Tirelli's in Berlin

The pasta was really 10 out of 10. The starters and desert were 3/10 with little effort put in and didn’t taste so nice. But the reason for 2/5 stars it’s because the service was abysmal. Every time we asked for anything it was met with eyes rolling and we did not feel very welcome at all. To top things off as we were eating our desert, one of the waiters got on his motorbike to leave and revved the engine right next to our table. Smothering the us and our dessert in petrol infused air! With no apology or care for any of the customers sitting outside. It was a terrible experience, which is such a shame because just the pasta is good.

I live nearby and always wanted to check out this place. We came to this restaurant on a Saturday evening, fully aware it might be fully booked. Still, we decided to try our luck, hoping there might be a free table. I was with friends visiting me in Berlin — they were tourists and really excited to explore local places. The owner told us the next available table would be at 8 PM indoors. I said we’d check somewhere else since we were too hungry to wait, and we stood on the sidewalk nearby looking for other options. I was calling already to another restaurant. At that point, one of my friends, unfamiliar with Berlin’s reservation customs, saw a table being cleared and politely asked a waitress if we could sit there — simply thinking it might be available. The owner stormed out, snapped at us not to talk to his staff, and rudely told us we no longer had a table at 8 PM — basically saying “bye” in front of everyone. We did absolutely nothing to deserve that kind of aggressive, humiliating treatment. A simple “Sorry, that table is reserved” would’ve been more than enough. Instead, we were shouted at like we had done something awful. What’s frustrating is that we genuinely liked the vibe and the smell of the food. We were already planning to come back another day with a reservation. But honestly, no meal is worth that level of disrespect. Again, it was completely unnecessary to be that rude toward people who clearly wanted to eat at your restaurant. We behaved respectfully and did absolutely nothing to deserve that reaction.

handcrafted tasty pasta anyone? we came here, the place was fully booked but got a table cause we were in a hurry. oh boy will we come back with more time to enjoy. such great pasta, you won‘t believe it. cant wait to return. 7 months later the haydays seem to be over. 3 out of 7 left with unwell feelings (stomach) also we just came from a lengthy trip to italy and let me tell you, the pasta at tirellis is too hard and dont tell me nonsense about ‚al dente‘ its just not like we ate in italy the week before. my dish also arrived more cold than warm and more salty than could be described as tasteful. also the noise level in the evening indoors is just disturbingly loud ( never experienced such noise levels in italy), we couldnt hold a regular conversation and thus left a lot earlier. we might check again but for now the hype seems to be over.

Excellent cuisine and a welcoming environment for a party with relatives. We will definitely be back.

Family lunch (we were almost 50 people). Excellent pastas, especially the one with pistachio. Note of merit also for the cannoli at the end of lunch!

Totally annoying: absolutely no response to phone calls or text messages for reservations. Simply ignored. Luckily, there are numerous very good traditional Italian restaurants along the road towards Mehringdamm that have been located here for decades. We ended up at “più 39” where we enjoyed a lovely evening with delicious food and friendly and professional service.

Place in the heart of Kreuzberg suitable for those who love first courses and good Italian cuisine, quality products, friendly service and super helpful staff, excellent wines, prices suitable for everyone. A place where the Berlin environment and Italian flavors mix. We personally had a great time. Highly recommended

Unfortunately, the food, wine and service were not good. There were none of the wines on the menu, the waitress couldn't recommend an alternative "because she doesn't like wine herself". The wines we tried were subpar in quality. The pasta was al dente but very tasteless. Not really edible without pepper and oil. The atmosphere was loud and very stressful. All in all, not a pleasant experience.

Immaculate Italian pasta in a place with great people and a chiq atmosphere! The ricotta cream of the cannolo is out of this world! One tiny improvement could be the tables outside that could be covered with something to make them a little more beautiful.

Brilliant little noodle factory where we had the best noodles we've ever eaten in Berlin. The homemade noodles are really of excellent quality and cooked and served to perfection. The sauces are a taste explosion in themselves. We had “Carbonara with pistachios” and “Salsiccia with porcini mushrooms” (for me with a slight note of fennel) which were absolutely perfect. Employees are very friendly and competent. Thank you for the perfect evening.

The restaurant is lovingly furnished. But that was it. We didn't understand what was supposed to be so excellent about the pasta. It tasted normal to boring. There is much better homemade pasta in Berlin. The tiramisu was a runny something that didn't taste remotely like what it was named after. In addition, the staff was so stressed that they didn't even smile. Overall, quite a mass processing, hectic, drafty, impersonal and uncomfortable atmosphere. At 8:00 p.m., all tables were served the bill without being asked, as that was when the next two-hour slot began. All in all not worth recommending.

