We highly recommend the Wardenburger Watermill as a wedding venue with its beautiful gardens. A wonderful ambiance and a fantastic backdrop! The staff are very friendly and always helpful, which made organizing the event incredibly easy. You feel like a special guest. We celebrated our wedding in August and received excellent advice and support from Ms. Olliges, in particular, from start to finish – from the initial planning to the smallest detail on the wedding day. We particularly liked the fact that she and her staff were always willing to accommodate our wishes without complications. They were able to make everything possible. We didn't even hear a word – that's not right! The day was ultimately perfect all around. The staff were helpful, thoughtful, and very personable. Not to forget – the food, the buffet, was tailored exactly to our wishes and enjoyed by all of the guests. Highly recommended! Thank you! We would be happy to do it again anytime!

Great atmosphere, delicious food, friendly service. I'm only deducting one star because we were only offered a limited menu on Sunday evening. Four meat dishes and the steak, which is no longer available because it's now offered on the main menu as rump steak with rosemary potatoes, isn't enough for me. I wish I'd known this beforehand.

We celebrated our wedding at the Wassermühle (Watermill). We used the charming and beautifully landscaped outdoor area for our ceremony and then celebrated in the barn. Our planning with the Wassermühle was a bit bumpy due to multiple changes in contact person. Nevertheless, our contact person made sure we felt very well looked after and ultimately, everything was perfectly organized. The excellent service and delicious food were particularly noteworthy – our guests were also very impressed! We can definitely recommend the Wassermühle.

I'm thrilled with the ambiance of the Wardenburger Wassermühle. The setting invites you to relax. It's a pleasure to stop here, listen to the gentle lapping of the water, and enjoy the excellent chanterelle risotto with tender roast beef and blueberries. This combination is absolutely amazing, a sensational feast for the palate. There's no other way to describe it. To top it all off, the service is incredibly friendly and even fulfills special requests. All of this, taken together, deserves not just a few stars, but a crown.

Customers not welcome! We came today at an "inconvenient" time (around 12:40 p.m.) to enjoy a drink after a long bike ride. Several "friendly" staff members informed us at the door that it wasn't possible because, after the breakfast buffet, the lunch menus had to be prepared. It was impossible to serve drinks at that time! Thank you very much, and never again!

Such an incredibly beautiful place to celebrate weddings, birthdays, etc. The staff is super friendly and will fulfill your every wish. There's no long wait. Well organized. Totally idyllic outside in the summer. The food was incredibly delicious, simply amazing. All the staff do a great job, and you can be proud of that. I highly recommend the Watermill.

The watermill is a very special place. I celebrated my 35th birthday here outside by the pond, and both I and my guests were thrilled. The idyllic ambiance and the excellent service really won me over. Thank you for this unforgettable day!

A very nice location, but unfortunately the breakfast buffet was very simple and not particularly attractively presented. The staff were not at all on their toes; they only brought back food when it was completely gone; this could have been organized much better. The price/performance ratio was not right. Rolls were bone dry, there wasn't even any bread, and for €22.90, that's borderline expensive. I'd rather get fresh rolls from the bakery; I'm happier with that. We won't be coming back.

The old mill wheel rustles on the Lethe watercourse, surrounded by a natural park where the birds sing.

Bad! I had a schnitzel with fries there for a whopping €24.90. Any kebab shop or snack bar tastes better, and the portions are more reasonable (€12.90). Okay, the location is good and certainly not cheap, but that doesn't justify the price for such quality.

Unfortunately, the visit wasn't as enjoyable as we had hoped. About half of the guests were satisfied with the food, though. All of our steaks weren't good. Thin slices—there's not much medium left after searing. I didn't think the vegetables were good or suited the steak. The asparagus plate looked somewhat unfinished, but it tasted very good. There weren't enough wait staff, so everything took a little longer. The service itself was good, despite the circumstances. We sat in the winter garden, and it quickly became unbearably loud when a second group arrived.

A very nice destination with a large terrace. Coffee and cake or a beer with something savory—it doesn't get any better than this. Parking available.

The watermill is beautifully situated, surrounded by a park, a lovely beer garden, and the Lethe River. I was there for breakfast on Mother's Day, and it was just what you'd expect: great service and a delicious buffet with coffee, tea, and juices. They also offered a glass of sparkling wine per guest... Highly recommended!

If we were there on Mother's Day, to be honest, it was a mass process, hardly anything was refilled at the buffet and when it was, it took a long time, plates were missing in between, long queues at the buffet, poor quality of bread rolls, but a hefty price for that!!! But we still got full ;)

We've been here quite often. This time there were seven of us. The food was really great, but after eating it the potato pancakes had turned too black so we got some ice cream.

