Venga Kleve in Kleve

That wasn't really good...sorry Even though it was still early in the evening, we and other guests had to wait what felt like an eternity for a table to be assigned to us (reserved). We were there with friends. As a starter we had various bruscetta. The white bread under the tomatoes was not toasted - the bread was ready with tomatoes on it. The burgers (clearly made from pure beef) were so fried and dry that they could have easily lasted 10 KM as the sole of a shoe...we had double paddies. These were served without any sauce, mustard or greens in between, just a little mayo on the bottom bun. These rolls have not seen any grill or roasting plate either, out of the bag, clothes on and off to the plate. Sorry... but for the price, that's not ok. The service was okay, but the food and price were off

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the “Venga” restaurant. My visit there was disappointing, and the dish I was looking forward to - a potato casserole - left something to be desired in every way. The casserole arrived cold and upon return it was simply reheated in the microwave, which did not improve the texture or taste. The sauce was watery and tasteless, the potatoes remained cold, and the cheese was soggy and carelessly sprinkled over the dish. The restaurant itself seems old and in need of renovation, which doesn't add to the atmosphere. While the service was attentive and friendly, the kitchen desperately needs an overhaul to keep guests happy. An unfortunate visit and I hope the restaurant works on these criticisms.

Simple system catering, with bad and unfriendly staff, very long waiting times and horrendous prices for the offer.

After a long bike ride we wanted to take a break here, have a drink and have lunch. After about 20 minutes, a service came for the first time... not a greeting or the question of whether we would like to order something... whether those were our bicycles that were parked on the way in front of the restaurant? When we answered in the affirmative, we were not asked, but rather rudely asked, to put our bikes away, otherwise there would be no space for wheelchair users (on the approximately 6 m wide street). Mind you, it's a town festival today and there are hoses from the fire department on the street, and there are stalls on the left and right on the path. We then wanted to put the bikes away and asked if we could order something because we thought we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for service! We should put the bikes away first, then we'll see what happens next. You can have enough bad food in Kleve, but certainly not here anymore! If you want more than canteen food, there are several options in the surrounding area!

Congratulations, I've never had worse service. After about 25 minutes we were approached by a bad-tempered and unfriendly waitress. Food of high quality, just above ready meals from the refrigerated counter. But overpriced.

Recommended for a 🍺 in a group. In the future we will eat elsewhere in the neighborhood, for example 🐟 at Vitello.

The drinks and food were ok. However, there were a few points that unfortunately marred our visit. The service took a long time to arrive, so you had to actively ask. Unfortunately, the glass facade was smeared with fingerprints and the menus were stuck. The entrance area with the curtained vestibule was supposed to provide protection from the wind, but was constantly pulled aside by other guests who were smoking right in front of the door, which resulted in the smoke drifting into the restaurant. The sanitary facilities could definitely be better maintained, which other reviews here also mention. The bar may be ok for a few cocktails, but overall there is still a lot to improve.

Mega delicious food, the schnitzel was very tender! We ate something from the lunch menu and saved money, which is highly recommended. Prices are okay and the portion was enough to fill you up. The service was nice. The atmosphere is quite nice but nothing special. We can highly recommend a visit, especially at lunchtime! We'll be back.

Yesterday we were with you with 7 people. Food was ok, staff was great but the air there was an absolute disgrace. We probably got up 10 times before and during dinner to get some air! I had real circulatory problems and other guests were also sitting there waving their cards in front of their faces. I will never go there again in the summer. None of us finished our food and left quickly, like many of the other guests we spoke to outside. It's also a disgrace for the staff to work there. There is no air conditioning and not a single window to open. Really bad for a building like this.

We bestelde flammkuchen, mijn vrouw met spek, uien etc en ik met zalm en rucola. Het is een slappe hap, geen knapperige korst of iets, maar een slappe natte vaatdoek. Had het aan de ober gemeld en liet het zien door het als vaatdoek met mijn duim en wijsvinger te houden. Deze beaamde dit , maar nooit wat van gehoord. Ook teveel zout gebruiken ze in dit restaurant.. Het is smaakt dan altijd wel lekker denkt de kok waarschijnlijk. Slechtste restaurant in omgeving of je hebt de verkeerde smaakpapillen

I went to Venga today because of the nice weather, but was shocked at the prices for a glass of wine: 7.50 euros! Unfortunately we will now go somewhere else for a drink

Waited a relaxed 2 hours for our food. I think the air conditioning was removed in the morning. After asking several times whether the kitchen had forgotten us, we were only told that the kitchen would be checked to see what it looked like. Thanks for nothing

