I've been there twice, once at lunchtime and once in the evening. In the evening the dishes and service were good, although not outstanding. At lunchtime we found the dishes boring in terms of taste and appearance, and the selection of vegetables was very limited - not to say minimalistic. Quite a shame for the price. The service was... well, present... to take the order, put the food down and clear it away and pay the bill. All in all, we think there is a lot of room for improvement.

I would say that it the best Vietnamese restaurant in Munich so more! The food is fresh and really authentic! They have some cuisine that we can not find in other restaurants! However, I think reservations is highly recommended! The space is small but really special for 90-2000 era of Vietnamese!

Might be my new favorite Vietnamese. The owner is very personable and knows her craft. If you have specific requests, you should call her the day before and tell her what you would like her to cook. Be sure to reserve here! The store is very busy.

Unfortunately, this was a bad experience. The food we had (Pad Thai and Chicken) was awful. Their homemade drinks weren’t good either. The service was alright but nothing special. They offered us free dessert which was thoughtful, but we refused. The atmosphere would have been average, if our chairs wouldn’t have been sat through and the tablecloth dirty. Seeing the other reviews, we were quite surprised that our experience was that bad. Therefore we can’t recommend this place.

Very delicious and authentic vietnamese food

We have been coming to celebrate birthdays for 4 years. All very tasty. Both the rolls and vit go vi (i.e. the duck that you roll yourself in rice paper). Prices have risen, as everywhere else, but are still moderate for Munich standards. Our waiter was extremely nice and the food came quickly. Tables are big enough but a bit close to each other. You should reserve in advance and perhaps come by public transport, as parking is difficult there. €30 per person including drinks

Such a wonderful place, super delicious food, we were even allowed to eat with the locals/family in the back area, it was so authentic and Thuy is super friendly even though she has been working so hard every day for decades. We'd love to come back

The food at the restaurant is okay, not as special as advertised. However, what made me dissatisfied was the Vietnamese employee's unprofessional service. I hadn't finished my meal yet but my dishes were taken away. My attitude in responding to guests was unpleasant, as if I wanted to chase them away. This feels very disrespectful and not polite. The only plus point is that Mr. Thuy (the owner) is very cute, friendly and welcoming. But the service staff is really reprehensible. She needs to be retrained in social interactions so she can work in this field. Hopefully the restaurant will improve this issue so customers have a better experience in the future. The food at this restaurant is okay, but it's not as great as advertised. What really disappointed me was the unprofessional attitude of the Vietnamese waitress. She started clearing my plates before I even finished eating, and her responses to customers were rude, almost as if she wanted to chase us away. It felt very disrespectful and impolite. The only highlight of my experience was the owner, Ms. Thuy, who was extremely kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the behavior of the waitress was truly unacceptable. She needs proper training in social and customer service skills to continue working in this field. I hope the restaurant addresses this issue to improve the customer experience in the future.

Although the food was delicious and Ms. Thuy is also very sweet, I heard some bad words when the waitress was talking to the staff in the kitchen. I'm a student, I don't have a lot of money and I just want to order a small portion to save. But the attitude of the staff makes me uncomfortable 😢

Thúy is a lovely restaurant with authentic Vietnamese food. The dishes are delicious and freshly prepared. The owners are very friendly - you immediately feel welcome. The restaurant is comfortably furnished, perfect for a relaxing evening. Definitely worth a visit!

Best Banh Canh Cua I have eaten in Germany

The food is very good for Munich standards! Since I come from Berlin, I'm unfortunately a bit spoiled and am therefore deducting a star from this point. However, I recommend the restaurant simply because of its authenticity and, above all, because of the super friendly owners! I have rarely experienced something like this where I felt like I was Vietnamese, like I was visiting my long-lost aunt and uncle. They even included 3 bottles of wine for the large visit of around 20 people. You quickly notice what a lovely person she is and how much passion goes into the shop. However, you should make a reservation at least a day in advance or let us know before you come over with so many people, as the restaurant is not that big. In short, it is a very family atmosphere and the food is of very good quality, Great recommendation!

