A super friendly team. The rooms are very clean and well-maintained. The food is consistently excellent. The breakfast service is impressive and very good. The overall impression of the Hotel Alte Ziegelei in Haldensleben is one of family-run hospitality. Highly recommended.

A very nice inn. I can't comment on the rooms or the hotel operations, as we only stayed at the inn. We enjoyed it very much. The decor is cozy, and there are antlers hanging on the walls. The staff is friendly and very attentive to the guests' well-being. The menu is varied and offers something for everyone. The food, we had the Strammer Max and pork tenderloin, was delicious. This year we opted for the Grog Grillplatte (a large grilled platter). And it was the right choice! Very tasty, varied, and plentiful.

We've been enjoying family celebrations here for years, and our guests love coming back. Delicious food and friendly service!

A nicely decorated restaurant with a lovely conservatory. The food is delicious: here you'll find the "good old" German cuisine, just the way it's loved. The staff is exceptionally attentive, friendly, and efficient. The starters (cream of wild mushroom soup and venison bouillabaisse) were very well seasoned and flavorful. The main courses (kale with duck leg and venison roulade with mushroom and savoy cabbage) were also excellent in terms of taste and attractively presented. I would have liked a bit more sauce, and a little more vegetables would have been nice too. Overall, a highly recommended restaurant; we will definitely be back!

We ate dinner out tonight. Making the reservation through Google was easy. My wife had a pork loin steak and I had a rump steak. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The prices were reasonable for the quality.

We were cycling and had booked an overnight stay at the Waldhotel. Unfortunately, something went wrong with the reservation, and the hotel was closed that day. The junior manager was super friendly and still provided us with two very nice single rooms for one night. Thank you so much for that; something like that isn't a given these days.

Very delicious food!!!!! Nice service. It's busy at lunchtime, even during the week. This review of mine is 5 years old. Unfortunately, I have to correct it. A week ago, we went there for lunch on Sunday. Two tables were occupied. The rest were free. When asked if we had a reservation, we had to say no. We were then told everything was reserved. Bad luck for us. Today we tried again: Friday lunchtime. It couldn't be that crowded. Or so we thought. It wasn't, because it was closed. According to the posted opening hours, it should have been open. The website also indicated this. This Friday wasn't listed among the additional closing days on the website. What's the point of having a website if it's not up to date?! We won't attempt to visit the restaurant again for the time being. There are actually more reliable ones.

The rooms are pleasantly reminiscent of the 90s: solid, cozy, with that very special flair that inevitably makes you think, "Oh, that's how it used to be – and it was a good thing!" Everything is clean, functional, and lovingly maintained. The food? Great! The cuisine impresses with its quality and taste – down-to-earth, fresh, and simply perfect. The service was consistently friendly, attentive, and pleasantly unobtrusive – you feel welcome, not rushed. The location is pleasantly central, yet quiet enough for a restful night. And if, like me, you often find yourself cursing around the block trying to find a parking space, you'll be reconciled here: parking right by the hotel, uncomplicated, and free. In conclusion: A hotel with heart, history, and humor. Not a soulless standard, but a place that knows exactly who it is – and that is really likeable.

Three stars, unfortunately no more. We were here with family and booked 5 rooms. Starting with check-in, where the service staff tried to be original but just seemed unprofessional. I don't want to be greeted with casual remarks. The rooms and the rest of the interior have 90s charm. A refresher seems in order here. The service is, with one exception (a younger employee), inflexible, unprofessional and brash. Reserved tables remain unoccupied and upon request of their own occupation and a longer discussion, an immediate check-out was offered. Service staff don't look at you and you don't always feel welcome. The location is very beautiful and suitable for excursions.

Update as of May 28, 2023 The host is currently attempting to restrict our freedom of expression. Reason: defamation! We call it the truth! Google is trying to silence us. This has happened before! Quote from our (now) deleted entry: "Unfortunately, full of anticipation, we wanted to take a break from our bike ride in the beer garden today. The bike racks were right next to the main road, out of sight. So we parked on the side, unobstructed, at the terrace entrance. As we were about to sit down at a table in the back area—the crossing at the side entrance to the playground—we saw at least five more bikes parked behind the hedge. As we were about to ride our two bikes there, a brisk employee came over and pointed us to the bike parking space. We showed him the other bikes, which we also wanted to go to. He very clearly forbade us from doing this! We now had the attention of the entire terrace... and we immediately moved on! We don't need hosts like that! Perhaps we should think about how to treat guests and how to find alternative parking. I don't want to philosophize about the value of today's bikes here... Bye!"

