I had the pleasure of visiting Vesuvio in Lemgo and it was a wonderful experience! The restaurant offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed dinner. The food was absolutely delicious - from the crispy wood-fired pizza to the fresh, seasonal dishes on the daily menu. Schönes Restaurant, leckeres Essen. Wir hatten Bruschetta, Spaghetti Frutti di Mare und einen Salat. Sehr lecker und der Service war ebenfalls prima. Wir kommen wieder.

Friendly service, cozy atmosphere, excellent food. In any case, take the daily menu/board into account - here you will sometimes find dishes that will take your breath away. Especially in autumn, pumpkin gnocchi with chanterelles are offered here - absolutely amazing.

Food was very tasty...the ambience wasn't my thing but if you like it it's OK. Tables are very close to each other so that the table next to you can clearly follow your conversations and vice versa. The price is already in the upper range 😕 Overall recommended

Was recently in Vesuvio and have to say, the pizza was really delicious! The dough was nice and crispy and the ingredients were really fresh – really a very, very good pizza. The service was also really good. The staff were super attentive and friendly, and the food came to the table really quickly. We hardly had to wait, that was really great. Can only recommend the Vesuvio. Great pizza, nice service – just great!

Reservierung im Vorfeld hat für 4 Personen funktioniert. Netter Tisch, aufmerksamer und kompetenter Service. Ein freundlicher Kellner, der sich bei einer üppigen Speisekarte alles inkl. Sonderwünsche merken und auch liefern kann, dem gehört mein besonderer Respekt. Ein hatten Vorspeisen, Pasta, Fleischgerichte mit Gemüse ... alles ohne Beanstandungen, mehr noch, richtig lecker. Wir kommen aus einer verwöhnten Großstadt und würden mit Schwiegereltern jederzeit wiederkommen. Der Laden hat einfach überzeugt.

Top food, top service, top ambience.

We ordered pasta dishes to pick up because we don't live nearby. The noodles weren't worth the money and we had gastrointestinal problems the next day. The atmosphere is great, the people are very friendly, but they can't take pasta away from home.

Tortellini: My husband is sitting on the toilet with stomach cramps Bolognese: far dry, crumbly, tasted like cheese Pasta Pomodori: Fart dry, no taste, everything soggy The absolute worst pasta I've eaten in the last 20 years. Unfortunately we ordered takeout. We had to eat on the way. We would have preferred to turn around and complain. The people and the atmosphere are great. The chef can't cook. We're still shaking. It was just disgusting

We went to Vesuvio three times at the weekend. The first, last and only time with just one visit. Based on the reviews and other recommendations, expectations were quite high, but were in no way met. Some of the dishes were good, others were rather satisfying because they were served lukewarm and had a dry consistency. We know this much better in our favorite Italian restaurant in Detmold. The service was a disaster. Instead of one starter for two people to share, two were delivered. A reorder of drinks was not brought, but also not charged, and another reorder was not even possible because no one showed up. Overall, the waiter skillfully ignored us and instead set tables that were no longer needed. The table to our right was similarly poorly served, the table to the left was much more attentive. We skipped dessert because we didn't feel well overall. You probably have to be a regular here to be welcomed. The ambience itself is very nice, but the positioning of the tables means there is no privacy at all. The background music is penetrating, loud and unworthy of an Italian restaurant. Last but not least, we noticed unpleasantly that the waiter, who had previously ignored us, pointed out that we could pay his tip by card. We're usually happy to do this, but only in cash and we even left one here.

The Vesuvio in Lemgo is always worth a visit - regardless of whether you are meeting there with friends, family or business partners or whether you are taking treats home with you. The pizza from the traditional oven is certainly one of the highlights. You should also try the recommendations, which change approximately every month. The Canetti family has known how to be great hosts in Lemgo for several generations!

Staff is so friendly, service is fantastic. My go to place for the best pizza. I will miss this place when I go home to Australia. It makes me want to move to Germany so I can eat this everyday. A+++💛

Uncomplicated table reservation, even on Sunday it was still possible to reserve something at a suitable time, very nice and friendly service, menu and number of dishes was very good. Price/performance ratio is right here.

This restaurant will be remembered! We actually stopped by at lunchtime purely by chance (we were here 3 weeks ago). Great atmosphere, everything is very lovingly furnished and decorated. The entire staff on duty was terrific and totally accommodating. The food was phenomenal! Very tasty, generous portions and the prices are unbeatable!! Our 1 year old was a welcome guest :-) That made us parents very happy!!!

