Unfussy, authentic Turkish cuisine in a nice atmosphere

The two of us ate here. My wife had a dish with vegetables and some meat (stew-like) with rice. The quantity was okay, but very tasteless! I had a grill plate with 2 (mini) lamb chops, 2 (mini) meatballs, a small minced meat skewer and fries. The lamb chops were like they were made of rubber and were actually no longer suitable for eating with a knife and fork! The minced meat variations were generally good, just a bit small. It was a whole plate full of fries. Conclusion: The taste of the food left a lot to be desired. My plate was generously filled with fries and decorated with some minced meat, with inedible mini cutlets! For the price, a clear NO to recommend!

So we ordered 2 mixed grill plates and paid 45 euros for them and I'll be honest with you, that was the worst grill plate I've ever eaten. 1. in a mixed plate, you would expect chicken meat. What wasn't on it... 2. Meat was dry, not fresh. The only thing that was good was fries and rice... Service was also very nice but I had to get rid of that now, sorry. Will never eat there again.

If you want to try delicious Turkish cuisine in Forchheim, then this is the perfect restaurant. Large selection and something for everyone. We'd love to come back.

We made reservations for two people in the early evening. Due to the St. Anna Festival, the restaurant was not very busy. Otherwise there was always a lot more going on. The service was friendly and attentive. We were very satisfied with all of the dishes. The manti, pide and the Ottoman plate are highly recommended.

Food was delicious, atmosphere was very nice, service was very friendly. Had grill plate for 2 people. We found it a bit expensive for the presentation and quantity. As I said, it tastes very good!

I recommend the mix grill plate. It has great adana kebap, rice/fries, salad, meatballs and very tender ram chops. Also they have the german Helles beer and very good turkish tea.

Cute little restaurant, beautifully decorated in the oriental style "light" (the big chandelier in the entrance area is absolutely brilliant). The service is super attentive, always there in the background, but never intrusive, a little chat included. Menu small but nice - which is meant in a positive way, not overloaded, but the dishes on offer are excellent. Mom cooks and you can taste it! As a bonus, there was Turkish tea and mocha on the house at the end. We'll definitely be back!

Clearly NOT a recommendation. We had a hair in the food and tomatoes with stalks in the salad. There is zero response to criticism. You don't feel comfortable with the spiders on the walls and you don't feel welcome either. To top it off, fly catchers hang from the ceiling. You have to go to the counter to pay. Once and never again

The price is absurd for the quantity and quality of food. The grill plate for one person costs €22.50 and is simply not worth the money. There is a skewer of minced meat on top (well seasoned, although there was a hair in the skewer at our table), two kofta (minced meat balls) and a ridiculous piece of lamb rib that was completely cooked to death (I've never had tough lamb before, absolutely sad). There was also a bowl of rice (very tasty) and a side salad (one still had tomato stalks in it, which you just can't afford given the prices). Overall, not enough for the price. The portion of Manti was excellent in taste, but not enough for €14.50. Interestingly, the prices on Lieferando are cheaper than in the restaurant. The service was superficially friendly, but the mention of the major blunders was dismissed with an "Okay" without going into further detail. On the contrary, we felt very unwanted and when it came to billing (which we were not allowed to do at the table, but had to pay independently, like in a fast food restaurant, at the counter upstairs) it was no longer taken into account. Oh yes, the Aperol Spritz came in a plastic glass... The ambience is actually very nice, a harmonious decoration which was unfortunately disturbed by some cobwebs (we saw two in the restaurant above our table and two in the entrance area) and the associated residents. What's more, from where we were sitting we could see an insect trap strip being hung up in the kitchen. All in all, no recommendation, the good reviews on Google are a mystery to me. To respond to the owners' answer: They read exactly the opposite from my review and jumped on it... everything tasted great, that's what I wrote, the Manti plate in particular was very tasty. That wasn't the problem. And of course we ate the food as much as possible, I hate food waste. That doesn't change the fact that the lamb was small and tough, there was a piece of tomato with a stalk in the salad and there was a hair on a skewer. They just put that aside and showed you when they got the plates, which they didn't elaborate on. I really hope that the restaurant just had a bad day that day and wasn't in the mood for us because of the use of the gourmet block. If you have a problem with someone using a gourmet block to try out new restaurants, they should not participate in such promotions. I didn't say the wine glasses were made of plastic, but rather an Aperol glass. The glass in which the Campari came was normally made of glass. I wish you and your restaurant nothing but the best, but I will definitely not become a customer again if you treat criticism like this.

