Vatra Brașov in Augsburg

Wir würden am Abend vor diesem Laden angesprochen, von einer etwas älteren Dame(Ü60). Sie sei doch neu in der Stadt und habe drei kleine Kinder, und möchte in diesem kleinen Lokal etwas essen gehen. Sie sprach Englisch und betonte, dass sie kein Bargeld haben möchte. Ihre Bitte war, Wir sollen doch in den Laden gehen und ihr Essen dort per EC bezahlen. Wir boten ihr an, ein klein wenig Bargeld geben zu können, um Essen einkaufen zu können. Das wurde erst vehement verneint, und dann doch ganz schnell auf das Angebot vom Bargeld ein zu gehen( welches ihr am Ende noch zu wenig war). Ich vermute ganz stark, dass dies ein billiger Trick ist, um für Cashflow hier zu sorgen..

Ich kann nicht mehr Sterne vergeben. Nach 30 Minuten Wartezeit kam nicht einmal eine Speisekarte auf den Tisch, sodass ich wenigstens hätte sehen können, was draufsteht. Bestellen konnte ich wohl gar nicht! Vielleicht, weil ich allein am Tisch war, spielt ein einzelner Gast keine Rolle? Ich habe keine Ahnung, wie das Essen schmeckt, da ich nicht einmal die Speisekarte sehen, geschweige denn bestellen konnte. Es ist eine Schande, dass zukünftige Gäste so behandelt werden.

Wir waren im Vatra und sind sehr begeistert. Das Essen war hervorragend, frisch zubereitet und voller Geschmack. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und typisch rumänisch, man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Das Personal war freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr herzlich. Alles war bestens organisiert und wir haben unseren Besuch sehr genossen. Wir kommen gerne wieder und können dieses Restaurant nur weiterempfehlen.

Leckeres Essen zu vernünftigen Preisen

Essen war sehr gut. Mici mit Pommes und Vorspeise Polenta mit käse. Service war freundlich und schnell. Ambiente ist nett.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, Ich habe Suppe de Perisoare gegessen und Sarmale mit Mamaliga, mein Partner hat Mamaliga mit branza und Mititei mit Pommes gegessen es hat Ihm auch sehr gut geschmeckt, wir würden das Restaurant weiter Empfehlen.

Dieses Restaurant ist etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuß vom Rathaus entfernt. Die Einrichtung ist sehr schön und respektiert die rumänische Tradition. Die Bedienung am Tisch ist schnell und aufmerksam. Die Preise sind nicht hoch. Die Gerichte sind lecker und reichlich. Die Toiletten sind sehr sauber. Insgesamt zufriedenstellend.

Bei meiner Ankunft war ich vom Dekor, dem Ambiente und den freundlichen Bedienungen begeistert. Anschließend wurde mir ein dreigängiges Menü serviert, das hervorragend zubereitet war. Die traditionellen Gerichte wurden wie früher zubereitet, die Portionen waren großzügig, reichhaltig und sehr sättigend. Auch das Dessert war köstlich. Vom herzlichen Empfang über den tadellosen Service und die Sauberkeit bis hin zum köstlichen Essen, dem Ambiente und dem Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis – einfach alles war perfekt. Im Vergleich zu vielen anderen rumänischen Restaurants fand ich den Preis sogar günstig, und das ist keine Übertreibung! Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder! ☝💞🇹🇩💎🥂🙏

Das Essen war sehr lecker und authentisch. Die Sarmale waren hervorragend gewürzt und erinnerten wirklich an hausgemachtes Essen. Die Suppe war ebenfalls sehr gut und geschmackvoll. Preis-Leistung stimmt.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. The portions are large and very reasonably priced. Good, home style, Romanian dishes. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is that the service could have been better. Quite slow, didn't really come to the table and see if we wanted to order more drinks etc. Otherwise quite good.

My business partners and I enjoyed the food immensely. I'm from the area near Brasov and found the food to be mostly quite authentic. The restaurant is attractively decorated. However, the service, in my opinion, was absolutely abysmal. It was empty, yet the young waitress came by extremely rarely, barely understood us, and was unpolite.

