A beautiful location in Haithabu! A visit here was the perfect end to my Viking vacation in Schleswig and Denmark, and for my birthday too! ❤️ The food at the buffet was simply fantastic; there was nothing to complain about. My personal highlight, however, were these warm, fresh rolls. The homemade mead absolutely impressed me! The best mead I've ever had. I immediately bought a bottle to take home. At the end, there was even a little "tour" of the cellar where the "Odin's Meal" is regularly held. Beautiful and designed with so much love. Many thanks to the wonderful team at the Viking Tavern for a successful birthday and the perfect end to a perfect vacation! Skål! 🍻

Very tasty food and friendly staff. Not too loud, despite lots of people and definitely a change from conventional restaurants. The selection of food in the buffet was varied and very good. If we are ever in Schleswig again, we would be happy to do so again!

We went to the LOKIS RIPPENSCHMAUS on Friday and we really enjoyed it as a family with 3 children/teens! It was very relaxed at 6:30 p.m. and we really enjoyed the time!

Great, that's all I can say. The food was excellent, the service was very, very nice and I don't need to say anything about the ambience, the pictures say it all.

Highly recommended. It's a bit too tight in the basement and after a while the air doesn't get any better. We had booked the event with ax throwing and archery. For 85 euros per person I expected a little more. The two who explained how to shoot a bow and throw an ax did a really great job. Unfortunately, after an hour the archery and ax throwing were over. The food was very tasty and plentiful. The mead and beer never ran out either. But as I said, for 85 euros I expected more. All in all a lovely evening.

The Viking tavern is absolutely recommended. We stopped here specifically on our way through. The staff is very friendly. The ambience is really impressive and worth seeing. The food is freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. There is something for every taste. We will definitely come back.

I have to say that we have rarely eaten something so delicious. The service was absolutely great. And the atmosphere is like coming home. The food wow. Potatoes and the salad and the meat first. We'd love to come back. People enjoy the food and being together. The only drawback is the small parking lot. But thank you for cooking with heart.

Very good quality and friendly staff. Superbly prepared knuckles and chicken, the homemade salad and side dishes were also top-notch, as were the drinks. We were there for Thor's Table. We'll be back on our next vacation 🍻

Cool concept, different theme days between Wednesday and Friday with different all-you-can-eat buffets. We were there for ribs on Friday. Despite being a well-filled restaurant, it didn't feel crowded. Food was good, friendly service and a perfectly fitting rustic atmosphere.

We were here as part of a company outing. Great ambience and large buffet in keeping with the Viking theme.

After years, my wife and I managed to go to the Viking tavern. We've heard a lot, both positive and negative. What can I say... We can't understand the negative reports and the positive stories were clearly understated. The food was a pure feast. I can't remember ever having something like that at the salad bar. A huge compliment to the kitchen! The mead is also highly recommended. The staff was always nice and accommodating. Together with the really successful ambience, it was an unforgettable evening for us. And we will definitely do it again! I read a negative review somewhere about the prices. I can't understand that. The prices are absolutely reasonable for what you get. If you want something cheap, you can also get fast food a few hundred meters away.

My wife and I actually found out about the restaurant by chance, then reserved a table by phone the day before and what followed the next day was “pure surprise.” As a hunter and “carnivore,” I claim to be able to judge good food. So I tried every type of "ribs", especially the wild boar ones, and was simply speechless - THE chef or chefs know their job and the entire meal was simply delicious - The salad buffet also so that even those who refuse to eat meat get their money's worth. The whole thing was completed by a "highly motivated" waitress who actually "lives" her job and reads the guest's wishes in a friendly, kind and careful manner - the staff behind the counter are also very friendly!!! We were totally thrilled.

Good regional cuisine in a nice atmosphere

We were there yesterday for the dinner buffet. It was really very tasty and the mead is highly recommended! The meat was really just perfect and the selection of salads and bread was really fantastic. Very happy again!

32 thalers for brunch without drinks are definitely too much for me... Yes, everything is delicious and well prepared, but who should spend so much money on a long breakfast/lunch... with drinks it costs over 40 euros per person. Craziness...

If you really want to go out for a rustic meal and ideally with larger groups, this is the place for you. There is also the opportunity to get acquainted with "Viking games".

It's always nice to come back there. The Wikingerschänke is beautifully designed, very friendly staff and also suitable for special occasions. If you want some action, you can also book an event with ax throwing and archery. The food itself is different than what we usually know. All regional ingredients, but different from what we usually know. We go there regularly and have been for years. Highly recommended.