Delicious food, prompt & friendly service with a nice front seating area to take in the town. Definitely recommend!

I am at a loss for words The service was callously unfriendly when ordering and serving What is absolutely not possible is the service staff, the business card of the house Grade 6 And the big point is that the food was inedibly lukewarm and that had nothing to do with the dish described I just tried it and let it go back guys, I had extremely nausea and diarrhea I'll never go there again And I would advise everyone not to eat there Absolutely disgusting.

The food is the star of this place. But as a Turkisch place, there is very little variety. Parking is a challenge, though. I guess and hope also it was only an one time case, the heater was not working and upon asking the waiter told us that due to it is an old building there is no heater. There are a lot of ways to heat up, even if it was an old place.

Very large portion, service was great and the rose water was the highlight of the evening.

We were warmly welcomed by the owner of the house. The table was freshly disinfected and we were allowed to sit on a comfortable corner bench. The ambience with the lantern lamps on the deck is very cozy. The mixed grill platter for two people was super tasty, highly recommended! Turkish Homekitchen is definitely a gem on the dining scene! From the warm welcome to the last fork, every moment was a pleasure. The ambience is charming and inviting, perfect for a special evening. The staff were extremely attentive and friendly, and the food was simply delicious - fresh, creative and beautifully presented. The price-performance ratio is fair and reasonable. Thank you so much Turkishhomekitchen for taking care of the catering for our wedding reception! It was very successful from start to finish. The coordination beforehand went smoothly, e.g. selection and quantity of food. The food was delivered on time and most importantly: every guest enjoyed it and there was something for everyone! That has to be done first with 30-40 people! We can recommend you without exception and are always happy to come directly to you to eat on site! The family atmosphere is also worth highlighting. You can also tell that you make the food yourself and know your craft (preparing authentic Turkish cuisine).

Very tasty but there is still room for improvement ;-) The food looks beautifully presented and is handmade. It gets 4.3 out of 5 stars and could be even better if a green salad, sugarloaf lettuce and/or coleslaw were served instead of boring iceberg lettuce. The lamb chops were good, but there were no vegetables apart from the small side dish/iceberg lettuce. The tzatziki was super tasty. The Ottoman plate is also very good.

Ich habe Wochen im Voraus eine Bestellung zum abholen veranlasst, leider wurde diese Bestellung nicht vollständig fertig gestellt . An dem Tag der Abholung war das Personal leider super unprofessionell und hatte nicht die gewünschte Menge von der Bestellung da und anstatt eine Entschädigung anzubieten wurde das Personal auch noch frech . Ich kann es leider nicht weiterempfehlen.

Unfortunately mediocre. We ordered and the order arrived in the promised time (30 minutes). However, we were disappointed with the price-performance ratio. For 2-3 pieces of meat with some fries around €15 each, without any dip or other side dishes (some vegetables or something similar would be good) it's very expensive. The meat was tasty and seasoned appropriately, the fries were ok, but overall it wasn't entirely convincing for the price. All in all, too little and too loveless. Edit: Since I can't answer, here's an addition. It was simply no more and also a dip - here An additional €5.50 for a portion of tzatziki, for example - certainly doesn't make the price-performance ratio any better. There are clearly better alternatives! The answer plays its part.

We were in this restaurant for the first time. It is small but very comfortably furnished and the staff were very friendly and attentive throughout. The food was very tasty. There were four of us and we had an appetizer platter for two and a grill platter for two. Everything was consistently delicious and for anyone who is a bit nervous about lamb, the lamb was great and didn't have an “intense lamb taste”. To be fair, it has to be mentioned that Turkish Home Kitchen isn't exactly cheap, but it's not a kebab shop. The ingredients all appear to be high quality. We will definitely come again.

