We have rediscovered Vecchio Mulino for about two years now and go there more often. There wasn't even a complaint. In the summer I like to be outside and otherwise I also like to be inside. Nice atmosphere, nice service and always very friendly. And another plus point is the affordable prices. We really enjoy coming here.

On Saturday evening there was exceptional food and staff. We sat upstairs in a large group. Everyone was very well served. Very nice restaurant and very good service. We'll be back!!

We had a very nice evening with great food. The restaurant is comfortably furnished and we felt very comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive. To shorten the waiting time, we were served bread with oil and at the end there was a small dessert and a schnapps or espresso on the house. We'll definitely go there again!

Highly recommended, only the service (the male one) takes a lot of getting used to. They don't know what to do. The two women, on the other hand, were great, high praise, more of them. All in all a very good Italian, almost like it used to be in the 80s and 90s. Very happy again.

We had Pizza Gamberi and Pizza Vecchio Mulino, which were halved in the kitchen at our request and divided onto two plates. Both tasted very good! The prices for both food and drinks are pleasantly moderate. Unfortunately, you always have to call Drn Service and unfortunately usually several times to express a request. There is definitely a need for training here! The ambience is quite nice, but I liked the previous one better with the red and white checkered tablecloths. And the tables are too narrow for my taste, especially if you want to have a more private conversation as a couple.

We visited today and felt very comfortable as soon as we entered the restaurant. The menu offers a wonderful selection of authentic and seasonal dishes. The quality is particularly noteworthy – everything tastes delicious. The service was very attentive and warm without being intrusive. Individual requests were even taken into account, which made the visit even more pleasant. A big compliment for the dessert too: the pumpkin panna cotta was perfect and rounded off the lovely girls' evening. We'll definitely be back!

Francesco, Kristina and Samet were extremely nice this evening. You must have had a good day. The food and the ambience were really very pleasant and we had a wonderful evening. There was also various free grappa. All in all, absolutely recommended, but you should reserve in advance.

We were there twice, once as a couple, once as a group of four, and everyone was very satisfied afterwards, the food was good and inexpensive, the atmosphere was cozy. There was a bit of a problem with the service. Friendly, but a bit confused, brought the wrong thing twice. But they made up for it afterwards with free dessert, so it was totally ok. Can be recommended without reservation.

“Attracted” by the great Instagram posts, we tested the restaurant today as a family. And we'll definitely be back! The menu has a good selection of dishes, and it's nice that it's not just pasta and pizza, but also great Italian fish and meat dishes. The daily menu is also really tasty and we ordered, among other things, pasta with truffle ricotta in parmesan sauce, as well as monkfish with mussels in white wine sauce. Everything tasted sensational and was really very, very plentiful for the price!! Service was very nice and accommodating. There was also a wonderful dessert (pumpkin panna cotta) on the house. Thanks! Gladly again and full rating.

