Great stop after a lovely walk.

We rode there; there's a small paddock. We were given water for the ponies, and we ate a cheese platter ourselves. The staff were very friendly!

Nice beer garden, very good food...

The beer garden and the old little house are nice, and beautifully situated in the countryside. The service was good, but the food was very meager: reheated, dry sauerbraten (sauerbraten) that didn't taste good either, plenty of sauce, but no sauerbraten gravy, mushy potato dumplings, and the sausage salad was hard to beat in terms of boredom. I don't understand the 4.6 rating. I'm not a habitual complainer, but we were very disappointed with the food here.

A quaint day-trip restaurant with lovely outdoor seating. The service was prompt, the sausages were very spicy, and the cake that followed was delicious. The only drawback: no cell reception 😉

The Frauenhäusl is idyllic, but that's all. The service was unfriendly, and the Leberkäse tasted of fat that had probably just been heated in a deep fryer, and the fried egg wasn't cooked properly. I wouldn't recommend it.

A true gem. Idyllically situated in the forest, yet easily accessible on foot, by bike, horse (there's a small paddock), or car. The service is excellent and leaves nothing to be desired. The food is home-style, all homemade. Whether it's a snack or a hot meal, you can also stop by for afternoon coffee and enjoy delicious cakes and tarts.

Cycled through the forest on a hot day to take a short break here. Beer garden with a cozy atmosphere (I can't comment on the interior), service very friendly and fast. The drinks and food menus were posted on the facade. Most of the food is cold, typical of a typical German snack, but I think that's perfectly fine in a beer garden. There were two hot dishes when we were there: Leberkäs (liver sausage) with potato salad and a fried egg (served with a sachet of medium-hot mustard and a sachet of sweet mustard! I wouldn't have thought I'd even have a choice) and Kassler (pork sausage) with sauerkraut. Otherwise, a really large selection for small to medium appetites. Also 3 or 4 different types of muffins and 3 or 4 types of cakes or tarts. Organic bottled lemonades and I think 5 different spritzers. In short, more than enough choice for us! Our Spezi cost just €4, considering it was 0.5 liters and not the usual 0.4 liters these days, a really fair price! Of course, they also had some wines and beers, but we can't judge that since we don't drink either. We had barely ordered our food when it arrived – in what felt like no time at all. The attached restroom building is new and has pleasantly large stalls, which was a very pleasant surprise, as I wasn't expecting that from the term "Waldschänke." The women's restroom includes a changing area in the vestibule, and—as a "frostbitten person," I have to mention this—there was also hot water! I usually get cold hands immediately because there's usually only cold water for washing my hands. So, another big plus for me. If we ever vacation in the area again, we'll definitely come back!

Super nice location, good cake.

It was very nice, with attentive service and delicious, simple food. Some guests even enjoyed live music this afternoon. A selection of vegan options for those with food intolerances would have been welcome.

A gorgeous beer garden. Equally gorgeous cakes. I can't comment on the hot dishes, but they looked delicious. No card payments.

We were there on a Friday, and there was no hot food. Only salads and rolls. There's nothing healthy that could be considered a proper lunch. The place is remote. But traveling far and not eating is a disappointment.

A highly recommended excursion restaurant, with very good Bavarian cuisine and also very tasty tarts and cakes. Staff very friendly and accommodating. It's worth going there not only if you're hiking in the area, but just to eat and sit. What is particularly positive is that there is no mobile phone reception possible there. This relaxes the atmosphere and also helps children who are addicted to the Internet to discover life without a cell phone, and even more so for adults.

Cozy, authentic, original restaurant. Definitely worth a try... And don't get lost on your way there. A great location, even for groups. I just love being there. THANK YOU

A nice beer garden and the food was also very good. We combined the visit to the Fauenhäusl with a visit to Kehlheim. We will come again when we get close.

Nice beer garden, easy to reach, whether by bike, car, motorbike or on foot. Condition is fast and nice. Unfortunately our farmer's sausages took a little longer and the coleslaw wasn't seasoned, but there was salt and pepper on the table. The cakes looked delicious, but we didn't try them. But you can highly recommend it, you are welcome to come by by bike.

We haven't eaten so badly in a long time. Roast pork was cooked to death. €17.50 for a meal in the beer garden is not possible. In a restaurant with a nice atmosphere that would be ok.

Still quaint! And not so crowded either. Small menu, a real original in the middle of the forest.

