Villa Italia in Bad Langensalza

Following the signs on the street and in the maps, we stood with rumbling stomachs in front of the locked door. They'd moved somewhere due to fire damage. We didn't look any further.

The atmosphere is dark and noisy. Unfortunately, this made it almost impossible to take a closer look at the food. We inspected it with a flashlight, which unfortunately revealed the disaster. The food was old, spoiled, or raw. Old, dried-out bread with olives, poor-quality olives, no fresh tomatoes, bruschetta bread also old, the schnitzel undercooked and raw, and the fish cold. The next day, I had stomach upset after this meal. The schnitzel was returned and a new one came. But these are all just convenience foods. Healthy and truly home-cooked food is rare. The kitchen is simply abysmal, and the food is far too expensive. It's not even remotely worth the money for this inferior quality. Bills must be checked! Otherwise, they charge you twice or three times. Card payments are accepted for amounts over €20, but if the waiter wants to process a cash payment, they enter the wrong amount into the machine, and if you notice, they demand payment in cash because the machine is no longer working. Sure. Unfortunately, this particular waiter has absolutely no resilience. He constantly takes his frustration out on the customers. Admittedly, there are some nice staff, but that unfortunately can't make up for the overall poor quality. This was my last visit to this restaurant. In the future, I'd rather spend this money on truly high-quality food.

The food was okay, but the service wasn't particularly friendly, and card payments were apparently not accepted (we've been there before, and it was possible), even though it was signposted. Unfortunately, we weren't informed until after our meal, so one of us had to go to the old town to withdraw cash 👎🏻 It was the last time for us.

The restaurant is always clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. For me, it is without a doubt the best restaurant in the area, and I would gladly return. I highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates excellent food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere.

I always enjoy going to Villa Italia. The food is simply delicious and of top quality, and at really fair prices! The staff is also always super friendly and attentive. Very attentive service staff. I had a pizza that tasted truly delicious. My request for "a little garlic and maybe a little spice" was executed very well... The outdoor area was large and beautifully situated.

We were a group of eight people and received the wrong food several times. The waiter didn't take down any orders, and as a result, many things arrived incorrectly. This was also due to the fact that there wasn't a single vegetarian pizza available and we had to customize a lot. But in cases like this, the waiter needs to put aside his pride and take note of our requests. In the end, three-eighths of the dishes arrived incorrectly, and even after correcting the order, the original order still didn't arrive. The food itself was okay, but nothing earth-shattering. Not recommended for vegetarians or vegans, as the menu is very meat-heavy.

Nice restaurant, the food was good, there is a big terrace, I just didn't feel that comfortable, first I wasn't greeted, then I had to get my own salt, then I had to ask for ground pepper, etc. no thank you, no please, no attention, maybe a person isn't worth the waiter's time, outside on the terrace pepper was being ground, salt was brought to me which was then taken away from me, well, it wasn't an experience for me, at least not a positive one.

I know Villa Italia from a stay two years ago. At that time I thought the restaurant was very good, which is why I came back. During our current visit we sat in the winter garden in the draft, and upon request the main entrance door was closed for a short time, but only for a short time. My request if we could sit upstairs was ignored. The food my wife ordered was okay, I had spaghetti, aglio, olio e peperechino Ordered which was half in oil sponge and had no trace of spiciness. What's worth mentioning, there were two glasses of Prosecco as compensation. Unfortunately, when we looked at the bill, we realized that there were things on it that we hadn't ordered. It was supposed to be a nice evening, which in my opinion it wasn't

The pizza we ate there was good and the service was very good. The dishes could be a little cleaner. The packaging of the biscuits that are served with tea should not have any coffee stains, so that it is clear that this biscuit has already been served with coffee but was returned.

We ate outside at this Italian restaurant today and absolutely loved it. The food was not only a real eye-catcher, but also tasted excellent. The prices are fair and the service was really charming: three attentive and cheerful waiters served us and created a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. The starter with bread and olives was okay, although it would perhaps be nice if an alternative to the olives were offered for children - for example various spreads, that would have been to our liking. But that's really complaining at a high level. Overall, it was a very successful lunch with fantastic weather in a beautiful park. We'd love to come back!