Today we were exhibitors at the Winter Wonderland in the Wassermühle. It was a successful event all around.

When the food was good, I gave it a good rating. This time it was rather bad. The fried potatoes and the breading of the schnitzel were dripping with oil. Soft oily fried potatoes were not edible. I mentioned this too and they “accepted” it. An apology and free drinks would have been the least. Too bad. Given the prices, I don't like taking the risk again.

Well-intentioned, but not that great. If the rolls are so hard that you think they are 2 days old... the selection isn't that great either... from 12 o'clock onwards there was a warm buffet, you can't speak of a selection anymore... that's generally the case Really room for improvement ↗️ it's a shame, we've already been there to eat and were really excited...

We were there for brunch today. Unfortunately, the breakfast selection is rather limited. The rolls were bone dry and it took a while to refill the plates. The coffee was good. The warm food was, if I put it nicely, lukewarm. Unfortunately. I was there the last time. The ambience is nice, even in winter.

We were a bit disappointed: for a Christmas brunch costing 38.90 euros per person, the buffet was really poor. One had the impression that only prepackaged packages/cans were torn open and served up. 0-8-15 breakfast! Nothing special and loveless. I don't even want to talk about coffee, the one bean that was shot through the pot died of loneliness... Service was very expandable. Our table of 7 wasn't even cleared of used plates, cups or glasses. That was somehow not something for Christmas and way too expensive!

Went for breakfast this morning, June 22nd. Bright friendly restaurant. Rich buffet, large selection of toppings, cheese, fish, scrambled eggs, dessert, rolls, coffee. Price-performance is completely okay. Highly recommended. We're going there again. Update 12/07/2024 Unfortunately the service was poor and we had to ask for coffee several times until the fresh one came. The small table trash can wasn't available either, even though there was one on top of all the others. There was also the impression that the buffet had become smaller. But we will still go there again at some point if it suits us.

Very nice location and very good service. Good breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, small sausages, tomato mozzarella, pepper strips, cucumber pieces, breakfast cereals, milk, yogurt, onion meat with red onions, selection of sausages and cheeses, smoked salmon with honey mustard sauce, smoked trout fillets, meat salad, boiled eggs. Coffee is available on the tables in warming jugs and can be delivered upon request. Various types of tea and juices are available at the buffet. Unfortunately the rolls are baked rolls (1 star deducted for that). Brown bread, croissants and small pretzel sticks. Various jams and nut nougat cream. Chocolate pudding, fruit salad and yoghurt quark round off the buffet. There are sweets on a separate table for the small and large cats. All in all a good breakfast for €20.90. This buffet is offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. A reservation is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended. Barometer or Schlemmerblock vouchers are accepted. We'd love to come back. Thank you.

On Sunday there was the winter magic of Advent. The small hall is ideal for this. It seemed very warm and homely, especially with the great lighting. The staff working there was very nice and accommodating. Gladly again!

We went to an exhibition on Sunday and we really enjoyed it ❤️. We were here for the first time (we became aware of the location because of the exhibition), the exhibition was very diverse (we thought it was great), I have to say a great atmosphere, the staff was nice, the food was also delicious, we would like to come back 🤗 ❤️.

We were there spontaneously on Sunday. Were alerted to an event through Facebook advertising. Great location, beautiful location. The bazaar was very beautiful. We saw lots of beautiful things and bought Christmas presents. The cake was delicious and we will definitely come back.

We ate with a group of girls at the water mill. Our order was taken very quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. It was very nicely prepared and tasted very good. We'd love to come back.

The winter magic market last weekend was a great event. There was something for everyone. A great change for everyone, great atmosphere!!!!

Unfortunately, there were mostly only promoter stands set up at the Christmas bazaar. They found two self-made Christmas decoration stands. In our opinion, the visit was not worth it and is not recommended. Maybe next time there will be less promoting and more self-made

Beautiful location, rustic, cozy, very nice garden. We went to the theme party “Studio 54” and were really excited about everything. The fact that you "of course" got delicious fries at 1 a.m. put the cherry on top

We wanted to have a delicious brunch here on Sunday. So far so good. We had been assigned a place, everything was very cramped, my mother, who was over 80 years old, had difficulty getting to the place because there was a stumbling step that led to the higher area with the tables. 1 star deducted. The second major drawback was that there were neither enough scrambled eggs nor grain rolls, let alone cold cuts. It's not worth coming here for brunch.

We had breakfast with the family again. As always, everything was great and delicious. Would love to come back.

