I can't understand the recent worse reviews. We have been going here again and again for years and are satisfied every time. The cocktails are delicious and so is the Tex Mex food. While I really miss the specials menu, the Cheese Quesadillas on the new menu are my new favorite. The service is always very friendly, even when the store is very busy. We have nothing to complain about and would be happy to come back. 👍🏼 If you want a fancier ambience, you have to go to an established restaurant and not a sports bar!

I really liked the food, it was very tasty, but unfortunately the waiter ruined the whole impression of the place. The waiter with glasses was unhappy when I asked questions, his gaze was full of hatred. He didn’t know the menu and didn’t want to give any advice; it would have been easier for him if I had simply indicated the number on the menu and not asked any questions. I was left with an unpleasant feeling as if I had done something bad and I was being judged in this establishment.

We've been going to Jam's for a long time. Yes, it has become more expensive...but where isn't it? The staff was always friendly, I can't say anything negative, especially about the waiter who was mentioned here several times. We always got full. Steaks were always good. Fries: I wonder where you can still get homemade ones? Sometimes you have to make yourself noticeable, but you always react immediately. We go there about once a month, also because of the delicious cocktails.

I visited Jam's Restaurant for the first time with my wife on September 30, 2024. We were absolutely thrilled by the ambience and also what was on offer. We also really liked the team in the guest room because of their friendliness and enthusiasm. We found the prices to be reasonable for the portion size. The food we ordered was amazing. The taste is A1 and huge praise to the team in the kitchen. We had such a lovely evening at Jam. We will be happy to visit you again as soon as we are back in Refrath. We are happy to be guests there often, whether with family or friends. Mega cocktails, very tasty food and something for everyone. If you leave Jam's hungry, it's your own fault :)

Unfortunately, our visit to Jams Restaurant was extremely disappointing. Despite a reservation for 20 people made a week ago, our table was given to other guests. In order to still be able to sit together, we were forced to put together tables in the outside area ourselves so that we could sit fairly close to each other. However, the outdoor area was uncomfortable and unheated, which significantly detracted from the overall experience. Added to this was the inappropriate behavior of the waiter, who treated us with conspicuous unfriendliness and rolled his eyes in annoyance several times when taking orders. The behavior when paying was particularly shocking, when people literally asked for tips and a racist comment was made that "only Turks don't tip." This was highly unprofessional and unacceptable, especially since some of us left a tip despite the poor service. Overall, the evening was very disappointing due to these events. We will definitely not visit Jams Restaurant again and I cannot recommend it due to this negative experience.

Unfortunately, my second visit to Jams Restaurant was a big disappointment compared to the first time. As soon as we entered the restaurant it started with a surprise: although we had reserved, our table was given to another group without any explanation. The waiter - a man with black glasses and medium-length, straight hair - seemed annoyed from the start and didn't bother to find a solution. We finally discovered the winter garden and moved the tables together independently. The restaurant staff agreed, but no one seemed to care about us. We enjoyed going there as a team of employees, but the service this time left a lot to be desired. It took a long time for anyone to come by to take an order and we even had to ask for lights in the conservatory. The same waiter demonstratively rolled his eyes when taking orders. The behavior was simply rude and inappropriate. Unfortunately, the quality of the food has also decreased. While the walnuts in the salad were roasted on my last visit, this time they were raw and uncared for in a bowl. The low point, however, came at the end: the waiter made me aware of the possibility of leaving a tip with my card when I didn't want to give him one due to the terrible service. He made a racist remark by saying, "Yeah, that's how Turks are most of the time," after mistaking me for a Turkish woman. For me, this incident was the absolute height of unprofessionalism and disrespect. After this experience, it is more than questionable whether I will visit the Jams Restaurant again.

Unfortunately very disappointing. The previously reserved table was given to someone else and the waiter was obviously annoyed or stressed. The food was delicious, but various extra requests (such as sauce, extra fries) were forgotten. One colleague even left empty-handed; he got his food when the rest of us were almost finished. We sat in the winter garden, extremely uncomfortable, not heated. The light was only turned on for us after we asked. In general, the waiters rarely came and asked for the right thing, but there was no response. Conclusion: I like the food. The service is catastrophic.