Nice location, but the food wasn't convincing During my stay in Bad Langensalza for several weeks, I visited the Villa Italia restaurant on Valentine's Day, which is idyllically located in one of the cavalier houses of the Friederikenschlösschen. The place is nicely decorated and the service was friendly. Unfortunately, the food didn't convince us at all. There was no clear information about the menu in advance and no vegetarian alternatives were offered. The service couldn't help us with this either (due to simple language problems). The tagliatelle that was served was a tiny handful – the ends were tough, no longer al dente in the middle. The pork medallions with mixed mushrooms were extremely small, and the veal liver on arugula was actually just that: veal liver on arugula, with no other side dishes. Salt, pepper, vinegar and oil were not offered at the table, nor were parmesan or other hard cheese. The bread with the soup consisted of two tiny slices of white bread. Considering the price, the overall quality was clearly in need of improvement. Unfortunately not a culinary experience that I can recommend.

I arrived around 7:30pm and asked for a table for one. Everything downstairs was full, but I was offered a seat upstairs. It was very cold at the top, which was explained by "we didn't expect it to be so crowded". I accepted that, sat down and got the card. After about 5 minutes the waiter took my order: an onion soup as a starter, tortellini as a main course and a draft hefeweizen. The beer arrived after 3 minutes, freshly tapped and cold, which was a positive. After 6 minutes the waiter brought the starter - but it was a fish soup, not the onion soup we ordered. Before I could say anything, the waiter had already disappeared again. The next time I saw him was when he came up the stairs with my main course. When he asked why I hadn't eaten the soup, I explained that it wasn't the onion soup he ordered. His answer: "But you ordered number 20, which is a fish soup for us." However, I clearly ordered onion soup, didn't give any numbers, which is what I told him. Nevertheless, the fish soup remained on my table, untouched until the end. The tortellini were okay, the sauce was a bit bland, but edible with salt. There was no inquiry as to whether everything was OK. After another 30 minutes without any contact while sitting alone upstairs, I went to the counter to pay. The fish soup was still on the bill. When I pointed out that I hadn't ordered this one, I was told again: "You ordered number 20." I was now so annoyed and felt uncomfortable that I didn't argue any further and instead paid - 28.50 euros, without a tip. When I mentioned that I was going to write a review, all I got was “Then go for it.” Conclusion: I cannot recommend this restaurant. Maybe the waiter was having a bad day, or my German wasn't clear enough, but I've rarely experienced such bad service. I definitely won't go there again. I hope this review reaches the right people and that others don't make the same mistakes I did by being left alone in the cold attic where they are then virtually ignored.

A very cozy little authentic restaurant. We had high expectations because we heard a lot of good things. The food was totally okay, but not particularly outstanding either. The pizza was very oily. Price-performance fits. The service is friendly and attentive, the location is truly a dream. Unfortunately, the floor in the dining room was quite dirty (leftovers from the lunch table were scattered across the floor).

Die nachfolgende Bewertung stellt lediglich meinen Eindruck dar, jeder möge sich seine eigene Meinung bilden! Wir waren mit 12 Personen dort zu essen um ca. 18:00 Uhr. Das Ambiente ist ganz schön und der Service war, trotz der Tatsache das es voll war, sehr flott. Ich hatte eine Pizza Hawaii zum Preis v. 11,50 € und 2 kl. Radeberger Alkoholfrei (0,3) zum Preis v. Je 3,50 €. Die Pizza groß und war reichlich belegt aber leider auch sehr dünn und der Boden war, obwohl durchgebacken, auch nicht besonders schmackhaft. Die Rechnung enthielt nachher einen Posten welchen ich weder bestellt noch verzehrt hatte, meinen Einwand das ich dies nicht bezahlen wolle wurde mir gesagt „Ich habe ja alle gefragt also muss der Rest von Ihnen bezahlt werden“ dies habe ich aber abgelehnt und ein Anderer aus der Gruppe hat dann den Posten übernommen, ob Derjenige der tatsächliche Besteller war oder nicht kann ich nicht sagen. Auf einen weiteren Besuch dieses Lokals werde ich verzichten!