Die Bedienung ist ganz okay, war auch freundlich aber es ist nur für Cocktails zu empfehlen Das bestellte Essen zu liefern, war wohl zu schwierig. Ich habe nicht bekommen was ich bestellt hab, im Anschluss bin ich in eine Pizzeria gefahren. Die können kochen was man bestellt

Returning to Venga is a pleasure. They continue to impress with a consistency most can only dream of. From the offset the staff are friendly and welcoming. We’ve been a number of times and the staff welcome us back each time remembering we liked the raised tables (great for people watching 😉) and some particulars to follow. The restaurant is comfortable with great decor. It has a modern feel with warmth. Surrounded big floor to ceiling windows you get the sense of openness but have the privacy for a close cuddle or conversation. Now the food!!! The portions are by no means small so prepare yourself. It’s rare we don’t take a portion home, although we save some room for dessert, the chocolate soufflé will tickle your taste buds and leave a drooling smile on your face! There’s a great selection on the menu, none of which hasn’t left my eyes any less excited than my mouth. It’s not overly sprinkled with pomp, just looks delicious and doesn’t fail to please. Now back to the staff! We always order a soup to share as a starter. We don’t have to ask, the staff just smile, wink and say “With two spoons”. It’s that kind of thing that warms your cockles and invites you back! Pay Venga a visit, I promise you’ll return. If you want to treat that someone special to a nice romantic meal or join some friends for a hearty greet with food, you’ll not be disappointed, and neither will they! Bon appetite!!!

The restaurant is located in the middle of Kleve. The train station is less than 5 minutes away. Dogs get water immediately. Parking spaces are available in the surrounding area. The great atmosphere invites you to linger. The service was friendly and attentive. Food was very tasty. There is bread in advance. For the 2nd time. Group of 10 people, everyone was happy with their food. Staff just great, especially Michael and Kathi. It is advisable to reserve a table in advance. We can only recommend this restaurant and would be happy to come back.

Excellent food at good prices and the service is friendly, competent and very attentive. In addition, dogs are not only allowed but also very welcome. We would give more than 5 stars if it were possible!!

Venga is, opvallend, een prachtig, goed verzorgd, perfecte bar/restaurant. Het personeel is bij,onder vriendelijk, behulpzaam en vooral gericht op het zorgen dat je een plezierige en gezellige tijd hebt. De kaart is ietwat beperkt maar dat worst zeker goed gemaakt door de "opties" die er zijn, wil je een snack, een portie frietjes, eigenlijk is alles mogelijk en we hebben heerlijk genoten. Als rolstoelgebruiker merk ik dat Venga alles heeft gedaan om ook voor rolstoelers alles toegankelijk te maken. Ruime deuren, paden, invalidentoilet en alles keurig verzorgt waarbij het personeel meeloopt om de deur open te houden. Het eten, tot slot, ook een aanrader. Geen enkele op- of aanmerking, heerlijk gegeten, gedronken en genoten van de perfecte sfeer.

Just had something to eat. Pasta from the oven that was really delicious and a small salad. Everything was tasty and good service.

Great meal. One of the restaurants where they still make schnitzels the way they should be...veal in a really crispy and beautifully loose crust! Service is extremely friendly and fast and the food is simply delicious, especially for the prices. Sauces with the meat (in our case pepper and mushroom sauce) are nice and thick and have a good taste. I received the rump steak as I ordered it and that is always the question, but here it was just good. Perhaps the appetizers such as the baked potatoes and salad could have been a little more extensive, but we still had a good meal and enough food. The Caesar salad also tasted great with a good dressing and the right ingredients. Unfortunately we ran out of time for dessert so we couldn't test that. Next time I'll try the 1kg prawns...that seems promising for another good price.

Had lunch in this restaurant on Sunday May 26, the first waiter was very unfriendly, completely ignored us and only helped other tables. Finally we asked if we could see a menu, after 10 minutes he walked back grumpy and threw the menus on the table and then walked away without asking if we wanted something to drink. Finally we approached the other waiter to give our order, he was super friendly and also spoke English to make it easier for us. The food was super tasty and the burgers were large and tender. Would definitely come back here but avoid certain staff members.

We were seated at a drafty table and were not allowed to move, even though only 4 tables were occupied. We drank a watery cocktail and left without eating anything. It was just too cold.

We hebben hier met zijn vieren op 6 mei allemaal een venga burger gegeten. Na eerdere bezoeken, welke prima waren, zijn we er nu allemaal ziek van geworden. We hebben een volledige dag op bed gelegen met voedselvergiftiging. Helaas komen we hier dus niet meer terug.

