Weinbauer Schoppenstube in Bad Wiessee

What a wonderful evening. This is Bavarian hospitality. We reserved a table for Thursday evening. There's always brass band music on Thursdays, which is highly recommended. We received a warm welcome. The food (shredded ox, cordon bleu) was excellent. The drinks were also excellent. The service was incredibly helpful and friendly. We ate here twice during our vacation. The second evening was just as great. Thank you for that.

⭐☆☆☆☆ Unfortunately, not recommended for a family meal Our visit to the Weinbauer am Tegernsee was disappointing, especially if you're looking for a nice evening with the family. We had to wait over an hour and a half for our food, even though the restaurant wasn't even full. When we politely inquired, we didn't receive an understanding response, but rather an accusatory tone with the advice that we should "continue to be patient." When the food finally arrived, it was unfortunately barely edible, and there was no apology or any kind of accommodating response from the restaurant. The service also seemed overwhelmed and unfriendly; drinks were forgotten several times, and orders were overlooked. In a renowned restaurant on Lake Tegernsee, I would have expected more friendliness, organization, and, above all, customer service. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant for a relaxed family meal or a special occasion.

In short, food 10/10, service for our stag party friendly, quick-witted and of a high standard, anytime again!

Delicious food, great team, quaint

Unfortunately, we can't understand these highly lauded reviews. The four of us sat at two opposite tables for two on the first evening. The waitress, a young man, was friendly and courteous. The food arrived at the same time for both tables. The host interrupted our conversation several times... actually disrespectful to us... but no matter, because... a long journey, hunger, and tiredness... you get the idea? The second evening, our last evening at Tegernsee, after 6 days, was a complete disaster. Same seat, same tables... simultaneous food orders were taken. Our friends' food arrived (regulars at the hotel and restaurant). After 25 minutes, we asked for our food. We were very surprised; we had ordered only 20 minutes earlier. That wasn't right; we had ordered at the same time, and our friends had already finished eating. So what about our last meal together? The evening was already over. Oh yes, the proprietor came back and interrupted our four-way conversation again. Our irritation grew. The food arrived... the onion roast beef was still raw inside, my cordon bleu was burnt in some places, and the fried potatoes were the same. We complained about the onion roast beef, and the proprietor "lectured" my husband. He asked if my husband knew the etiquette for such an order. What a cheek! My husband had ordered an onion roast! and NOT a steak! With a steak, they ask the guest how it's done, but with an onion roast beef, that would be new to us. An onion roast beef should be cooked through, meaning slightly pink inside. Raw is way off the mark. By the way, the tone is also important, and the proprietor can and should refrain from sarcasm and a smug undertone, especially when the guest is right. The roast was exposed to the heat again, and the gravy, which was still clinging to the piece of roast, created a hard, dry crust. Once it's "going right," it's going right. We actually didn't want to tip, but we rounded up €1.10 for this "chef's art." The proprietor raised his eyebrows. Unbelievable! No apology, no word of regret, no insight whatsoever. We've never been treated like this in a restaurant before. A mistake, okay, it can happen, but there are so many no-nos. Price/performance ratio is rather vague here. First evening, downpour, second evening... completely unacceptable! The proprietor's understanding of gastronomy, the one displayed here—disrespect for the guest, blaming the kitchen's mistakes on the guest, and the inability to even utter the word "apology"—certainly doesn't contribute to success. We recommend that the owner simply stay behind the counter and leave the service to his staff; they do it a million times better. And don't worry... we definitely won't be back. Banning us from the premises, as was the case with a previous, also disappointed, writer here, makes little sense.

Waren leider etwas enttäuscht, mein Extrawunsch (beim Knödel-Dreierlei statt Käseknödel 2x Semmelknödel) konnte nicht umgesetzt werden, musste deshalb was anderes essen. Das Essen war dann nach 5 min fertig (Rinderrouladen mit Knödel und Blaukraut und Käsespätzle); frisch war es daher nicht. Ich selbst habe auch schon bessere Käsespätzle gegessen, die Rinderrouladen waren aber lecker. Sind nach 40min wieder aus dem Restaurant gegangen (Massenabfertigung)

Wir waren am 01. Mai vor Ort und konnten dank einer kurzfristigen telefonischen Reservierung noch eine Platz ergattern. Das Ambiente war sehr schön. Das Essen (Forelle und Brozeitteller und als Nachtisch hausgemachter Kaiserschmarrn) war sehr lecker.