The food is very good. The ambience in the winter garden was good, as was the service. If it is very busy, service may take some time. But that's normal. We haven't eaten in the other rooms yet. Overall, this restaurant is the best in Lemgo.

A very great restaurant. The staff is very nice and accommodating, dogs are also welcome there. The food is simply delicious, I can only recommend anyone who is in Lemgo to eat there if they can get a seat. It would be better to call in advance to pre-book seats. Restaurant update: After handing it over to the children, I have to say that I no longer like the restaurant. The quality of the food has remained the same but compared to before it is no longer the same. Standing in front of the restaurant at 5:20 p.m. with about 20 other guests, but the restaurant opens promptly at 5:30 p.m. even if it was raining heavily outside, that wouldn't have happened with the parents back then.

Haben Pizza zum selber abholen bestellt. 30 Min war für Samstag Abend echt super. Die Pizza Amedeo war mit Ruccola. Geschmacklich super, leider ist der Ruccola zusammengefallen und sah nicht mehr frisch aus. Der Boden könnte crosser sein. Die Pizza Hawai war auch ok, leider mit Ananas aus der Dose. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich.

Sehr gute italienische Küche mit wechselnder Karte. Leckere Antipasti, gute Weine und feine Nachspeisen runden den Genuss ab. Hier werden auch gehobene Ansprüche zufrieden gestellt. Immer wieder gerne.

Dieses Restaurant ist eine Reise wert. Eins der besten italienischen Restaurants, die wir jemals besucht haben. Es gibt nichts zu beanstanden, sogar die Bedienung ist professionell, was bekanntlich heutzutage eine Rarität ist. Die Auswahl ist riesig, gemessen an der Anzahl der Besucher an einem Sonntag mittags, wurden die Gerichte schnell gebracht, jedoch nicht unangenehm hastig. Der Kellner war aufmerksam, doch nicht aufdringlich, fand eine elegante Lösung, wie man 4 Gästen 2 Portionen mit je 3 Stück Bruschetta bringt. Alles in allem HERVORRAGEND!!!!!

Es war schon zu merken das es hier schon um ein gehobenes Restaurant geht. Der Service war super, trotz das es voll besetzt war und draußen auch Leute auf ein freien Platz warteten. Das Essen war super lecker, von den Preisen passend. Das einzige man sollte einen Tisch reservieren.

Ein ausgesprochen guter Ort, um in Lemgo einen schönen Abend zu verbringen. Die Austernpilze sind hervorragend und wenn die Pizza kross und würzig bestellt wird, gibt es nichts zu meckern. Der Service ist hochprofessionell und die Inhaber die fleißigsten Menschen die ich kenne. Ich bin immer wieder gerne dort.

Ich bin zu Besuch in Lemgo und habe Ausschau nach einem Italiener gehalten. Bereits einen Tag vorher fand ich das Gebäude beim Vorbeigehen sehr ansprechend. Heute war ich nun zum Mittag essen dort und kann es wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Das Essen war perfekt und die Bedienung auch sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Es bedarf keiner Worte, mir fehlen sie einfach :) ein rund um gelungenes Konzept. Eine Küche in der man das Herz Italiens förmlich spürt. Wir sind regelmäßig vor Ort, kennen die Karte von oben bis unten, aber jedesmal wieder ein neues Erlebnis. Lemgo ohne euch? Unvorstellbar.

Inzwischen ein Muss wenn ich in Lemgo bin. Sehr freundlicher Service. Tolles Essen, mit schöner Saisonaler Tageskarte.

Wir hatten einen Tisch für 19.40 Uhr reservieren lassen. Das Essen kam schnell und schmeckte hervorragend. Da gab es nichts zu beanstanden. Als wir um kurz vor 22 Uhr immer dort noch saßen, bekamen wir ungefragt die Rechnung. Um 22.20 Uhr wurde die Musik ausgedreht als sehr deutliches Zeichen, dass wir nun gehen sollten. In diesem Raum waren wir die letzten Gäste, im Nebenraum saßen allerdings noch welche. Wir haben es als Rauswurf verstanden und sind gegangen. Dieser unhöfliche Umgang mit seinen Gästen macht ein gutes Essen nicht wett. So kann ich das Vesuvio auf keinen Fall weiter empfehlen.

