We ate at Weinkrüger on a Saturday evening (8 pm) with five people. Good, German cuisine, nothing to complain about. One star deducted for service because we had to wait just over an hour for our food.

The restaurant is simply fantastic. I can't say it any other way. The ambiance in this beautiful half-timbered house invites you to linger and exudes a heartwarming coziness, especially on cold winter days. Until the excellent food warms your body from the inside out. My girlfriend and I were thrilled with the gourmet pan, and the name definitely says it all. The starter was perfect for the season and also very tasty. The service was excellent, too. We'll definitely be back.

I recently had lunch there. They had an additional autumn menu, and the dishes were very good. The croquettes that accompanied the meat were homemade, something you rarely find these days. Overall, it was definitely not run-of-the-mill!

Very tasty food, very friendly service and a pleasant rustic ambience.

We ate there yesterday with the whole family (5 people). We remembered the place from our student days in the 90s and have to say, it hasn't lost any of its charm. The food was excellent, and the service was always friendly and attentive. This won't be the last time we'll be here. We'll be happy to come back. PS: Very dog-friendly ;-)

We went to Weinkrüger for lunch today. We were there spontaneously. We received a warm welcome and ordered from the lunch menu. The food was very tasty and plentiful. Good value for money 👍 Open from 12-2 p.m. You should arrive by 1:30 p.m.

We ate outside. The starter, carpacio, was a bit different than usual, but very tasty. For the main course, we had a lamb fillet and a sea bream fillet, both very good.

We've been here several times without a reservation. You might not get your favorite spot, but you're seated in a friendly manner. The food is unfussy, home-style, reasonably priced, and of good quality. The service was very attentive and friendly, even though it was busy during peak Sunday evening dining time. The ambiance, both inside and out, is very relaxed and cozy, inviting you to linger and enjoy yourself. A pleasant spot amidst the hustle and bustle of the city center!

The food was really good. The service was also decent. The ambiance could use a bit of a makeover. The old half-timbered house is beautiful, but that doesn't mean it needs to be so dimly lit.

I highly recommend this restaurant. While the service was underrated, it was always friendly and courteous. The food was delicious. Due to the limited staffing, you had to be a bit patient, but the friendly company and good conversation helped.

We went to this beautiful restaurant for dinner on Saturday, July 12, 2025 (after a spontaneous table reservation at lunch) with a couple of friends. A lovely table, service with expert knowledge of the dishes on the menu and the many beers and wines made us happy to stop by. The menu is excellent, everything is served with love, and every glance at the plate lets customers feel the creative chefs. The wait for the food is perfect. Requests for drinks and desserts are unobtrusive!!! Dining here is truly a pleasure. The customer is king! The value for money is also very good. We're already thinking about when we'll be back next time. We've recommended this restaurant countless times, and we've been thanked each time for the great recommendation. That really speaks volumes.

One of the most beautiful restaurants in Osnabrück. It offers a very extensive wine list and a comprehensive menu. The service is extremely friendly. A few seats are available outside when the weather is nice. It's definitely worth a visit!

I'm often in OS, but very rarely eat here. And today I know why again... The location is super cozy! The service, perfect!!! A Russian lady and a young man manage to do what not even three waiters can do in other restaurants. And always with a smile and with absolute kindness!!! Thank you 🙏 them for that!!! The wine 🍷 and the apricot are delicious and at a really reasonable price! Unfortunately the food… not really fresh quality. Lots of frozen food and cheap products. Unfortunately it didn't suit my taste! Too bad!!! Because this store deserves it!!! Where are all the TV chefs in the world who could add the finishing touches to this good shop?!?!?

The service is charmingly semi-professional and attentive, like the rest of us in our student days. But serving a salad with canned corn, canned kidney beans, and dried fruit (late May) during the peak harvest season for asparagus and strawberries is a testament to the culinary insanity of the kitchen. The discrepancy between the excellent location and the food on offer leaves me perturbed.

Meat from the goulash was tough - kitchen said it wasn't tough - bad luck - tried to eat almost half of it and unfortunately spat out most of it because it wasn't eaten

The food was very good and the portion was absolutely sufficient. Nice and fast service. It's hard to manage dessert, that's how much it was. The toilets are clean and I also liked the ambience. There is no parking on site, although there is a parking garage not far away. I definitely recommend it. Thank you very much, it was delicious!!

My wife and I felt very comfortable there. The restaurant is very rustic and lovingly furnished. The staff is very friendly and attentive. And the food is really excellent and rich.

Were there for the first time today. The food and the dessert were very tasty, but I found the meat to be too well done. The girls were on their toes and the place just looks rustic and quaint. Anyone who likes good home cooking is in good hands here.

I'm there more often - generally worth a visit! The lamb fillet on tagliatelle was very tasty, the roasted sausages were decent and the gourmet pan scored with the portion size. Unfortunately the Argentine Angus steak wasn't that good. Generally recommended!

When I'm in Osnabrück, a visit to Weinkrüger is one of the things on the agenda. The food is always excellent, the portions are large and the prices are reasonable. The friendly service makes every visit a wonderful experience. This time (January 13, 2025) there were Königsberger Klopse with potatoes and beetroot, delicious!

Delicious food, good quick service, eight different dishes for eight people were served at the same time. Nice atmosphere, not as loud as other restaurants. Dogs are allowed as long as they behave.

