophisticated cuisine. I freely admit it: I love meatloaf, in every version. And the one I was able to enjoy here was by far the best I've ever enjoyed. Simply “heavenly”. For beer drinkers, the wide range of Bavarian beers is another positive. Added to this is the warm-hearted, almost loving service. All in all, a very above-average culinary experience, especially for this region

5/9/24 We haven't been here for a long time. Today actually only because our “village fire brigade festival” was overcrowded. But I have to say, despite the small lunch menu, it was ok. 1x boiled beef with potatoes. The meat is very tender. 2.Food Tagliatelle with salmon in cream. As an offer, a dessert and a soft drink for €18.90 each. Fair price and good taste. That's probably what the new chef does. We'll continue to test.

A very clear recommendation for the inn in the castle 🏰 we have enjoyed coming here for years. There is extremely tasty, home-style cuisine, but also modern creations at reasonable prices with very, very friendly service. The rump steak with herb butter and onions is fantastic and accompanied by delicious beer 🍻 from the Steinkrug. Many thanks to Micha and his whole team ☺️😇

We were there with 10 people. We were the first to take our place in the lower part of the restaurant. After about 45 minutes the starters arrived, an hour later the main courses. It was difficult to accept that in the meantime all the other tables received the main course. We ordered ox cheeks 5 times in the main course. 3 portions were ok. 2 portions inedible. The cheeks were so hard that when you hit them on the plate you could hear loud knocking noises. One ox cheek was replaced with Jägerschnitzel after a complaint. The other half of the ox cheek was somewhat edible, but not good. The rest remained on the plate. Complaint when clearing away. Answer service: We sell a lot of ox cheeks.🥴 A repeat visit from us in the future can be ruled out.

Very tasty food 😋 the best roast pork in a very long time. Top meat quality with a totally crispy crust, homemade beer sauce with a perfect consistency, bread dumplings and savoy cabbage vegetables, very seasoned, and a dark Schloss Krug bräu... perfect! Great food great service. The restaurant has recently been under new management. We have known Michael Mätzel for a long time from his previous position and here too he puts all of his skills to excellent use in the kitchen. The map is a mix between the old map and some new stuff. It worked brilliantly for us. There are also delicious types of beer to choose from. As always, the ambience is nice there, the service is very, very friendly and even when the restaurant is full, the food comes out of the kitchen quickly. What more do you want. A very clear recommendation! And a win for our region around Taunusstein/Niedernhausen.

Let's start with something positive. The shop is really cozy, great atmosphere and beautifully decorated. Only the chairs quickly caused back pain. Let's get to the not pleasant part. The service was a total mess. We were given completely wrong food several times. Many were missing or incorrect. Some of the food was raw and the meat was cold. Sauces were missing even though it was on the menu and none were added. Dessert was very good.

We come about 20 times a year and the quality is always very tasty and very good. Great menu, very good service and very cozy.

Very nice restaurant with a wonderful winter garden. The staff was super friendly and helpful👍, they know what they are doing. The dishes, Jägerschnitzel (fresh mushrooms) with fried potatoes and salad, meatloaf with pepper sauce, fries and salad as well as the baked potato with sour cream and salad were very good and can be safely recommended. 👍

The schnitzel was OK. The fries were also “ok”. I don't think ice cubes in drinks are suitable when the outside temperature is -5. Unfortunately the wooden chairs were uncomfortable. The staff tried hard.

Was war das für eine feine spontane Entdeckung. Im ursprünglichen gemütlichen Teil des Restaurants gesessen. Von ganz charmanten Servicekräften bedient worden, die ganz wunderbare Schnitzelgerichte aus der Küche brachten. Alles tippitoppi. Komme voll gerne wieder.

Essen lecker, Wein lecker. Service Personal ausgewählt und immer freundlich und schnell. Innenambiente: es gibt einen modernen hellen Bereich (Glasanbau) sowie einen rustikaleren wirtshausigen nähe der Theke, beides gut. Terrasse: im Sommer sehr nett draußen zu sitzen im „Schlosshof“. Location: direkt im kleinen aber feinen Zentrum Wehens, nach vorne im Glasanbau Blick auf die belebte Hauptstraße, da ist immer was los. Der Haupteingang liegt direkt hinter dem Haus am gemütlichen ruhigen„Schlossplatz“, wo im Sommer die Aussentische stehen, große Wiese, schöne Bäume und Blick auf das (eher kleine) Schlossgebäude. Mit dem Fahrrad im Sommer kann man auch mal einkehren.

Noch nie bessere deutsche Küche gegessen! Überbackenes Spinathack, Rumpsteak und Hirschgulasch waren überragend! In den Gulasch hätte man sich rein legen können und trotz Großveranstaltung parallel war der Service sehr gut!

