Venga Kleve in Kleve

I haven't been there in five years, and it wasn't good back then. Unfortunately, it wasn't good today either. Both meals were completely off-flavor. The chicken was from the refrigerator and certainly not freshly fried, with noodles and a sauce that was way too salty. It was so bad we didn't even complain. It's a shame.

Kleve is a compact city, especially compared to larger cities like Essen or Cologne. 🍹 Terrace experience at Venga We sat down on the terrace at Venga. Staff: Friendly and attentive Service: Fast and efficient Time: Lunchtime Although we only had a drink, we saw delicious lunch dishes being served on other tables—it looked well-prepared. 🌿 Location & Ambience The terrace is not located off the main shopping street, but is still quietly situated overlooking a canal. A lovely place to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

The food is good. But unfortunately, that's about it. The service is quite unfriendly; previously prepared orders are suddenly no longer possible, but as soon as you point this out, they suddenly become possible. Furthermore, the waitresses seem to quickly become overwhelmed.

We've visited this restaurant several times. It's located right next to the spa gardens. On all visits, we were greeted by very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food and cocktails were excellent. The breakfast buffet was also impressive. Anyone with time should definitely visit this restaurant.

Good food in a central location.

I'll be honest. The meat in my hamburger tasted like manure or a barnyard. I'm still not sure if that was meant to be. The price is good, and so is the quantity. My wife's casserole was very tasty. I'm giving it a 7.5; hopefully I won't get sick. Otherwise, I'll check Google Reviews later and change my rating to unsatisfactory. Luxurious interior, but not a particularly warm atmosphere.

When eating here, you should avoid the burgers. I've never seen such bad burgers. It just goes to show that they're only interested in profit. The cocktails were great; that's what they're known for. If a 10-year-old could have cooked the burger better, it could only be because they don't have enough staff or because profit is their priority. I'd happily have cocktails again, but I'll avoid the food here.

This was our first time here and we were absolutely thrilled with the ambiance, the food, and the very attentive service. We'd love to come back.

The gnocchi were inedible... and we didn't pay for them either. So much garlic... that it just burned while eating... and that for someone who really likes garlic. The pork medallion was OK... the spinach wasn't great either... the fried potatoes were burnt... the pepper sauce was run-of-the-mill with almost no peppercorns...

I'd love to give it 0 stars! The food was absolutely inedible. I had gnocchi with tomatoes, spinach, and garlic, but it wasn't just a little garlic (and I really like garlic), but rather a whole bulb of garlic, roughly sliced, that felt and tasted like it. Who eats that? Disgusting and a waste of all the ingredients! I'm really disappointed, as this place used to be one of the best. Thanks for the stomachache. I won't be back!!!

We were there yesterday with a birthday party of 20 people. As part of the reservation, we had agreed with the restaurant that we would provide an overview of our guests' food preferences a few days in advance, as we wanted them to be able to choose à la carte. In retrospect, it was an absolutely perfect decision: After all the guests had arrived and the first cold drinks were flowing, we gave the go-ahead for the meal. And then things happened in quick succession. The food came one after the other so we could all eat together at the same time. Despite having pre-ordered food, the team was very flexible when one or two spontaneous requests came up. The dessert requests were especially spontaneous. But it was no problem. They took it and it was ready. The food was, as usual, very tasty and the portions generous. Whether it was salad, burger, or pasta, everything was as it should be. Our guests were very satisfied. The entire team was extremely courteous, friendly, and attentive. Drink requests were also regularly taken and served promptly. A nice, cozy, and separately reserved area had been prepared for us outside. As the evening got a bit cooler, we were spontaneously allowed to move inside. We had a wonderful evening/birthday party at Venga Kleve and would like to thank the entire team for the perfect execution. We would love to come back.

Nice staff, delicious cocktails, but the restrooms are absolutely terrible! You wonder how a place with so few customers can have such dirty, filthy, and truly littered restrooms. The outdoor area isn't very well-maintained either, with lots of weeds, etc. At least you could pick up the dropped napkins as you walk by... Conclusion: Venga has declined considerably!

I've been going to Venga every now and then for years. While I was happy until last season, this season the service is practically nonexistent. I've sat in different places four times on different days, inside and outside, and we simply didn't get served. It was never full, but when after half an hour they still act like you're invisible, you eventually get fed up with waiting. It hasn't been like that in recent years. Only this year. It's as if the entire staff has been replaced with a few waitresses who seem very unmotivated and simply don't work. I think it's a shame, and as I said, it's happened not once, but four times that we ended up going somewhere else. If it were packed, I could understand why it would take a while. But it never has been. You're just treated like air. That's why I definitely wouldn't recommend it at the moment. The atmosphere is nice, the food is okay, but if you can't order, it's all for nothing.