A wonderful bar. Best food, delicious large cocktails freshly mixed by the bartenders. Friendly staff overall this bar feels very cozy and inviting. Absolute recommendation

We hebben hier geluncht. De kaart biedt een enorme keuze aan allerlei gerechten. Naast pizza’s, wraps, hamburgers, ovengerechten e.d. worden er ook typisch Duitse gerechten geserveerd en is er een seizoenskaart met nu asperges er op natuurlijk. De porties zijn zeer groot en de asperges smaakten goed. Het fijne van Duitsland is dat je niet alleen maar frites krijgt maar ook aardappels e.d kan kiezen. De bediening is wat onverschillig en ze zijn soms meer geïnteresseerd in elkaar dan in de klanten . Maar we hebben lekker gegeten en daar draait het om.

Waiters didn't invent working. On the outside terrace there are almost no conditions at all and when they do, they tend to be unfriendly and annoyed. There are exceptions, but they are rare.

Eating is like this today it was potato casserole that was cold. It's sad to pay so much money for eating out today and the food was still cold, really cheeky.

Had lunch here today, it was super tasty, great service. At first it was difficult for us to choose from all the goodies on the menu, but in the end we were able to choose. After we placed our order, we also received a small basket of (discs) baguette with a nice fresh spread from the house, much to our surprise. We liked/tasted this. We enjoyed the food (chicken with mushroom cream sauce, pasta and cheese from the oven and a goat cheese burger). We left with our bags full. We will definitely come back again.

It was great, we spent a lovely afternoon there with our friends. Again and again.

Spent a nice evening with my friends there. Baked nachos and long drink were very tasty. Unfortunately we had to wait a little longer for service, but since the store was packed, that's forgivable. Cozy and stylish atmosphere.

Not nearly as it was. Poor service: We waited an hour for our food. In the meantime, drinks were only asked sporadically. Unfriendly, impersonal service. Food was ok, but nothing special.

Actually always happy. We've enjoyed going to Venga so far. Unfortunately, I now find the pricing of the wines (€7.50/0.2l) excessive. A pity.

Yesterday evening at 5:30 p.m. I was very happy to have a birthday dinner with my wife in the not very busy Venga. But we were seriously disappointed by the rude manner of the staff in charge, who took their stress out on the guests. When we asked if we could get a table by the window since we had reserved early, the only friendly waitress tried to work through the reservations and help us, which was then answered in an unfriendly and from above manner when we asked the foreman condescending manner ended in the statement that we should go to one of the uncomfortable ones High tables were seated, the rest would have been allocated elsewhere despite early reservations. We weren't the only ones with this experience that evening. The waitress then tried to save us the rest of the evening. Unfortunately the cocktails were far too watery, but the food was great. But the sanitary facilities were also in a poor condition. Some tables were only cleared after 50 minutes. Towards the end of our visit there was probably enough staff available, which didn't save the situation for us. When we left the restaurant we had to make adjustments; none of the tables we wanted were unoccupied the entire time.

Very disappointing. When we entered the Venga we were not noticed by the staff even though they had seen us. After a few minutes we went to a cellar which then led us to the reserved table. Despite a reservation, a chair was missing. Only after further inquiries did we receive a chair a few minutes later. In general the atmosphere was very uncomfortable. A few tables and chairs were scattered around the room. Unfortunately, it took a long time to place orders for drinks and food. We had to call the waitress over after about 20 minutes. Unfortunately, the food was also subpar. My pasta with spinach and cherry tomatoes was unseasoned and lukewarm. There was no salt and pepper at the table, so I stood up to the waiter and asked for it. A friend had the chili cheese burger. This had Chio's cheese dipping sauce on it. Yes, the sauce you use to dip for tortilla chips 😄 We tried them all and recognized the sauce straight away. The menu says “homemade sauce”. All in all we won't be coming back. You had to look for waiters, you waited ages for everything, the atmosphere wasn't nice and the food really wasn't good. We will not recommend it to anyone.

Wir konnten relativ schnell etwas zu trinken bestellen doch danach wurden wir eine Stunde ignoriert dann mussten wir wieder 1:15 Stunden warten bis das Essen kam es war zwar relativ gut aber wo anders muss man nicht solange warten und bekommt besseres Essen

Great, a lot of food for the price. Good cocktails, good prawns, good fish, good Greek burgers. Top Only staff, severely understaffed. 2 girls serving, 1 boy behind the bar… The shop is packed, and there is anyway 1 extra man behind the bar and 2 in the service. Nothing else to complain about, really great food for the price.

2nd attempt in Venga. Unfortunately we weren't served and left the restaurant after 15 minutes. It wasn't very busy, nor were the waiters or the lady behind the bar really busy. We were noticed but not served. Again, unfortunately not a good experience. Therefore absolutely not recommended!