This review is an average of several impressions/experiences from the past few years, triggered by my "bad experience" the day before yesterday: For many years, I have enjoyed visiting Augsburg, alone or with foreign guests, for day trips, while passing through Franconia, or for an overnight stay. I always enjoy going to 'Vatra Brașov' because I mostly like the ambiance and food, or for takeaway (on the way home to southern Bavaria) and at various times of the day. The food largely reflects the taste of the dishes my Romanian father (*1925 in Cluj-Napoca, grew up in Bucharest - 2019 in Munich) - with his father's Augsburg grandmother - as well as his Romanian-Romanian mother and her family cooked for me/us in Romania and the various countries in which we once lived. Mind you, there are many other, also very fine, but elaborate, dishes (such as Limbă or iepure cu Măsline, colivă, curcan cu caise si prune caramelizate, morun [fish], ...) that you can order in very few, if any, restaurants. The service is usually friendly and prompt, but a waitress varies in her friendliness/mood/mood... which may also be due to my demands and questions, or the occasional staff shortage. In the past, I have particularly noticed a young, tall, slim (temporary?) waiter at Easter and a short, young cook with limited German skills (my Romanian has become abysmal since the death [in 1997] of my grandmother from Breaza/Prahova... although I never formally learned it) who were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is easily, quickly, and conveniently accessible on foot from the old town center (even for me, who has a slight mobility disability); parking isn't always available near the restaurant. What really annoyed me, however, last Sunday, when I wanted to eat at 'V. B.' in the evening, was that I was standing in front of a dark restaurant whose door (and NOT ON THE INTERNET, WHICH WOULD HAVE TAKEN 5 MINUTES!!!) said "...HOLIDAY until...". The website hadn't uploaded before and since, several times. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I was SO looking forward to the Romanian food, but for the first time, I hadn't called in advance, because the answering machine always said "There's still room for YOU...", or the person answering the phone barely spoke/understood German, or it was very loud in the restaurant. So I had a delicious meal outside at the Vietnamese restaurant 'S. V.' around the corner. When 'V. B.' reopens in September (?), I'll definitely call ahead! Until then, I'll have to make do with 'C. R.' at IKEA Eching.

Amazing Romanian restaurant with a great variety of traditional dishes. Everything we tried was super tasty, with generous portions and lots of delicious meat. The atmosphere has a nice local touch, full of Romanian charm. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend if you want to enjoy authentic Romanian food!

The starter plate is enough for two people: delicious bacon, which is eaten with red onions, eggplant cream and other Romanian specialties. We enjoyed the refreshingly sour cabbage rolls and the tender but crispy schnitzel. The donuts for dessert are also enough for two people, not super sweet, but rich. The service was very friendly. It was also very nice that, at our request, the volume of the live music was reduced to a comfortable level for a christening celebration that lasted longer than planned!

Ich bin sehr wählerisch, aber seit Jahren habe nicht besser gegessen. Frisches und leckeres Essen zu erschwinglichen Preisen. Rumänisches Restaurant mit traditioneller Atmosphäre und angenehmem Ambiente, alles sehr sauber und ordentlich. Der Kellner war schnell, höflich und kompetent. Das Essen war fast so, als wäre man Privatgast bei jemandem. Ich konnte keine Fotos machen, weil ich damit beschäftigt war, das Essen zu genießen

Great Romanian food. Typical atmosphere. Everything neat. Only the service was a bit inattentive. Even though there wasn't much going on, we waited a long time. All in all, it's worth it because of the good food.

Anyone who likes home-style cooking is well catered for here. Good cuisine and everything freshly prepared. Donuts are like a big donut with sour cream and cherry jam. It's best not to plan a big program afterwards.

Like home...! After a morning of walking, I accidentally discovered the restaurant. Happy, I entered, took a seat and received the menu. After 20 minutes I left because no one came to take the order, even though there was only one occupied table. We don't know the quality of the food and we don't have the curiosity anymore.

Food was very good. The service is absolutely subpar. Once and never again. We were more or less thrown out because the waitress didn't do her job. First nothing happens for 40 minutes, then dessert takes forever and comes without cutlery. You can also die of thirst there because no one comes and asks. And because everything took so long and a comedian came afterwards, we were thrown out of the restaurant loudly and angrily. Very unfortunate...

0 stars unfortunately not possible!!! Underground service!!!!! When we made the reservation by phone, it was discussed that we only had two hours to eat because there was a stand-up comedian that evening. Which was completely fine for us. We had to wait 30 minutes before we could order our drinks and food. We have already ordered the desserts here as we would have had to wait another 20 minutes for them. After another 45 minutes the food finally came. Super small portions and completely overpriced. Our table was completely ignored. No new drinks were brought, the table was not cleared, and cutlery was never given for dessert, even when asked. Of the 2 hours available to us, we spent 1.5 hours waiting. We were no longer allowed to finish our drinks because we were loudly thrown out of the restaurant with the threat of having to pay an extra €20 per person for the show. With the emphasis, even if we don't understand the language at all. The entire staff then stood together and complained about us. ONCE AND NEVER AGAIN

Authentic romanian style meals prepared and served by a family who are happy to share their culture and cuisine. It definitely feels like "coming home to Grandma's", or "Heimat" as they say in German.

This is where nostalgia, coziness and good food come together. Even the little ones are catered for - there is a good games corner. A look into the kitchen reveals...cleanliness. If you can speak some English, you can have a good time here. Normal prices.

There is nothing traditional about the food. It's something taken by recipe platforms. Just kidding. The patron serves at home first and local when how. The waitress passed by the empty pint twice as there were 4 people. The soup is long and juicy. The sarmals are broken to fill the plate. Sweet cabbage salad cut with an ax and so hard that even a fork won't fit. No vinegar. Canned white and red bean stew.☺️☺️☺️. Go Romania

The soup of perisiore is very good, but the mitites are very good but too little, only 3 pieces and a lot of potatoes. Very nice restaurant.

