In summer we sit outside in the beer garden, in winter inside – we always enjoy eating here. Good food, decent portions.

We've been to Vesna's several times. The atmosphere is always welcoming! The food is excellent: Whether you order burgers, the enormous schnitzels, cevapcici, spare ribs, or just a salad, everything is fresh and delicious! Plus, the wait times are reasonable. The portions are especially generous – and they're happy to pack up leftovers to take away. Everyone leaves satisfied – and at reasonable prices! Inside, it's a typical restaurant with table service. In the summer, there's a large, self-service beer garden. You order, grab your drinks, and get a pager that beeps when your food is ready. That's exactly how a beer garden should be! It's wonderful that such honest and down-to-earth restaurants still exist!

The 4th annual pre-Christmas Advent market at Waldheim Backnang was once again a true bright spot in the dark season. Cozy, atmospheric, and lovingly decorated – exactly what you need for the Advent season. Mulled wine, punch, delicious food, and a warm ambiance that instantly wins you over. For us, Waldheim remains a place where you simply feel at home: friendly, authentic, and with a kitchen that is always reliably delicious. We don't just like to drop by, we also love to go in.

Appetizer for 2 people (for 1 person): fatty cheese, 2 slices of baguette €11.90 2x mixed grill platters, 1x 2 meat skewers to take away. We also ordered a light Hefeweizen, which turned out to be a wheat beer. 2 small coffees and a small water. €83.90 The food cost less than €17 x 3. Even our daughter wasn't full after eating the skewers with fries. Technical errors: the liver was cut 3mm thick and felt like rubber soles. For €83.90... We won't be ordering from them again. In addition, the car looked like we'd been off-roading due to the puddles and dirt. I have a tip for the chef: beef liver should be at least 2cm thick unless you want to chew rubber. So, we won't be coming back.

It was great. We had a class reunion. And everything was perfect, from the friendly service to the food.

A beautifully located restaurant with a beer garden. Since we sat outside, it was self-service, but that wasn't a problem.

The beer garden's location is fantastic! Right next door is a parking lot, from which you can access a fantastic ball track in the forest and a wildlife enclosure. The beer garden itself is completely shaded and has a small playground, so it's great with kids. For dinner, we had spaetzle with sauce, schnitzel and fries, potato dumplings, and salad. All of them were ready-made frozen products, which were unfortunately very bland. Except for the fries, it was a real disappointment. The prices are outrageous in comparison! You have to pay extra for ketchup/mayo with every dish. You only get a high chair with a deposit. It's self-service, and you have to clean up afterward, sorting your dishes and leftovers yourself. Unfortunately, this will only be a one-time visit for us, which is a real shame.

We were here on a Sunday, and the food was freshly cooked. Everything tasted delicious. Today, in August 2024, on a Saturday, the food was also delicious, but the portions have become smaller and the prices are quite high for a beer garden. But the quality is okay.

The food was good, but it took a long time due to the crowd. That probably depends on the time. Only 2 stars for the service, as it's completely self-service and the dishes are returned promptly. The staff, however, were very friendly and accommodating! The prices are reasonable for the quality and really great for a club. Highly recommended for a lovely afternoon stop and a relaxing break. The location is a bit out of the way in the "forest," as the name suggests.

We ate at Vesna's Waldheim in Backnang today. Although it wasn't particularly busy, we had to wait a full 1.5 hours for our food. Unfortunately, when it finally arrived, it was already cold – truly disappointing. Even more disappointing, however, was that our polite response didn't even result in an apology. It was a very disappointing experience for us, and one we wouldn't want to repeat again.

The portions are a bit small, but it's delicious. Very nice beer garden with a playground, well-maintained boules courts, and a large chess set.

It's a great place to bring kids because there's a playground right next door. The restaurant's prices are quite high, considering you sit on beer benches and everything is self-service, and you have to clear away the table.

A really great beer garden, a great place to spend time. The food was so-so, the sweet potato fries were great but probably a conventional product but okay, that cevapcici in flatbread was a no-go, the cevapcici were so dry and the bread was rubbery and floury, the bread could have been grilled more. The drinks are a bit expensive, but I think other food options are better, I will definitely try other things. Update: Unfortunately, it remains the same, the food is below average, which I find very unfortunate because the beer garden is in a great location.