We were there for brunch on Christmas Day because we were so excited last year. Unfortunately we were very disappointed this year. Hot food was very sparse (only duck legs), the staff was short-staffed and the cozy atmosphere was missing. I'm sorry, but last year it was 5 stars and now only 3. It was also just too expensive for what was on offer.

We were here for the Christmas party with almost 100 people and we were still provided with drinks throughout and no one was thirsty! Great food, great drinks and an incredibly nice team that can also deal with drunk construction workers. What a great event!

We had our Christmas party with 15 people here and it was a big disappointment. There was no real organization in the activities offered as well as no real conditions at the table. We celebrated in the so-called basement. It was like being at the train station. The price-performance ratio was not right here at all.

We were here for the first time today, but it won't be the last time. The waitresses were very friendly and the buffet was great.

If you want to have a nice evening, go here. The food was simply great, great location, super nice and fast service at the table. We had a good time with 16 people and everyone was thrilled, it wasn't the last time we were here. Any time.

Many thanks to the great team at the Wikingerschänke in Busdorf 👍🏼 We were able to celebrate my and my daughter's birthday on October 4th, 2020 in the Wikingerschänke and were absolutely thrilled! Even people who don't have a Viking theme can celebrate wonderfully there! The bright guest room, lovingly decorated with beautiful floral decorations and candles, invited you to a cozy coffee and cake! An area was kept free for a play area, and there was also a children's table with the charm of a Viking tavern! The children were able to play and romp wonderfully. If this isn't enough, there is also a large playground outside! Since it was, among other things, our daughter's first birthday, we stuck to coffee and cake because she doesn't have that much stamina yet😉 Here you can get delicious cakes and cakes from Occo's own pastry shop. For the hearty, there were homemade sausage specialties from Odins, regional cheese and butter as well as delicious bread from Odins! (can also be purchased at Odin's farm shop) This wasn't the first time for us at the Wikingerschänke... The themed buffets such as burgers, ribs and so on are also highly recommended! The atmosphere of the guest rooms is cozy and the staff is very attentive! Keep it up! We'll be back 🤗

Fantastic experience Very Viking oriented Both food, interior and overall look

I celebrated my 40th birthday here and we recently went there for the burger buffet. This restaurant is fantastic in every way. Regional products, excellently processed. Fresh bread, regional meat, homemade mead. So tasty and good. No matter whether the juices, all types of mead (beer mix, wine, schnapps) it just tastes good. For my birthday we went to the Viking grotto with Odin's tablet. Plus archery and ax throwing. Absolutely brilliant. As a Viking fan, I got my money's worth and find the prices for the offer absolutely justified. The ambience is great: light, music, furnishings, handcrafted decorations, fire in the fireplace - perfect. Things are pretty rustic in the Viking grotto, matching the ambience there, nothing more will be revealed :) I'm already looking forward to the next time. Skål!!

We have the store on Wednesday for the Heimdalls Mal (burger buffet) and on Saturday for the Skartis Tafel (buget with juicy meat specialties). We found the price to be very good - you got very good, tasty food, whatever you wanted. There was a friendly, warm atmosphere, with an open fire in the middle of the large banquet hall. We would always come back.

The store is great. I would have liked vegetables with the ribs. Wild boar rib sauce was not necessary as it drowned out the great taste of the wild boar. (Hunderpro my opinion 😁)

Absolute Vollkatastrophe. Spareribs satt bis 21.00 Uhr für 32€ hieß es. 18.45 Uhr Tisch bestellt, keine Spareribs mehr da. Wurden stattdessen mit völlig verkochtem Rindfleisch abgefertigt welches um 19.30 Uhr auch leer war. Dazu warmes Bier, ein Traum. Als Ausrede, " die Köchin Uhr leider im Urlaub" super schlecht. Komplette 32€ sollten wir natürlich trotzdem bezahlen. Totales Desaster!

Absolute catastrophe. Went there to eat sprat ribs. Should go until 9 p.m. Ordered a table at 6:45 p.m. and didn't get any spare ribs. As a consolation I got a schnapps on the house that was warmer than my beer. Shitty evening with a side plate. Of course I still had to pay the full €32/person. Never again!

Friday evening - Grilled honey spare and beef ribs. Potato wedges. Crisp, fresh, regional salads. Homemade flatbread. Everything was delicious, good selection. We were 4 meat eaters and 3 vegetarians and EVERYONE was completely satisfied. The bones were super easy to pull out of the buttery soft beef ribs. The waitresses were all very nice and attentive. Ambience clean and rustic. Prices are appropriate for the quality of the food. We will come back in any case. Thanks again!