Had a delicious meal on the terrace

Very good burgers. We wanted to go somewhere else, but I heard they make great burgers here. So we took the opportunity and honestly, we didn't regret it. The Erding beer was delicious. The burger fries are also of high quality. Overall, there's nothing to complain about. I recommend it to everyone.

Essen, also die Flammkuchen mit Lachs, war sehr gut. Aber, ein Moscow Mule im Glas geht gar nicht. Schade, sonst ein Punkt mehr. Angenehme Atmosphäre, unaufdringliche, gute Musik zum Essen und Unterhalten.

Quiet place where you can eat and drink for a normal price,

On April 25 and 26 for dinner. First evening there about 9pm. Everything okay. Some heavy lobster sauce for salmon fillet and salty dressing for tomato salad. Ordered asparagus on the second evening. Were good. Shortly after 10 pm we wanted to order dessert. Waitress said: can't anymore, kitchen is closed. Excuse me?! Why, when the plates were removed about 10 minutes earlier, was they not told that we had to order dessert immediately if we still wanted one? We also ordered dessert late the night before! Furthermore, the second evening the ladies' toilet turned out to be a mess of paper: there was actually a mountain of paper towels on top of the waste bin and many had fallen on the floor. Surely someone could check the toilets a few times in the evening? Too bad about that second evening. We still celebrated 22 years together. And it was even busier on Friday the 25th. We thought the wine was far too expensive: €7.50 per glass. A price for more expensive restaurants, we think. In most other catering establishments in Kleve: approximately €5.20 – 6.50.

**Bad Experience - No Seeing Again** I recently went to this restaurant to have a hamburger. Unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The vegetables that were served with the burger smelled unpleasant and were obviously spoiled. We reported this to the waiter, but his response was completely inadequate: all he did was offer us the opportunity to have a cappuccino as an apology - and that at 10 p.m.! This type of apology was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. At the end of the evening there was no discount or other form of compensation for the bill. It is very disappointing that one cannot expect a sincere apology or a gesture of compensation in a restaurant that serves spoiled food. This is a very serious matter as you should not sell spoiled food and also do not care about customer satisfaction. However, the waiter was very nice and professional, which was the only positive thing about the evening. Unfortunately I will no longer visit this restaurant because of this experience.

I have to wait a very long time for our drinks and between going to the counter and ordering them because no one came, the food was great.

Actually it was my favorite restaurant The food and ambience were great, but the service was very poor. You wait an incredibly long time for a waiter, and if you were able to order your drink after 20 minutes, no one notices that the glass has been empty for a long time, even if someone is nearby. When you ask why you aren't served outside, they just say that the main business is indoors. Impossible on the first warm days of the year. You don't get to see the last lap here either. I usually finish at 10 p.m. on weekends.

We were allocated a very nice table. The first drinks arrived very quickly and were also very tasty. I just find it cheeky that a cocktail is cheaper than a cola. We waited almost an hour for the food after ordering, which was far too long for me personally. It has to be said that the store was very full. I would eat there again, but I wish I didn't have to wait so long for food.

Unfortunately, the order was not served to the customer even after 100 minutes. Waiters were always trying hard, but the time frame was far beyond the usual limit.

Bad service, we asked for 2 starters, waiting 30 minuten for them, ask when they woud come, se sad it would take some time. 2 minuten after asking they bring everything together at the table. If you want nice personen serving you don't come here!!!

Very tasty food, but the pizza was very small, it used to be much bigger, I ordered a lot of onions, but then I got more tuna, but it was still 😋 😋 because of the size, a strong deduction. The service is on three stars because you can't reach them by phone and not whether they're open today, December 26th, 2024, or not. TO AVOID !!! Despite food was nice, restaurant itself was run down, not clean and very dark. Service was the WORST ever with two most arrogant young ladies who would walk away while you were talking to them. We had to wait for our food and when we asked for a dessert, we were abruptly yelled that kitchen was closed. When we asked why they did not inform us in time, they most ungraciously screamed it was not not their job. We had them yo wait 15 minutes standing by the door for our bill…. Sure not the right way to stay in business !

The food was really delicious, but... The service is horrible. We sat with empty glasses most of the time and no waiter came to us. When we were able to take orders, it was ultimately forgotten or we were made to wait 30 minutes. The food served did not match our orders. “Coctails” passed completely!!! made of ice cubes, which meant you didn't have any of the actual cocktail. Underground for the prices. The staff didn't understand the deficiencies - but that was more due to the language barrier. We won't be coming back, there are restaurants in Kleve in the same price range that are significantly better.