Really disappointing experience here. The Mai Tai cocktail my friend ordered was the worst cocktail I’ve ever had - alcohol and juice just thrown together, not mixed whatsoever. Tasted abysmal. The noodle dish we got in the clay pot was nothing spectacular, not much flavor. The other various meat or rice dishes weren’t very appetizing either. I wouldn’t recommend seeking this place out, there are far better Asian restaurants here

Overrated and overpriced. Average staple Asian food from not too fresh ingredients

The food was okay, but I was served by a very unfriendly older man who was clearly annoyed because I was there with a stroller. “Unfortunately” I cannot park my 8 month old child outside. If you are not welcome with a stroller, you can point this out in a more friendly manner and bring out the food you ordered. When I asked about the price (doesn't match those on the homepage, it's significantly more expensive in the restaurant), I was just insulted in an incomprehensible manner. Very unfortunate. Unfortunately, I can't confirm the friendly service and it ultimately spoiled my appetite.

Good authentic Vietnamese southern food and very hospitable owners

I don't normally write reviews but... If you really want to go out for authentic Vietnamese food in Munich, you should take advantage of this insider tip. The restaurant is run by a Vietnamese family who are happy to explain how each dish is typically consumed. We have often been to Vietnamese restaurants in Berlin or Cologne as tourists, but we reserved a table straight away in three days.

The food is pretty good compared to other Vietnamese restaurants around Europe. I wouldn’t say it’s one of the best because I’ve experienced better ones in Europe, but it was decent. However the service was not so good. The staff were quite grumpy and we didn’t feel very welcomed. Maybe they had a bad day or something but that really affected our experience overall.

It was very nice to enjoy not only southern but also authentic taste of Vietnamese cuisine here. 1. Starter: we ordered Banh Xeo and Thap Cam cho 2 nguoi. Both were authentic, I can say. Main course: our group tried many dishes. Com Tam (broken rice) and Bun Bo Hue are recommended. Dessert: Che Chuoi (coconut milk bananas) tasted good. It would probably be much better if it was served in a larger portion 😭 2. I am originally from Ho Chi Minh City, where the cuisine is somewhat influenced by Chinese tastes (i.e. Cho Lon quan 5). Here you will find some delicious dishes with a Vietnamese-Chinese mixture.

Hello cô Thúy, with là Linh nè! When I came to Munich for the second time, a friend took me to Ms. Thuy's restaurant. The first impression is that the restaurant is very cozy, the decor is very “Vietnamese”. The food was very tasty, especially the Bún Cá. The broth has a strong taste of home (just like my grandmother always cooked it) ☺️. The Bún Mắm was also a highlight of the restaurant. Ms. Thuy is super sweet, I was lucky enough to chat with her and I really like her. I hope to come back to Munich soon to enjoy the delicious dishes. Con cảm ơn cô!

The food is good, but nothing special. I've had better Vietnamese food. Unfortunately, the service is subpar. The waiter's demeanor was bordering on insolent. The ambience is fine. You're already sitting very close to each other.