Endlich konnten wir in Forchheim den "Türken" testen. Da ich oftmals geschäftlich in Istanbul verbringe, vermisse ich hier bei uns die echten türkischen Speisen. Döner und co muss man hier an der Stelle wirklich ausgrenzen. Die Lokalität beherbergte vorher ein renommiertes mexikanisches Lokal "zur Tenne" bis zum Küchenbrand und im Anschluss fand man hier ein Vespa-Cafe. Wir haben vorher ohne Probleme telefonisch reservieren können. Da die Räumlichkeiten nicht gross sind, was das Ambiente familiärer und gemütlicher gestaltet. Die Einrichtung ist sehr gelungen und modern verspielt. der junge Chef ist zuvor kommend und geht auf Wünsche, ohne zu Murren, ein und ist sehr bemüht. Man fühlt sich als Gast angenehm und unaufdringlich gut behandelt. Wir haben uns einen Vorspeisen Teller zusammen gestellt und genossen, bevor der Grillteller für 2 Personen als Hauptgang antanzte. Fleisch wie in Istanbul: hervorragend, endlich mal wieder lecker Köfte :) der Beilagensalat ist auch zu benennen, lecker mit Essig und Zitronengeschmack. Also das Essen ist wirklich lecker! Baklava ist frisch und sehr gut. Es gibt hier die Walnuss und Pistazien Variante. Zum Abschluss gönnte ich mir einen türkischen Mokka. Dieser kam in einer persönlichen traditionellen Tasse, das war ein Foto wert! Kurzum, wir kommen wieder, unser Hochzeitstagsabendessen wird wiederholt:) Man kann wohl die Speisen auch abholen.als kleiner Hinweis.

Das Lokal hat ein sehr schönes Ambiente. Bei meinem Adana Kebap schmeckte das Hackfleisch sehr gut, aber der Rest hatte nicht viel mit türkischem Essen zu tun. Der Salat (Gurke Tomate und Eisbergsalat) war mit Balsamico angemacht. Keine einzige Zwiebel bei dem Gericht.

Leckeres Essen zu einem vernünftigen Preis. Waren hier zum Testen mit Schlemmerblock.

Wir finden das Location hat ein sehr schönes Ambiente. Zum essen hatten wir den Adana Teller mit Pommes (dazu wurde Mayo und Ketchup gereicht) und ein Beilagensalat, welcher leider mit Balsamico angerichtet war (ein gutes Salatdressing wäre empfehlenswerter).

Ich hatte ein tolles Abendessen mit einer Freundin dort. Tolles essen und ein hervorragender Service, man wurde gut versorgt und bedient. ☺️ Kommen aufjedenfall wieder.

Schönes Ambiente und netter Service. Der Service braucht noch etwas Übung. Das Essen war genial. Wir hatten den gemischten Vorspeisenteller. Sind zu zweit satt geworden. Danach hatte jeder noch hausgemachten Baklava das spitze war. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ich war am 5.09.2023 mit meiner Freundin das erste mal dort zum Essen, das Essen ist wirklich sehr lecker und schmeckt einfach super. Selbst der Beilagensalat schmeckt einfach toll. Das ist einfach Hammer!!! Das Essen hat so gut geschmeckt, die Bedienung war sehr nett und Ambiente einfach Klasse! Ein absoluter muss bei der Stadtbesichtigung.

Nach Empfehlung des Chefs haben wir uns für eine gemischte Vorspeisenplatte mit zusätzlichen Adana Spießen für zwei Personen entschlossen – die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend und die Auswahl der Speisen äußert authentisch und geschmacklich ein Highlight. Das schlichte aber gemütliche Ambiente lädt zum Genießen ein – für den Garten war es uns an diesem Tag kalt (aber auch hier können gemütliche Stunden mit leckerem Essen verbracht werden). Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend mit tollem Essen und freundlichem Service. Wir werden definitiv wiederkommen und können Turkishhomekitchen wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

Mein lieblings Restaurant in Forchheim Essen ist lecker, frisch. Service ist top und ein sauberer laden. Mitarbeiter achten auf Hygiene worauf ich sehr wert lege. Location ist super vor allem mit der Terrasse im Hof. Haben schon mal die Terrasse für eine private Party angemietet und das team hat sich super um u der Wohle gekümmert. Kann ich nur weiter empfehlen.

Orientalisch angenehmes Restaurant, sehr freundliche Bedienung, sehr gutes und geschmacklich super Essen. Wir haben mit 8 Personen 2 Platten (Teigwaren und Grill) bestellt, alles wurde erklärt und hat gut ausgereicht.