This is the third or fourth time I have visited this restaurant with my wife. Parking is plentiful and within a short walking distance from the restaurant. About the restaurant itself: The reception left a lot to be desired as the waitress wasn't attentive and didn't welcome us. After we got our seat, it took quite a while until we could order our drinks. It was noticed that the table had not been wiped, the decorations were not clean and the decoration of the rooms was somewhat questionable. After waiting about 50 minutes for our food, we were finally able to enjoy it. As always, the food was very good and portioned just right. Now unfortunately back to a bad point: the toilet. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities were very dirty and have probably not seen any cleaning staff for a long time. The floor was flooded and paper was everywhere. The hand paper towels didn't find their way to the dispenser, but they did find their way everywhere else. A lost dog waterback was standing at a table without a dog and had apparently been knocked over many times. Conclusion: Food good and cheap, Service poor and unprofessional Ambience needs more attention

I've always been a fan of the Venga. However, the absolute opposite was convinced. The new operation doesn't work at all. When ordering (6 people) making a comment “that's quite a lot..” and then only adding half of it to the order. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the dish I ordered. Shortly afterwards the question “is that enough?” knowing that we had actually ordered more. Very presumptuous! If I order something and pay for it, then I want to receive the food I ordered without any questions from the waiter. First cocktail was great. The second one was not edible at all. Too bad!

Unfortunately, I really didn’t like it... As soon as we entered, no one greeted us and it smelled of sweat. Flies flew over the food, the juice was not tasty, there was nothing in the salad except lettuce. And they never came to us to ask if everything was okay. They made a mistake with the order many times, they brought a small one instead of a large one, and thank God.

That wasn't really good...sorry Even though it was still early in the evening, we and other guests had to wait what felt like an eternity for a table to be assigned to us (reserved). We were there with friends. As a starter we had various bruscetta. The white bread under the tomatoes was not toasted - the bread was ready with tomatoes on it. The burgers (clearly made from pure beef) were so fried and dry that they could have easily lasted 10 KM as the sole of a shoe...we had double paddies. These were served without any sauce, mustard or greens in between, just a little mayo on the bottom bun. These rolls have not seen any grill or roasting plate either, out of the bag, clothes on and off to the plate. Sorry... but for the price, that's not ok. The service was okay, but the food and price were off

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the “Venga” restaurant. My visit there was disappointing, and the dish I was looking forward to - a potato casserole - left something to be desired in every way. The casserole arrived cold and upon return it was simply reheated in the microwave, which did not improve the texture or taste. The sauce was watery and tasteless, the potatoes remained cold, and the cheese was soggy and carelessly sprinkled over the dish. The restaurant itself seems old and in need of renovation, which doesn't add to the atmosphere. While the service was attentive and friendly, the kitchen desperately needs an overhaul to keep guests happy. An unfortunate visit and I hope the restaurant works on these criticisms.

Simple system catering, with bad and unfriendly staff, very long waiting times and horrendous prices for the offer.

After a long bike ride we wanted to take a break here, have a drink and have lunch. After about 20 minutes, a service came for the first time... not a greeting or the question of whether we would like to order something... whether those were our bicycles that were parked on the way in front of the restaurant? When we answered in the affirmative, we were not asked, but rather rudely asked, to put our bikes away, otherwise there would be no space for wheelchair users (on the approximately 6 m wide street). Mind you, it's a town festival today and there are hoses from the fire department on the street, and there are stalls on the left and right on the path. We then wanted to put the bikes away and asked if we could order something because we thought we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for service! We should put the bikes away first, then we'll see what happens next. You can have enough bad food in Kleve, but certainly not here anymore! If you want more than canteen food, there are several options in the surrounding area!

Congratulations, I've never had worse service. After about 25 minutes we were approached by a bad-tempered and unfriendly waitress. Food of high quality, just above ready meals from the refrigerated counter. But overpriced.

The drinks and food were ok. However, there were a few points that unfortunately marred our visit. The service took a long time to arrive, so you had to actively ask. Unfortunately, the glass facade was smeared with fingerprints and the menus were stuck. The entrance area with the curtained vestibule was supposed to provide protection from the wind, but was constantly pulled aside by other guests who were smoking right in front of the door, which resulted in the smoke drifting into the restaurant. The sanitary facilities could definitely be better maintained, which other reviews here also mention. The bar may be ok for a few cocktails, but overall there is still a lot to improve.

Mega delicious food, the schnitzel was very tender! We ate something from the lunch menu and saved money, which is highly recommended. Prices are okay and the portion was enough to fill you up. The service was nice. The atmosphere is quite nice but nothing special. We can highly recommend a visit, especially at lunchtime! We'll be back.

Yesterday we were with you with 7 people. Food was ok, staff was great but the air there was an absolute disgrace. We probably got up 10 times before and during dinner to get some air! I had real circulatory problems and other guests were also sitting there waving their cards in front of their faces. I will never go there again in the summer. None of us finished our food and left quickly, like many of the other guests we spoke to outside. It's also a disgrace for the staff to work there. There is no air conditioning and not a single window to open. Really bad for a building like this.

