Vegetarisches Restaurant Hiller in Hannover

Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time for our food. The service seemed unprofessional and inattentive. Empty glasses piled up on our table. The food itself was inconsistent. Some of it was tasty, some of it wasn't.

We were there for the evening buffet on a Sunday. Even though we arrived shortly after opening and no one else was there, some of the dishes were almost empty. The condition of the food also showed that it had been on the buffet since midday. Accordingly, all the dishes were cold. Furthermore, no spices were used in any of the dishes. This was questionable with dishes like chili or curry. The waiter didn't come once to ask for more drinks in over an hour, even though she obviously had nothing to do (two tables were occupied by then). Finally, when I asked whether the food had tasted good, and I expressed that it hadn't, there was no interest at all, which was wrong.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to try the vegan buffet at Restaurant Hiller, and I was definitely impressed. There's a wide variety of dishes to sample at the buffet, and a female dog greets you as soon as you enter. The food is delicious and focuses on vegetables, rice, potatoes, or pasta; no vegan substitutes were used. Those who prefer a spicier dish can add more salt, but it's recommended to indulge in the taste experience without too much salt. The service was friendly, and the atmosphere was inviting.

It has a cult feel, but for a restaurant that's been vegetarian/vegan for so long, I expected something more delicious. Everything at the buffet was okay, but nothing particularly good.

An amazing buffet! Delicious, with a wide selection, including salads, countless main courses, and desserts. Our highlights were the vegan schnitzel, the bread dumplings in mushroom sauce, the pumpkin curry, the vegan rice pudding, and the mango cream—simply wow! Excellent value for money. We'd love to come back.

We went there for the first time to try the vegan leg. The wait was an hour, which was quite long. The taste was 100% worth it. The price/performance ratio was right for me. The ambiance is nothing special, so if you're looking for fancy food, this isn't the place for you.

I ate the vegan lunch buffet at Hiller and found it very tasty and varied. The falafel and hummus were particularly excellent, in my opinion, but the hot dishes were also of good quality. The dessert of semolina pudding and passion fruit cream rounded off the excellent overall experience for me at a reasonable price. I would also like to emphasize the friendly and uncomplicated service. I highly recommend Hiller.

So far, it was pretty good. Unfortunately, the food was very lukewarm. But for all-you-can-eat and all vegan, it's pretty good. I think the food might be really good if you order from the menu.

It took 30 minutes for the service to bring drinks after asking twice. Eventually, we just went to the buffet; no one was interested. No one else came to us during our 90-minute stay. The ambiance is dusty 80s with hints of the 50s. The food consists of hot and cold (raw) vegetables, some of it frozen, with filling side dishes (rice, potatoes). None of it is prepared in any kind of cooking technique. It's just warmed up, more or less seasoned, and topped with a sauce. There's exactly one (!) soup, the most boring pumpkin soup ever. Dessert is rice pudding and semolina porridge. Those expecting interesting vegetarian dishes will be disappointed.

What more could you want? Organic and vegan. Even the grandchildren loved it.

I was looking for a vegan restaurant on my way from Cologne to Potsdam and found a great option in the Hiller in Hanover. Not only because it's roughly central, but also because the vegan buffet offered a great selection of delicious food at a good price. Full and happy, I can highly recommend it :)🌱

We had high expectations and were very disappointed. For €22.50, you expect at least exceptional food from a vegan restaurant, and more than just simple vegetables and stews that you can easily prepare at home. The drink prices were also outrageously high for the quantity and incomprehensible. It's a shame, as we expected more than simple "canteen fare." Furthermore, the buffet was dismantled before the restaurant closed, even though we were still eating. Furthermore, many of the dishes were dry and inedible. Unacceptable for the price!

If you're looking for a delicious restaurant with a quiet atmosphere for lunch, then this is the place for you. At lunchtime, they offer a very varied and delicious buffet with plenty of choices, including dessert. The service is incredibly sweet and attentive—they even pour you a drink. We'd love to come back!

We had lunch here. There was a buffet. It was delicious. The vegan mango cream mousse for dessert was amazing. The atmosphere was calm and relaxed. A bit over-decorated, but very nice. The service was very friendly. And a small black dog wanders around, enjoying watching the guests.

The food was so good I forgot to take pics. Wonderful food and service. They’ve even got Vegan cookies and cream dessert. Such a great restaurant. An absolute must when you come to Hannover.