I stayed in Munich for 3 days, and apart from the times I had to eat Western food on tours, I made an effort to visit Ms. Thuy's restaurant for every other meal, even though her restaurant was not close to my hotel and required taking two U-Bahn trains and a 10-minute walk. I found information about Ms. Thuy's restaurant when I searched on Google for Vietnamese restaurants in Munich that serve broken rice. Quality of the food: I tried fresh spring rolls, crab tapioca noodle soup, broken rice, fermented fish noodle soup, beef noodle soup, sweet and sour soup, Vietnamese pancake, Thai dessert, banana dessert, and kumquat salted lemonade. When eating, I could feel her meticulous care in every dish. Each dish was authentically Vietnamese and perfectly seasoned, despite the limitations of Vietnamese ingredients in Germany. If I had to choose the two most impressive dishes, they would be the crab tapioca noodle soup and the broken rice with grilled pork chop, shredded pork skin, and steamed egg meatloaf (though all the other dishes were also very delicious). I finished the entire bowl of crab tapioca noodle soup, something I never do in Vietnam. I later asked the owner and learned that Ms. Thuy does not use MSG, and the noodles are homemade rather than bought frozen udon. There was an abundant amount of crab in each bowl, making it worth every penny. You can ask the kitchen to remove the crab meat if you don't want to pick it off slowly. In my opinion, this is the best crab tapioca noodle soup I have ever had, so I ordered it twice during my three meals there. The broken rice was as delicious as in Saigon: the pork chop was tender and flavorful, the steamed egg meatloaf was tasty, and the shredded pork skin was exceptionally good, even though I know pork in Germany tends to have a strong smell. Most notably, the fish sauce was perfectly balanced. The drinks and desserts were not overly sweet, which I really liked. Service attitude: The staff were cheerful, welcoming, and enthusiastic. To have such a team, the owner must be a kind, decent, and upright person. I had the chance to talk to Ms. Thuy, and she was truly wonderful. Price: Cheaper than the quality would suggest, compared to other Vietnamese restaurants I ate at in Prague, Salzburg, and Zurich. If I have the chance to return to Munich, I will definitely visit her restaurant again.

I ordered crab meat udon noodles. There was a lot of crab meat, but the udon noodles were really average. After waiting for 40 minutes, I was recommended by Xiaohongshu. It might be better to eat a bowl of pho. The service is very good. I believe the experience will be better if I don’t order crab udon noodles! Mistake!

Very authentic place. Unlike many viet restaurants that only have curry and pho, there are many local dishes that I haven’t seen before. Super tasty and staff are also very friendly.

Very nice time at Thuy. Bangers were the starters to share, the spring roll (meat), the Thuy ente and the mango salad! Highly recommend, tried like a few Vietnamese fishes that I haven't tried before. Good service as well. I would avoid the vegetarian spring roll, the summer rolls were just ok.

This place was good! The food tasted delicious especially the Cơm Tấm. The Bánh Canh was also really tasty. I would highly recommend the Cơm Tấm (broken rice) and the Bún Bò Huế (spicy beef vermicelli soup). The people there were really kind, respectful and provided amazing service. This restraurant was also very authentic. However, the food took A LOT of time and it was a little bit pricy. Overall, this was an okay restraurant and I would recommend it if your patient and we will still be back next time.

Ich habe Pad Thai mit Tofu zum Abholen bestellt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und geht auf Extrawünsche ohne Probleme ein. Leider sind die Preise gestiegen und auf der Website noch nicht angepasst, aber das Essen war wirklich sehr lecker und mir wurde als Geschenk noch eine Nachspeise mitgegeben. So ein Restaurant unterstütze ich gerne!

Essen an sich nicht schlecht. Insgesamt aber mehr Imbissfeeling in dem Restaurant. In einer Lokalität dieser Preisklasse erwarte ich definitiv das der Hauptgang einem nicht auf den Tisch geknallt wird während man noch die Vorspeise isst. Sollte besser getaktet werden. Wollte einen Aperitif/Coktail ohne Alkohol. Auf der Karte stand alle Coktails können auch ohne Alkohol serviert werden. Möglich war dann komischerweise gar nichts, vorgeschlagen wurde auch keine Alternative. Schade.

Spontan angerufen und einen Tisch reserviert. Kleiner gemütlicher Laden, freundliche Bedienung (Chefin). Karte studiert und festgestellt, Banh xeo steht nicht drauf! Bei der Chefin nachgefragt, ja kein Problem, bekommen wir. Es gibt zwei Karten, eine für deutsche Gäste und noch eine zweite für asiatische Gäste, da gibt es zusätzlich noch ein paar Spezialitäten. Vorspeisen, Hauptgerichte und Desserts bestellt, alles sehr lecker und frisch! Schwer so gutes vietnamesische Gerichte in Deutschland zu finden. Hat wirklich an unseren Vietnam Urlaub erinnert. Absolut zu empfehlen.

What an awful experience, terrible service!

