Weinhaus Kurtrierer Hof GbR in Leiwen

A typical restaurant with a relaxed and warm family atmosphere. I recommend it, the hosts are very welcoming and the dishes are hearty and homemade. Thank you to the whole family for the warm welcome, we had a great time, the children were delighted.

Unfortunately not recommended, apparently there have been new operators since this year. As a group (6 adults, 7 children) we had previously reserved for Saturday evening: - the children and we waited almost 2 hours for the food, for the children the pasta was made with chili instead of tomato sauce. Parents can imagine the children's reactions and mood (silent up to that point!) - both trout were brought half raw - the mushroom sauce was lumpy and worse than in the canteen - the Greek salad consisted mainly of greens, tomatoes and some sheep's cheese and was a side salad in terms of quality - the side salad was bitter and couldn't be eaten with the ready-made sauce Overall, we have never eaten so badly in recent years, so my food tastes better in the hospital canteen or better as a student at university. Apparently there was a breakdown in the kitchen, but we should have been told that beforehand! Accepting a group like this and making children wait until almost 9 p.m. to eat (for noodles with chili at the end) is not possible and cannot be excused. We had to pay the full price except for the refusal for the Greek salad, which wasn't there. We had to pay in cash, card payment was not possible, even though we said so beforehand. The waitress then found out about our dissatisfaction (a nice person), and the boss avoided coming to us (even though she was there the whole time). Anything can happen, but the quality of the food and communication were subpar. Not recommended unless you just want to drink wine.

Unfortunately an absolute failure! Apparently the owner changed here recently. Unfortunately, this is far from being able to confirm the 4.5 star rating at the moment! In particular, the so-called boss doesn't deserve the title. We had previously made reservations by telephone for a group of 13 people, including 7 children. A nice little shop with a nice courtyard. After ordering, we were informed that you could only pay in cash, but a bank transfer was also possible since we didn't have much cash with us. The drinks came promptly, but unfortunately we had to wait a good 1.5 hours for the food. The children were only put off with “it will take a while”. Even the (extremely bitter and inedible for children) salad with the children's schnitzel took 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, the main courses couldn't collect any points either. Partly raw trout, soggy and lumpy mushroom sauce (fortunately served separately), spaghetti with spicy curry sauce instead of tomato sauce and an inedible parsley pesto as a dressing for the Greek salad (of course the same bitter salad as with the schnitzel), unfortunately ruined this evening for us. After we complained about 2/3 things, no one came to us anymore - no more drinks, no mayonnaise/ketchup for the children. But the crowning glory of it all was that the “boss” disappeared after requesting the bill and left her employee (aside from the wine, the only bright spot in this shop) to deal with the situation. For us at least the salad was taken off the bill, for the others there was no real discount. Since the "boss" didn't want to come out to clarify the situation, we had to pay the bill directly and in cash. Unfortunately, transfer was no longer possible spontaneously. After we left the location, the “boss” returned and we could see her through the window… Every beginning is difficult, but if you mess up, you should own up to it and not send your employees into the fire. All in all a failure. If you're just looking for a glass of good wine, you can definitely find it here. You should be very careful when eating!

We took part in the Advent an der Mosel offer from Kurtrierhof. Very good and friendly people. Very good service, including transport to the Christmas markets. Arrived on time and dinner was very tasty and enough. Breakfast was also good. Definitely recommended for us.

We were here in the fall after the holidays and were looking for a place to stop for a break in the afternoon. Not that easy. But here it is open from 1 p.m., which is very positive. In addition, very friendly service, good food and delicious wines. All in all, nothing to complain about!

We ate there this evening. The service was very friendly and the food was excellent. Delicious schnitzel with mushroom sauce and fried potatoes, just like grandma used to make. The dining room is very well maintained, and we'd love to come back next time we're in Leiwen.

The owners speak German and Polish. Very nice people. Everything tastes good. We recommend

German food with excellent wine

Mediocre restaurant. Chicken fillet, a little bit of fries and a vague sauce for 20 euros. 1 main course not delivered, would have been made urgently, but not at all. Would another portion of fries come, wouldn't it? It wouldn't come with a salad, we had to ask for it twice. Not recommended!

Lunch was OK. Their Riesling was delicious

Hôtel restaurant très tranquille, cuisine simple, traditionnelle, ambiance familiale très agréable et prix raisonnables. A conseiller.

Sometimes an “emergency solution” becomes a “journey of discovery”... We actually wanted to stay somewhere else in Leiwen after a planned visit to a restaurant. Due to lack of availability we ended up in the “Kurtrierer Hof”. We value historical buildings and accept minor compromises in terms of comfort in order to maintain their inimitable flair. The building complex, which is over 400 years old, now houses a winery as well as a guest house and an ostrich restaurant (which is currently being transformed into a restaurant). Our room was spacious, relatively modern and extremely inexpensive. The fact that some of the noises of running water from the next room were noticeable at night was probably due to the absolutely quiet location of the house. We felt welcome and valued by the May family, our hosts. When we asked, we learned a lot about the farm, the winery, tourism and Leiwen's perspectives. The Pinot Blanc house wine served in the room was delicious, and the breakfast the following morning was totally satisfying. So we had a lovely stay, which ended with the firm intention of coming back to Leiwen soon... of course with an overnight stay and (probably also) wine tasting at the Kurtrierer Hof.

Friendly run family business, the rooms are fully equipped.

Good value for money for the room with breakfast and the drinks we had in the beer garden. Rooms large and clean, box spring bed, coffee machine and refrigerator. Breakfast was simple, there were no rolls, I would have liked to have eaten one. Nice selection of wines on the drinks menu. I can't say anything about the food.

A beautiful family-run farm. The rooms are functionally equipped, but are sufficient for a hiking weekend on the Moselle. The bed was brand new and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious, only the breakfast room was a bit uncomfortable.

We stayed here for 1 night with the motorcycle. Motorcycles were allowed to park inside the closed area without any problems. Rooms are spacious and very neat. The breakfast was also extensive and delicious! The village itself is for people who are looking for peace and quiet.

Heel leuke accomodatie aan de moezel. De kamers zijn proper en ruim niks op aan te merken. Heel mooie omgeving om te wandellen en ook heel belangerijk de wijnen zijn top. Zeker een aanrader

Dejlig vin og passende mængder ost, skinke og brød... elementært! Fin og familiær atmosfære med tre generationer i gården.

Bei unserem letzten Moselaufenthalt waren wir einige Tage in Kurtrierer Hof in Leiwen. Die Zimmer waren geräumig und gut eingerichtet und das Frühstück war reichlich. Auch für den kleinen Imbiss ist das Lokal empfehlenswert. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist überragend.