Qualität setzt sich durch: Das "Vesuvio" gibt’s in Lemgo schon, solange ich denken kann. Nun war ich wieder mal da und wurde nicht enttäuscht. Obwohl es recht voll war, wurde ich freundlich bedient. Die Tische waren mit weißen Decken und Stoffservietten hübsch eindeckt. Als Vorspeise wählte ich den "Insalata Vesuvio" (12 €), war ok. Die Bandnudeln mit Pfifferlingen und frischen Sommertrüffeln schmeckten lecker, sind m.M. nach mit 21 € für Pasta preislich aber schon grenzwertig. Dafür bekommt man das Weizenbier für 5 € nur noch selten.

Schon lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen wie gestern. Spitzenmäßige Essen toller Service und mega Ambiente. Hab noch nie ein so gutes Carpaccio gegessen wie im Vesuvio. Wir kommen mit Sicherheit wieder. Vielen Dank

We had a very nice Pizza Anniversaries and Tagliette with seafood. Pleasant service. The only thing would could be improved is the rim of the pizza: I prefer the authentic Neapolitan Style! But it was great to see the chef at the oven, after so many years!!? 😃

Seeeehr leckere Pizza Wir waren auf der Durchreise und habe für einen Salat und eine Pizza angehalten. Wir waren begeistert. Freundlicher Service und nettes Ambiente. Das Essen war sehr gut, frisch, schmackhaft und preislich auch angemessen.

Wir waren mit allem rundherum sehr zufrieden..... m. unseren drei versch. Essen, dem Dessert, dem sehr freundlichen Service, mit der Plazierung auf der großen Terrasse und dem Corona Hygienekonzept.

Ambiente etwas kitschig mit Mamor und lachsfarbenen Polstermöbeln aber hatte was. Schöner, grosser Raum mit offener Küche . Die Bedienung freundlich. Die Pizza sehr gut mit frischen Zutaten üppig belegt. Preislich absolut im Rahmen.Gerne wieder.

Die Pizza ist immer wieder lecker, das lässt sich nicht anders sagen. Sie ist aber leider auch das einzige Highlight des Restaurants. Man fühlt sich unwohl, sitzt wie die Sardinen eng nebeneinander, nimmt ein schlechtes Betriebsklima wahr, sieht wie „Pizza-Abholer“ zeitlich bevorzugt werden (ist es eine Pizzeria oder ein Lieferdienst?), kommt sich vor wie ein Bittsteller und regt sich jedes Mal aufs Neue auf über den unverschämt arroganten Service. Für mich, nach über 25 Jahren Vesuvio-Erfahrung, nun definitiv genug. Die Pizza schmeckt auch bei der Konkurrenz und da wird man zusätzlich auch nett und freundlich empfangen.

Die Pizza ist super. Aber: Wir sind seit 5 Jahren jedes Mal zu unserem Jahrestag dort. Es ist immer etwas schief gelaufen, mal ein Tisch neben der Toilette, mal im Gang. Dann gab es immer sehr lange Wartezeiten und wir mussten nachfragen wo das Essen bleibt. Heute kam alles zusammen. Wir haben ca 90 Minuten auf unsere Pizzen gewartet und haben eine Flasche Wein bestellt, die nicht in der normalen Karte stand. Darauf wurden wir allerdings nicht hingewiesen, wir dachten wir bestellen den offenen Wein als Flasche. Dass dies ein anderer und teurerer war, war uns nicht bewusst. Der Kellner war freundlicherweise dazu bereit uns entsprechend Geld zurück zu geben. Es geht nicht um das Geld, es geht darum, dass man sich dort einfach nicht willkommen und als Gast ernst genommen fühlt. Dadurch, dass das Essen so spät kam, dachte die andere Kellnerin sie deckt schonmal für morgen ein, was uns auch ein sehr behagliches Gefühl gegeben hat. Dass die Stühle nicht hochgestellt wurden war auch alles... Heute war unser letztes Mal Vesuvio. Wer kein Problem damit hat lange auf Essen zu warten, nicht als Gast behandelt werden möchte und mit der arroganten Art des Personals klarkommt, ist dort sicherlich gut aufgehoben. Wir geben auf. Bon Appetito!

Die Reservierung um 13.15 Uhr wurde eingehalten, ein schöner Tisch, frisch eingedeckt mit Deko wurde uns zugewiesen. Sehr freundliche Bedienungen versorgten uns mit Getränken, Vorspeisen (zum Teilen) mit mehreren Tellern, Hauptspeisen. Carpaccio, gemischte Vorspeisen, Meeresfrüchte Salat, Pizzen (vorgeschnitten) und Nudelgerichte wirklich lecker! Sehr guter Espresso! Wir kommen wieder.

