Looking to spend a pleasant evening in a cozy atmosphere with good food? Then you've come to the right place. The service could be a little better, but that doesn't detract from the very pleasant atmosphere. Therefore, I can highly recommend a visit here.

First time here, but I'll definitely be back soon. The seating was lovely and the food was delicious. Thank you!

From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by the restaurant's Mediterranean flair – white tablecloths, lovingly set tables, and a hint of a holiday feeling under red parasols. The ambiance is inviting, relaxed, and yet special. The service was attentive, warm, and with genuine Italian hospitality – I'd particularly like to emphasize how understandingly and conscientiously my gluten-free diet was accommodated. Without a fuss, but with genuine care – this creates trust and relaxation. And the food? A dream! A place to return, dream, and enjoy – even (and especially) with special dietary requirements. Grazie mille – we'll be back! ✨🍷🍴

The food is delicious. The restaurant looks great, and the service was excellent.

The food was truly delicious and flavorful on both visits. Unfortunately, this positive impression was somewhat dampened by the service. On both visits, the flow at the table was quite chaotic: Orders were repeatedly forgotten, the drink service was irregular and slow, and the timing of the food was unfortunate – some of the table had already finished eating while others were still waiting for their food. Furthermore, the tables were already being cleared while the food was still being eaten. While the service seems to be trying, it unfortunately can't quite keep up with the quality of the food.

We've been coming here regularly for years to celebrate with family. Everything has always been delicious, the staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is family-friendly, and the prices are reasonable. We're always happy to come back.

We've enjoyed being guests here for years. Over the past year, not only has the food quality declined significantly, but the service has become downright abysmal. Untrained, inattentive staff, forgetting orders, if you even get the chance to order. This was our last visit for a while. I hope the team can turn things around and make Vecchio Mulino one of the region's top culinary destinations again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A true piece of Italy! We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening – the service was warm, attentive, and very professional. Even the appetizers were a highlight: The vitello tonnato was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the truffle carpaccio was simply divine. The main course was homemade tagliatelle – al dente, with an incredibly aromatic sauce. You can feel the love that goes into the cooking here. We'll definitely be back!

The food is truly delicious and of high quality. We've eaten the pizza and pasta dishes several times. The service, however, is truly abysmal. Long waits, unfriendly manners, and sometimes even questionable statements regarding reservations: "There were no more tables available," which was obviously not correct. (We waited.) They were also very inattentive when it came to empty drinks. The staff could really use a course or training on restaurant etiquette.

What a shame. The kitchen delivers. Fried octopus, rump steak cooked to perfection, great pizzas and delicious desserts... absolutely recommended! But the service, my goodness! The lady at the beginning was very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, her colleague took over. Completely uncommunicative and inattentive. We had to order a second bottle of wine at the bar because no waiter came to the table. And we were only able to order dessert because we approached the waiter ourselves. Very disappointing. To top it all off, the bill was brought to the table shortly before 10 p.m. without any warning because they were about to close. Without asking whether a digestif would be desired or anything like that. I've never experienced that before. We had guests with us, so you definitely imagine the service to be different. Perhaps the waiter should work in the warehouse, where he doesn't have to deal with people. Great food, terrible service. A shame.

We were a large group at the restaurant – and even though both upstairs and downstairs were full, the service was absolutely flawless. The staff were super friendly, attentive, and very prompt despite the hustle and bustle. Our server was particularly nice and checked several times to see if everything was okay – truly attentive service! The food was also top-notch: very tasty and arrived surprisingly quickly, which is truly remarkable considering the restaurant was at capacity. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable visit – we'll definitely be back!

I've been to this restaurant twice now, and unfortunately, the service was very slow and inattentive both times. On the last visit, we had to wait eight minutes before we were even greeted and shown to our table. After that, it took another 30 minutes to get the menu and order our drinks. The food itself arrived quickly – the starter was good, and the dessert was even very good. However, the overall slow and unattentive service marred the overall impression. Especially in a crowded restaurant, the staff should be better organized. These days, I expect much more efficient service in a restaurant. Overall, a mixed experience – good food, but unfortunately with significant weaknesses in the service.

I don't really know how to describe it, the food is mediocre but relatively cheap for this region, the atmosphere is very old and not well maintained outside, the service is unfortunately not good. We always have to wait at the entrance and at the table for a long time until someone comes, somehow you don't feel welcome, very older crowd there

Great Italian restaurant, apart from pasta there are meat dishes, fish dishes and great wines and also special quality glass wines. The regional restaurants are usually closed at the beginning of the week, but not Vecchio Mulino. It has optimal opening times. Great experience. Thank you.

We ate here a few times. The food was very good every time. You sit very nicely. Both indoors and outdoors. Unfortunately, the service was poor on the last two visits. It takes a long time for a condition to come with the menu. It takes a long time for someone to come to take the order. Unfortunately, this continues. Orders can be forgotten or something is recorded incorrectly. Unfortunately, too often here. It's a shame that the service ruins the overall impression.

The food was very, very tasty and also generous in size. The spaghetti carbonara is particularly noteworthy here. Despite the slightly longer journey for us, we are happy to take this trip to eat there.

Visited spontaneously on Easter Sunday at noon around 2:20 p.m. Easter menu, €54. No waiting time for the food. Starter, very creative, then rump steak and delicious dessert. Sorry, forgot the names of the dishes. Everything tasted excellent. Service was individual and very friendly.

The hospitality we lived here and the service is excellent, I would have liked to give it 6 out of 5 stars. We were there last night and after dinner my husband not only received an apology from the kitchen because his food wasn't what he ordered (we hadn't noticed right away and didn't say anything), but also a tiramisu on the house and two small glasses of Italian specialties. That's what I call service, thank you again for that and we'll be back because everything was delicious and the price-performance ratio was also right. We had a lovely evening.

The service is good. The food below average. The kitchen should hold off on ringing the bell a bit... the aggressive and constant ringing is annoying. Our main course was sent straight after the starter because the kitchen was in a hurry. As a service provider it doesn't work at all. Edit: we arrived at 1:30! They could have told us that the kitchen was closed and we would have left instead of being processed like that. Not very professional. Sales are more important than happy guests. We won't come back…

We were at the Mulino in Nieder-Olm for the first time and had a very nice evening. The food was really tasty and freshly prepared. The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant and cozy, you feel comfortable. We also found the service particularly nice – the waiters were attentive and friendly. Overall, a successful visit, we would be happy to come back.

We were there with a group (March 21, 2025). On the one hand, it was very loud upstairs (which was due to the many guests and is therefore ok). However, even in mid-March it was far too warm in the upstairs dining room. I had a pizza Regina. The pizza was served lukewarm. The base was soggy in the middle and lacked any spice in the taste.

The food was good, unfortunately the service was poor The staff - students were unfortunately very poorly trained. After the starter, the cutlery was taken away, which was ok. Then for the main course there was no cutlery on the table and it took a while until we got cutlery. It went on like this the entire evening

Mein Freund und ich haben unseren Jahrestag hier verbracht und waren rundum begeistert! Der romantische Flair mit dem rustikalen Charme lässt die „Alte Mühle“ in neuem Glanz erstrahlen. Das Essen war von Vorspeise bis Dessert der Knaller und absolut unschlagbar. Auch die Bedienungen waren sehr zuvorkommend und haben unseren Abend perfekt gemacht. Wir kommen wieder!