Excellent culinary experience, fresh and delicious food. We had lunch with my boyfriend and we ate very well. Alessandro was really helpful and gave us excellent suggestions. For an authentic taste of Italian pasta it is highly recommended.

Sadly at first we were served by very rude and unfriendly waiter with no social skills at all, who later turned out to be the restaurants manager/shift supervisor („I am the boss so listen to me and not to my colleagues“). He treated not only us but all the other guests and also his own colleagues in a very disrespectful way. We will never come here again even though the pasta is definitely worth a visit! I would have probably given 5 stars if there was another manager. The other waiters and waitresses were really lovely but they also seemed to suffer from a leader who should not work in hospitality.

Great food, disrespectful service. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Tirelli’s was disappointing due to the way we were treated. We booked a table via WhatsApp (which they promote as a reservation option on their website) and were directed to confirm with a different number. The reservation was confirmed for 6 PM, with no mention of a time limit. Upon arrival, staff seemed unaware of our booking and asked us to show the WhatsApp messages. Awkward, but we moved past it. After enjoying our starters and main course, our server mentioned we might have to leave or switch tables by 8 PM due to other reservations. Shortly after, she told us we could stay longer after all, so we ordered another round of drinks. The order was forgotten, arrived late after a kind reminder, and before we even finished, we were asked to move tables. Despite having paid (with a decent tip), the owner then approached us abruptly and rather rudely, insisting we leave. When I explained that we had been told we could stay longer—hence our extra order—he completely dismissed me, cut me off, and rudely said, "Maybe this is not the place for you then." I’ve never left a review this long, but this was honestly a terrible experience. If a restaurant fails to manage its own reservations and communicate time limits properly, that is not the customer’s fault.

Went here for lunch once. Very tasty pasta, big plate, good price. Returned few months later for dinner. Good food again but poor service, really doing the minimum. Would return for quick lunch, but not for a longer stay in the evening, it’s not a very hospitable place.

I ordered ravioli, it is very good but not perfect. There is a bit of a salt problem, just like an Italian ravioli, maybe I use more than is acceptable :). In any case, there are hardly any service problems (English menu, I had to change my knife), but still a good restaurant. You could go there.

UPDATE: I gave the restaurant a second try and this time the service staff (different person than last time) was very kind and welcoming. The food was again very delicious and we got a table in the other room without the kitchen, which was adequately heated. Therefore, I’m changing my stars from 3 to 5 and really hope that the new experience will continue. —- The two different pasta dishes we ordered were really delicious, but the male service staff was so unfriendly the whole time that we felt very unwelcome. Plus, he asked us to leave 30 minutes prior to the previously agreed reservation end time to prepare the table for the next guests, so we had to down our glasses of wine. Very unprofessional behavior. It was also very cold in the room we were seated, so we had to wear our coats and scarfs while eating.

The pasta and starter were ok but not outstanding. The service was a bit brusque ;) and we sat near the door, which was very chilly as the staff constantly has to go out and in to bring in the food

From delays to insults, a real nightmare!!! I’ve never been treated so poorly and disrespectfully in any restaurant. We were a group of six people (with me being the only Italian) and had a reservation for 8:00 PM. When we arrived at 8:05 PM, our table wasn’t ready, and the staff had to quickly set one up by squeezing a table into the room. This was completely fine for us, and we waited patiently outside while they prepared it. Once seated, we ordered drinks, appetizers, and main courses. The appetizers arrived promptly and were actually very tasty, giving us hope for the rest of the evening. However, by 9:45 PM—nearly two hours later—we were still waiting for our pasta dishes. Meanwhile, we noticed that the table behind us, which had arrived an hour after us, had already received their main courses. I politely asked a waiter about the delay, and instead of giving me an honest explanation (which turned out to be that the cook forgot our order), he made up an excuse about their kitchen being split between two cooks. Unsatisfied with the unclear response, I asked another staff member—who I later learned was one of the owners, or at least he said so. Instead of addressing my concerns calmly, he became shockingly aggressive. He told me in a dismissive and rude tone that delays are part of the "risk" of eating in such restaurants, and if I didn’t like it, I should leave. His exact words in Italian were, “A zi', la porta sta là, ,se nun te sta bene te ne puoi pure annà”—meaning, “Bro, there is the door; if you don’t like it, leave!” I was stunned by his hostility. When I translated his remarks to my friends, we unanimously decided it was time to leave, as it’s completely unacceptable to be treated this way. However, the situation escalated further when I asked him for the check so we could pay and leave. Instead of bringing the bill, he completely lost control, shouting more rude remarks at us and refusing to let us pay. He effectively kicked us out of the restaurant while continuing to insult us. We were left feeling humiliated and utterly shocked by the behavior of someone who is supposed to be running a professional establishment. If you value respect, decent service, and a pleasant dining atmosphere, I strongly recommend avoiding this place at all costs. No customer should ever experience such treatment.

