The food was good and the service attentive. What wasn't so good was that seven people were crammed into a corner table. The table would have been fine for four. We also sat right next to the heater, which, although the thermostat was off, was unfortunately still very warm. There's something different about cozy and comfortable seating. Since the place is always packed with retirees, I recommend the outdoor area in the summer. Inside is simply not possible.

A very unfriendly welcome. We wanted to grab something to eat at 7:45 p.m. on a Sunday evening. Instead of greeting us, the waitress told us in a brusque tone that the kitchen was only open until 8 p.m. No "hello," no "good evening"—that's how you feel as a guest, not at all. We left and chose another restaurant where at least we received a friendly welcome.

We visited the restaurant for the first time today and were thrilled. We were looking online for somewhere to eat nearby after the holiday park and found what we were looking for here. Luckily, we had made a reservation. The food was absolutely fantastic. The salad buffet was absolutely adequate. The schnitzels (all four of us had one) were excellent in both quality and quantity, especially considering the price. The whole experience was rounded off by the really friendly and polite service staff. We felt completely at home and will definitely plan a trip to the holiday park in the future.

I write a lot of reviews/reviews because I travel quite a bit and often decide spontaneously where to stop. Some reviews aren't so good, others are, but they're all about one thing: always honest! Yesterday, I was out with my boyfriend. We had a lot to do but still wanted to do a little something. We got in the car and drove off without a plan – as we often do. Around 5 p.m., our stomachs started to rumble, and a quick look around the area led us to this unassuming forest restaurant. When we arrived, we noticed it was quite busy. However, there is plenty of parking. A small path leads to the restaurant's entrance, past a large meadow and large, shady trees. I was worried we wouldn't get a seat, as there was a large party there (about 50 people), and it's usually the case that you get turned away from the restaurant. Far from it! We entered the beautifully landscaped outdoor area/beer garden, received a warm welcome, and were able to choose a seat, even though it was already quite busy outside. There we were – surrounded by greenery, with large parasols set up everywhere, a gentle breeze, the wonderful smell of food everywhere, the other guests smiling, and everything felt right. The service was very quick and attentive; our drinks arrived at our table in under five minutes, and the not-too-large and manageable menu made it easy for us to order. All the staff on the service team were incredibly friendly, helpful, and attentive, which we found outstanding – simply fabulous. They explained to us where to find the salad bar, which was beautifully presented, wished us bon appétit, and let us know if we needed anything – we're there. Simply great. The salads were fresh, delicious, and the selection was ample. It didn't take long for our order to arrive – 2x onion schnitzels. Just the sight of it made our mouths water, and the smell added to the excitement. What can I say? The meal took me back to my childhood, and it's rare for someone to achieve that. Many thanks to the entire kitchen staff; it tasted amazing! We were actually full, but I think you know what it's like when food tickles your palate so deliciously. Our plates were cleared. We each ordered an espresso and a wine spritzer—the restaurant was getting more and more guests. There were about 60 people sitting outside, based on our observation. Not to mention the 50 inside. We became curious and asked a member of the service staff how many people were managing the kitchen today? Three! That's crazy! Only three people, and they handle all the dishes for over 100 guests. EVERYTHING arrives quickly, freshly prepared, and beautifully presented, so that all guests at one table can start enjoying their meal at the same time—wow! The service team was equally hardworking and outstanding, managing everything with just three people—that's an achievement, you can truly pat yourselves on the back! Conclusion: You can enjoy very good, home-style food and drinks here, and at very fair prices. The entire staff is extremely friendly and helpful, which suggests to us that they work very well together. The atmosphere is cozy and beautifully located. Even people with disabilities have no difficulty moving around here and can easily access the restrooms. Last but not least, the restrooms are really clean, which is a very important point for me personally. We will be happy to visit this restaurant again and will also recommend it to others, even when we're from KL, because it hasn't been this worthwhile in a long time! The service, friendliness, and quality of the food are truly top-notch. Hats off to the value for money. 👌👍. But you should find somewhere else for the ashtrays outside in the back corner. If the wind is blowing unfavorably, you can smell the cigarettes while you eat, which isn't exactly pleasant. Otherwise, a top-notch restaurant. I'd say the best in the region. Highly recommended. We were there for dinner today, and the lady who served us seemed very annoyed and unfriendly. The food was great, but unfortunately, the food alone isn't enough if the service isn't up to scratch. It's a shame we won't be coming back.

A grilled rump steak cooked in a pan was drowning in fat with leftover breading from the previous diners' schnitzel. The fruit garnish was not fresh and dried out, and the carrot salad had a fishy aftertaste. The dining room is full of cobwebs and doesn't give a clean impression.

The waitress completely ignored us. We were four adults with four children. The children wanted to eat ice cream. We waited at least 30 minutes hoping that someone would come to us and at least give us tickets. For the service (3-4 waiters) we were transparent. Hello, We went on a bike tour with a larger group of bikes and wanted to go to the forest restaurant as our destination. We then looked online to see if it was open at all and found no evidence to the contrary. Unfortunately we arrived and found out that it was closed today! And no further indication whether just today or even longer! That was really fine last time, but the service also has room for improvement.

We were here today for the first time, but definitely not the last! The food was very tasty, the salad buffet had a great selection of fresh salads, the Swiss schnitzel and the Zurich steak pan were very well seasoned and the portions were absolutely sufficient. Unfortunately, there aren't many restaurants left that manage to offer great food and great service at these prices, everything fits here.

The food was good, but not outstanding. The service, on the other hand, was top, starting with the friendly welcome, through the soup on the house, to the short waiting time. The salad buffet was a welcome change. Unfortunately, the non-alcoholic wheat was too warm, which made it taste a bit stale. Card payments were only possible with EC cards, although more and more banks only issue these for an additional charge and debit payments via cell phone or watch are increasingly preferred, and not only by the younger generation.

I think the concept that you can put together your own salad plate is good, but the dressing only tastes like water and yoghurt mixed together, not seasoned, just like mushroom sauce for the schnitzel, everyone at the table had to add seasoning (no matter what sauce). The mushrooms are also canned and not fresh, which I personally think is a shame. Portions are good, not too big or too small - Service was ok, attentive and satisfied. You can visit if you spontaneously want to combine a walk in the forest with food, but for us there is no reason to go there specifically.

Nachdem ich einmal zufällig dort war, bin ich jetzt extra hingefahren 45 km von Kaiserslautern. Essen super und reichlich, Service schnell und freundlich, Preise erstaunlich, schöne Lage im Haßlocher Naherholungsgebiet und Vogelpark, Rennbahn und Holiday Park in unmittelbarer Nähe. Wie ein gelungener Urlaubstag.
