Very good food, good location...highly recommended...reservation is recommended...

The name sounds a bit old-fashioned, but the restaurant is very good. The service is always friendly, and the food is consistently excellent (so it doesn't depend on the current mood). Reservations are absolutely essential. We go there quite often these days.

We were passing through on Whitsun Sunday. The restaurant was actually fully booked, but the staff managed to free up a table. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. We highly recommend this restaurant.

I've always been there with a larger group. The staff handled it amazingly well. All the drinks and dishes arrived at the same time, and all piping hot. We sat outside each time, which was very pleasant. However, a glimpse inside seemed rather dark, even in summer. We also noticed that portion sizes can vary depending on the day you come.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Beautifully presented plates and good, rustic food. The cooking here is truly done with love. The prices have also remained reasonable over the years. I would definitely recommend it.

A very modern restaurant with ample parking behind it. There's also a lovely summer terrace and seating under the trees. The service is very warm and friendly. The German cuisine is excellent, both in terms of taste and appearance.

We were there for lunch on a Monday, and it was quite busy. The menu came very quickly, but ordering took a little longer, and the food took even longer to arrive. But that was the only minor annoyance. The asparagus dishes and the brawn were large and extremely tasty. We would definitely go back. I highly recommend this restaurant; you can also enjoy the wonderful outdoor seating.

Tucked away near the sports field, this restaurant stands out. It has a very modern interior, and the staff is friendly and personable. The menu has something for everyone, and the food is very good. We visited with our family and were delighted. We would be happy to return.

Went to the Volkshaus in Gommern for the first time and were very satisfied. The map is great and there is something for everyone. The prices are also completely ok. I had the veal liver and goat cheese as a starter. The liver was perfect and the mashed potatoes were also absolutely delicious. So we were completely satisfied and will definitely come back.

Everything was great and would be happy again :)

Klasse und aufmerksame Bedienung. Erstklassiges Essen. Wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Das Essen war bei allen auf dem Punkt, tolle ausgiebige Portion (niemand musste hungern und nach bestellen), Preis-Leistungsverhältnis genau richtig. Wir werden wiederkommen!

Nice staff, like the atmosphere, unfortunately the food wasn't really good. The duck breast was dry and very tasteless, the dollop of sauce couldn't save it. The liver OK, but not really good. But the highlight was a glass of tap water for 4.20 euros. So not again for me.

The restaurant was very well booked, but a bit noisy, the food and service was very good.

Chic ambience meets excellent cuisine. This is how the Volkshaus restaurant can be described briefly and concisely. My tip for Gommern. Other plus points: Parking available, card payment possible, very friendly service, stylish and clean toilets. Less nice: dogs are allowed into the restaurant. Luckily it was quiet when we visited. No wild yapping. We had a nice evening with friends. Reservation makes sense.

Undeniably a great restaurant. A bit off the main road, at a local football pitch. Great food, home-style fare. We were passing through and stopped spontaneously. Lucky for places. Any time.

This is how the inn works in a modern way... Small menu, every meal we ordered was very tasty. The employees would be very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The guest room is tastefully decorated.

I came to this restaurant more by chance and was initially a bit surprised by the old GDR name. But that was quickly forgotten because their offer was commendable. The food itself is of really great quality, the service is quick and friendly. If I'm in this area again, I'll only eat at the Volkshaus, where the offerings and quality go together perfectly. There is always a lively atmosphere in the Volkshaus and it never gets boring. The friendly and attentive staff make you feel immediately welcome. I celebrated my 50th birthday here on Friday with 40 people. Everything fits here. The atmosphere is inviting, the cooking is excellent, and the service is very satisfactory. On our last evening we had a delicious meal here. Our children had delicious homemade potato pancakes with apple sauce and chicken nuggets with homemade oven fries. My wife had goat cheese with tomatoes as a starter and the grilled vegetable skewer with baked potatoes as a main course. I myself had an excellent solyanka as a starter, which was not made with “leftover sausages” in the typical way but with lots of fresh meat. So for the main course I had the steak with seasoned meat and homemade oven fries. Very tasty, generously seasoned meat and a very tasty side salad. To finish, we each had a homemade crème brûlée and, as you would expect, with a nice, crispy burnt sugar crust. We can only recommend everyone to eat here. P.S.: Pre-booking a table is recommended.

Unfortunately it is no longer an insider tip. We like to go here. Next to the sports field, one could have expected something simpler here. Not even close. Ambitious cuisine and very tastefully decorated. Service courteous and nice.

Price and performance are right here. Service was perfectly fine despite the terrace being full...I can't say much about the ambience, we sat on the terrace in the best weather. We all enjoyed it...The plates were empty but a small dessert still fit in. For the main course I had the Kaiserfleisch, which was just right given the temperatures. The only drawback was that I couldn't cut the crispy crust with the knives I had. We'd love to come back

Update: January 28, 2024 There is always something new to discover on the menu alongside the tried and tested. This means you can also try something different in addition to your favorite dishes. The quality is right. You're happy to pay a euro more. Always delicious! Regardless of whether it's the classic "Steak Spiced Meat" or the selected other dishes with meat and fish - you always eat very well in the Volkshaus! The dishes are rounded off with tasty side dishes and seasonal vegetables. Vegetarian dishes can also be found on the menu. Very fantastic cuisine, I was surprised that I got a table for 5 people on a Sunday.

We were there with 11 people. Although the house was very busy, the food came to the table quickly and hot for everyone at the same time. The portions are plentiful and very tasty. We were all satisfied. The price-performance ratio is completely ok. Gladly again.