We went to the 80s party in the Wassermühle for the first time last night, we felt very comfortable, very nice atmosphere and relaxed audience, the service staff was very attentive and very friendly, we would like to come back.

Of course it's most beautiful and best enjoyed in summer, otherwise I recommend the winter garden, just a really beautiful location and the outdoor area is simply recommended

The table we ordered was in a side room where the breakfast buffet had just ended; we sat for a while and no one cared about us. That's why we asked for a "move" to the main building, which we were granted after a short time. Nevertheless, it felt like it took forever before we could at least order drinks and then food; the restaurant was only moderately busy. The food was delicious and now over an hour had passed! No further requests were asked and we had to ask for dessert. During our more than two-hour stay there were no words of apology or request for understanding; Only the young waitresses made a friendly impression.

Very nice environment. Nice staff, although they were rarely there to ask for drinks, were there with a group. The prices are very high compared to what you get. Here is an example of a simple burger. The portions are very small and all 10 visitors with different food said that it was very tasteless. We won't be coming back for dinner anytime soon

Wir waren neben 4 Herren an einem Tisch die zweiten Gäste. Haben Getränke und Speisen bestellt. Nachdem einige Tische nach uns kamen und Ihr Essen vor uns bekamen, haben wir nach 45 Minuten nachgefragt. Die Kollegin, die unsere Bestellung aufgenommen hatte, ist inzwischen nach " Hause geschickt worden ". Es sei aber schon aufgefallen, dass wir wohl Besteck, aber keine Speisen bekommen haben. Ich wurde nach einer Lösung gefragt, soll ich noch etwas bestellen. Nein sagten wir. Jetzt wollen wir nicht mehr. Das kennen wir anders. Es ist kein Problem, dass Fehler passieren, aber die Frage ist, wie man damit umgeht. Ein Hinweis, dass die Kollegin wohl ihrer Arbeit nicht gewachsen war, hilft keinem weiter. Einfach ein Getränk auf Kosten des Hauses, ein Lächeln und gut ist. Also: Ambiente gut in der Wassermühle, Service ist verbessungswürdig.

Extraordinary service that Sandra and her team provided today. I don't want to single out one person, but Collin always had a smile on his face with every guest. 120% service for the entire team today.

I am very disappointed. We wanted to have our dream wedding at the watermill, but instead it turned into a nightmare. For the planning we had to talk to 4 different employees and no one really had a clue. We had our buffet changed in advance, but at the wedding there was a completely different buffet. None of the people we planned everything with were there that day. We had no one to contact and no one took care of us. Things were discussed and ultimately not adhered to or even done differently. I am most disappointed with Mandy (she planned the most with us). The water mill is a pure money rip-off!!!! I advise, for good reason, not to have anyone celebrate their wedding there!!!!!

Very nice place to stay! The garden in particular offers a beautiful ambience for all kinds of events, especially since a separate building can accommodate parties of up to 60 people. A small pond and shady trees complete the whole thing! The service is very friendly and helpful! The only thing you could do is work a little on the food!

We were there for lunch. The ambience is really nice and the service was nice. We decided on “burgers with fries” and were excited to see what awaited us for the hefty price of just under €20 each. The food came quickly, was hot and the taste was okay. BUT: ONE slice of cucumber, ONE slice of tomato, and shredded iceberg lettuce with a few chopped onions and the patty in the middle and that's it. Not even nicely presented, but brought to the plate “quickly” like in a canteen. Plus a (very) small portion of fries in a small frying basket. As I said: taste okay. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether THIS price is justified. Conclusion: the most bland and sparsely topped burger we have ever received in a similar price range. Price-performance is absolutely not consistent. A pity!

Wir waren Ende Juli am späten Nachmittag in der Wassermühle um eine Kleinigkeit zu essen und hatten auch unseren kleinen Hund dabei. Wir durfte uns draußen einen freien Tisch aussuchen. Die Außenanlage ist gepflegt und sehr schön. Für unseren Hund wurde sofort eine saubere Schale mit frischem Wasser gebracht, ohne das wir danach fragen mussten, das fanden wir super nett. Insgesamt war der Service sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir hatten uns die Bruschetta ausgesucht, weil wir nur eine Kleinigkeit essen wollten und anschließend noch ein leckeres Eis genossen. Die Bruschetta wurden uns mit noch warmen frisch gerösteten Brotscheiben, fein gehakten Tomaten und roten Zwiebeln, Rukolasalat und frischem Parmesan serviert. Alles war frisch zubereitet, knackig und hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir haben den Abend sehr genossen und kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

A magical place for special occasions! We celebrated our wedding at the water mill and it was just perfect. The historical backdrop of the Mühlenrad gives the place a unique atmosphere. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. Particularly recommended for vegans/vegetarians! The location right on the Lethe is picturesque, and we enjoyed our meals both in the cozy interior and on the terrace overlooking the water. The watermill has definitely found a place in our hearts!