Byliśmy pierwszy raz w restauracji Hiller. Skorzystaliśmy z opcji bufetu za 22,50 Euro. Było kilka dań i przystawek do wyboru, ale jedzenie naprawdę nie smakowało... Jedzenie było słone, nie można było wyczuć świeżych ziół czy przypraw. Mieliśmy wrażenie, że jesteśmy na stołówce. Zwracam zawsze uwagę na jakość dań i produktów, tu niestety nie znalazłam tego... Być może był to słabszy dzień kuchni. Niestety nie mogę polecić restauracji. Jeśli chodzi o plusy to bardzo miła obsługa oraz dobre białe wino. Również spokojna atmosfera, można spokojnie porozmawiać.

For €15, there's a super-diverse all-you-can-eat buffet where every dish was more delicious than the last. 😋 Guilt-free feasting, since everything is vegan. 🌱 The à la carte dishes were also delicious and creatively prepared. The cooking skills are top-notch, and the owner is a great guy. You're greeted by a cute dog and cat.

The buffet food was delicious. Unfortunately, after over an hour, there were still no fried potatoes, just wedges that weren't crispy. Despite the small number of guests, service sometimes took too long. We only got our drinks after a good 20-30 minutes, with the outside temperature at 32 degrees Celsius. (And there were only two other guests in the restaurant.) The gravy on the chicken leg was absolutely inedible, probably even burnt. That was really disgusting. Otherwise, though, the staff was friendly, the atmosphere was great, and the food was mostly good. Probably just having a bad day...

First of all: The food is really delicious. We had the buffet. Unfortunately, it seemed like there were only vegetables in various sauces, with rice or fries. Something we have every day at home, too. €22.50 for that on a Saturday is really hard to come by. To be honest, we were hoping for a bit more variety. But the rice pudding is the best I've ever eaten. 5/5 The service was practically nonexistent. It wasn't particularly busy, we were outside in 32-degree heat, and they didn't even ask if we wanted another drink. After two hours, I went inside and ordered myself. They didn't clear our plates either. It was so bad that we really didn't want to tip. It's a shame, really.

The Hiller is a vegan restaurant. They have a vegan buffet for lunch, which I highly recommend. I like to stop by when I'm on my way south or back north.

The buffet didn't really appeal to me but the main courses are good

We tried the buffet twice and were slightly disappointed both times. As a vegetarian, you're used to being fed side dishes, so when you visit a vegan restaurant, you should expect a "Wow, there are other ways to do it" experience. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case either time. Here, too, we felt like we were being fed boring and tasteless side dishes, and something was always missing – no bread with the soup, no patties for the main course, no potatoes with the kale, just rice – hmmm, not very fulfilling. We left full but unfortunately not very impressed. You could do so much more with spices and fresh herbs alone – what a pity! Update: On our last visits, the dishes were much tastier and more interestingly seasoned, and they kept refilling them. The value for money was good.

Good food but conventional. Fried rice and the whole range of boring vegetables that are supposed to serve as the top vegan frozen food. Really good vegan is different. But nice patties - convenience and nice pate - convenience. Beer only from the bottle. Service a disaster. Dirty abandoned tables with empty bottles, cups, plates. Opening an ordered bottle of beer takes 15 minutes. You pay 10 euros for 2 beers. The staff has very little interest in guests. Smartphone is more important. Ambiance is a matter of taste. From my point of view: a copy of the cheapest oriental aunt, but that doesn't bother me. What bothers me is the generally uncleaned condition of abandoned tables with dirt, grime and trinkets. Summary: I was there once around 1997. Food okay, service a disaster. 2025: Nothing learned there. But the “vegan concept” sells...

Since I don't usually eat an exclusively vegan diet, I was a bit skeptical at first - but was very positively surprised. My husband and I went there for the evening buffet. It was super tasty and absolutely recommended.

At Hiller we encountered very solid cuisine. All the dishes in the buffet were well done, the raw vegetables were very tasty, the vegetables in the main courses were cooked to perfection and seasoned in an interesting way. Fried potatoes are always one of those things on a buffet, they just get soft. A fine mango cream rounded off the menu. The wines go great with the food. The service was very friendly and attentive. There is a mix of styles in the restaurant, which probably reflects how the establishment has grown. The medieval food that was available as an alternative looked very appetizing, we will try it when we are here again on Tuesday. Thank you for a successful evening!

The food was very tasty. Everything was warm. Unfortunately we had to wait a bit long for the drinks. The waitress even forgot some drinks and we had to order again. But the food is very tasty.

Even though I am not a vegan, it was a nice experience and I enjoyed the food.

