We were there yesterday for a family celebration, and everything was perfect. There was a buffet, everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and the table was beautifully decorated for autumn. The restaurant has modern decor, and all the staff were friendly.

If there were 6 stars, I'd give it here. The climb up the mountain is definitely worth it. Great ambiance, state-of-the-art furnishings to make you feel at home, a cozy atmosphere, and super delicious food! It's a rare find at such a reasonable price. The kids can play outside on an excellent playground. There's also a children's menu that's a little out of the ordinary. We'll be happy to come back here and are already looking forward to our next visit!

My guests and I were thrilled, with everything from the fantastic location (very modern, yet cozy), to the magnificent buffet (nothing was left to be desired, thanks also to the excellent kitchen), and of course, the very friendly and attentive service (you had everything perfectly under control). For me, it was one of the most wonderful celebrations, and I am very grateful for it!! It certainly won't be my last visit, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone. The visit was very nice, but unfortunately, the menu was reduced for World Children's Day. The selection was good but clearly too limited, especially since there were few options for children. I think the experience would have been better with the regular menu.

The restaurant, the food, and the staff are all excellent. I'm deducting one star because it's not wheelchair accessible. Access to the restaurant is a challenge.

Recommended for its ambiance. Unfortunately, the food overshadowed the beautiful ambiance. The service made every effort to ensure a pleasant evening for us as guests. The food was down-to-earth, home-style cooking. Unfortunately, the spare ribs were beyond what you'd expect from spare ribs. Neither roasted nor grilled flavors were noticeable on the palate. The color of the ribs was more reminiscent of cooked ribs. Even the barbecue sauce couldn't mask this. The salad buffet was nonexistent. There was iceberg lettuce, cucumber, lollo bianco, sunflower seeds, and a dressing. In the summer season, you might expect some different salad ingredients. The ox cheeks were good, as you'd expect. The dessert (creme brulee) was unfortunately not that great. The caramel crust should still be slightly warm when it reaches the guest. This wasn't the case, and the caramel crust tasted bitter in places, likely due to excessive heat (burned spots). This isn't meant to be a high-level complaint, but we've experienced similar dishes differently. These are suggestions and advice for the young chef and his team.

The toilets were really pretty, the food great and they even had great free internet. Top experience after a 4 hour road trip

The dining room was very noisy and soundproof. Poor service (low demand, wine wasn't poured, and tap water was advertised as mineral water for €7.90 per liter). This overshadowed the excellent food.

Always a wonderful experience—we've been there several times now when we're in Lower Saxony—creative, delicious food with fresh, good ingredients. Very friendly service and a truly lovely atmosphere. The terrace in the garden is, of course, fantastic.

A tranquil ambiance with a forest feel, and beautifully thought-out decor! Portions are plentiful. Unfortunately, there's no salt or pepper on the table. The adjacent playground is especially great for families; kids won't get bored.

We went to the BBQ evening at Waldschlößchen yesterday! A very successful event, the food was excellent and there was something for everyone! From beef to ribs, pulled pork, and feta cheese, etc.! The meat was cooked to perfection and always freshly prepared, with plenty of side dishes! Kudos to the two chefs 👍, keep up the good work! The price was very good for such a wide selection... The service was also great; that evening, they offered cocktails for €6.90! These were also lovingly made and delicious! Yesterday we celebrated our children's birthday in the “Waldschlösschen” and it was an all-round successful celebration. All wishes were 100% fulfilled. Super nice and attentive service. Food and ambience were top. We felt very comfortable.

This restaurant is truly fantastic. The lovely ambiance invites you to linger. The food is simply delicious. The menu isn't very extensive, making it easier to navigate. All the staff are very friendly. I'd be happy to come back.

Furnishings, comfort, operation and equipment are first class. The outdoor areas are very well maintained, but they are still very new. The only drawback are the prices, which are quite high for Nordhausen. A recommendation for the changing menu; Something vegetarian to choose from on the menu would also be nice. Not always just salad...

A very special atmosphere with an incredibly committed team, who looked after and served us one hundred percent courteously in a no less tastefully designed separate room, despite the closed company and the restaurant was actually fully booked, gave us lots of extras to try and really something special for the palate and the eye has offered! If we are in Nordhausen again, we will definitely eat there again!

The location is very nice and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. Five stars for that. Unfortunately the food wasn't as good as expected. I had a vegetable goulash with mushrooms and rice. The rice was great. The vegetable goulash was very reduced and overcooked. I could only recognize peppers, eggplant and zucchini. More would have been possible. The three mushrooms were fresh and flavorful.

Very tasty food, nice ambience, very nice service, for me the “Waldschlösschen” is one of the best restaurants in the city of Nordhausen and, as far as I know, is the only one where you can enjoy Japanese ramen. As always, it tasted delicious and was a delight for the taste buds and eyes! We have been here several times and have always been well looked after and cared for. I am very happy to give the “5 stars”!

Our visit to the forest castle was absolutely outstanding! The atmosphere is very tasteful and welcoming, as is the staff extremely friendly and attentive. The Food was of excellent quality and far exceeded our expectations exceeded. On this day there was a barbecue buffet with fine dishes and nothing was missing. The two men at the grill prepared everything with a lot of passion. The selection of food and Drinks were great and prices appropriate. We had a relaxing summer evening in a great atmosphere! The atmosphere is extremely harmonious and very cozy. You immediately feel at home here! From the moment we made the reservation, the service was very friendly and always attentive. As a guest you definitely feel valued here! We each had a starter, an intermediate course and a main course. The food was simply world class! Very modern and simply a feast for the taste buds. Unfortunately we didn't have any room in our stomachs for the desserts as the first 3 courses were already enough. The price-performance ratio is perfectly fine. We also had various cocktails, some with homemade rosemary syrup, simply outstanding! This was our first visit here today and we will definitely come back!

