Türmerhaus in Rochlitz

As the start of our annual Christmas market trip to the (pre-)Ore Mountains, we made a detour to Rochlitz Mountain this year for lunch. We were very impressed with the quality of the food; the elderberry soup is my secret favorite, and the ribbon noodles with mushrooms were also absolutely delicious. A stylish building with an inviting atmosphere right next to the observation tower, plus very friendly waitstaff—it was a feast for the senses!

The Türmerhaus mountain restaurant on Rochlitz Mountain (353m) is beautifully and idyllically situated. Delicious food, friendly and fast service, a cozy beer garden, and lovely autumnal decorations inside – a wonderful atmosphere – simply perfect for relaxing.

We always enjoy coming back to Rochlitz Mountain. Of course, we eat at the mountain restaurant. The food is delicious, the quality is excellent, and the service is friendly and helpful.

Beautiful location in nature, near Rochlitz.

It's beautifully situated. The terrace is especially great when the weather's nice.

Here you can enjoy wonderful food and hike around the porphyry quarries.

We celebrated our grandchild's first day of school there at the beginning of August. A magical restaurant set in a beautiful landscape. Very friendly and attentive service, and the cake and dinner were delicious. We'll definitely be back.

We sat outside the restaurant, surrounded by tall, ancient beech trees. The food was very good, and the service was pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend the restaurant. It's worth climbing the tower for €1; on a clear day, you have a wonderful view as far as Leipzig or Altenburg.

We spontaneously stopped by for lunch last Sunday. Unfortunately, it was a total disappointment. My food was partly cold and lacked any real flavor. The "crispy coating" turned out to be simply burnt breadcrumbs. The vegetables were probably fresh and crispy four days ago. The service was also quite irritated. The same old story was repeated at every table.

Yes, unfortunately, the service here wasn't great today. A 1.5-hour wait for lunch would have left many people. You can do better than that.

The food was missing that final kick, but otherwise great!

On August 6, 2025, around 3 p.m., we wanted to order two ice cream sundaes. There weren't many customers and plenty of staff. Unfortunately, we were completely ignored for 30 minutes. Something like that had never happened to us before. Since no one was paying attention to us, we got up and left. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this restaurant.

The service was friendly, the food tasted good, and the ambience was OK, too.

Highly recommended. We really enjoyed it again. The weather was beautiful, and we sat in the beer garden. Don't forget to make a reservation, though. If you're a good walker, you can use the parking spaces below and walk up. It can get crowded in front of the restaurant. Super friendly service.

Very nice ambiance. We sat outside. There were parasols everywhere. The service was excellent. I would describe the food as home-style. The portions were generous. Some of the food is, of course, frozen, but that's perfectly fine for the price. We were there as a group. People with disabilities are advised to drive up to the restaurant, as the path from the parking lot is quite steep and not exactly wheelchair-accessible. We would definitely be happy to come back.

Upon entering the beer garden around 4:00 p.m., we were already eyed critically by the staff, who were comfortably seated at a beer table. And even though there were more staff than customers, it took forever for someone to bother to serve us. Unfortunately, they couldn't offer us any more food, as the kitchen closes 90 minutes before the restaurant closes. I can't recommend this restaurant.

Wir waren sehr enttäuscht! Preis/ Leistung passt absolut nicht! Wir hatten 5 Schnitzelgerichte: Portionen bestanden aus je 2 kleinen Nuggets, Kartoffeln nicht frisch und hart, Waldpilze/ Buttergenüse kalt und fade. Service war nett und bemüht.

When you're married, you're no better off than you were before. You wait 90 minutes for the schnitzel, but the expensive portion is a bit too small for me with my 60kg and it would have actually tasted better with the Schnizz - but as we all know, you can do anything with Rochlitzern - as you can see from the currently positive reviews. It's a shame, but it's not too bad. Not a total misstep but there is no recommendation.

Not recommended. The service was overwhelmed. The food really wasn't good. Definitely not for the price. Had something from a cheap chip shop. We wanted to celebrate a birthday. All the children thought the food was bad. And that with pasta and salad. It was nothing for that at all. Alm

Went there for lunch today, service was very nice, everything went quickly, less than 20 minutes until the food was there, but it could have been a little warmer. That's why only 4 stars. Otherwise it was very tasty. Beef tongue, game goulash and nuggets with fries. Happy to recommend

Service staff was very friendly. Unfortunately I wasn't happy with the food. If I order an omelet, I want an omelette and not a wafer-thin and lukewarm crepe made from scrambled eggs. My friend ordered a pasta nest with mushrooms. This was also lukewarm and not as a nest of noodles and relatively carelessly served on the plate. Either the cook didn't feel like it or he was stressed. I know him better there too. Very, very unfortunate.