Nice experience, Good pizza and good waiters

Leider müssen wir die teils negativen Bewertungen hier bestätigen: Wir waren letzten Sonntag zu einer Geburtstagsfeier eingeladen, 16 Personen, 2 davon Kinder. Das Einzige, was wirklich gut bis sehr gut war, war das Essen. Die Organisation war eine einzige Katastrophe. Auf der Webseite wird explizit für Feiern aller Art geworben – wenn man eine gelungene und entspannte Feier haben möchte, sollte es anders funktionieren. Aber der Reihe nach: Bereits eine Woche zuvor war die Gastgeberin vor Ort, um mit dem Inhaber Ihre Wünsche zu besprechen. Sie wollte gerne, dass zur Begrüßung der Gäste gefüllte Sektgläser und Bruscetta bereitstehen, damit man gleich auf den runden Geburtstag anstoßen kann. Zunächst wurde Ihre Reservierung nicht gefunden - ob sie vielleicht wo anders angerufen habe, wurde sie gefragt. Ihr Wunsch nach dem Begrüßungssekt wurde abgewiesen mit der Begründung, die Gäste sollen selbst entscheiden, was sie trinken möchten. Es wäre für das junge Servicepersonal einfacher gewesen, der/die Inhaber/in hätte dem Wunsch entsprochen, denn mit den 16 Leutchen und den Tagesgästen, die nach und nach kamen, war das Servicepersonal dann leider total überfordert. Zwar wurden die Getränke zum Aperitif recht zügig aufgenommen und die ersten 7-8 Gläser auch zügig gebracht, aber danach hatte man uns anscheinend vergessen. Zwischendurch wurden wir schon nach dem Essen gefragt, wobei wir darauf hingewiesen haben, dass noch nicht alle Gäste ein Glas zum Anstoßen haben. Nach zweimaligem Bitten kamen dann recht schleppend die restlichen, ungleichmäßig eingeschenkten Gläser Sekt + Secco und man konnte endlich anstoßen. Anstatt, wie üblich, vor dem Essen die Getränke aufzunehmen, wurden gleich nach den gewünschten Speisen gefragt und die Wünsche wurden vom doch recht jungen, aber bis dahin noch bemühten(*) Servicepersonal handschriftlich aufgenommen. Anmerkung: Das geht mittlerweile schon elektronisch, dann kommt die Bestellung auch so in der Küche und wieder beim Gast an, wie sie der Gast aufgegeben hat. Die Getränke haben wir dann noch selbstständig hinterher bestellt, gefragt hat danach niemand. Diesbezüglich kann man das Servicepersonal gern aufklären, dass an den Getränken mehr verdient wird als am Essen 😊 und diese auch die Wartezeit bis zum Essen überbrücken. Die Wartezeit für die ersten Essen, die ankamen, war angemessen, leider ging es dann wieder sehr lückenhaft weiter. Darüber könnte man evtl. hinwegsehen, es kann ja sein, dass nur eine Person in der Küche ist, dann ist es schwer, 16 Gerichte zeitgleich beim Gast zu haben. So viel zum Verständnis unsererseits. Wir mussten wieder nachfragen, ob denn der Rest der Gäste noch sein Essen bekommt, daraufhin wurden etwas hektisch teils falsche Gerichte gebracht und unsere Reklamation mit dem Hinweis beantwortet, das hätten wir so bestellt. Wir sind wirklich lange freundlich geblieben, aber irgendwann ist jede Geduld erschöpft. Ein Ehepaar hat sich sein Gericht geteilt, weil eines falsch kam und das zweite vergessen wurde, ein Gast hat das falsche Gericht statt dem Bestellten gegessen und das letzte Hauptgericht wurde gebracht, als die Gäste, die schon gegessen hatten, bereits nach Dessert gefragt wurden. Sowas ist schon im normalen Betrieb unmöglich – eine Hochzeit oder eine größere Feier möchte man sich da gar nicht vorstellen! Zum Essen: Nudelgerichte alle gut bis sehr gut. Salimbocca alla romana sehr gut, die „Kalbsmedallions“ waren leider keine Medallions, sondern ebenfalls Schnitzel, die Beilage zum Fleisch lt. Karte „Marktgemüse und Rosmarinkartoffeln“ ist eine recht kleine Portion, der Aufpreis von 6,90€ für Pasta statt Kartoffeln steht in keiner Relation. Das Rumpsteak hat für den Preis den Namen nicht verdient, ein unappetitliches Stück Fleisch mit einer unnötigen Deko aus angewelktem Rucola – ich hätte es zurückgehen lassen. (*) Die beiden jungen Damen und der junge Mann im Service, der wenig bis kein Deutsch verstand, waren anfänglich wirklich freundlich und bemüht. Anscheinend hat ihnen aber nie jemand gezeigt, wie der Service am Gast wirklich funktioniert. Auch hat die Freundlichkeit mit zunehmender Anforderung dann leider abgenommen, es hat sich zu keiner Zeit irgendjemand für irgendwas entschuldigt, weder für die verspäteten Getränke, noch für das Chaos beim Essen. Das ist schade, denn aus berechtigter Kritik kann und sollte man auch lernen. Sehr schade war es vor allem für die Gastgeberin, die sich auf einen schönen Mittag im Kreise Ihrer Freunde gefreut hat und dann so enttäuscht wurde. Trotz der wirklich gutaussehenden Pizzen wird vermutlich keiner der 16 Gäste wiederkommen.

