Waxy's Irish Pub & Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

Pretty poor service and very hard to get a receipt at the end. Food and atmosphere was decent

I was on the place what a beautiful place , nice music and awesome drinks , the cocktails was the best ones I ever try , so the bartender was so friendly but in specially one who I thinks comes from Spain or something I love it ❤️

The place itself was quite nice, but the bartender withe the earplugs was a bit unreasonable and straight up rude. Everyone else working at the bar was super nice and helpful though.

Although well located in FFM downtown, this eatery is completely incapable of providing average service. Although there was both a confirmation and a reservation via written WhatsApp communication via official channels, this pub turned me away at the entrance. A completely unqualified person who just constantly insulted me rejected me. After a kind of supervisor came to the entrance, things became more polite. However, the reservation confirmed in writing could not be maintained. Our evening ended accordingly. Extremely bad service, no conditions and no reliability.

Wallet was stolen immediately. The staff can't do anything. It's best if you don't take anything with you. Also no jacket, no coat, nothing.

Good atmosphere but the service is chaotic. More than 15 minutes to order a drink

It was here I went with my dad on holiday from Ireland funny enough, and as soon as we walked in we were met by a very rude staff member and immediately decided to leave. Definitely not an Irish pub experience.

Original style with character. Lots of native speakers, which adds to the flair. Prices are a bit high but probably typical for Frankfurt. Service was poor, two times at the table in an hour and a half and we only had beer, so the store would definitely have had more.

Usually one of my favorite places but the bouncers are extremely rude on the weekends. Rude, racist, and homophobic. Made 5 of our friends wait outside and when we asked could they let them in since over 15 of us were inside already, the bouncers started shouting at us very aggresively.

Amazing service! The staff are incredibly friendly and it's hands down the best irish breakfast in town!

We expected more from the burgers - they didn't taste that fresh and the menu doesn't offer much choice The atmosphere is Irish and really appealing. However, it's not ideal for football fans as you can only see the games well from certain tables, and you'll only get one of these tables with a bit of luck. For those who want to watch sports, I recommend getting a table outside if possible. There are several televisions at good eye level, although you may hear the sound from another television.

The price for a pint was a bit extreme, even for the local German beers.

A lovely place and a great atmosphere to watch football games

Long wait for food and beverages, they always make mistake on our order / miss the order 🤯 atleast 25min to get your food or drinks served. Fish and chips, the fish is fine, but can taste that the oil has been used too many time. Chips is slightly below average, mushy peas is a little too salted, tartar sauce is also quite …. below average … Abit disappointed because I expect better tartar sauce from Irish restaurants Bananaweizen - worth a try, I like it, taste better than normal beer 🍺🍌 Atmosphere was great :)

I've been here multiple times. Unfortunately, it's the worst run pub in frankfurt. Could be a great place, but the staff is always in disarray. No matter how busy, always a challenge to get a drink.

If you don't want to have any memories of last night tomorrow, lose your friends and have a lot of fun, then Waxys is the place to be

Super tasty food, the burgers were very tasty, the fries too. Unfortunately, you are always forgotten outside. We waited over half an hour for our drinks and we had to point this out to the staff. The second time we ordered we had to ask two waitresses again about our drinks, so we still waited almost 30 minutes and only one of two drinks came. The other was completely forgotten. It's a shame, that's why there is only one star for the service.

I didn't eat or drink anything, I only went to dance. The music was good and the service seemed fast. It was a bit too crowded on a Friday night.

Good selection, fries were a bit too dry and depending on where you sit, you get quick and good service.

Server and owner were both so nice! Went for an NFL game while Frankfurt and Bayern were playing and they couldn't have been more gracious. Plenty of seating, outside area for extra accommodations, and a lovely staff. We had an amazing time. I will absolutely come back the next time I'm in Frankfurt

Waxy's was good! I got in late and was looking for a place to eat, and an Irish pub rarely disappoints. Food was quick and delicious, and they have local beer plus Guinness on tap, so I was happy. And, it happened to be trivia night!