I was also a bit disappointed... fried potatoes that later turned into wedges, red cabbage, completely overcooked curry, the soy "meat" tasted overcooked, and the salad was difficult... Unfortunately, not everything was refilled for dessert, which was a shame. The best part was the oxygen (red wine).

Somewhat old-fashioned and rustic furnishings, not everything at the buffet was fully labeled, dishes were often missing and you had to wait a long time until they came back. And if you weren't quick right away, it was gone again. The taste was sometimes good and sometimes not so good. We didn't like the desserts at all. It was okay for the price, but we wouldn't come back again. The service was slightly distracted, our orders were taken but sometimes forgotten as were our requests.

We have been to Hiller several times, especially for the buffet. The selection is always delicious - especially the soy schnitzels! The staff is always super friendly and quick. I can only recommend it to everyone. A little more variety in the desserts would be nice, but not wild. We are always particularly happy about the homemade bread! Shortly before Christmas we also had the vegan chicken leg - very tasty and cool that you can order something like that without suffering any animal suffering, especially the chicken skin was great and the red cabbage was also very tasty!

Yesterday, as a newbie, I was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful, quiet ambience of this restaurant. As far as the food is concerned, I was expecting more pure vegetables such as: E.g. cauliflower, broccoli, carrots or similar, because my current diet means I don't eat potatoes or rice and the like, but I had to eat them here, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten anything to eat because there was a lot of mixed food on offer. Very unfortunate. At the salad buffet I was missing tomatoes and cucumbers or corn and a yogurt dressing. Everything was very vinegary. Then I asked myself what I should have eaten with the kale or red cabbage. But as I said, it was my first time there and maybe... Does it have something to do with the season and the current situation. The host is very friendly and has been doing this for several years now. My girlfriend, who is vegan, really liked it.

I'll leave the food unrated for now, as far as the service is concerned: complete disaster Long waiting time for drinks, food at the buffet is not refilled or, if at all, through suggestions from the guests. It's a shame, because the buffet is quite manageable and if half of the dishes are constantly empty, I don't see any point in the buffet. No one came to the table for new drinks all evening. Signs of the courts on Buffet didn't fit at the front and back.

Komme hier immer wieder gerne hin, auch weil das Personal mehr als freundlich ist. Da fühlt man sich einfach immer pudelwohl 😊👍 Und das beste ist, dass dieses Restaurant zu 100% vegan ist, mehr geht nicht!

We'll be back... because of the food and the great dog. That's exactly how I imagine the perfect restaurant and I was surprised.

As a non-vegan, I am always amazed at how delicious vegan food can taste. The atmosphere in the restaurant is cozy, the buffet is sufficient and varied (soup, bread, various main courses, side dishes, salads, desserts/cakes, ... everything is very tasty!), the soup is always "a poem" and also the á la carte Dishes are very tasty! [I've actually been there several times now, haven't tried everything in one visit :-) ] On the last visit (week week 02) the service was a bit "slow" - no offense, maybe there was a lot going on before us, at some point there will definitely be enough. I/we would definitely like to come back again.

We were delighted to visit a purely vegan restaurant - and a buffet too. Super. Unfortunately, despite the beautiful atmosphere, our joy didn't last long. Conclusion first: The restaurant won't see us a second time. It was too crowded, too loud and too expensive for what was on offer. Two thirds of the buffet was grazed by a large group who were also sitting right next to the buffet and gave me the impression that they had it exclusively for themselves. Meanwhile, the children who belonged to it were playing catch in the rest of the room. It was nice if the adults could talk in peace...while all the other guests were allowed to take part in the background noise. The first three containers I opened were empty. Refills were hesitant or not at all. Almost every other table that wanted to eat buffet also mentioned this deficiency to the staff. If you know there is a reservation for a larger group that evening, why is it such a surprise to the kitchen that they all empty the containers at the same time? The young kitchen staff were visibly overwhelmed, but that didn't stop the boss from asking at every table whether anyone would mind their dog running around the restaurant. No, it doesn't bother me, but the constantly empty rice pot does. Personally, I had too much salt in my food. And worst of all: you sit in front of used plates and empty glasses while the waitress calmly rolls up cutlery in napkins for the next day. Almost all guests had to order and pay at the counter. The two waitresses were annoyed and extremely short. I originally come from the catering industry. As I remember it, we made mise en place for the following day when there were hardly any guests left. Taking care of the paying guests present is somehow part of the job, right?! I had my espresso (which I also had to order at the counter) slammed onto the table in such a way that a sip (which is about a third of espresso) spilled out. I then refused to take a new one because I didn't want to put the lady in an even worse mood and I also bought the sugar myself from the counter (it was also too thin). A visit to the toilet couldn't be more refreshing either; a thorough wipe, a towel dispenser and a new (or screwed-on) toilet seat would be sensible investments. My conclusion is pretty clear: we definitely won't be coming back.