The location of the pub is cool, away from the crowds (at least when we were there it was empty). Prices? Tall and quite small portions. We had ribs and beef roulade. The ribs and additions in the form of fried potatoes were definitely too fatty - they lacked something fresh to break, like a regular salad, cucumber or tomato. The roulade is very soft, falling apart under the fork, and the dumplings are exquisite.

Good service, nice to sit outside. Spinach dumplings and Kaiserschmarrn are very tasty!

Bavarian dishes in a traditional setting. Brezel with cream cheese and red onions for the starter. Trout, locally sourced and perfectly prepared, with potatoes for the main. Would certainly come back and try something else from the menu.

We were here for dinner. The food was delicious. Starting with the liver dumpling soup, the main course included delicious ox shreds, juicy, tender and pink, with fresh, colorful grilled vegetables and a great tzatziki with homemade potato rosti. But the absolute highlight was the dessert. A Kaiserschmarrn to kneel down on. Fluffy, caramelized and topped with delicious rum raisins, accompanied by great applesauce. Chapeau and best regards to the cooking team. The service was very friendly. All in all, a wonderfully successful evening. Very happy again

Das Restaurant Weinbauer bietet leckeres Essen in einer urigen Atmosphäre. Die Gastgeber sind nett und um das Wohlbefinden bemüht. Zudem gibt es eine reichhaltig Auswahl an verschiedenen Weinen. Das Ayinger Bier ist nicht meins aber gut. Das ist Geschmackssache. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Nice selection of wines and legendary sorbet (we had raspberry and sour cherry) Roast roast was good, fried onions and fried potatoes that weren't crispy didn't convince me... the sauce we ordered didn't come until we had eaten... Definitely worth a second try due to the good service and the lovely atmosphere...

One thing in advance: the food was good! We were promised a table over the phone, we were then led up the stairs and found ourselves at the table in the breakfast room of the 3* hotel above. Canteen atmosphere. Waited 45 minutes for the food. Hungry asked for bread and butter. This came together with the food at minute 50. Staff erratic, understaffed and overwhelmed. You can feel sorry for them. We're not going back.

Had a falafel burger, wow what a taste experience, a bit of spiciness with lots of fresh lettuce and tomatoes, no ketchup and mayo stuff, for me it was just great! Nice service, there was delicious Pinot Blanc from Austria at the counter, all in all a successful evening.

Fantastic experience this evening. The staff is wonderful. Delicious "home-cooked" meals. Char, Schnitzel, Cordon Bleu, soup, three spreads with a great nutty brown bread. GET THE KAISERSCHMARRN. I'm not local like it shows. From the USA. One of the best meals I've had in two weeks across Europe.

Das Essen war maximal durchschnittlich (Cordon Bleu u Ochsenbäckchen), dafür aber deutlich zu teuer. Die Portionen waren ebenfalls eher klein, sodass Junior nachbestellen (Spätzle ohne alles). In Summe eher enttäuscht leider.

Favorite place to be, don't usually eat salads but with a steak and bratkartoffeln it was an absolute delight

Soup: watery beef broth with hard vegetables. Taste: inharmonious. Salad: colorful salad with sweet and sour dressing - especially sour - slapped on, not turned. Main course: Fried char, the meat dry and stuck to the bone, floating in a brine. Seasoned inside with a mixture of herbs that made the fish taste like gyros. It's unbelievable how you can prepare fish.

In contrast to the many praises, I unfortunately have to give a middle rating here. The atmosphere upstairs resembles a train station restaurant. Food tasted average, quantity below average. Service reserved. Not intended to be repeated.