Acabo de salir de aquí. Pasé a tomar unas copas, pero ni siquiera las terminé. El lugar era agradable, sin embargo, se fue rápidamente ya que otro cliente a nuestro lado en el bar seguía haciendo comentarios racistas vulgares crudos sobre "yanks" y "negros". El hecho de que el personal del bar y la seguridad no le pidieron que se fuera y continuó sirviéndole (tanto alcohol como cerveza) nos llevó a irnos abruptamente antes de que la falta de respeto orientado a nosotros se intensificara.

I’ve been plenty of times with friends and 2 times already for a team building event with my team. Huge variety of beers, food really tasty and service absolutely amazing (rare thing in Germany..). Definitely going back! Thanks Waxyzzzz

The service was friendly and reasonably quick. You can sit outside with music that's a little too loud and smoking is allowed, but it got pretty crowded there in the evenings. The food, here a Guinness burger, is more of a disaster for the price. The burger doesn't have two patties on it, it's more like an undefined minced meat mush that doesn't taste good and that the body wants to get rid of quickly the next morning. For EUR 17 you can expect quality to be on your plate. The Hopf 13 beer is tasty, but expensive at EUR 7.50.

Good pub with friendly staff, they wait on tables and keep you well hydrated and fed. Good for sports. Enjoyed a nice Sunday evening watching NFL. Ideal.

Nice atmosphere, beautiful winter garden. Unfortunately there was no vegan food. I just ordered a drink. Everything fits so far.

An English-speaking restaurant. Nicely presented near the city center. Food relatively expensive for the portion size but tasty. The ribs were about half of what you get in the supermarket including a portion of fries. Cost: 22 euros

Very nice atmosphere. Food is average at best (as any Irish pub food in Germany).

Gran pub irlandés. Tuvimos un par de Kilkenny y una buena cena. Muy buen servicio y buena comida. El pescado y las patatas fritas eran muy buenos. La hamburguesa Guinness era muy bueno también. Muchas oportunidades para ver el partido dondequiera que te sientes. Gran ambiente para ver el partido Irlanda vs Inglaterra.

The meat in the classic hamburger was old, it tasted as if it had been on the fridge for too long. Service and atmosphere are good but it’s quite disappointing to get such low quality food.

The burger was an absolute disgrace, the patty smelled sour, tasted strong and was completely unseasoned. Likewise the fries. Meat seems to be of very poor quality. There was also a lot of seasoning at the neighboring tables. Prices are extortionate. At least the staff is attentive and friendly.

Very good Irish pub to watch football. We didn't eat anything there, but had delicious snakebites and beer. The service could be a little quicker, but it was very friendly.

Dropped in for a full irish, slight confusion at the start with a standard irish being brought out but quickly rectified. Staff were friendly and was quiet and cool inside.

Went there on Sunday, got a table outside and my Mrs went to the bar to get a round. All very nice so far. Then after the first round, I went in to order a round and was told it was table service only. I waited for 30 mins or more and never got served. I decided it was to walk out and not eat the food and informed one of the serving staff of what happened. To which she replied "Thank you".

Nice Irish pub. You just have to get used to the fact that there is a QR code on the table instead of a memory card and drink menu. So without a smartphone it will be difficult. The service is friendly and helpful. Good selection for an Irish pub.

Food was descent. it would have been better if the waitress asked me if there was anything else. I would have liked mustard vs. mayo. Couldn't get her attention for anything.

Mi esposa y yo vinimos aquí a comer algo pensando que un pub irlandés tendría lo “básico” irlandés y tristemente nos decepcionaron. Ahora para ser justos, aparentemente tienen un menú de verano, pero solo queríamos un poco de pescado con papas fritas simple que no estaba disponible. Decidimos tomar una cerveza y buscar comida en otro lugar. Como nota positiva, la cerveza estaba fría y tenían una buena selección. Además, habían perdido personal y el servicio era bueno. En un día caluroso y necesitando una cerveza fría, sin duda volvería a parar aquí de nuevo.

Very cool pub with a great atmosphere. The only bad thing is that you can't make a reservation on important match days and have to get there very early.

Usually good music for all tastes. Very warm and full on the weekends with either DJ and/or Karaoke. High share of men (70%+).

The server brought us the wrong order and when we mentioned it, she exclaimed “Well I can’t read your mind, can I?!” The food was atrocious. Her supervisor ended up comping us both for meals and beverages, but this was the first time in my life where I had to speak to a shift supervisor as a patron in a restaurant. I gave so much empathy to our waitress and for her not to hold back at all was just so funny.