There is a beautiful hiking trail from Kelheim to Frauenhäusel. You should book in advance on Sundays and public holidays. The food is very good and plentiful. The outside area needs to be spruced up a bit. The sauerbraten was good, just too much sauce. Definitely worth a hike.

We were totally pampered from start to finish, great restaurant and great staff and innkeepers, duck and whole were gigantic, highly recommended 👍 like my grandma used to do, highly recommended, no matter what time of year, it's just great, nothing more is possible 🤗👍🙋‍♂️

Guter Schweinebraten mit Kloß und Salat. konnten vom Wetter her noch draußen sitzen. Vielleicht vorher Platz reservieren

Etwas abseits gelegenes Ausflugsrestaurant mit kleinem Einzugsbereich. Das ortstypische Essen ist von mittlerer Qualität und war immer frisch zubereitet. Meist hat man die Auswahl zwischen etwa drei Gerichten, sowie wenigen Brotzeiten und Kuchen. Keine durchgehend warme Küche. An besucherstarken Tagen kann es vorkommen, dass selbst bei reservieren Plätzen kein Essen angeboten werden kann, da alles ausverkauft ist oder zu viele Bestellungen offen sind (Dann heißt es: "Wir haben Küchenstopp"). Der Service ist gut und fleißig, aber bei hoher Auslastung sehr schnell an seinen Grenzen. Die Parkplatz-Situation ist ungünstig (bei Regen schlammig und etwas unstrukturiert). Das Ambiente im Aussenbereich ist ausbaufähig. Innen aber authentisch schön. Tipp an den Wirt: ggf. sollten die Plätze im Biergarten auf ein Maaß reduziert werden, das jeweils bewältigt werden kann.

Wir machten einen Ausflug mit unseren Rollern,hatten vorher reserviert das war auch gut so. Sehr schöner uriger Biergarten wie früher . Grosses Lob an die Köchin Andrea das Essen ein Gedicht. Die selbstgemachten Kuchen sind genauso ein Traum . Alles in allem besser geht's nicht und die spitzen Bedienungen darf man natürlich auch nicht vergessen Wir werden wieder kommen zur Kontrolle😂😂😂 LG

Ich war hier paar Mal zum Musik spielen. Ich komme sehr gerne her. Bedienung freundlich, essen ist der Wahnsinn und die Location absolut top :) Achtung, es gibt hier 0,0 Empfang, somit sehr vorteilhaft wenn man Mal wirklich nicht erreicht werden will und seine Ruhe haben will :)

Urige Gaststätte schön am Waldrand gelegen und sehr nette, freundliche Bedienung. Komme gerne mal wieder vorbei.

Wir waren mit dem Motorrad dort. Biergarten ist sehr schön und das Essen gut. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich. Ich habe einen Schweinebraten mit Kartoffelknödel gegessen. Der Preis war angemessen. Er war gut, jedoch etwas fasrig. Die Kartoffelknödel und die Sauce waren hervorragend! Alles in allem hat es mir gefallen und ich werde auch wiederkommen! Einziger Wermutstropfen… es gibt keinen Mobilfunk Empfang.

Sehenswerte Waldwirtschaft. Kleine Karte mit sehr guter Sulz, Schweins- Sauerbraten, Schäufele. Feiner Kuchen und sehr große Stücke. Sehr freundliche und schlagfertige Bedienung

Uriges Gasthaus mit herrlichem Biergarten, prima gelegen am Waldrand mit schattigen Bäumen und gemütlichen Bänken. Sehr ruhig, die Autos von der Straße sind kaum zu hören. Der Biergarten eignet sich wunderbar als Zwischenstopp für eine Radltour oder Waldwanderung. Wer den Weg durch den Wald probiert sollte sich die Wanderwege vorab gut einprägen. Wir hatten oftmals keine Handyverbindung und sind beim Rückweg mehrmals falsch gegangen : ) Es gibt typische warme und kalte Schmankerl und Brotzeiten und vor allem die selbst gemachten Torten und Kuchen sind spitze. Generell gutes Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis und große Portionen.

Super Lokal mit spitzen Ambiente und sehr leckerem Essen, schön zum Wandern und spazieren gehen rund um das Lokal.

Urgemütliche Stubn und schöner Biergarten. Der Schweinebraten ist absolute Spitze - vielen Dank dafür ! Verbinden einen Besuch immer gerne mit einem ausgiebigen Spaziergang zum Lokal. Die Kuchen und Torten immer ein Highlight.

Sehr leckere Auswahl an Speisen, sehr aufmerksamen und freundliche Bedienung. Schöne Location
