Walden in Frankfurt am Main

The club was so dead, you got kicked out at 2 a.m. The songs were repeated. They offer VIP tickets and don't even have a VIP area. I was so ripped off. Worst club in a long time. There are better ones. Absolute waste of time. Save money and don't spend it. Drinks are also really expensive. Not recommended.

At Walden, the overall package is perfect. The kitchen impresses with fresh and creatively presented dishes that are a delight both in taste and appearance. I particularly enjoyed the vegetable wrap, the aromatic roasted potatoes, and the freshly prepared sauces. The salad was also excellent: crisp, varied, and very attractively presented. In addition to the quality of the food, I was particularly impressed by the service. The entire staff is attentive, friendly, and courteous without being intrusive. You feel welcome and well looked after, whether it's recommendations, special requests, or simply a smile at the table. The combination of high-quality food, professional service, and a pleasant atmosphere makes Walden a place I wholeheartedly recommend.

The Berlin breakfast and coffee were excellent. Pleasant atmosphere, very friendly and fast service. Top-notch. H.D. Thoreau would probably have loved it, too.

I ordered pancakes with Nutella and only got a small 15g packet of Nutella. That's ridiculously little for three large pancakes. You only taste batter and almost no Nutella at all. Instead, there was a ton of fruit on the side, but when I order pancakes with Nutella, I expect there to be plenty of Nutella and not just a mini packet. Very disappointing and definitely not what you'd expect.

The breakfast was perfect there.

Very good food, we really enjoyed it, but one star less because no children's dishes were offered. And no effort was made by the kitchen to make a small dish for our 6-year-old son. We recommend it for adults, but very little for children.

I used to love this place since many years and would often stop by for a weekend breakfast. Sadly I have to say goodbye to it now due to the changes in the menu. All bacon and pork ham options that the clients were used to and loved have been replaced with turkey or sucuk. What a disappointment. Didn’t know what to order any more, so just left

Pleasant atmosphere, good service and pretty ok food.

A fantastic spot with a super chill, alternative vibe. We love coming to Walden for a relaxed coffee meeting or just to start our day. It's a huge plus that they serve coffee from Wacker's, a true Frankfurt institution. The cappuccino was rich with perfect foam, and the latte macchiato was smooth and delicious. If you track caffeine with the Mindful Coffee app, select "single shot" for the small cappuchino, and "double shot" for the large cappuchino!

Why? Because I ordered a passion fruit spritzer and got a diluted passion fruit juice.

We had a nice, shady spot. The starter and main course were very, very tasty. The service was impeccable, friendly, and even nicer than nice to us! Thank you for the wonderful time with you. I'd love to come back.

Catastrophic decline after change of management!! Forever my favorite cafe in the city center, but now unfortunately no longer recommended! The quality of the breakfast was abysmal and lacking in love! The menu was reduced, but mostly the same. However, the prices have been raised! The cheap pre-baked rolls were inedible, and the "Wolfgang" scrambled eggs were cold, unseasoned, and poorly presented. I no longer recommend it; it's a real shame about the beautiful location!

The dishes were very good and filling. I had to take some of mine home. Well worth it.

Operation correct but forgetful

The waiter was friendly but not professional. Showed us 2 places from afar. Before we could take off our jackets we were asked what we wanted to drink. He always came again after a short time. We asked for the red house wine which he didn't know. There is only one type on the menu. Then he came back after a few minutes and said that there was no red wine left. Saturday evening and no red wine at all, that's really not possible. We took the white wine, but I have to say that it was very good. We ordered the country chicken skewer which was very much on the borderline between cooked and raw. Could have stayed in the pan for 3 minutes longer, as could the meatballs. The waiter doesn't know anything about how to serve or clear away. Normally we don't attach any importance to this, but here the waiter was very unprofessional from reception to clearing away. Live music was good but there was hardly any atmosphere as the restaurant was almost empty. A very disappointing Saturday evening.

I was back in Walden after a long time. I don't know exactly whether the owner or just the concept has changed, but the food now has a more oriental touch than before. The food is still very good, the service was super friendly and the atmosphere remains chilled. The chicken skewer was just as recommended as the pan with shredded chicken. A clear recommendation for me.

Unfortunately the service today left a lot to be desired. The service was extremely slow. The taste of the coffee was also not convincing at all. It tasted watery. Overall a disappointing visit.

After my friends and I had been regular enthusiastic guests of the Walden restaurant for many years, we were bitterly disappointed during our visit yesterday - the prices have risen enormously and the quality has deteriorated extremely. The shepherd's salad served with walnuts and sheep's cheese costs 18 euros and you get small chopped salad with a few chopped walnuts, lots of onions and a thin layer of grated sheep's cheese over the salad. There was no bread - an imposition. The Kaiserschmarren was not outstanding but okay, but the portion was very manageable and at almost 10 euros it was simply too expensive. This was our last visit to this restaurant!!