Nach meinen schlechten Erfahrungen bei Ricci in Taunusstein, war ich mal wieder im Wirtshaus im Schloss in Taunusstein. Und ich habe es nicht bereut. Die Reservierung hat unseren Wunsch entsprechend geklappt, der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Wir waren um 21.40Uhr die letzten Gäste und wir hatte nie das Gefühl, das man uns am liebsten rausschmeißen müsste. Im Gegenteil. Wie wurden weiterhin bestens bedient und behandelt. Das Essen war hervorragend und es gab absolut nichts zu beanstanden. Wir saßen im Wintergarten in einem geschmackvollen Ambiente. Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder. Es ist noch zu erwähnen, dass das Restaurant Verstärkung in der Küche sucht. (Koch)

Das Restaurant ist allgemein sehr schön, auch die Inneneinrichtung ist sehr schön gewählt und man hat ausreichend platz bzw. Man fühlt sich wohl. Die Qualität der Speisen ist gut, jedoch Standard und nichts außergewöhnliches, was sich jeder zuhause kochen könnte und auch vom Preis eher überteuert, für die Größe der Portionen. Der Service ist mega gut und es gibt draussen auch genügend Parkmöglichkeiten.

21.7.2023: Mitten in Taunusstein-Wehen gelegen. Durch das historische Ambiente fühlte ich mich einfach schnell wohl. Es gibt einige Augenblickeckchen zu entdecken😉 Wichtig ist aber doch Service und Essen gleichermaßen. Der Service war hervorragend und mein Filetsteak ausgezeichnet.😋 Ich komme gerne wieder❗️🙋🏻🌞

Besser geht es nicht...sehr freundlich trotz Stress. Wir hatten das Steak mit Zwiebeln ,Kräuterbutter und Pommes. Es war ein Traum. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Im Freien gibt es nur eine reduzierte Karte, deshalb ein Punkt Abzug. Ansonsten sehr gute Qualität, guter Service. Die Stühle im Freien sind in die Jahre gekommen und sollten mal getauscht werden.

Wir waren nach Längerem mal wieder im schönen, ruhigen Verandabereich des Restaurants. Beilagensalate, Rumpsteak mit Ofenkartoffel und Matjesfilets waren perfekt zubereitet und sehr schmackhaft, die Bedienung aufmerksam und freundlich.

Hier serveert men de lekkerste steaks, wienerschnitzels en hamburgers. De bediening is super vriendelijk en het lokaal is heel gezellig. We waren hier al twee maal en komen heel graag terug!

Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und während des gesamten Aufenthaltes aufmerksam umsorgt. Das Essen, Rumpsteak mit Pfeffersauce, war zum Reinknien und es gab auch an den anderen Gerichten am Tisch absolut nichts zu bemängeln. Ich freue mich schon jetzt auf den nächsten Besuch im Wirtshaus im Schloss.

An einem Dienstag gegen 18h wurden wir vom Oberkellner(?) nach skeptischen Blick auf unsere Trekkingbekleidung mit dem knappen Hinweis "alles reserviert" hinausgebeten. Die Bedienung im Hintergrund schaute zu dieser Antwort fragend drein. Im Restaurant war ein Tisch besetzt. Wir hätten nach einer Stunde das Lokal wieder verlassen.

Freundliche Bedienung und ruhiges Atmosphäre mit modernen Anbau. Als Vorspeise hatte ich ein Salat und Hauptgericht ein Jägerschnitzel. Salat war sehr gut. Schnitzel war vom Geschmack her eher durchschnittlich aber in eine große Portion. Als Getränke hatte ich das hausgemachte Limonade, war sehr erfrischend mit eine sehr aromatischen Nachgeschmack.

Garnelen noch grau, schwabbelig und geschmacklich wirklich ekelig. Tomatensoße Fertigprodukt. Nicht zu empfehlen! Insgesamt besteht die Küche nur aus Fertigprodukten und dafür muss man nicht essen gehen... schade! Früher war es besser !

Ich war innerhalb kurzer Zeit zwei mal hier hin eingeladen. Die hier gebotenen Schnitzel reissen einen nicht vom Hocker. Auch das Rumpsteak ist es nicht wert. Das Beste war noch das selbstgebackene Brot.

Ich hatte mir ein Rumpsteak mit Schafskäse u. großen Salatteller bestellt. Der Salatteller kam als erstes, die Salatblätter waren schon recht lappig u. es lag auch noch etwas Krautsalat dabei, ansonsten keinerlei Zutaten wie z.B. Mais oder Tomate. Das Steak war recht klein und auch nicht durchgegart, obwohl ich dies ausdrücklich wünscht. Das bißchen Schafskäse sah nicht appetittlich aus.

zu empfehlen ist die Haxe riesige Portion Knödel halb und halb muss nicht sein. Salatteller als Hauptgericht war sehr gut. Bedienung sehr freundlich .Lokal für Familienfeiern gut geeignet

Desesperante, 30 min para que nos cogieran la comanda y 55 min para que nos trajeran la comida, claro para entonces ya habiamos repetido 2 veces la bebida (1h 25 min de espera) y lo peor de todo, es que en el comedor de la 1ra planta, al lafo de las mesas, tenian una mesa con dos recipientes donde recogían los platos y echaban los restos de comida deslante de las mesas de los clientes, algo bastante desagradable. A mi entender, no recomendable.

Alles frisch zubereitet!!Leckere Deserts und eine große Auswahl an Cocktails und sonstige all. Getränke. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam!
