The Rooftop Restaurant im Oberpollinger in München

I aways get the pasta, they make it right infront of you when you pick out the veggies you want, choice of pasta and choice of meat on top. Amazing view and feeling sitting on the terrace on a sunny day

It could pass for the typical cafeteria of a department store, but the truth is that you have dishes made at the same time, great variety and the product is tasty. If you are lucky you can go to the private ones in the form of Cabins. It's not cheap but not expensive either, around €20 with dessert and drink and a single dish

Food looks very tasty. But the prices are really steep. It is an open buffet and the plate is weighed at the checkout —> 33€/kg!!! A drink and a plate: 22€.

Far too expensive for this poor quality. Examples: Lamb's lettuce unwashed and still full of sand. Has a nice crunch when chewing. Absolute no go! Couscous not even salted, pasta salad tasteless, chicken nuggets lukewarm and tough. Cake dry and crumbly. I can't recommend it even for small meals.

We found a very special atmosphere, Christmas, cozy, surprising, outdoors: private mini cabins with heating, which made us feel very pampered and happy. We accompanied our experience with a really good cheese fondue, and Glühwein. We were truly very happy with this experience.

Breakfast buffet is very confusing. Many things are not included (juice, white sausage). There were no fried eggs. Ambience needs improvement: very long distances if you want to see the skyline.

Uncooked rice and unfortunately doesn't taste good, a shame for the money

It is very convenient. There is a toilet in the buffet. It is free, but you can leave a tip.

Today I chose the business menu, salmon in a herb coating with spinach and boiled potatoes. There was also a bowl of remoulade sauce. Unfortunately, the spinach was bitter and the herb coating, which was more like a kind of pancake batter, was sweet. And apparently the business menu included a drink, but no one, not even at the checkout, pointed that out to me. Otherwise, the restaurant's location and facilities are pleasant, the roof terrace has a wonderful view, and the ambience has a certain 1970s retro charm, which I personally like. But there is still a lot of work that can be done to improve the taste of many dishes. And slowly, good vegan alternatives for both food and cakes should be added to the range. Even a lactose intolerant person has problems choosing cakes and desserts

So the terrace and the nice weather took a bit out of it. Some of the food looked like frozen food, the cake from the bakery next door and too sweet.

Excellent chicken, prepared on the spot by a very nice lady. The broccoli had been lying around for a while and was mediocre. The potato croquettes were also not as good as I am used to (and I am talking about potato croquettes from the supermarket). Unfortunately, the fried potatoes were not available at that time. Thanks to the chicken, 4 stars

The food is okay at best, but it's nice to sit on the roof terrace. In winter the Christmas market is very nice.

A great place to rest if you get tired from shopping

We come here every time we are in Munich. The restaurant is above the rooftops in the center of Munich in the old town and therefore offers a great view outside! They have a large selection of dishes that you can put together yourself or take with you ready-made. These include salads, bowls that you can have mixed, but also a grill, an Asian grill, lasagne and pasta dishes, grilled vegetable pans and home-style cooking. The staff is actually very nice but at the Asian grill today they were rather rude. I wanted to have vegetables and fish served with oyster sauce, but no rice with it. The woman at the counter said I couldn't use vegetables for the pasta because they already had vegetables with them. When I took a second bowl and put the seafood in it, she wanted me to pay double the price. In the end, after a long discussion, I simply told her to leave out the side dish (rice or noodles) entirely... However, I was able to clarify the situation with her boss. The oyster sauce with the vegetables and seafood tasted incredibly good and my salads and grilled vegetables were also very tasty. With the large selection, I can recommend the restaurant to everyone, vegetarians, vegans as well as meat and fish lovers of different cuisines.

We recently had a day of shopping in Oberpollinger and in between we wanted to go upstairs Restaurant lunch. The last time we weren't happy with the quality. But this time it was simply inedible. We wanted turkey schnitzel, these were out and we were recommended chicken schnitzel as an alternative. The schnitzels must have been under the heat lamp for ages, so the edges were already dried out and it was an absolute disaster, they only tasted like fish. Simply disgusting. Either these schnitzels were baked out in the fat like the pollock fillet or (hopefully not 🙏🏼) they were already cooked. Then we also ordered a crusty roast and got a fatty roast pork. But because of the mass processing, we only noticed it at the table at that moment. Well, we could have complained, it was all hell breaking loose at the time, really loud and we didn't want to stay up there any longer. We will not eat here again and will not recommend it. The result is that Oberpollinger is now visited less.