Had a nice evening, with live music, not too loud. Gladly again, but more staff would be better.

After my visit to this club yesterday (night from February 28th, 2025 to March 1st), I had an extremely unpleasant and upsetting experience. A strange man slapped me on the bottom and I threw a toy wand lightly in his direction. I was then grabbed by the arm and dragged out of the crowd, it turned out that it was the owner who had noticed (he wasn't hit). He wanted me to leave the club and didn't want to listen to my explanation and then called me a liar. I and other people who had also seen all this were not listened to or believed. I cannot recommend this club.

Nice staff, fast service, the food came quickly. Very tasty and freshly prepared. A good choice for me to eat well in the center. Not the first time and definitely not the last time...

I wanted to give the store another chance and went there for breakfast today and lo and behold after eating, not a good time. There is definitely something wrong with the hygiene in the kitchen. In general it has deteriorated a lot, new card, but significantly worse quality. That was my last visit there!

I was in this restaurant a few days ago and it was really great! The food was super tasty, everything was freshly prepared and really tasteful. The service was also great – the waiters were super friendly and really looked after us. I can only recommend this restaurant and definitely give it five stars!

We had reserved a table for four people for breakfast on Boxing Day (December 26, 2024). When we went there that day, Walden was closed. There was a simple note on the door that just said that on December 26th. remains closed - no explanation, no apology to guests with reservations. I then called and left a message on voicemail asking for feedback. That was a week ago and so far there has been no response. A very disappointing service experience and our interest in visiting the Walden or the Oosten again is almost zero. By the way, we only had the reservation on December 24th. by phone and explicitly asked whether the Walden would be on Thursday/December 26th. will be open, just as it was maintained by the restaurant in Google. This was clearly answered in the affirmative, the reservation was entered and my mobile number was also noted. We would have had to be contacted if we hadn't shown up, because the Walden provides the following information on its website: “If you don't announce your absence on the day of the reservation, we have to charge €20.00 per guest who doesn't show up. We ask for your understanding!" So there are double standards here.

Very disappointing. The omelette for almost nine euros was an outrage. Service was nice, but completely overwhelmed and slow. There was no coffee because of technical problems. The location is still nice, but the Walden is no longer what it used to be. In my opinion, the high prices are not justified.

The Walden Meze is simply top. If you want to experience Turkish cuisine and an unforgettable evening, you should stop by here - from the live music show to the friendly service, everything was world class.

Went there today for the first time in a long time and were totally disappointed, the food/breakfast used to be much better there, the selection wasn't what it used to be. That's why there wasn't much going on; previously you wouldn't have been able to get a seat there on a Sunday before Christmas. Please urgently change the concept

Gastronomy in Frankfurt is moody and unpredictable. I don't know what it is. But we were really lucky. The food was delicious and lovingly prepared. Leg of lamb tender and juicy served with red wine jus with mashed potatoes and salad. My colleagues were also very enthusiastic about the schnitzel with sweet potato fries, chicken burger with avocado, and tarte flambée with salmon. The udon noodles with pumpkin are delicious! The wines are great! I'm really looking forward to next time. Thank you very much for a very wonderful evening :)

Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely breakfast, they have sausages, eggs, bacon, toast, bread. Scramble eggs were perfect, benedict also. Brunch and lunch available too. A bit for everyone.

Looks pretty good in the picture, but: I had breakfast there for the first time today. The rolls were probably days old and over-baked. Pancakes for 11 euros, 3 pieces, rock hard on the edge, sticky and dry in the middle. They were never freshly baked, more likely they were days old and warmed up. There was also a small bowl of “fruit salad”. This also tasted terrible. The 3-egg omelette for a whopping 9 euros was far dry. I really don't know how big a mess you can make. The coffee was ok, came without milk, I wasn't asked for it. Basically the service staff was friendly. A table at the counter is always reserved for the boss who hangs out here. The two ladies on duty were constantly upset with colleagues and the boss, loudly, you could hear everything. Threats of termination included. The toilet smelled disgusting, really disgusting like sewage and shit. All I can say is bon appetit.

Overall environment is convenient for a meal break in the center. Extremely friendly service, very pleasant surroundings, atmosphere, outside seating, toilet area clean and nicely designed.

You sit comfortably, the service is great, only 11 euros for a vodka tonic that contained little vodka somehow borders on outrageous...

Nothing to complain about. My vegan food was absolutely perfect. We were there on a Saturday evening around 9, it was really quiet, which was surprising when the restaurant opposite was full. At least for us, the food and drinks tasted really good!

Lunch was tasty, good quantity and absolutely value for money. The lemonades are not too sweet. The penne with sheep's cheese and chili wasn't too spicy. There could have been a little more cheese. My companion a tarte flambée California. Delicious.

The Walden is just a stone's throw from the Goethe House. You can park there in a parking garage. The service is friendly and attentive. We treated ourselves to a delicious cake. The prices are acceptable. If I'm nearby, I'll be a guest there again.
