Waldschlösschen in Ottobrunn

Small and charming, reservations required. Very clean and quiet, easy to have a conversation. The pizza dough was fantastic, the toppings very fresh and delicious. My beef fillet strips unfortunately tasted fishy. I hope it was a mistake that they cooked the meat in the same pan where the fish had been cooked. Nevertheless, I will come again.

The restaurant was really cozy and very small (I personally don't like huge restaurants). Especially for an Italian restaurant, it makes a good impression, and expectations are higher that the service and the food will be outstanding. (Not to mention the already higher prices.) We had truffle pasta and truffle pizza. The portion of pasta was too small for me (see picture). And apart from the few truffle slices, it just tasted like pasta with buttercream. The truffle pizza was unfortunately only okay, but neither dish was anything special. They didn't seem to put much effort into the flavor of either; we've been to much better restaurants. The service wasn't the typical "warm Italian" service either; after the meal, we had the feeling they were just waiting for us to leave. We weren't paid at the table; instead, we had to pay at the counter. Overall, we were a bit disappointed and probably won't be back.

As nice as the place is and as good as the food may taste, I've rarely experienced such unfriendly staff (it was probably even the owner himself). If you're thinking of going there, steer clear of that dump. A place like that doesn't deserve any support.

The best place to eat in Ottobrunn. Two set menus are offered daily in addition to the regular menu and the blackboard. Individual components of the two-course set menu can also be selected. The staff, especially the owner Stefano, is very attentive. Today I chose part of set menu number 2: sea bream with vegetables and Prosecco sauce. For the starter, I had scallops. Both were a delightful treat. I will gladly return.

The food is okay, but nothing more. We've been coming here about 2-3 times a year for the past 5 years and each time we notice that everything has gotten more expensive.