I was on 28 May for lunch here. I ordered the Asian wok where you put the raw veggies and meat together and get it cooked. I ordered Thai curry as a sauce for my order and when it was cooked, it looked so dry like there was no sauce. I asked the Thai lady cook for more sauce and she refused, my husband stepped in to ask on my behalf and she angrily chucked sauce over my food and grumbled there was sauce already in my food. What bad service and this Thai food didn't even taste good from Asian cooks! Luckily I asked for extra sauce or else the whole dish was too dry!!! I like the ambience but staff service at this Wok station is bad!!!

All very good. I ate and drank coffee here very often. Always very good. Today I wanted schnitzel with fries. I enjoyed it very much.

Very diverse range, always consistently good quality and the price-performance ratio is also right. We love coming here for breakfast, lunch or afternoon coffee. A visit to the rooftop restaurant is always worth it and in summer you can sit on the terrace.

1 star because you can't give 0!!!!! The prices are ridiculous. For a 0.75 liter water bottle, a small salad plate and two normal portions we have 50€!!!!!!!! paid. Plates were weighed and the cashier was unfriendly. Not recommendable!

Great location in the center of Munich. The food is varied and also cheap. Large space offers enough meeting opportunities. Would recommend.

I specifically went to Oberpollinger after shopping to have a beer outside in the great weather. But I was surprised to find that I was chased off the terrace... A warning about the expensive purchase of a beer would have been nice.

I liked the variety in the buffets, they cook customized pasta on the spot and the desserts buffet was so rich, has an outdoor terrace for smokers or if you prefer outdoor, in general is very big area so even on weekends that is crowded, you will still find a table. I liked very much as has many spots to seat and many things to try. It’s inside the mall on the rooftop.

Very intrusive music, more like whining. Took apple strudel, the worst ever, apple pieces mushy, no bite, strudel dough floury, unbaked, raw inside and below. Inedible. In addition, I nearly choked on a large and hard apple stalk!! Then the climax at the checkout, a customer in front of me had the special price meal too late, and the cashier said it now costs more, then the customer said, no, she doesn't pay anymore, she didn't see the sign and got loud, so she left it on cashed it and gave in. However, I was so close to it and paid the higher amount!! You feel completely stupid and treated unfairly. Please make sure and instruct the cashier that the same law applies to everyone and not to whoever has the loudest mouth!! Of course management now says I should have complained directly, but I don't see the effort involved in finding someone. The first and last time for me.

Food is ok, big variety, staff are not friendly. One of the staff told me that I was not allowed to take pictures of the food!

Such a huge choice of different meals. Breakfast options in the morning. On a sunny day, you should come early to get a seat on their beautiful terrace outside. Cake is great. For Muslim clients, there is a wudhu as well as prayer area on the same level.

Die etwa 40 oder 50-jährigen vietnamesischen (oder thailändischen, mir nicht so sicher) Mitarbeiterin mit schwarzen Brillen mit quadratischem Rand waren sehr unhöflich, arrogant und dreist! Gar KEINE HYGIENE! Sie griff sogar mit der Hand nach dem Essen, das dem Gast gereicht werden sollte! Eklig!!!!!! Das ist ja EKELHAFT!!!!!! Wer möchte schon mit solch respektloser und arroganter Verachtung behandelt werden, wenn er für Essen bezahlt?

Traumhaft der Ausblick und die Auswahl an Essen?

So gut wie jedesmal wenn ich in der Stadt unterwegs bin, besuche ich das Rooftop im Oberpollinger. Ich finde immer mal wider was neues leckeres zum Essen und auch die Kuchen Auswahl ist gigantisch und einfallsreich. Zu empfehlen ist in jeder Hinsicht der Schweinebraten, sehr saftig und mit einer schönen und leckeren Kruste. Ich komme immer wider gerne.