We bestelde flammkuchen, mijn vrouw met spek, uien etc en ik met zalm en rucola. Het is een slappe hap, geen knapperige korst of iets, maar een slappe natte vaatdoek. Had het aan de ober gemeld en liet het zien door het als vaatdoek met mijn duim en wijsvinger te houden. Deze beaamde dit , maar nooit wat van gehoord. Ook teveel zout gebruiken ze in dit restaurant.. Het is smaakt dan altijd wel lekker denkt de kok waarschijnlijk. Slechtste restaurant in omgeving of je hebt de verkeerde smaakpapillen

Waited a relaxed 2 hours for our food. I think the air conditioning was removed in the morning. After asking several times whether the kitchen had forgotten us, we were only told that the kitchen would be checked to see what it looked like. Thanks for nothing

Returning to Venga is a pleasure. They continue to impress with a consistency most can only dream of. From the offset the staff are friendly and welcoming. We’ve been a number of times and the staff welcome us back each time remembering we liked the raised tables (great for people watching 😉) and some particulars to follow. The restaurant is comfortable with great decor. It has a modern feel with warmth. Surrounded big floor to ceiling windows you get the sense of openness but have the privacy for a close cuddle or conversation. Now the food!!! The portions are by no means small so prepare yourself. It’s rare we don’t take a portion home, although we save some room for dessert, the chocolate soufflé will tickle your taste buds and leave a drooling smile on your face! There’s a great selection on the menu, none of which hasn’t left my eyes any less excited than my mouth. It’s not overly sprinkled with pomp, just looks delicious and doesn’t fail to please. Now back to the staff! We always order a soup to share as a starter. We don’t have to ask, the staff just smile, wink and say “With two spoons”. It’s that kind of thing that warms your cockles and invites you back! Pay Venga a visit, I promise you’ll return. If you want to treat that someone special to a nice romantic meal or join some friends for a hearty greet with food, you’ll not be disappointed, and neither will they! Bon appetite!!!

The restaurant is located in the middle of Kleve. The train station is less than 5 minutes away. Dogs get water immediately. Parking spaces are available in the surrounding area. The great atmosphere invites you to linger. The service was friendly and attentive. Food was very tasty. There is bread in advance. For the 2nd time. Group of 10 people, everyone was happy with their food. Staff just great, especially Michael and Kathi. It is advisable to reserve a table in advance. We can only recommend this restaurant and would be happy to come back.

A relatively modern atmosphere for Kleve, very friendly service.

Venga is, opvallend, een prachtig, goed verzorgd, perfecte bar/restaurant. Het personeel is bij,onder vriendelijk, behulpzaam en vooral gericht op het zorgen dat je een plezierige en gezellige tijd hebt. De kaart is ietwat beperkt maar dat worst zeker goed gemaakt door de "opties" die er zijn, wil je een snack, een portie frietjes, eigenlijk is alles mogelijk en we hebben heerlijk genoten. Als rolstoelgebruiker merk ik dat Venga alles heeft gedaan om ook voor rolstoelers alles toegankelijk te maken. Ruime deuren, paden, invalidentoilet en alles keurig verzorgt waarbij het personeel meeloopt om de deur open te houden. Het eten, tot slot, ook een aanrader. Geen enkele op- of aanmerking, heerlijk gegeten, gedronken en genoten van de perfecte sfeer.

Great meal. One of the restaurants where they still make schnitzels the way they should be...veal in a really crispy and beautifully loose crust! Service is extremely friendly and fast and the food is simply delicious, especially for the prices. Sauces with the meat (in our case pepper and mushroom sauce) are nice and thick and have a good taste. I received the rump steak as I ordered it and that is always the question, but here it was just good. Perhaps the appetizers such as the baked potatoes and salad could have been a little more extensive, but we still had a good meal and enough food. The Caesar salad also tasted great with a good dressing and the right ingredients. Unfortunately we ran out of time for dessert so we couldn't test that. Next time I'll try the 1kg prawns...that seems promising for another good price.

Had lunch in this restaurant on Sunday May 26, the first waiter was very unfriendly, completely ignored us and only helped other tables. Finally we asked if we could see a menu, after 10 minutes he walked back grumpy and threw the menus on the table and then walked away without asking if we wanted something to drink. Finally we approached the other waiter to give our order, he was super friendly and also spoke English to make it easier for us. The food was super tasty and the burgers were large and tender. Would definitely come back here but avoid certain staff members.

We hebben hier met zijn vieren op 6 mei allemaal een venga burger gegeten. Na eerdere bezoeken, welke prima waren, zijn we er nu allemaal ziek van geworden. We hebben een volledige dag op bed gelegen met voedselvergiftiging. Helaas komen we hier dus niet meer terug.