It was actually supposed to be a nice evening with my colleagues from the pharmacy. When I arrived a little late with a colleague, the rest of the team informed us that our table, which had been reserved a week ago, had already been reserved for other customers. Too bad! After much back and forth, we decided to take over the annex. It should be mentioned that it was neither heated nor comfortable in any way. The ordering process and the way it was carried out was also terrible. The waiter was anything but cooperative and seemed like any order would overwhelm and annoy him. The whole thing was crowned by the fact that he had forgotten my food and I had to wait another half hour before I was allowed to eat alone because everyone else had already finished eating. The culmination of the evening was a racist comment that the waiter made during the payment process because we were not prepared to give an appropriate tip due to the events of the evening. A remark like: "It's usually the case with Turks that they don't tip!" you could have saved yourself. In any case, we all agree that we will no longer honor this store. Thank you for that. 👍🏼

We used to enjoy eating here, but now it's just mediocre. Whether it's the food, the ambience or the service. The winter garden could be made more friendly, especially since the terrace was already closed for 24. The spare ribs had probably been kept warm for some time (days?), the steak was cold and not medium rare. Back to the kitchen, so the fries were cold. Coleslaw portions in a dip bowl, there are better restaurants in Bergisch, a shame ☹️

I'm amazed by the other reviews here and would recommend everyone to go to a real burger and BBQ place. Yesterday I was there with my wife and her family because she showed me pictures from before and told me how great it was. The sweet potato fries and regular fries were never homemade and came from the freezer. The burger buns looked like they came from Aldi and tasted like them too. The meat also came across like the frozen patties from the wholesaler. In general, the portions were super small and I cooked something real at home afterwards. Out of 7 orders, the waiter with glasses and slicked back hair also managed to make 4 mistakes. The spare ribs were dry and no one can get enough of them either. The only thing that's big about the portions are the prices!

Jam's long-running favorite ordered afterwards and paid €75 for it... No response to my email! Was the last visit

I really enjoy going to jams more or less regularly, but I have to admit that I'm a little sad. Complaining at a high level! Both portion sizes have decreased and prices have increased. I can understand it, but I still don't like going there anymore. The menu has also been revised and some great dishes are no longer available. The last time I even had the feeling that it didn't taste as good as the previous time. Really a shame. However, compared to other restaurants in the area, it's still a gem!

The menu itself is great, unfortunately some old dishes didn't make it onto the "new" one (they've probably been around for a while). R.I.P. Gambas in bacon with tomato sauce ;) The price has also increased a bit.

Jam’s used to be a great insider tip for mega burgers. Now this restaurant is a disappointment!!! Burgers with cartilage, peppers and cucumber from a jar or can, onion rings lay raw next to the burger. Only the fries were very tasty. The service leaves a lot to be desired. The staff is more concerned with themselves. No reaction when I said that the food didn't taste good. After my review and the restaurant's response, I reserved a table again. There was a very open and nice conversation with the management of the house, which I would like to mention positively at this point. The service was much better and the food tasted better. So all in all very satisfactory!!!

We've eaten there four times in the last few weeks, despite always very slow service, because we like Mexican food and so we came back today. Last time it was very difficult to get drinks and today we were ignored by the waitress who served neighboring tables in a very relaxed manner. Another waiter came by, but unfortunately he wasn't in charge. Since we were thirsty and hungry we decided to leave again. It's a shame, we've known the restaurant for a long time. However, the ambience and service suffered. The cocktails were always quite good.

We ate there with 6 people and enjoyed it! Large portions, delicious, unusual dishes! Good service, we are full of praise and have recommended this great restaurant with the wonderful beer garden several times!!!

This time i didn't go for steak. I take Mexican Combination with tomato soup. Soup was creamy and right taste. Combination was variations of 3 meals: taco,burrito and enchilada. Big portion. I was satisfied. Will be back for some steak and gambas or calamari

The restaurant is not as recommended. Rhababa chorle is so diluted that it tastes more like water than rhubarb. The Natchos aren't worth the money, they're so careless on the plate Overall, I can't recommend the food.

For the European Championship game DE:ES. The reservation was messed up and completely overwhelmed. Very long waiting times for all orders, which had to be reminded several times, and for payment.

At first the wrong food was brought, but it was relatively quick for the right one to arrive. There was the same problem at the next table. The portion was mega, but the meat was unfortunately tough. It was tasty nonetheless. Next time I wouldn't use beef again.