We have been to this restaurant several times and it is always nice. Today I was there with my autistic brother and they were very considerate and super nice. They even brought him a bib and cut the pizza smaller just for him. They even cleared the table especially for us. The food and the ambience are simply fantastic! Overall, a great restaurant and a great and lovely team! Thanks for that :)

You sit in a very cozy atmosphere, as the restaurant is located in a beautifully planted park next to a small castle. The food and service are very good. The waiters are very friendly, funny and try hard without seeming intrusive. The price-performance ratio is above average. We can only recommend Villa Italia and will be happy to come back on our next visit.

The following rating simply represents my impression, everyone should form their own opinion! There were 12 of us eating there at around 6:00 p.m. The ambience is quite nice and the service was very quick, despite the fact that it was full. I had a Hawaiian pizza for the price of... 11.50 € and 2 kl. Radeberger non-alcoholic (0.3) at the price of €3.50 each. The pizza was large and had plenty of toppings, but unfortunately it was also very thin and the base, although well baked, wasn't particularly tasty. The bill later contained an item that I had neither ordered nor eaten. My objection that I didn't want to pay for this was told to me, "I asked everyone, so you have to pay for the rest," but I rejected this and someone else from the Group then took over the post, I can't say whether the person was the actual orderer or not. I will not visit this restaurant again!

We were excited to eat at this Italian restaurant this evening because of the good reviews. Unfortunately the evening was a disaster. We had made a reservation at 8 p.m., when we sat at the table at 8:01 p.m. we were told to order quickly because the kitchen was closing. When we ordered we were told that the food we wanted was not available. Ok then we quickly looked for a new dish. The starter quickly arrived, unfortunately not good, bruscette with too few tomatoes and dry bread and a starter platter with dried out ham. The starter wasn't cleared yet then the main course came, overcooked pasta, salmon with the wrong side dish, unfortunately totally disappointing. When asked if everything was ok, we answered no, but unfortunately no one was interested. I'm a service provider myself but I've never experienced anything like this. 115€ for nothing, thank you 😩

It's a nice, cozy restaurant with Italian flair and humor. The service is very fast, friendly and nice. The food is freshly prepared and served hot ♨. Everything tastes very tasty 😋. And of course the dessert is absolute cream. I can only recommend this restaurant.

If I'm sitting in the winter garden and a waiter keeps coming out and the door slams loudly, then it gets annoying after the second time. The winter garden itself has seen better days, the glass panes at the top are full of unsightly green algae, the furniture is partly worn out. For the price and the demands I can expect more, the eye is satisfied. And if the ambience isn't right...so what!! Waiters were very helpful, friendly but also overwhelmed. We were completely overwhelmed with gluten-free food. Hollandaise sauce for the asparagus came from the tetra pack and was not gluten-free. You can make it fresh in the Thermomix in just over 8 minutes if you want and can. The menu includes steak with pasta! In what universe do you serve beef steak with pasta? As is usual with Italians, the menu consists of 200 dishes. What is something like that? But the steak with hollandaise sauce and asparagus wasn't really tasty, the asparagus was delicious, hollandaise sauce wasn't gluten-free, beef steak in the "Italian chef style"! The only bright spot was the wine, full points for that. The rest needs to be worked on. When I offer dishes that require cooking, I expect the same quality as with pizza and pasta dishes where cooking is not really important. Therefore only 3 stars for the “cooking” and ambience! For the money around €300, we/I have eaten much better food, quieter food, with experienced service and a well-kept atmosphere!

Unfortunately it wasn't really clean. Dirty dishes and toothpicks were still on the table. The tablecloth was dirty. Was eliminated when we sat down. The cake selection at 3:15 p.m. was very small.