Was only there for the 1000 Lights party without food. Great atmosphere, good music, great cocktails and nice location👍🏻

I'm really wondering what we paid €27 for for three pieces of cake and a Fanta and a cappuccino and an Alster, I think the photos are very nice, but unfortunately the reality looks different!

Unglaublich schlechter, uninteressierter Service. Essen: (wir waren zu viert) 3x Schnitzel und 1xBurger Burger war tot gebraten, Schnitzel war noch ok. Championrahm schmeckte nach Geschmacksverstärker. Das Schlimmste: Der unglaublich unmotivierte und faule Kellner. Es war wenig los. Es wurde nicht einmal gefragt, ob es uns schmeckt oder wir noch ein Getränk haben wollen. Kritik nahm er zur Kenntnis, mehr nicht. Trinkgeld hat dieser Typ nicht verdient. Frage nach Dessert, etc. kam ebenfalls nicht. Unbequeme Stühle, schlechte Auswahl an Speisen. Hauptsache die Küche hat’s leicht… Fazit: Fürchterlicher Schuppen, aber tolle Lage. Wir werden vor diesen Laden im Bekanntenkreis warnen!

We celebrated our dream wedding here on July 19th, 2024. Great discussions with the managing director Mandy in advance about planning. Get good tips, drawing on the company's experience. The water mill offers a great ambience inside with a nice, cozy atmosphere. In the wonderful weather, our guests also made intensive use of the outdoor area and sat in small groups at the tables and chatted away. The team around Mandy made everything possible and was super nice and always approachable. Thanks everyone, you're great. The food was very, very tasty. We had nothing to complain about. The aniseed made the red cabbage taste too Christmassy for me, but other guests also found it very tasty. So it's more of a matter of taste. But I brought it up and it was immediately taken as a criticism. TOP. We would like to thank Wassermühle Wardenburg and Mandy's team from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to celebrate our dream wedding here. It couldn't have been more perfect. A great location with lots of nature around. The “Tapas” event should be reconsidered. A Spaniard would smile a little at that. Many things are great in terms of price-performance ratio and few things are totally overpriced. It was still a good time there.

We were able to celebrate our civil wedding in a smaller family circle in the warehouse of the Wardenburg water mill. We can say it in a nutshell: we were thrilled! From the first preliminary discussion, to the possibilities of decorating your own hall and using your own cakes and cakes, to the extremely delicious prepared grill buffet including very attentive service, we can recommend Mandy and her dedicated team. The collaboration was always on an equal footing and short-term requests were implemented immediately. The ambience in the beautiful garden also invites you to take photos and children can let off steam in the playground. Thank you very much for the great day!

Food was good 😋, schnitzel with fried potatoes were delicious and, above all, hot! Didn't even slip through the pan. I was surprised at the price, 25 euros for the dish mentioned above is...

We found the food to be too bad. And the chairs in the restaurant weren't very comfortable.

Nice ambience, overwhelmed staff, food quality ok, what was particularly annoying was that the individual components (vegetables, potato products and meat) were not served in sufficient quantities or only with a time delay.

We went to the water mill for breakfast for the second time with a large group. The rating refers exclusively to this. The service does a great job. The chef is also available to answer any questions. So, five stars for that! The ambience is also inviting and offers the potential to continue to enjoy a great day there after breakfast. Like a day of vacation. The only negative point: given the high price for the buffet, I would have expected a little more. The toppings are fresh, there is a selection of cheese, ham, jam, scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, fish. So far so good. But in my opinion there is a bit of a lack of choice. In addition, the rolls are cheap baked goods. I expect more. Either other premium baked goods or fresh bakery rolls. All in all a nice day. Cake is still slightly overpriced for industrial goods. I have the feeling that you are resting on the location. Nevertheless: top service, absolutely beautiful surroundings and pleasantly quiet!

When the weather is nice, there are great seats in the beer garden. Ate and drank a little something, very tasty!

The water mill has a fantastic location, very idyllic. There is actually still a mill wheel turning, which is visible from the terrace. A great atmosphere. Coffee and cake were very tasty, especially the selection of cakes was good. What was noticeable was that the terrace could use a little bit of care, but it's not peak season yet. It will probably be done at short notice.

We can only report positive things throughout. We were able to celebrate our wedding there and the food was excellent, the service was super nice and the backdrop for pictures or just relaxing was outstanding.