The staff are very friendly, the food is very good, the salad has a large selection, the meat is super tender and the rolls are fluffy. The rooms are "Viking" appropriate, but if it's completely full it could get loud. We would definitely like to come back.

Rich brunch buffet with a very large selection of various delicacies, warm and cold. Coffee, tea and cocoa are included in the buffet price and are never in short supply. Incredibly delicious dessert. There's nothing to complain about in terms of the ambience, the service was very good despite the temporarily forgotten cocoa. I would give more stars if I could.

Canteen food and bad conditions

We were there on Wednesday for the burger buffet and we were all very excited. Both the beef burger patties and the vegetarian alternative impressed us. The selection of different salads was very nice and the homemade rolls were very tasty. We'd love to come back.

Bereits bei der Auffahrt auf den Parkplatz wurden wir vom Wikingerflair begrüßt. Runenschrift, Wikingeralltagsgegenstände in den Fenstern... Die Schänke ist konsequent eingerichtet. Felle, Holz, Irdenes Geschirr, die Kleidung der Mitarbeiter, die Musik... Sogar die Schlitze der Belüftungsanlage in der Decke waren mit holz verkleidet. Odins Bier (mit Met, sehr lecker) wurde stilvoll in Hörnern serviert. Wir waren zum Rippchenbuffet da. Es gab Spareribs (Schwein), Rippchen vom Rind und vom Wildschwein. Dazu eine große Auswahl an Salaten (Grüner Salat, Gurkensalat, Coleslaw, roter Krautsalat, weißer Krautsalat, Bohnensalat, Blumenkohlsalat, Kartoffelsalat, und andere), Bratkartoffeln, geröstete Drillinge, einen superleckeren Kräuterquark, diverse hausgemachte Soßen, selbst gebackene Brötchen und noch einiges Mehr. Wir konnten gar nicht alles probieren. Alles schmeckte knackig frisch zubereitet und sehr lecker. Das Fleisch war so zart, dass es schon fast vom Knochen fiel. So müssen Rippchen sein! Es war ein unvergesslicher Abend. Wir würden sehr gern wieder kommen. Leider wohnen wir in Wuppertal. Aber wer weiß... vielleicht machen wir mal wieder Urlabub in der Nähe. Dann sind wir sicherlich wieder in der Wikingerschänke!

This place is the most touristy ever. Yes, the food, I had the burger buffet was quite good with different kinds of meat and toppings. But my God, the meat has cost more than the system company, and that means something! Especially if you know that you can buy the same mead at EDEKA for half the price. I would love to come again, but maybe not as often.

We got a place for the car right in front of the door because we had a car trailer. I thought that was great. And then we also have a great place for ourselves and our 2 dogs get there without a reservation. I don't even need to start talking about the incredibly delicious food, my stomach almost burst. A pity! Were regular customers for years. Food was always great! Unfortunately, the knuckles and Galloway beef were canceled on Saturday without informing the customers. Instead there is now roast pork with a wobbly crust! Was our last visit!

This tavern is only recommended. The Viking blood is awesome. And the food! By all the gods 😁. We had rarely eaten such a tender knuckle. The chicken, also a poem. Overall a nice experience. Food was good, drinks unfortunately too warm. Music a bit too loud, staff friendly. We were missing a small dessert. At just under €50 p.p. already quite expensive.

The food was ok! But asking your guests to finally pay at 9pm on a Friday evening so that you can clean up in peace is an absolute disgrace!! We drove 80 kilometers for this disappointment. Nice restaurant and definitely worth a visit. We were there to eat Spare Rips. It was all very tasty, but I tend to overeat quickly because of the buffet. We found €32 per person without drinks a little too much, as the drinks weren't exactly cheap either. We really enjoyed it and had a great evening, but you only do that once.

Everything is great here, great service, delicious food

Certainly an experience for the inexperienced Viking tourist. The food is great, hunger is recommended. The atmosphere is okay, but there are lots of options for expansion. The waitress's clothing is a bit careless and superficial. The Spax screws in the wood could be replaced with visually rustic (authentic) nails. In the end it is a modern restaurant that is decorated in a Viking style, but the real flair can be found somewhere else that is much more (perhaps) authentic. The drinks were a bit overpriced. If the facility was better I would have accepted the drink prices.

The staff can't be beaten in terms of friendliness and recognize special occasions and turn them into special moments. There you can still see the joy in the work and the goal of giving the guest a nice stay and conveying a great atmosphere. Despite the longer journey, we will definitely come back.

We booked Odin's Table and were thrilled. Maybe Heiko didn't have to extend the instruction on ax throwing and archery so much, but his stories were interesting. Food and drinks were constantly replenished and we felt very looked after.