Unfortunately, the burger was cold and the “sauce” was what felt like half a tube of ready-made mayonnaise. By the time you could order drinks, your arm fell off from waving. The colleague conversations behind the counter seem to have been important. While the restaurant was still busy, the tables that were no longer occupied were cleaned two hours before closing time and the chairs and bar stools were then put on the table. Very uncomfortable to stay there :-( I gave it a chance twice but unfortunately the second visit was very similar. Therefore I will no longer visit this restaurant. It's a shame, because the central location on Spoy is actually inviting

Come to Venga often. Not anymore from today. Was at Venga with my very pregnant sister. We just wanted to drink a little, eat some soup and use the toilet. There weren't many customers, but in total we spent more than an hour just waiting. Very incompetent service. We went to the bar twice to pay because our waitress simply stopped coming to our table. At the bar they said that we could only pay when we served us. Just really stupid.

Great ambience, service so-so drinks top and food… well it was ok. Don't understand all the praise for the food. Maybe it's a little better for Kleve conditions, but if you often go out for a “good” meal, and perhaps not just in the Kleve district, you will be disappointed.

Eine Reservierung, die auch eingehalten werden sollte, ist besonders am Wochenende erforderlich. Es gibt für wirklich jeden etwas zu essen.

Sehr freundliches Personal, leckeres Essen und Getränke, keine lange Wartezeit, obwohl viel los war. Auch der vegetarische Linsen-Burger war prima!

Wir waren schon ein paar Mal zum Mittagstisch dort essen. Mein Favorit sind die Bandnudeln mit Spinat und Lachs (Mittagstisch für 9,90€ inkl. Getränk oder kleinem Salat). Vorab bekommt man Brot und sehr leckeren Kräuterquark kostenlos. Die Portionen sind ziemlich groß und es schmeckt immer sehr gut. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Venga ist sehr gemütlich. Das Essen war ein träumchen selten so was tolles gegessen... super Koch. Hatte edelwildgulsch mit rotkohl und Spätzle. Der Wahnsinn. Service Bedienung war toll super nett. Es ist behindertengerecht ohne Stufen barrierefrei. Evtl. Sollte man vorher ein Tisch reservieren weil es doch sehr beliebt ist und meist voll. Tolles Restaurant immer wieder gerne dort.

Schöne Mittagsterrasse am Rande der Innenstadt von Kleve. Hier habe ich ein großes, zartes Schnitzel mit einer gut gefüllten Pfeffersoße gegessen. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam und herzlich. Leuk lunchterras aan de rand van de binnenstad van Kleve. Ik at hier een grote malse schnitzel met een goed gevulde paprikasaus. De bediening is erg attent en hartelijk.

Service ist nicht der hit. Wartezeit sind sehr lange und macht man nicht auf sich aufmerksam ist man verloren was die Bestellungen betrifft.

Sehr warm, keine Klimaanlage. Stickig und heiß.

Hele goede cocktails. Maar helaas geen waardige vegan snacks. Daardoor werden wij van eten buitengesloten. Wat opmerkelijk is in 2023.

Vor einigen Tagen waren wir bei Venga was essen und haben uns entschieden den Abend draußen zu verbringen, leider waren wir total unzufrieden mit dem Service. Bis das Essen kamm war alles in Ordnung, das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker aber die Bedienung 🤦‍♀️ Katastrophe.....nach über eine halbe stunde mit lerren Gläser kamm endlich jemand nach draußen aber wir wurden noch nicht mals wahr genommen. Erst als wir am winken waren wurden die leeren Teller weg geträumt und wir konntenn endlich was zum trinken bestellen , kerzen draußen wurden noch nicht mals angemacht , es sei dem man macht es selbst ! Die Bedienung ist wärend wir ohne Getränke da sitzen schön eine rauchen gegangen, und das nicht nur ein mal !!! Irgendwann haben wir uns so unwohl gefühlt das wir gehen wollte aber weit und breit keine Bedienung zum abkassieren also gehen wir rein und wir standen da wollten bezahlen und die Damen stehen , lachen und quatschen .....entschuldige aber kann man vielleicht erstmal abkassieren wenn man sieht das einer da steht ? Ich kenne Venga noch von früher und ich bin so gerne dort hin gegangen aber dieses Mal war es eine Enttäuschung!

Pfifferlingburger mit Gorgonzola und viel frischem Gemüse, Flammkuchen Caprese,Thunfischpizza und Elsässer Flammkuchen. Alles sehr schnell fertig mit frischen Zutaten und viel Liebe zubereitet. Einfach nur sehr lecker 😋 und absolut zu empfehlen