Perfect food, atmosphere & a playground!

Very nice restaurant. The entrance is from the back. When you approach it according to the navigation system, you start to have doubts. It doesn't look very inviting. But once you walk around the building you will find the really tastefully decorated restaurant. The staff is super friendly and competent, the cuisine is delicious and creative.

We are often in the WS and have always been very satisfied. That's why we celebrated our wedding there and everything was just great from start to finish 🤩 Since we coordinated in detail in advance, from the decoration (big praise to Blumenhaus Otto) to the small snacks at the beginning, cake (that came from Friwi - also great), to the evening menu on the flying boards, that was everything just awesome. Everything was exactly how we wanted it. This in combination with the great service, the chic ambience and the playground makes the location the number 1 address in NDH for us. On the latter, the grown-ups also became children again - from the bride to the 70-year-old father of the bride, everyone had fun with the cable car 😜 Finally, it should be said that it is definitely worth the money! Large space, modern but cozy interior, large terrace. At least on Thursday evening you don't need a table reservation. Service quick and friendly, clean tables and toilets 73€ bill for 2 VSP, 1 HSP with 2 side dishes, 1 dessert and 2 carafes of wine more than fair. The taste was consistently impressive The signage on the way there could have been a little better. Don't let the run-down parking lot put you off. The forest castle is really beautiful. The photo is of one VSP, tofu on salad, pitted olives and a slice of bread. I took the photo because I couldn't imagine anything from the description on the menu. Unfortunately, I've already had it several times. It looked much better when served

I have always been very satisfied so far. A very good choice whether for a date, a family dinner or for private celebrations. Stylish interiors and a charming outdoor area as well as professional and extremely friendly staff complete the experience.

This is our first time in Nordhausen and we stopped by in the afternoon to enjoy a coffee and a beer and chose a spot in the almost empty garden. When a waitress came, I explained to her that my partner had already ordered in the outdoor dining area. Later another employee came and told us that the outdoor dining area was exclusively for the restaurant. Dear operators, it would be helpful to at least put up an information sign to show your guests where they can sit, especially since everything belongs to one establishment. If the outdoor dining area is almost empty, why not let us enjoy our drinks for a few minutes? In addition, the espresso macchiato was lukewarm and without milk foam.

We found the restaurant completely by chance after spending a short family vacation in the Harz Mountains. We were attracted by the great location in the middle of nature and the modern ambience. And we weren't disappointed! The service was very, very friendly and accommodating and the food was absolutely delicious. The large outdoor area with a great children's playground makes everything totally child-friendly. We'd love to come back.

I've known the Waldschlösschen for a very long time. What a transformation! Great ambience. Top waitress, always quick to serve the guests, rocked the place and it was full. The food was very good, everyone enjoyed it, really hot plates!!! The serving style can be expanded, a small menu, I will come back here seasonally!

Best restaurant in this category in Nordhausen. On several visits I have always had a culinary highlight. The service is great. Even the different catering options are always top class. The chef and the entire team really work extremely hard and the ambience is second to none. It's great that people dare to do something like this here in tranquil Nordhausen. In my opinion the price is justified for such quality. I had the 3 course menu and the best Gin Basel I've ever had anywhere.

We had dinner here on Thursday. Coming from Erfurt. I can only recommend the restaurant to everyone. The pumpkin cream soup was on top! Overall, the food, ambience and service were excellent! We'd love to come back.

The location itself is really a gem. Very nice location, great ambience, stylish furnishings - actually a place to feel good. But only actually. At the time of our visit, the menu was already very minimalistic in terms of the choice of dishes. In addition, parts of it were no longer available - the asparagus season has been over for a long time, which means that if I no longer have the asparagus cream soup on offer, I will cross it out or simply paste it over. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio doesn't really fit either. The average guest understands a gold broiler as something different than the handful of chicken that is offered on the plate. Things become very critical when the same dishes are served in significantly different quantities. The prices are simply too high for that. Of course, today more than ever, good products have their price, but please do so with the appropriate framework for it. The service staff was friendly and accommodating - but they could have made a lot more sales of drinks if they had appeared more often among the few guests. In summary: there is still room for improvement here - especially since a completely different expectation is raised when entering the restaurant.

Sehr schickes Restaurant der gehobenen Gastronomie

Wir haben vor kurzem unsere Hochzeit im Waldschlösschen gefeiert und sind überglücklich das wir uns so entschieden haben. Vom ersten Vorgespräch an waren uns Team und Location ans Herz gewachsen. Das Essen war hervorragend und auch unsere Sonderfälle (Veganer und Vegetarier) sind begeistert gewesen. Kleiner Tipp von uns: lasst dem Koch freie Hand, er weiß was er tut, ist sehr kreativ und es sieht hervorragend aus! Der Service war freundlich und entspannt, alle Gäste waren immer gut versorgt. Zur Location: Nehmt sie so wunderschön wie sie ist, es braucht keinen großen Schnick Schnack um hier eine tolle Atmosphäre zu haben. Auf diesem Weg auch nochmal vielen Dank an das ganze Team. Ihr wart das Sahnehäubchen für unseren perfekten Tag.

ICH kann von ganzem Herzen dieses Restaurant empfehlen . Es ist auf jeden Fall ein Besuch wert.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise und suchten nach einem schattigen Spielplatz für unsere Kinder. Obwohl wir außerhalb der Öffnungszeiten kamen servierte uns der Betreiber Kaffee und den Kindern ein leckeres Softeis.