We discovered this very authentic Romanian restaurant completely by chance. There are many traditional Romanian dishes on the menu. The interior is very cozy, you could almost think you are in Romania. We ate soups, which were very tasty. Unfortunately there was no Romanian liquor. But wines and beers from Romania. The service was friendly, but a bit reserved. We'd love to come back!

Wir waren mit der Familie hier zu Gast und erlebten einen sehr schönen Abend. Als Vorspeise nahmen wir die "gemischte Vorspeise", die uns sehr gut schmeckte. Hauptspeisen waren Sarmale (Kraut war erwas wenig sauer), panierter Kaskaval (Käse - sehr sehr lecker) und Tocanița (rum. Geschnetzeltes - äußerst lecker). Gemeinsam probierten wir am Ende einen Papanaşi (rum. Krapfen exzellent). Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass sämtliche Speisen frisch zubereitet worden waren, sogar die Vorspeisen. Die Bedienung war sehr angenehm zurückhaltend und flink. Wir gingen mit dem festen Vorsatz bald wieder hierher zurückzukommen.

Very nice Romanian restaurant. Very comfortably furnished, traditional Romanian flair with many loving details. We felt very comfortable in the atmosphere. We went on a Thursday evening during the week, there was very little going on. The food was really very tasty and a pleasure. It could have been a bit hotter for my taste but it didn't bother me. The dessert (papanasi, Romanian donuts with sour cream and cherries) was also extremely tasty, definitely try it. The only point of criticism is the service; unfortunately the lady spoke German very poorly, which made it a little difficult to communicate when ordering. You could also approach the guest more proactively, e.g. B. If the drinks are empty or ask if you would like dessert. We always had to wave the waitress over to us, even though we were the only guests. Overall, the price/performance ratio is absolutely fair!

I was with my work colleagues, recommended Romanian food to them and went in a delegation from Augsburg to Vatra Brasov, I can only recommend it, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the service is exactly as it should be, the toilets are very clean and last but not least the food is very tasty at a very good price

As is often the case, I went somewhere without a plan on a Sunday and then something like this: very good and authentic (I guess) Romanian food. On Sunday the store was full - a good sign. We'll meet Again!

Unfortunately, I can't understand the good reviews at all. Salata de Boeuf: Doesn't deserve the name. I had to search for the beef to find it. Ready-made mayo was also used. I make the salad myself regularly with homemade mayo and the difference in taste is dramatic. Salata de Vinette: The preparation method is different from what I have been used to since childhood. Also very tasteless. The included toast was soft and had nothing to do with being toasted. Sarmale: Again, you almost have to search for the beef and they are rolled very loosely. Mici + fried potatoes: very neutral in taste. The portions were small and 11 EUR for the starters was just cheeky. I expected more based on the reviews. Very disappointing for people who can cook for themselves.

Unfortunately not recommended in our opinion. Although there were only two other guests present, we waited about 40 minutes for our food, which was only lukewarm. The dessert also arrived half an hour later, even though it was ordered at the same time as the main course. The food and dessert may have had to be defrosted🤷‍♀️. The salad we ordered was forgotten. Parking spaces are available in a parking garage about 300 meters away.

Very nice restaurant, lovely staff, quite cheap and very good food, quite fast service....we warmly recommend it....we will come back again😊

The delicious food, but the service needs improvement. The service couldn't speak German well, which wouldn't be so bad on its own. Romanian black beer was out, but instead of saying so, a wheat beer was simply brought. I don't like wheat beer, so I gave it back and ordered a Romanian light beer instead. The wheat beer was also included on the bill at the end. Empty plates or glasses were not cleared away and you had to really try to get more drinks.

A durat 25 de minute pana ne-a fost luata comanda si alte 2 ore pana a fost servită! Mancarea a fost Suprasărată, micii ft piperati si sfaramiciosi, aveau o culoare destul de dubioasa, mixul de muraturi lasă de dorit! Tin sa specific, nu era aglomerat restaurantul(3 mese ocupate, 6 persoane)! Ospatarița s-a scuzat ca este singură !

Sehr schönes Lokal, freundliche Bedienung und leckeres authentisches rumänisches Essen! Ich empfehle ganz dringend die Mici oder die Sarmale, es ist wirklich köstlich. Egal ob ihr rumänisch seid oder nicht, ihr solltet diesem Restaurant unbedingt einen Besuch abstatten.

We had a nice dinner here. The dishes we chose were all delicious and the waitress was very kind. We recommend trying a Romanian beer or a glass of wine. For food - try the ciorba de perisoare (meatballs sour soup that comes with fresh homemade bread, sour cream and a 🌶️), the smoked sausages with baked kidney beans (i recommend taking an assorted pickles salad next to it), the fried chicken Romanian style (with the excellent garlic sauce) and the papanasi (Romanian dessert made with fresh cheese and served with jam and sour cream). We’d definitely come back here.

Mâncarea și servirea restaurantului sunt excepționale iar preturile sunt normale.

Das Essen war großartig! Die Schlachtplatte war sehr gut, die Schweinehaxe wunderbar zart. Service super aufmerksam und freundlich, die ganze Zeit positiv - unbedingt dieses Lokal besuchen! Wir kommen wieder, euch kann ich es nur empfehlen.