Always nice here but the food has gone down a bit. Currywurst would be better if you got it from the butcher and froze it, for example.

This was our first time at this beer garden. My expectations for beer garden food aren't very high, so I was all the more surprised by the cevapcici flatbread. Truly delicious: fluffy, crispy flatbread, juicy cevapcici, top-notch aivar, salad, and cucumber. It's definitely on par with a very good kebab, in my opinion. I'll have the same thing next time. The fries were also very good! What I didn't like so much were the smoking employees at the counter. It's not a nice sight.

Delicious, fresh, great atmosphere!

The food was delicious! (Burgers, schnitzel, veggie burgers), self-service, and we were able to celebrate outside with a large group! There was no intrusive music, it was very pleasant, and we had a great time in the perfect weather—a wonderful day!

Beautifully located, fair prices, very friendly, courteous service, and consistently high quality! I enjoy stopping by; even in workout clothes after a run in the woods, I don't get any strange looks! Replenishing lost minerals in the cozy beer garden is simply perfect!

The atmosphere in the beer garden was very nice, but you have to get your own food and put the plates away yourself. Sometimes you have to wait in line for a long time for food or a drink (depending on how busy it is) because there is only one person at the checkout and everything outside is self-service. Overall it was okay for a beer but the food was too expensive and tasted bland and boring, sorry!

We really enjoy coming here because the location in the forest is super idyllic. You can walk, hike, cycle and then stop off in the beer garden in summer with good draft beer and classic Balkan beer garden dishes. The children can play in the playground. Unfortunately, from time to time you are a bit overwhelmed by the masses of visitors here, so you sometimes have to wait a long time.

I came across this restaurant by chance through Mapps. Since I really enjoy Balkan food, I went out to eat with a friend today. My friend ate a Waldhaus schnitzel. My humble self received a Balkan plate. Since we are seasoned men, we would have liked slightly larger portions. Next time the wish is expressed for something bigger... Even if it would be a little more expensive. But we really enjoyed the taste, so we will come back.

Das Waldheimschnitzel scharf war bisher immer unser Favorit. Aber die Portionen werden immer kleiner für den sehr hohen Preis und es waren bisher 2 überbackene Schnitzel mit Salatgarnitur. It's always worth coming here. In summer there is a beer garden and in winter there is an Advent market. The ambience is simply great.

Very unkempt and neglected, a shame.

There was no visit. I tried to reserve a table several times (4-6 times) between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. for several days. I let the bell ring for about 1 minute each time. Obviously no contact desired!? They are unprofessional and/or don't need it. The one star is compassion.

Very friendly, unfortunately understaffed, which is why the menu cannot be fully implemented. Nice playground, good parking, great vending machine for dogs on site, drinking bowls for the dog. I would like to give more stars and hope for more scope for more staff.

THE BIERGARTEN!!! They are wonderful to be able to visit them when the good weather arrives, to be able to take a walk through the forest and end up in one of these spaces is priceless…. In Backnang, every time I have been here I have had the opportunity to visit this place, and now that I know that summer is ending, I decided to visit it for the last time since the weather is back this week, and why not take advantage of it by eating here... . Its menu is varied with dishes of German origin and some others of Balkan origin, I imagine because its owners are from there…. The last two times I visited I got hooked on the schnitzel with cheese and jalapenos, it seems like a very good amount and I love the combination ❤️, the place, as I have already mentioned, is very good and so is the atmosphere... so don't hesitate to visit it... The only small criticism, but without harm, is that sauces such as mayo and ketchup are paid as an extra, and if you order a portion of fries, the truth is that with one of each you will fall short…. And it wouldn't hurt if they didn't have to pay separately... it's just a small criticism but I respect the venue's decision... Let's hope to see each other next summer ❤️. Thank you!!