Can definitely be recommended. The food is very tasty, plentiful and well prepared. Unfortunately we had to wait almost 50 minutes from ordering to being served. The entirely young service team seemed stressed. Unfortunately, the dirt from the shoes brought in by the many hikers was not cleaned up promptly on the floors, stairs and carpet. Unfortunately, that somehow doesn't fit together.

We really recommend hiking in the surrounding area, but unfortunately not the food. There were three of us and every meal (goose, tongue, pork knuckle) tasted old. Ambiance, we were there in February, cold.

What actually defines the quality of a good Pott's coffee? ☕️ About the type of coffee itself, the brand of coffee machine used, the way it is served? 🤔 No idea. 🤷‍♂️ In any case, the coffee served here in the Türmerhaus in an impressive setting can be rated as very good to tastiest in all categories. 👍😉

The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. A visit is recommended because the surrounding area is also very beautiful.

We were at the Türmerhaus with 28 guests for our 60th birthday. We had a buffet, everything was very, very tasty. Later in the evening there was delicious homemade cake. Our waitress was super nice and very attentive. It was a wonderful evening for us and our guests. Many thanks to the team.

The Türmerhaus mountain restaurant is always the highlight of a hike to or on the Rochlitzer Berg. The Rochlitzer Berg is highly recommended and beautiful as a hiking area. The service in the Türmerhaus is very friendly and the price-performance ratio is excellent with very tasty, large portions. We have also held a number of family celebrations up there.

Had our class reunion here. There was very tasty home-baked cake with the coffee. The dinner also tasted very good and was very nicely prepared. Friendly service, wonderful ambience. The taste of the food is again excellent. Only the portions seemed a bit small to me and the focus was more on the filling (cheaper?) side dishes. So gentlemen, one less dumpling, but one more ladle of goulash, if I order venison goulash, then I'm a regular 😊

Nice beer garden, nice friendly service. Asparagus was woody and poorly peeled, vegetables were overcooked and overall poorly seasoned, sauerbraten was OK. The waitress responded to the asparagus complaint with a shrug.

The restaurant features a diverse menu, for example there are game dishes and special children's plates. The dishes themselves are tasty. In addition, the operation is very quick, even when the house is full.

Half of our dishes were not particularly well presented. While the other half were very good and beautifully prepared. That saddens you a bit and makes a bad impression. I also didn't find my venison from the leg particularly tasty. But it could also be due to the piece of meat. All in all, it didn't really convince me.

We went here for lunch last Saturday. We had ordered a table for two people by phone in advance. The location of the restaurant is wonderful…in the middle of the countryside. You can easily hike there or arrive by car. There is a free parking lot. We were greeted friendly. We were quickly assigned a table. Unfortunately the table was dirty. It was probably due to the existing trees, from which something always falls, even when umbrellas are up. But we would have liked if the staff had seen this and quickly wiped the table again. I often have a problem with patio chairs, but these are very comfortable. Our drink and food requests were accommodated quickly. Little by little the rather large terrace filled up. The restaurant seems to be popular. We didn't have to wait very long for the food and drinks. The portions were OK. We had schnitzel with  vegetables and potatoes and trout with salad and potatoes. What bothered me about the fish was the large number of crushed and probably overcooked lemons on the fish. This made one side of the trout too sour. I complained afterwards. The whole cores were also included. Why wasn't a slice of lemon added here, like with the schnitzel? Otherwise the fish was well cooked. The mixed salad was okay, but probably not homemade. The schnitzel or the two schnitzels were good, but probably not fried in deep fat. This made them look like a finished product. We had to wait a long time for the bill. I had the impression that the staff was a bit overwhelmed due to the large number of guests and additional reservations. When it comes to prices, we are always of the opinion that you should look at the complete package, i.e. scope of work, service, etc. We found it not too expensive. We won't come to Rochlitz again just for the restaurant.

It's just great, when the weather is nice, there's a view from the tower to Leipzig or Fichtelberg, hiking, a great playground, climbing on the Porphyrstein. Food quite good, price? Parking ok. Nice experience.

Worst quality food I've eaten in recent years. Very expensive prices but you only get frozen goods. Sometimes the food is over-fried on one side and still raw on the other... 2 stars only because of the location, there isn't anything more positive to say!

We were here for coffee yesterday. Very friendly staff and nimble. Coffee and apple strudel came quickly and tasted very good. The ambience inside and outside is also harmonious - highly recommended