Rip off! I'm still stunned: I had to shell out €16.00 for a wafer-thin meatball with a slice of cheap cheese, a slice of tomato, two lettuce leaves and a portion of lukewarm fries! These are not city prices, they are simply a rip-off. We also had a salad with goat cheese, also here: cost of goods approx. €3.00, also cost €16.00. In addition, the food was almost inedible. The service was also unfriendly because she blamed me as a customer for a misplaced order and then ignored us. It started off quite well, as I ordered a burger without a bun due to a wheat allergy, which was easily possible. But what happened next was just an outrageous disaster. I like to pay decent prices for decent food and I also like to pay a premium for a special ambience or a special location. But this is really a gastronomic low point, as something didn't just go wrong on a bad day, but rather the rip-off has a system. Due to this outrageousness, no other rating than zero stars is conceivable.

The mood was great. Bar staff either too slow or not enough people - I waited at the counter for at least 10 minutes (was actually at the front). Music brought the mood but the DJ and his transitions were really a disaster.

One hour late in opening for door issues. Went for breakfast which is only on at weekends. Cold bacon and no toast… French bread. Pub decided to show the rugby outside despite everyone being there for the euros… one table of rugby fans versus loads of football fans. Bar decline to change Tv… after two hours of waiting we left and went elsewhere.. would not go back if u paid me.

The pub is nice with great atmosphere. It is a good place to watch sports games. tons of screens so wherever you sit, you can see the game. There is a variety of good drinks and food . Most of the staff are nice and helpful, however this one server, has a very unfriendly attitude against certain customers. First of all, I wasn’t finished with my drink, but it looked as if it were almost empty and the server did not ask if he could take the empty glass but instead, he just poked the glass to see if it was empty or not, I tried to understand this kind of behavior since it was a game night and super busy, but the most rude thing happened when I got my second drink, instead of handing me the drink, or putting it down on the table, like a normal server would do - he shoved the tray with the drink to my face and insisted that I should take it by myself. This action even shocked the other guests around us, because this kind of attitude was only shown to us, and not to the other guests. I would have understood this behavior if it were to all of the customers but he was friendly to others and rude to us, which is intolerable. If one doesn’t like to serve a certain type of customers, then i think this type of person should not work in this industry at all.

Sold during the European Championships Guinness in tiny plastic cups without a calibration mark (illegally) for a mere 7 euros. No thanks.

If you like beer and tasty snacks - it is the right place to visit. I ordered Guinness and French fries - all were perfect. The service is also amazing, it is fast and you are not left alone for a long time. The pub itself is nice, there are tables both inside and outside. Online reservation is possible for those that placed outside. If is better to do it in advance in case of sports events. I highly recommend to visit this bar with friends, colleagues and family.

Only positive thing here is the atmosphere and drinks. Save yourself disappointment and don’t eat here. The food was a huge let down. Go for drinks not food

Nice atmosphere, international flair, no entrance fee, friendly and fair door policy. Good choice of drinks, fair prices, footballatches on screen, karaoke night to be recommended.

We wanted to come with 20 people and make reservations, because it's rare to just arrive somewhere with 20 people and get a place. The employees then became super rude, unfriendly and disrespectful. Instead of making the most of your sales, you'd rather scare away your customers. Better go somewhere else!

Decent prices, good for watching sports.

We were here to have a dinner, beer and watch ice hockey championship final. The waitress switched the tv off in the last minut although it was only 22:45. Never seen such unpolite approach.

In itself a nice pub with a covered outdoor area, which is also heated in colder temperatures, and a second outdoor area in front of it. Beer tastes good and there is a good selection. Burgers taste good too, but they're nothing special. The employees are always friendly too. After a certain time there is no longer any service outside, but we were not informed of this.

Most Irish bars have lots more televisions and various sports playing. Here they are quite rigid on what they will show. For instance, I asked if they could put the cricket on as it was very empty, but they insisted on showing an ice hockey rematch from two days previous.

The service was slow but the waiter apologized once she was finally able to take our drink order at our table. After table service outside, we went inside for Dj Dripzz and it was so much fun!! He definitely made up for the slow service and all my friends had a great time. We were able to pay by card for everything, no cash necessary.