It was my first time in Hanover and I arrived at lunchtime. When I googled the restaurant was recommended to me. I was immediately impressed by the price and went for the lunch buffet. And what should I say? I'm thrilled and would go back immediately! A large selection of more German food, very tasty and nice salads. The music and the ambience are also very pleasant. I can only recommend it!! On my next visit, I will go again.

Excellent lunch buffet for a good price. There was a good selection of food for different tastes. Warm dishes, Lentil soup, salad bar and dessert options. The ambiance is very eclectic with warm vibes. Service was a bit slow, but friendly and knowledgeable, so not a big deal if you're not in a rush.

We were there for Christmas dinner yesterday. So first of all the beautiful, the ambience was very, very nice, that has to be mentioned. Friendly staff when they think about serving you or bringing you drinks that you have to wait a long time for. The buffet was delicious, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. The salads are fresh and the dessert is really delicious. The dishes are served fresh and different dishes are always offered. Unfortunately, you have to say that the places were not well distributed, you shouldn't place dogs directly at a buffet, even two, even if they are under the table but they still came out to shake themselves at every second person. Unfortunately the roulades weren't a hit; we discovered that the roulades were rather rubbery and the mustard was very dominant. Unfortunately, the meatballs also tasted a lot like Seitan, which was still very intense. I have made vegan roulades myself and think that they can be made much better. We had high hopes for the vegan roulades in particular and were really disappointed.

I came here wanting to eat a dish from the menu. Apparently this only works from 5 p.m., I was told by the waitress. So we had to go to the buffet. A note on the website would be nice. It was disappointing. We were served only after a good 20 minutes, even though only 5 tables were occupied. The food was generally okay, but was more like a side dish buffet than a lunch buffet. A lot of things are very salty. Unfortunately, the Brussels sprouts were over-seasoned and inedible. There were no real main courses like patties, seitan, stuffed vegetables or or or. Overall very sobering. There are also no signs or descriptions in front of the food. However, the desserts were all delicious and the atmosphere is pleasant. We're still not coming back.

We wanted to go out for a delicious vegan meal with a larger group at the end of November. The Hiller in Hanover was highly recommended to us. It is probably one of the first vegetarian restaurants in Hanover. Unfortunately the first impression wasn't particularly nice, everything seemed dusty and unkempt. It's also not particularly nice having your forearms stuck to the wobbly tables. We were kindly asked to go to the buffet as the drink service would take a while. The buffet, if you can call it that, was a disgrace. The salad buffet was the most tolerable, at least the cucumbers, peppers and bulgur were actually fresh, and there was also red cabbage, which was ok too. There were also two indefinable pastes or dressings that could not be assigned due to their consistency. Bread was also missing for a long time and when it came it was hard to bite, even for young people. Now to the main courses. You would expect fresh ingredients and crunchy vegetables in a vegan restaurant, but not here. There were seven containers of food that probably came from the weekend business and were now warmed up on Monday, but in fact everything was overcooked. Sometimes you couldn't tell what was in the containers. The food also lacked any concept. There was red cabbage, probably straight from the jar, without any spices or ingredients like apples. Then there was a white mass with green dots, which turned out to be cauliflower and broccoli mash at the table. Due to the poor lighting, the dishes on the buffet could not be seen. Both are clearly side dishes, but there was no main course to eat them with. Red cabbage just doesn't go well with curry soup. The plates were piled up on the tables because the only waitress, who was also the cook (heater) and had to bring the drinks, was completely overwhelmed. When asked whether the dishes could be removed, he replied, we don't see it as a big problem here, but you can also bring them to the counter. Maybe the Hiller was once a good restaurant. Or you shouldn't visit it on Monday when the leftovers from the weekend are being sold. We actually got our drinks as we ate dessert. The dessert was really very good.

Was here for my employer's Christmas party. Food from the buffet was okay. Service underground. Waited 90 minutes for drinks. Checked with service every ten minutes. Finally we got supplies at the kiosk around the corner. I've never experienced anything like this before.