A few years ago, when the place was still called Touchdown, it was really tasty here. The burgers were juicy, the steaks were great and you could eat the menu up and down without much concern. I have no idea what has happened in the last few years, but unfortunately what we experienced yesterday didn't work at all. It was my son's birthday and we decided to go out to eat at "Jams". Unfortunately, the guest room can no longer be beaten in terms of hospitality. Very carelessly furnished, uncomfortable chairs, far too hot, no air conditioning, lack of ventilation... There were five of us. We ordered a large nacho plate, calamari rings and shrimp for starters. My companion said “you can bring whatever is ready,” referring to the starter. We ordered the main course straight away. A crispy chicken burger, ribs, noodles and chicken wings. We wait a whole hour and a half for the food and to our surprise, all of a sudden it arrives. Both starters and main courses. Hmm, pretty stupid. Nachos and chicken wings - none. We asked to cancel the nachos because we actually didn't need them anymore. "No, I've already bonked," was the waitress's curt reply. Well, actually not my problem if the starter comes with the main course, or not at all. The boss came, apologized briefly and took the nachos off the order. When ordering, when asked if my son's pasta could be swapped from fettucine to farfalle, she simply said "No, that's not possible because the dish is already ready". Aha, already done. Ok, that's what it looked like and unfortunately that's how it tasted too. Unfortunately there was nothing al dente here, pasta was completely overcooked, the sauce was far too creamy and the additional strips of beef that were ordered were a completely unseasoned steak slapped onto the plate that was completely cooked through and therefore the sole of a shoe. Our dog was happy. The ribs looked very pitiful and had the taste and look of old ribs that had been reheated. Ribs don't taste like that. The crispy chicken burger was a disaster. Any McDonalds or Burger King burger is better. My chicken wings were......oh wait, they didn't come at all. Everyone was finished, I still didn't have any food, but I didn't ask for it anymore. I just wanted to pay and escape. Chicken wings were on the bill. So, corrected the receipt again. The bottom line is that we paid over €100 for 5 drinks, squid rings (inedible), prawn pan (ok), crispy chicken burger (disaster), ribs (never again) and fettucine with beef strips (completely overcooked, seasoned to no avail). Craziness. Unfortunately, this shop is a snack bar in the guise of a restaurant. There are a few restaurants nearby that beat this by far. Unfortunately, I have to be honest. We won't be coming back and can't recommend this either. The boss was hard-working and friendly, but he can't save his snappy, snarky waitress or the food, as much as I'm sorry. Actually you should give zero stars for the food, but that's not possible.

Top food. The Mexican plate with three different burritos/enchiladas is a blast. Gladly again.

Delicious food, typically American/Mexican. When it's full, you sit very tight and it's very loud. They just wanted to accommodate as many seats as possible and all of them would be used. Very loud at peak times. Pre-order required!

I honestly don't think it's good. I looked at pictures online and thought it looked very comfortable inside. When we arrived we were sat outside, away from the restaurant, in a very unpleasant area. Don't understand why they do that to customers instead of just saying "we're fully booked". The food was also very bad. I had the crispy chicken burger. The bun was super dry and for some reason the burger wasn't topped, but the ingredients were served on the plate for you to top yourself. The result was that the plate was full of water from the pickles and other vegetables and the burger was “sponge”. Accordingly, the lower half was completely soaked. I found it really disgusting.

The food is no better than Burger King. Everything ready. Nothing fresh. Don't understand the good reviews. But the staff was very friendly. Can't say anything against it.

Toller Laden, tolles Team, lecker Essen, was will man mehr? Ich bin hier Stammgast und werde schon wie ein "guter Freund" behandelt. Speisen sind lecker, mega Service und vieles mehr, machen das Jam's zu einem tollen Restaurant und vor allem auch zur angesagten Bar.

Gemütlich, nett und schnell... beste ist aber das es schmeckt... und die Portion sind riesig.... für alle was dabei...

Wir waren heute mit der Familie hier. Der Service war sehr freundlich und brachte unseren Kindern Buntstifte und ein Ausmalbild. Das Essen war gut gemacht aber nichts außergewöhnliches. Die Burger waren leider wirklich nur Standard. Die mexikanischen Gerichte hingegen richtig toll gemacht. Saucen und Dressings waren top! Es war zwar recht voll und eher laut aber das gehört wohl auch irgendwie dazu. Nix fürs romantische Dinner aber auf jeden Fall richtig toll fürs Familientreffen. Die Preise sind gemessen an der Qualität sehr ok bis auf einige wenige Ausrutscher. Wir empfanden zum Beispiel das Eis für die Kinder als etwas zu teuer. Bei den Rippchen dürfte es auch eine Rippe mehr sein. Wir kommen definitiv gerne nochmal wieder!