Local in the middle of the old town with a really nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the service and food were really not good on our last visit. We were there on a Sunday lunchtime and with us there were max. 2 other tables occupied. The service staff seemed relatively unmotivated and unfortunately a rather simple change of order (the vegetarian schnitzel with a different sauce than on the menu) was not possible. Despite the real "emptiness" in the restaurant, we sometimes had to look for the waitress because she had apparently disappeared into the kitchen for a long time. Unfortunately, the food was also not a suitable compensation. I had kale, which was okay, but I've had significantly better kale.

The building alone gives you a good feeling. You step back in time. Menu is small, but there is enough choice. Unfortunately, I found the dishes somewhat disappointing. Friendly staff.

A short trip to the Christmas market brought us here in the evening. The restaurant is in an old half-timbered house and is rustic! Despite the full house, the food came quickly and was very tasty.

Despite the increased number of people at Christmas time, the waiting time for drinks and food was reasonable. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating despite the crowds. The restaurant is historic and has a special charm. Everyone really enjoyed the schnitzel and kale dishes. The apple strudel with ice cream is also recommended. I personally can't comment on the wine.

Good food, mediocre wine. Our first bottle of wine was vinegar. It may fit, but service would initially dispute it. Overall, rather mediocre wines at top prices. Better drink beer and enjoy it.

We always enjoyed coming, the shop is really very nice. Unfortunately we were unlucky for the third time today and had to return the food. Unfortunately, the meat (chicken breast and rump steak) was all very tough, the spinach was inedibly salty and the croquettes were cold and the fries were undercooked. We were really hungry, and you often overlook one thing or another, especially in times of staff shortages. On the other hand, you also spend a lot of money in restaurants and can expect a certain quality. But well, anything can happen. What we could least understand was that our complaint was not handled very professionally. We complained about it to the temporary service worker and she wanted to forward it to her boss. Since I had already said that we would like to return everything and leave, I would have liked a more professional approach instead of sending the nice young temporary employee back and saying that they would take a meal off the bill. I would have preferred to have a conversation like this with a decision-maker. Good complaint discussions also need to be learned. And then the guest comes to eat again. Unfortunately we don't anymore. Really a shame. We also find such reviews difficult, but this is mainly about how we deal with a complaint and that wasn't very professional. Eating can always go wrong.

Antique building, old charm, dark wood. A great ambience for fans, overall a bit very dark. Often very crowded. Reservation makes sense. Restaurant is spread over several floors, toilets in the basement. Always up and down stairs. Food rustic, good home-style. In our case, the meat quality of the schnitzel wasn't that good and there was only a little sauce. There is still room for improvement. When the place is full, it is often very loud. There's probably no insulation there. The volume only comes from the conversations. It is often difficult to have your own conversations. But you have to decide between comfort and antique ambience. Service was friendly, but a little overwhelmed when the house was full. All in all, a good tip in the city center.

The restaurant is really quaint and offers a great ambience. The food was more than plentiful, to the point and very nicely prepared. The taste was wonderful! Due to a lack of staff we had to wait a bit, but the waitress really did her best and remained super nice even under the most stress. However, older people and people with physical disabilities cannot find everything they need here, as most of the chairs are bar stool-like high chairs with correspondingly high tables and the toilets are in the basement, which at first glance only leads to a steep staircase.

We were there on Easter Saturday. Food was very tasty. One condition seemed very nice and professional. Unfortunately, someone else had brought one of our meals to another table, which meant we were almost finished when the one missing meal arrived. Overall, a bit stuffy air, but a nice atmosphere and good food for a fair price.

Had a very nice rumpsteak for dinner, it was cooked perfectly and very tasty. It came with fried onions which were super tasty and amazing. We also had some fries and a schnitzel with mushroom sauce that was really good. Would definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner and some good wine or beers.

Had dinner at Weinkrüger again after over 30 years. We were a group of 8 people. The food was very good and the service was very attentive. The next date is already set!

Unfortunately I didn't like the food. I had the spinach crepes, which lacked the kick. Salt, pepper, garlic. But of course it's a matter of taste. The ambience was great and the service too!

Long waiting time, bad food, no service... It's a shame

Unfortunately, we were not informed before we were given a table that it was desirable that we also eat something. That's why we were given a time limit of half an hour for our wine and then we had to pay in cash because card payments are only possible from €10. But the wine was good.

We just wanted to have a glass of wine (the name of the restaurant immediately appealed to us), despite the fact that there were plenty of free tables, we were positioned at an unoccupied counter. Okay, it was 5:30 p.m. on a Saturday, but the restaurant wasn't full at the time. When we paid we had to pay €11.40, the €12 given was simply kept - the tip was basically assumed. I like to tip a lot, but not when it comes to treatment! The restaurant will never see us again.

Christmas dinner Unfortunately the prosecco didn't bubble at all... the grill pan was on the table after 20 minutes and tasted of absolutely nothing... only the wine was okay... but that's not enough to visit the restaurant again It's a shame it has a nice atmosphere

Very nice atmosphere. Unfortunately neither the service nor the food is good. We went to the restaurant at 5:00 p.m., apart from us there were only about 8 other guests there. My wife's schnitzel was bland and didn't taste like anything. The ketchup we ordered was forgotten and also the lemon. I had ordered a second beer with my meal, which was not brought. This is definitely not due to a lack of staff. No recommendation from me.