Salad and sweet was nice, pasta was ok asian vegitale rice was ok too

War gestern zum ersten Mal dort essen und war positiv überrascht. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an diversen Speisen. Das Teriyaki Huhn und das Mandeleis haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Terrasse ist groß und gemütlich zum draußen sitzen.

Überschätzt, ungepflegte Dachterrasse. Tische und Stühle ohne Ordnung, übervolle Aschenbecher...

Schönes Ambiente, besonders auf der Dachterasse mit Blick auf den Justizpalast. Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis beim All you can eat Brunch ist top, zumal alle Kaffeespezialitäten inclusive sind.

In general, it's all good. But this place needs more staff seriously and immediately. All staff were unhappy due to the poor work environment. Too many tasks for one person.

Richtig schön. Selbstbedienung im Restaurant, sowie auf der Dachterrasse. Reservierung nicht möglich. Frühzeitig da sein, oder wenn möglich, die Aussicht unter der Woche in ruhiger Atmosphäre genießen. Essen mega Auswahl. Von Indisch, bis bayrisch über kaltes und süßes Buffet alles da. Ein Wagen für sie Tablett Ablage, erleichtert das Tragen bis zum Platz.

Dit warenhuis beschikt over een aangenaam dakterras. Omwille van het openingsuur tot 19u30 dachten wij hier om 18u30 nog te kunnen dineren maar we moesten vaststellen dat het grootste deel van het buffet reeds gesloten was. We vonden er alleen nog wat sudderende groentjes en dessert.

Preis/ Leistung hat leider nicht gepasst. Vegetarische Linsencurry hat nach nichts geschmeckt, war lauwarm und das für fast 13€.

Restaurant welches im Warenhaus Oberpollinger integriert ist. Es gilt hier größtenteils Selbstbedienung; die Warm- und Kaltspeisen sind appetitlich hergerichtet. Zudem ist die Auswahl beachtlich und sollte alle verschieden Geschmäcker und Geschmacksrichtungen abdecken. Ebenfalls gibt eine große Auswahl an Süßspeisen und Torten. Die große Dachterrasse bietet einen herrlichen Ausblick in Richtung alter botanischer Garten und Lehnbachpalais. Top und empfehlenswert.

Very very good food, a bit expensive, but the veraiety is unbelievable. I ate raw matias with vegetables and dessert cheese cake plus grapefruit juice freshly squeezed. 😋

Nichts spricht dagegen dort zu Essen, wenn man Eile hat. Gute Auswahl an frisch zubereiteten Speisen, freundliches Personal. Wenn ich in der Stadt bin, esse ich gerne dort. Keine überzogenen Preise, wie sonst in Münchens Innenstadt

Grosses weitläufiges Restaurant mit toller Dachterrasse. Hervorragend um schnell beim shoppen etwas gutes zu Essen. Immer wieder gerne!

Immer noch eines der schönsten und gleichzeitig günstigsten Möglichkeiten mitten in München zu Frühstücken.

Удобно расположен ресторан на верхнем этаже торгового центра, удобно встретиться большой компанией, имейте ввиду, что хоть это ресторан, но тут самообслуживание, есть еда вкусная, есть не очень, например, я большой любитель супов, но тут они мне здесь не очень нравятся по вкусу, в остальном еда по типу домашней, хорошо приготовлена из свежих продуктов, можно полезно пообедать. Красивый вид на город. Атмосфера внутри ресторана: может быть очень оживленно, даже шумно, на мой взгляд, не хватает хорошего освещения, несмотря на панорамные окна в пол.

Das ehemalige Karstadt - Restaurant ist für mich immer wieder ein grosses Lob wert. Die Idee, dem Kunden ein Buffet anzubieten kommt gut an. Aber die Auswahl an Pastazugaben hat sich verringert. Dafür finde ich das vegane Angebot gut - es gab Gemüse - Lasagne. Ich finde das Restaurant sehr empfehlenswert!

It is quite and spacious restaurant. The service is self service, so you will have to walk to different counters with selection of food. Overall good place to eat in city center.