Éramos un grupo de seis personas (siendo yo el único italiano) y teníamos una reserva para 8 : 00 PM. Cuando llegamos a las 8: 05 PM, nuestra mesa no estaba lista, y el personal tuvo que configurar una rápidamente apretando una mesa en la habitación. Esto estaba completamente bien para nosotros, y esperamos pacientemente afuera mientras lo preparaban. Una vez sentados, pedimos bebidas, aperitivos y platos principales. Los aperitivos llegaron rápidamente y en realidad eran muy sabrosos, lo que nos da esperanza para el resto de la noche. Sin embargo, antes del 9 : 45 PM —casi dos horas después— todavía estábamos esperando nuestros platos de pasta. Mientras tanto, notamos que la mesa detrás de nosotros, que había llegado una hora después que nosotros, ya había recibido sus platos principales. Cortésmente le pregunté a un camarero sobre el retraso, y en lugar de darme una explicación honesta (que resultó ser que el cocinero olvidó nuestro pedido) , inventó una excusa sobre que su cocina estaba dividida entre dos cocineros. Insatisfecho con la respuesta poco clara, le pregunté a otro miembro del personal, que luego supe que era uno de los propietarios. Nos quedamos sintiéndonos humillados y completamente impactados por el comportamiento de alguien que se supone que está dirigiendo un establecimiento profesional. Si valoras el respeto, un servicio decente y un ambiente agradable para comer, recomiendo encarecidamente evitar este lugar a toda costa. Ningún cliente debe experimentar tal tratamiento.

Really delicious pistachio pesto with tagliatelle. Lasagna and canolo also very good. Service as it is. One extremely nice, funny, communicative and courteous, one neutrally friendly and one who didn't really make you feel welcome. Still worth a visit. Anyway, I'm looking forward to the good food and the nice waiter next time.

Pasta is tasty but not particularly special either. Authentic with good value for money and I also found the store likeable overall. I would go again if I'm in the area and feel like pasta.

The pasta was fantastic and so was the wine. In my opinion, the small dining room was quite full of tables and very, very narrow. We were there with the family and after 2 hours we were asked to clear the table for new guests. This was already communicated in advance, but I still think it's a shame that 6 people who would have been willing to continue drinking and ordering food were then asked to leave.

I actually didn't want to reveal how good it was at Marcos Tirelli's so that his little restaurant wouldn't be overrun. Others have now done that, without a reservation you have to be very lucky to get a table. There is only antipasti and pasta, but it is legendary, comes freshly prepared in good portions and is simply fun! The times when Marco gave a one-man performance with mom at the stove are history, a fast and friendly team ensures full glasses and short waiting times. The house wines are good and cheap, but there are also selected fine wines. Tirellis is a real pearl for pasta fans!

We were there to celebrate our anniversary, we ordered three pasta dishes, one of which was supposed to be Ravioli with truffle filling. The dish came with Spinat ricotta filling and we sent it back. After some time the lady brought the supposed right dish and told us that their supplier sent them packages of ravioli which are mixed up so some might be with Spinat and some with truffle, which we believed until we started eating the dish and realized that ALL the raviolis were filled with Spinat and they had a truffle sause on the top which was from another dish (Pasta with truffle- saw people eating it next to us)...I have to mention here, we were not asked whether we still want the dish despite the mix-up and when we told her that all of them were Spinat-filled she said nothing. Not even apologized. It is extremely unprofessional to bullshit us like this. They obviously used the first raviolis which were brought to us, put some sauce on top and sell them us a mix-up! To top this up the other two dishes were extremely salty (both had Guanciale) and the place was very cold. All and all it was a bad experience and I just hope that it was coincidental. Unfortunately though the bullshiting shows general mentality and unprofessionalism.

Amazing pasta bowls!! The Bolognese and the Carbonara were fantastic, now I have to come back for the Truffle one. Great atmosphere as well, right in front of the park, in a sunny location.