It's always a highlight to be there and enjoy the pizza schnitzel. The service is also wonderful and I'm always happy when I'm told that today we're going to Vesna and her team in Backnang :-)

The forest cemetery is a walk away. The catering is currently good, there is adequate food and drinks at a suitable price. Self-service is available and waiting times are pleasantly short, even at peak times. The facility is only partially handicapped accessible and the seating is very simple and does not invite seniors to sit for long periods of time. ————————— A popular beer garden on the edge of the forest in the local recreation area for decades. The beer garden is really very nice. But the operators are overwhelmed on this sunny Saturday, as they have so often been. Unfortunately, stocking up on the food will probably not work again. A third of the offerings on the menu have already been pasted over. At the checkout you find out that the other dishes are no longer available. A bad-tempered cashier completes the situation. You shouldn't necessarily come here to eat.

It's a shame that there haven't been any 🍔 for weeks - but it's always worth spending a few hours in Waldheim

Located on the edge of the forest, with old trees, you can sit in the shade and enjoy your food. As is often the case in Waldheimen, self-service is the order of the day. But it works great. Service is friendly and helpful. The prices are within normal limits. The classic is the schnitzel, which ends up on the plate with good breading and satisfies even the most hungry. The burgers are a particularly tasty plus point😍. I would be happy to come by again 😊

Nice place that deserves better. Self-service with sometimes unbelievable waiting times (only 1 place for orders) - simply poorly organized. Forced to pay in cash for every drink, as card payments are only accepted for orders over 10 euros (we probably still live in the 90s here). The prices are already years ahead, the food is average at best, but attention is paid to the slim line of the guests and the portions. What a shame!!

Bad surprise on Sunday lunch: the side dish for the schnitzel, mixed salad, was missing potato salad. So asked the woman at the bar if the side dishes were now without potato salad? Answer: “a mistake was made in the kitchen, potato salad is always there, it was forgotten”. That's it. No apology, nothing. The portions are getting smaller and smaller anyway and with the prices “forgetting” some of the side dishes is not a good thing.

I've been there about once a month for several years now. The beer garden is a Rubeoasis in itself. Yes, you slow down, but that's exactly what I like. Sitting under the canopy of leaves on rustic benches, listening to the murmur of voices, bustling around and laughing... A great stay with friends. In winter, inside at tables like those found in traditional taverns. Over time I got to know and appreciate the team. And their Waldheimschnitzel is always a hit at our friends gathering!

Unfortunately this time we had a portion of fries that was too small and the Cavapcici were a bit too light. It still tasted good.

Saturday night. Long queue. 40 minute wait for mediocre food. Overpriced food and drinks and then self-service. That's what the band was good for.

Live music in the beer garden with 300 visitors due to a shortage of skilled workers. With just one cash register for drinks and food orders, the pressure on the bar and kitchen is reduced. The only reason the queue that forms in front of the checkout doesn't get any longer is because after hours of queuing, a drinks machine on the beaten path relieves the completely overworked staff at the checkout, bar and kitchen. The decision to eat a little later at the drinks machine was no longer necessary after 3 hours. The only reason the queue at the checkout has decreased is because the kitchen has now closed. The four-legged beer garden visitors are better off with the new automatic feeder from an innovative company. They don't have to go home hungry, they are already provided with food from the automatic machine in the beer garden. How long will it be before the two-legged beer garden visitors are supplied with the ready meal from an innovative company from the automatic feeder with an integrated microwave, but are no longer sent home hungry after visiting the beer garden.

Too few staff at events. It was not possible to order anything to eat or drink in a reasonable amount of time during the two hour stay.

Friends the sausage salad, which was unfortunately a bit small. Not great in terms of taste, but okay for the price. The kids can move around freely, there is a small playground. Cozy beer garden, lots of seating, quietly located under beech trees. Play equipment is available for the little guests to keep them entertained. Not handicapped accessible, which is difficult to do in the beer garden. The food was very tasty, freshly prepared, well seasoned. A large selection of drinks and also ice cream when it gets hot. A nice restaurant on the edge of the Plattenwald of Backnang with a nice interior ambience and a nice large beer garden in summer. Suitable for regular tables and e.g. Birthday events. Everyone is welcome there and treated equally.