The waitresses are always friendly and polite. Nobody goes down to the basement to laugh. The food is super delicious 😋 and at fair prices. Once a week there is pork knuckle and live music. Always worth a visit . Little tip: reserve a table in advance

Descriptions of the dishes are poor. It should be mentioned that the tagliatelle are black and that they are Kassler ribs. The original Wiener Schnitzel with a little veal note would also be helpful. Since the inns in the Tegernsee Valley are closing, the quality is also declining. A pity

Decent food in the cozy backyard pub garden or the cozy cellar parlor. Unfortunately, poorly organized and often overwhelmed, but always friendly and helpful service. After the menu for dessert was promised to us again and again for three quarters of an hour, despite repeated requests, but was not brought to us, we suddenly heard that the kitchen was already closed. When we asked kindly whether an exception could be made, since we were not responsible for the late order, we were treated extremely rudely by the innkeeper. It's understandable that something can go wrong. It's understandable that you can't fulfill every wish. But loudly and aggressively rounding up the customer when you yourself are responsible for the mistake - that really doesn't work at all. It's a shame, with a schnapps on the house instead of such a faux pas, this could have been a passable review.

We received a warm and friendly welcome, were given good drinks and ordered our food. The quite good starter arrived quickly. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour for the main course. The reason given to us was that all the seats were occupied. Of course that shouldn't be an excuse. The neighboring tables felt the same way. The atmosphere in the basement was cozy, unfortunately we were placed upstairs. The food was sufficient and ok. But we expected more after the rating of 4.5.

Nice place to sit, unfortunately we were checked in regularly by the friendly service, we were only given a time slot for dinner because there was so much going on. Well, okay. Unfortunately, the food couldn't convince us, the ribs were completely over salted, the trio of dumplings was ok but very firm and not very aromatic. Would we have been better off ordering something else...?

Super nice service. I was too late for the kitchen, but I still got a small bread basket. Only with butter, but still very tasty bread. Next time I'm there earlier, I'll be able to rate the food sooner. But everything looked very good... and super nice service. I wanted to get rid of it again for a moment 😀

This Thursday we had oven-fresh knuckle. This was really very tasty and rich. The price was also really reasonable. At around 6 p.m. there was musical accompaniment from the Warngau brass band and a really nice welcome from the innkeeper. Since there was no more space here within a few minutes, it is definitely advisable to make a reservation in advance. Next time I'm at Tegernsee I'll stop by again.

Wir waren gestern im Weinbauer. Es war, wie man an meiner Bewertung sieht, ein durchschnittliches Erlebnis. Die Bedienungen waren super! Nett, lustig, auf zack! Das Essen hat uns sehr, sehr gut geschmeckt (zwei Fleischesser, ein Vegetarier). Aber, ehrlich, die Portionen sind unterdurchschnittlich groß. Wenn ich essen gehe, nehme ich (wenn kein anderer hilft) IMMER Reste mit nach Hause. Jede Essenslieferung von Lieferando sind zwei Portionen bei mir. Ich hätte nach dem Wiener Schnitzel, das ich gestern beim Weinbauer gegessen habe, noch "Platz" gehabt :) War okay, aber für jemand, der normal mehr isst, wärs zuwenig gewesen. Mein Freund hatte die Ochsenbäckchen. Ochsenbäckchen ist nicht das teuerste Fleisch....die Portion kostet hier ca. EUR 25.....und man musste das Fleisch zwischen dem Gemüse und den Semmelknödeln (zwei Stück und sehr lecker!) suchen. Das Fleisch war megalecker, zart, Messer fast schon unnötig, aber man musste es suchen.... Positiv: Mein Freund hat es angesprochen und tatsächlich um mehr Fleisch gebeten. Und, der Kellner hat zwar gemeint, es wäre in fünf Jahren das erste Mal, dass jemand sagt die Portionen wären zu klein....aber, mein Freund hat noch ein zweites Bäckchen bekommen und musste keinen Aufpreis zahlen.

Sehr schöne Atmosphäre ganz zentral in Bad Wiessee gelegen. Das Lokal befindet sich im Untergeschoß des Hotels und wirkt sehr anheimelnd. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, der Service nett und freundlich. Die Preise eher etwas höher - aber damit muß man am Tegernsee einfach rechnen. Wir haben uns an dem Abend sehr wohl gefühlt und gehen gerne noch einmal dorthin.

I was here on a Thursday, “Haxntag”. But of course there is a huge selection of typical southern German dishes and other national specialties. Really rustic and you can talk to the host and guests!