MAMMA MIA!!!! Come with a big appetite and be ready to moan and groan and interrupt your conversation repeatedly because of how unbelievably delicious it is and seemingly gets better with every bite… Perfectly al dente fresh pasta, incredible choice of sauces, big portions, reasonable price, nothing fancy, nothing pretentious - this will be my go to place for a comfort food meal. My friend and I shared both plates - pistachio & stracciatella and truffle - we liked truffle a bit better because we felt pistachio was a bit less flavourful - would be leveled up with chilli flakes! Will dream about this pasta until I come back.

Cozy place and fantastic carbonara!!

The pasta is simply very good. Price-performance ratio extremely good. It's not for a meal that needs a special atmosphere, but it's definitely suitable for top pasta in the evening and then moving on.

Delicious food and the chef with the long hair (with a pigtail) is really nice. If you get the waiter with a mustache, you've unfortunately "lost". We ordered truffle pasta and pasta with carbonara sauce and truffles from the special menu on the wall (priced at €16). A) there was no truffle in the carbonara (it was still tasty and we thought that the waiter might have accidentally misunderstood us) and b) we later noticed on the bill that we had been charged €18 for a perfectly normal carbonara . That was probably just an accident...

I need to edit this unfortunately. Although the pasta is very good and at a very fair price. The service I received the other night was abysmal. I was charged extra for something I've always had for free at this location. The way the waiter behaved though was exceptionally rude. To put this in perspective, this was one of my go to places in the neighborhood, now I'll not be returning.

Everything was just right. Super tasty, authentic food, great service and nice ambience at an affordable price. I could eat here every day.

Very good Italian restaurant but unfortunately it has few seats inside and we had to sit at the outside tables as the temperature was low for us.

The food is very tasty and most of the staff are very friendly, with the exception of the one waiter who pretended to be the boss. My girlfriend ordered first and he understood everything. He then asked me what I wanted to eat. I kindly ordered a Cola Zero and the truffle pasta that I usually eat there. Apparently he didn't understand me and then started asking me in English what I would like to order. I was surprised because he understood my girlfriend's German and said "Oh, you don't know German?", then he gave me an extremely stupid saying "I'm the boss, this is my restaurant!" in a rather cheeky way and arrogant tone. I was pretty upset and amazed because I've never experienced anything like that before, even though it's his job to serve his customers in a friendly manner and as a supposed boss!? I really don't know what hormones were hitting him at that moment, but it was pretty rude. On top of that, he brought my friend her drink and not me. I have never experienced anything so cheeky and absurd in my life.

Extremely good authentic pasta! A bottle of tap water is available at the table free of charge as standard. 50€ for 3 very good pasta dishes and two glasses of wine. No brainer! Definitely come here and test it out. Last but not least, very nice staff.

Nice little Italian restaurant next to a park. Perfect for eating outside or for a small gathering. It has basically just pasta. But if you are doing something simple, make it good. And that’s what they do it there.

Were there for my mother's 70th birthday. Service was bottom drawer. Never again!

Food was okay, unfortunately the terrible service ruined this. We ordered 3 dishes including a Bolognese for my little son. Unfortunately this came over 20 minutes after the other two dishes. We were told not to be “demanding”. If I could I wouldn't give a star. Absolutely not recommended if you want to eat at the same time.

The food and drinks are super delicious. The noodles are handmade. There is a choice between different pasta dishes and a changing daily menu. However, the staff becomes unfriendly if you don't tip extraordinarily, which I think is a shame and ruins the experience a bit in the end. I mean, everyone gives what they can...

Tirelli's is an absolute must for all Italy lovers in Berlin! The homemade pasta is simply delicious and the prices can't be beat.

Discovered by chance and was there twice in one week of vacation :-) As an absolute pasta lover, I was in paradise here. Super tasty and homemade pasta at a fair price. Staff very nice and accommodating. We'll be back! The Aperol is also highly recommended!!

This is the second time I come here and it is still so delicious. The terrace was beautiful last year and now even more beautiful and cozy, the atmosphere is Italian and very good. You have two time slots in which you can make a reservation between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM and 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM. You may think that is short, but with the service here you have plenty of time. There is a water carafe everywhere on the table and cutlery is ready. You immediately receive the menu and the food is quickly reserved. And the food is very good and fresh. In short, this is the ideal place in Berlin to eat a very good original Italian meal Ciao

Delicious & simple Italian cuisine at a fair price. The fresh pasta is really great, the bolognese nothing special, no authentic ragu. Unfortunately it is also very, very crowded and cramped on a main street.

Great service, only one Vorspeise tho, was really tasty. We had carbonara and pesto pasta! Super flavorful ⭐️

The food is very delicious, pasta always al dente. But after the last two times I went, I had gastrointestinal problems for the next two or three days. I guess they should check the hygiene.