Ich bin Vietnamesin! Ich betrat das Lokal und sah viele leere Tische. Auf den Tischen waren jedoch keine Reservierungsschilder zu sehen. Ich wählte sofort einen Tisch für vier Personen in der Nähe des Eingangs. Der Kellner kam heraus, ich fragte ihn, ob der Tisch bereits reserviert sei, er bestätigte, dass dies nicht der Fall sei. Ich setzte mich beruhigt hin und bestellte mein Essen. Kurze Zeit später kam Frau Thuý heraus und fragte mich, warum ich hier saß. Ich erklärte, dass der Kellner bestätigt hatte, dass der Tisch nicht reserviert sei. Sie sagte, dass der Tisch bereits reserviert sei und fragte mich, ob ich zu einem Zweiertisch wechseln könne. Wenn man nach rechts schaute, gab es nur einen freien Doppeltisch, der jedoch direkt neben einem anderen Doppeltisch stand, wo schon eine andere Frau saß. Ich fragte sie, ob es drinnen noch einen anderen Zweiertisch gab. Sie führte mich hinein und zeigte einen Vierertisch auf der rechten Seite, der jedoch mit Geschirr, Kuchen, Obst und ähnlichem überladen war. Wahrscheinlich setzten sich ihre Mitarbeiter normalerweise zum Essen. Sie schob das Zeug in die Ecke und sagte mir, dass ich dort sitzen solle, obwohl gegenüber ein anderer freier Vierertisch stand. Ich lehnte ab, an dem mit Zeug überladenen Tisch zu sitzen, und ging zu dem anderen freien Vierertisch. Zum Essen: Der erste Gang, ein Salat, wurde von dem jungen Kellner serviert, aber es gab keine Löffel, Gabeln oder Servietten auf dem Tisch. Ich bat um Stäbchen und Servietten, er gab mir nur Stäbchen (wahrscheinlich hat er mich nicht richtig gehört), und erst auf meine erneute Nachfrage brachte der andere Kellner Servietten. Zur Bewertung des Essens: 2 von 10 Punkten. Der Salat war zu sauer, wahrscheinlich zu viel Essig; das Rindfleisch-Nudelsuppen-Gericht war zu fade, als ob es ohne Salz gekocht worden wäre. Als ich um Gewürze bat, bekam ich Fischsauce, aber auch damit schmeckte es fade. Ich versuchte, es zu essen, um das Geld nicht zu verschwenden, aber das Essen war nicht lecker, nur schön anzusehen. Besonders enttäuschend war die Servicebewertung: 1 von 10 Punkten. Obwohl ich immer noch 10 % Trinkgeld gab, sollten die Kellner ihre Einstellung gegenüber den Gästen überdenken. Früher, als ich mit Freunden hier war, waren die Kellner sehr freundlich, aber dieses Mal war ich enttäuscht von der Art und Weise, wie mir gesagt wurde, mich an den überfüllten Tisch zu setzen. I really love the food and people at the restaurant. As a Vietnamese, I think this place is one of the best authentic Vietnamese restaurants in München. You can try all authentic Vietnamese cuisines from North, Middle and South Vietnam at one place. Highly recommend: Banh cuon & Banh bot loc - Steamed Rolled Rice Pancake (the special cuisine from the Middle Vietnam), Com Tam - Broken rice (the special from South Vietnam) and Bun Dau Mam Tom - Rice Noodles with fermented shrimp paste (the special one from North Vietnam).

Da ein anderes Restaurant unsere Reservierung für 11 Leute an einem Samstag Abend in den Sand setzte, suchten wir spontan nach einem anderen Restaurant. Angerufen - gefragt ob sie spontan einen Platz für uns haben - keine 30 Minuten später waren wir da und die Tische vorbereitet. Gutes Essen, nette Leute, nettes kleines Restaurant. Bei der Auswahl ist für jeden etwas dabei. :-)

Wow this place was amazing! Ate everything before the phone got a chance to take a pic but we had the Buddha rolls, Phó, and Tofu Clay Pot. Everything was out of this world and despite a language barrier the staff was very friendly and helpful for us to order. Highly recommend and seemed like you need reservations though we were able to walk in around 530pm