We were invited to a birthday party last Sunday, 16 people, 2 of them children. The only thing that was really good to very good was the food. The organization was a complete disaster. The hostess was there a week before to discuss your wishes with the owner. She wanted filled champagne glasses and bruscetta to be ready to welcome the guests so that they could toast the big birthday straight away. Unfortunately, this request was rejected on the grounds that the guests should decide for themselves what they would like to drink. It would have been easier for the young service staff if the owner had complied with their wishes, because with the 16 people and the day guests who gradually arrived, the service staff was unfortunately completely overwhelmed. The drinks for the aperitif were taken up quite quickly and the first 7-8 glasses were brought quickly, but after that we seemed to have been forgotten. In between we were asked about the food and we pointed out that not all guests had a glass to toast with. After asking twice, the remaining glasses of champagne + Secco arrived quite slowly and we could finally toast. Instead of picking up the drinks before eating, as was usual, people immediately asked about the dishes they wanted and the requests were recorded by hand by the service staff, who were quite young but had previously tried hard(*). Note: This can now be done electronically, so the order arrives in the kitchen and back at the guest in the same way the guest placed it. We then ordered the drinks ourselves afterwards, but no one asked about them. The waiting time for the first meals to arrive was reasonable, but unfortunately it continued to be very patchy. You could perhaps overlook this, as there may only be one person in the kitchen, which would make it difficult to serve 16 dishes at the same time. So much for understanding on our part. We had to ask again whether the rest of the guests were still getting their food. As a result, some of the wrong dishes were brought out in a somewhat hectic manner and our complaint was answered by saying that that was what we had ordered. We stayed friendly for a really long time, but at some point all patience runs out. A couple shared their dish because one was wrong and the second was forgotten, a guest ate the wrong dish instead of what was ordered, and the last main course was brought when the guests who had already eaten were already asking for dessert. Something like that is impossible in normal operations - you wouldn't even want to imagine a wedding or a larger celebration! For food: Pasta dishes were all good to very good. Salimbocca alla romana was very good, the “veal medallions” were unfortunately not medallions, but also schnitzel, the side dish for the meat according to the menu “market vegetables and rosemary potatoes” is a very small portion, the surcharge of €6.90 for pasta instead of potatoes is included no relation. The rump steak didn't deserve the name for the price, an unappetizing piece of meat with an unnecessary decoration of wilted rocket - I would have sent it back. (*) The two young ladies and the young man in service, who understood little to no German, were initially really friendly and helpful. Apparently no one has ever shown them how customer service really works. Unfortunately, the friendliness also decreased as the demands increased; at no time did anyone apologize for anything, neither for the late drinks nor for the chaos during the meal. That's a shame, because you can and should learn from legitimate criticism. It was a real shame, especially for the hostess, who was looking forward to a nice lunch with her friends and was then so disappointed. Despite the really good-looking pizzas, none of the 16 guests will probably come back.

We wanted to celebrate my godmother's big birthday (with prior reservation!!). We were invited to lunch. My aunt was there a few minutes in advance to have the opportunity to discuss a few things with the service - unfortunately this only worked mediocrely - that's where the common thread that ran through the entire lunch began. At the beginning we wanted to toast the birthday child with champagne. By the time the last guest had their glass, over 20 minutes had already passed! The restaurant was neither fully booked, nor did we think there was any reason why we had to wait so long for around 15 glasses of champagne. After we were finally able to toast together, the empty glasses were not cleared away (we did that ourselves), nor were we asked for any additional drinks! When we were able to order our drinks in between, a mess began here too - the worst and most unpleasant moment was when two non-alcoholic and "normal" wheat beers were mixed up when served. (This can lead to very big difficulties under certain circumstances.) After asking, the waiter seemed completely overwhelmed and his colleague came running to prevent anything worse from happening. The food was taken - it has to be said that there were no special requests from us at the table - it was simply ordered from the menu! Here too there were extremely long waiting times! In addition, the wrong food was brought - when we asked, there was a discussion with us at the table - we would have ordered it that way, the mistake was ours - she would have read everything out again after ordering! The wrong dish was simply put in front of us and our table was left! Absolute no go! The last dish was served when the first guests had already finished their main course... very unpleasant for everyone at the table - and especially for the birthday child, who would have liked a relaxed and nice lunch for everyone! No food was brought to us at all, so two guests shared one plate! Also an absolute NO GO! Mistakes happen and sometimes there's just something wrong with it, BUT... you should be able to own up to it, apologize briefly and not argue with the guest at the table about who did something wrong here. The reservation for this larger group was known for a long time, so they could have prepared well. The wishes of the (paying) birthday child were clearly formulated! After the payment was made, we all still hoped that a small gesture, such as a short apology, a small bottle of wine, or a free drink for the birthday child, would try to leave a more positive impression...but Unfortunately nothing came! Conclusion: The quality of the food was good, as was the ambience, but when the birthday child said: "Well, we've got that behind us now!" After lunch, that's certainly not the impression this restaurant wants to leave with its paying guests! The next family celebration will most likely not be celebrated there! Too bad!

Was invited to a birthday party at Vecchio Mulino today. The hostess wanted to have a glass of Secco prepared in advance for each invited guest so that they could toast together. This was rejected by an employee in an unfriendly tone on the grounds that he wanted to let each guest decide for themselves what they wanted to drink. When all the guests were present and the secco was ordered, the first half came relatively quickly and the second half only came after about 20 minutes and we asked twice, so that we were only able to toast the birthday child together after about half an hour. The food orders were then taken quickly and the first meals arrived quite promptly, although some of the dishes were incorrect and not ordered. After that, things progressed very slowly. A couple ended up sharing a meal and skipping the second dish. The food delivered was consistently good, including the dessert, which thank God everything worked out. In retrospect, I feel very sorry for the hostess because she was looking forward to this day and wanted to spend a few nice and happy hours with her guests. However, the overall circumstances significantly marred the stay at Vecchio Mulino.