Super tolle Location. Sehr nette Bedienung und sehr gutes Essen. Obwohl die Küche an diesem Abend schon geschlossen hatte, rief uns die sehr nette Bedienung noch Mal an und sagte uns die Küche würde uns noch ein paar kleine Snacks machen. Absoluter Top Service den wir gerne in Anspruch nahmen.

Ich hatte ein kleines Steak, Ribs mit Wedges und Salat. Das Steak war in Ordnung, die Ribs waren leider nicht gut. Komische Marinade und zu trocken. Salat in Ordnung. Die Wedges waren leider nicht knusprig. Summa summarum: Das Ambiente ist aus meiner Sicht für ein Diner ausbaufähig und das Essen ist mittelmäßig. Summa summarum: Kann man machen, muss man aber nicht.

Sehr netter und persöhnlicher Kontakt mit dem Service Personal und super Cocktails von Ahmet, der einen immer mit breitem grinsen und Handschlag begrüßt. Geschmacklich sind die Getränke super, ab und zu ist mir etwas zu wenig Alc. Essen egal was man bestellt, schmeckt super, passend angerichtet und sehr ordentliche Portionen. Also Preis-Leistung passt. Ich empfehle kein bestimmtes Gericht da alle super sind. Geheimtipp .... Eddy Special ... auf der kleinen Karte...viel Spass und man sieht sich demnächst an der Theke....👋🍹

Essensraum riecht stark nach Rauch durch die dauergeöffnete Tür zur Raucherterrasse. Die Nachos sind fad und scheinen direkt aus der Tüte zu kommen. Die Rippchen sind sehr trocken und geschmacklos. Das Steak ist ok. Service freundlich und schnell.

Ambiente ist gut. Service nett, zuvorkommend und schnell. Allerdings muss der Burger selber zusammengebaut werden. Was bitte soll das? Wurde schon mehrfach hier kritisiert. Wieso aber wird das nicht geändert? Wen jemand etwas nicht mag, dann soll derjenige es doch direkt bei der Bestellung sagen. Stattdessen wird mir in vorherigen Kritiken dazu geraten doch vorher einfach Bescheid zu geben, dass ich den Burger gerne zusammengebaut haben würde.

Der Service war nett, das Essen war gut und kam sehr schnell und gleichzeitig. Die Süßkartoffelpommes schmeckten mir besser als die herkömmlichen.

Sehr gutes und schönes Restaurant, mit gemütlichen Biergarten. Wir waren heute zu 3. dort essen und hatten uns alle für das Entrrecote entschieden. Beilagen Ware Röstzwiebel, Pfeffersauce, Pommes und Salat. Hat uns allen hervorragend geschmeckt. Service und Getränke Top. Gerne kommen wir wieder!!!

Essen war echt gut und für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. Werden uns mit Sicherheit wieder blicken lassen.

Waren aus Anlass zu unserem 28 jährigen Hochzeitstag Essen gewesen. Zu 4 Personen, für jeden war was dabei burger, Ribs und vieles mehr. Uns hat es geschmeckt und die Teller sind reichlich gefüllt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Solider Laden mit deutlich Luft nach oben. Es ging schon bei der Reservierung los. Online eine Katastrophe. Mehrere Stellen auf der hp, wo man reservieren kann. Teils wird dadurch eine einfache Mail generiert, teils ein Kontaktformular. Tag kann ich auswählen, Uhrzeit nicht. Ihr weist auf der hp schon hin: vorzugsweise telefonisch. 🤷‍♀️ Antwort auf die Onlineanfrage habe ich keine bekommen. Wenn man online anbietet, sollte es auch klappen. Gut, dann telef. Hat auch mäßig geklappt. Als wir ankamen sahen wir, dass unser Name im Reservierungsbuch bereits abgestrichen war. Wir haben dann doch noch einen Tisch bekommen, obwohl Kellnerin und Kellner auf unterscheidende Tische zeigten…. Service war in Ordnung, hausgemachte Limo und Eistee sowie Ipanema lecker. Warum baut ihr die Burger nicht in der Küche zusammen? Beide wurden als Bastelset serviert. Für den Gast unpraktisch. Quesadilla: Bohnen steinhart, Reis feste Pampe. Füllung zu scharf. Ansonsten war das essen gut. Leckere Patties. Atmosphäre leider recht laut trotz nicht ausgebuchten Plätzen. Aber sehr hübsch eingerichtet. 25€/Person. Mein Wunsch als Gast: Schreibt auf die ho, on Kartenzahlung möglich, ob Hunde willkommen und ob Kinderstühle vorhanden.