Wenn wir einmal besonders gut italienisch essen wollen, gibt es nichts anderes als das Vesuvio. Seit mehr als 20 Jahren sind wir immer wieder dort.

Don’t mention the waiter - he kept ignoring me for 15 min, finally a friendly waitress saved me. The ravioli stuffed with chanterelles were tasty but the edge was pretty crispy and the fried topping mushrooms were cold. Bottomline I was hungry and the food was appropriate.

An excellent quality Italian. The menu is very extensive (it's a book and takes quite a long time to read through). I'm sure they could make this a bit more concise. However, it shows how wide a range there is. We were quite a large group, and everyone was really impressed with the food. I don't think anything was less than the best. Often Italians can be a little slow service, and this one was perhaps not quick, but they were reasonable and certainly the waiter was efficient. The waiter spoke great English. The bill was reasonable given that we'd all had two courses and a few drinks. About €30 per head. We were sitting outside on a warm summer evening. It was great, although there were a lot of flies buzzing around. If they could find some way of controlling them, then I think I'd be hard-pushed to find anything else to fault. Not only would I be happy to come back, I'd also be prepared to travel from the next town in order to come here.

To be honest - it's a wonderful but small city. Maybe that is what makes it so wonderful. But choice is few when it comes to the top box of restaurants. The Vesuvio has been around for decades in second generation now. They are neighbouring our office and we go there for important occasions. The pizza is legendary they have a brick and clay oven with internal open beechwood fire - that DOES make a big difference. Wine is excellent and moderate prices. But - what is moderate? By Hamburg and Düsseldorf standards they are joke. By Lemgo standards they are top level. It's worthwhile anyway. What really makes a difference is the way they treat special occasions. Tell them it is for an anniversary, proposal... whatever, they will make you and your friends proud, The owners the siblings Cannetti are great hosts. Safe choice!

I was there for lunch with my family. I eat the Tortellini that were advertised for the day. The food was tasty, but I got maybe 5 Tortellini on my plate - double the amount would not have been sufficient to leave the location full. And such a small amount of food for close to 16 Euro is pretty pricy. If you go there stick with the pizza - they are good value for the prize. They didn't play any music - so that diminished somewhat the Italian atmosphere.

While staying in Holzhausen-Externsteine we were made aware by friends of Restaurant Vesuvio in Lemgo at about 20 kilometers distance. We didn't know Lemgo and since we went there in the evening didn't have the chance to discover that Lemgo is a very old Hanse city. Fortunately we had made a table reservation, because when arriving there on a Saturday evening, people were waiting outside. Not only to take away pizza's, but also to get a table. The place was crowded, so although we had a reservation we had to wait 15 minutes till a table was made ready for us. It's unbelievable to see how many people can be accommodated in Vesuvio. The food, wines and atmosphere is really Italian, which means very good. The portions are very large and real value for money. Staff is very friendly. We will return.

Had a great lunch in the sunny courtyard. An extensive pizza menu plus many other pasta and meat choices. Excellent staff and an English menu all reasonably priced.

We have been there a few times last week. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. The food is very good, not necessarily top notch, but much better than all the restaurant chain equivalents that populate the high streets these days.

I enjoyed a last minute booked dinner here with a colleague of mine. Nicely crowded restaurant, Italian driven. Pure foor without a lot of overacting. Excellent ingredients. Staff surely OK and gentle but a little inpersonal and automated. Very good place to be at affordable prices

We were staying in the hotel Stadtpalais next door and the restaurant always had plenty of customers, we tried it and I can see why. The staff were very friendly and attentive but not overly so. The food was excellent, a really good range. We had the steak with different sauces and they were both excellent.

During my recent stay in Lemgo we had lunch twice at this family owned and operated Italian restaurant. Everyone was very friendly and attentive and the food was flavorful. The extensive menu includes many Italian specialties and a handful of kids favorites including a Wiener Schnitzel, which was generously sized and devoured by our 12 year old son. The pizza is baked in a special brick oven. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. At the end of both meals the owner offered a drink on the house.

Went here during Christmas Holidays with the family. Very nice and ambient restaurant. Being Holiday Season, they were obviously very busy, which unfortunately , could be seen in the service as well as the not finished cooked pizzas. The pizzas had no crust at all. All of our pizzas,were a bit "wet", and when informing the staff about this, we were told that that´s how pizzas are done by them. Disappointed kid and family. Will not go back.