Very disappointed! Ordered vegan chicken thighs and waited an hour for the food (it wasn't particularly busy). The food was lukewarm, the red cabbage was tasteless and the rest was too salty. There was a wooden bone in the chicken leg that was already past its best. The price-performance ratio doesn't fit, 50€ for 2 main courses and 2 non-alcoholic drinks, far too expensive for the poor quality. The service was slow, unfriendly, inattentive and incorrectly allocated reserved tables. The menu online, in the restaurant and at the door were different and there was still only one thing. On a weekday there was only one main course, everything else was out. The view into the kitchen was unpleasant, dirty floors and a lot of other dirt.

I come to this restaurant with my granddaughter at least once a year and we have a good time. This time we took the buffet offer again and we were not disappointed. Everything was so delicious, the salads, the different vegetables, the soy slices, the tagliatelle, potatoes, the desserts and so on. Yes, it tasted really good and we were more than full. We'll definitely be back next year, greetings from Schaumburger Land :-)

There was a lunch buffet for 15 euros per person, we were invited. The food was very good. Bread a bit greasy and the fried potatoes also looked quite greasy.

Me and my girlfriend went to the lunch buffet today, it was incredibly delicious! Great desserts, especially the mango cream... Fantastic food, good selection of dishes, delicious drinks, the owner very accommodating and incredibly friendly! The dog in the restaurant was really cute. I definitely recommend the restaurant and will gladly come again myself. A dream even for non-vegans.

Very tasty food; Lunch buffet very good

I used to be a regular here. The food was delicious, simply unbeatable. Today I stopped by Hiller after a long time and was so excited about the fine taste. Unfortunately I was bitterly disappointed. At lunchtime there is now only a buffet. The taste is bland and without any kick. Instead, the mushy ratatouille was floating in the oil. The special thing that previously distinguished Hiller has been completely lost. Too bad

Very nice cozy restaurant with great food. We had the buffet and there really is something for everyone. I enjoyed everything very much. And it's really very cozy and specially furnished. If we're in Hanover again, I'll be happy to come back.

It was our first visit to Restaurant Hiller. Our daughter invited us there. A great atmosphere, the boss is very friendly and the employees are very accommodating. The food was very tasty and the wines tasted very good.

After a VERY disappointing buffet evening at the beginning of the year, another try today. The service was slow and inattentive. So the service hasn't improved. The main course came very shortly after the starter, which was not even half eaten. An absolute no-go. The 'skin' of the chicken leg was partly inseparable with a knife. The fried potatoes were far from crispy, some large pieces were mushy inside and very moist. Some of the onion pieces weren't even translucent. The Seitan Schnitzel was tasty and had a good consistency. The Edek mushroom ragout was mediocre and contained a few pieces that weren't chewable - reminded me of a frozen mix from a discount store that I would never buy again. We should have given each other the tiramisu. Since the waitress never looked over at us and didn't respond when she did, I went to the counter when we wanted to pay. When we asked whether it was tasty, we only responded briefly; as expected, no questions were asked. It's a shame, I still have very fond memories of Hiller. We went - despite slow and completely unprofessional service - because the food was so delicious. Unfortunately, this has no longer been the case for a few years.

Super tasty and large selection of vegan dishes. Great ambience and very nice service. Definitely take a look!!! The lunch buffet was excellent!!

Went here with a friend. We choose the buffet. Lots of different kinds of food. Soup, potatoes, veggies, salads, dessert. Nice atmosphere.

We chose the buffet and were satisfied with our fill. I can't rate the dessert as it was late and had already run out. Which I also think is ok - less disposal. Price-performance is good. Service is friendly, but I found the ambience at reception to be a bit restless.

Lunch in the afternoon in a relaxed atmosphere. The buffet had many simple but very well-seasoned dishes, all regional and seasonal. We'd love to come back!

Totalreinfall! Bedienung sah uns zwar, aber brachte keine Speiskarten, habe ich nach 10 Min. selbst geholt. Büffet: Speisen zerkocht und wenig originell, vor allem lauwarm, Bratkartoffeln sogar kalt. Mit 22,50€ völlig überteuert. Am Nachbartisch war Decke zur Hälfte umgeschlagen, Besteck war darauf verstreut, das wurde während unseres ganzen Aufenthalts nicht in Ordnung gebracht. Es roch penetrant im Lokal nach Kohl, offensichtlich keine Lüftung. Wir können nur abraten.

Great atmosphere, friendly service and very good food

Super delicious! We were very hungry, so the all-you-can-eat buffet was just right, no waiting, just eat straight away. I can only recommend Hiller!