Is a restaurant really a restaurant if it feels more like a fast food joint? That's the question I asked myself after my lunch on Sunday. I ordered the Altmark wedding soup, venison roulade with dumplings and savoy cabbage, apple strudel and a coffee, expecting a delicious culinary journey - but what I experienced was anything but that. Let’s talk about the highlights first. The soup was the star of the meal. It had a strong flavor and a comforting warmth that made me curious about what was to come. The service staff was particularly attentive and ensured that my wishes were met immediately. You could even say that they were the real winners of the day. But when the main course arrived just 12 minutes after I ordered, a red flag went up. Was the food really freshly prepared or just something that had been sitting on a shelf waiting to be reheated? The ambience, or lack thereof, was another aspect of my experience that surprised me. Despite the flickering candle on the table, the place looked more like an assembly line than a cozy restaurant. The restaurant seemed more concerned with processing customers than creating a memorable dining experience. This left me wondering about the concept of the restaurant. Did you want to offer authentic cuisine but completely missed the mark? The venison roulade didn't quite live up to the expectations that the soup had raised. It seemed like a rushed offering that lacked the depth and richness that a proper meal deserves. And not to mention the apple strudel - as soon as I ordered I heard the familiar sound of a microwave, and as it should, the dessert was soggy and uninspired. It's hard to reconcile this with the prices and I wonder who really benefits here: the customers or the restaurant's profits? A restaurant that prioritizes speed over quality leaves a lot to be desired. I've visited countless restaurants on my travels and unfortunately this is one of the worst. In the end, I walked away from the soup with a satisfied stomach, but the overall experience was greatly marred. I would rate the service a solid 5 out of 5 and the soup a 4 out of 5. The main course only deserves 2 out of 5 points, while the dessert only gets a 1 out of 5 points. This brings my overall rating to 3 out of 5 - a reminder that fast does not mean good and not all dining experiences are created equal.

We were greeted very friendly and served personally by the owner. We will definitely come back again.

We were eating in the restaurant as a family of 9 people. The tastes and preferences are very different and everyone was satisfied. In the winter garden it was pleasant and bright despite the cloudy weather. There are enough parking spaces, most of them are not well signposted and are “hidden” behind the restaurant.

We stayed at the Alte Ziegelei as overnight guests for one night and with breakfast the next day! The staff was very nice, the breakfast was lovingly prepared. We had a holiday apartment which was really spacious, although it was also getting old. In some places it urgently needs to be repaired, in others it was tidy and looked relatively new. In particular, the extension cables that are lying around could be hidden somewhat if necessary. Children always find something like this wonderful to play with. What we were wondering, if it really is a vacation rental... where are the kitchen utensils? On the whole you can stay in this hotel/holiday apartment, but a few things should be improved for the price.

We only went to the restaurant, the food was good, the staff was very friendly, the parking lot was rather small and the street noise was loud when you sat outside.

We wanted to come as a family group. However, we weren't really welcome there. First we were rudely informed by a gentleman that we were not allowed to sit outside. When we wanted to go in, we were also greeted unfriendly. The woman also complained that we “just” sat outside.

Since I paid €85 for this "comfort" room and can't sleep, I'm now writing this review. A superior 3 star hotel? Maybe abroad, if at all. It starts with a completely moldy shower and ends with the sauna/whirlpool constantly humming. This room is right above the sauna area and it's really uncomfortable. In addition, the hotel is located on a main road which is also very busy at night. Luckily it's only one night, if I had a longer stay I would definitely cancel it

Wir waren gestern zu Abend in der Alten Ziegelei. Das Essen war vorzüglich und der Service ließ ebenfalls keine Wünsche offen. Wir werden immer wieder kommen und uns geschmacklich verwöhnen lassen.

Wie sie die drei Sterne bekommen haben, bleibt unklar. Die Zimmer sind primitiv und abgenutzt. Verkehrsgünstige Lage heisst direkt an der Durchgangsstraße. Im Treppenhaus funktioniert kaum noch eine Lampe, das Aussengelände ist stockfinster. Das Restaurant hat gefühlt immer geschlossen.

Ich hatte eine sehr schlechte Zeit in diesem Hotel. Das Internet ist ein Witz – ich hatte ein Modem im Zimmer, aber die Bandbreite war Null. Nicht genug Toilettenpapier. viele tote Fliegen auf dem Boden. Die Bettwäsche ist eine Katastrophe, sie atmet überhaupt nicht, nachts schwitzt man am Körper oder man friert. Das Licht im Badezimmer funktioniert nicht. Ich habe nachts gearbeitet, um 9 Uhr morgens hat jemand vor dem Fenster den Rasen gemäht. Ich habe die Sauna bezahlt, sie sollte 2 Stunden laufen, nach einer halben Stunde wurden das Licht und der Ofen ausgeschaltet. Ich habe die Unordnung auf dem Boden gemeldet, es wurde nichts dagegen unternommen, aber es war kein Problem, dreimal an einem Tag (einschließlich einmal schriftlich) um eine Nachzahlung der Rechnung zu bitten, weil diese falsch erstellt wurde. für dieses Geld?
