We had the pulled pork. The first time we left a restaurant hungry. The taste was okay but the portion was the large one for an appetizer. Very disappointing 😞

Great Irish pub right on Großneumarkt. Nice staff, good beer and a really cozy interior. And the best thing: it is a non-smoking bar. I will definitely come back here more often.

No food on Tuesdays. Came to Hamburg with my parnter only for their shephard pie, waited in front until they opened. Then they just told us they don't serve food, no empathy at all. Nothing Irish about this experience.

There was nothing to eat that had not been announced anywhere before, but you were allowed to bring something with you from other shops.

I recommend the (affordable) Fish & Chips and had a great time tasting the draft beers...

A small Irish pub with a great atmosphere. However, the menu is noticeably small for a pub; classics like “Baby Guinness” are missing. Too bad! The staff is nice but was stressed. We were only served when we asked, but it was busy. Unfortunately, the door to the kitchen is always open, which is why you smell like grease when you sit near the kitchen...

This charming little pub boasts a delightful atmosphere and serves an excellent pint. They are exceptionally accommodating when it comes to food allergies, and I can't recommend them highly enough!

My child and I love the trad sessions at the Irish Rover, and they’ve been a special part of our Sundays for quite some time. However, during our last visit, I was deeply disappointed by how unwelcoming the environment felt toward us. My kid was excited about the music, as always, so we arrived a little early to ensure we were on time. While waiting for the music to start, he played quietly with his toys on the floor - something we were asked to stop, despite the pub being nearly empty and him not being in anyone's way. I understand that perhaps he was being a little too loud when expressing his joy dancing and playing at the start of the session, so since we had ordered food already, we moved back upstairs for dinner. As he waited for his chips to cool, he sat under the table with his toy, not disturbing anyone in the mostly empty pub. Yet we were asked to leave. As a single mom, I understand the importance of respecting public spaces, and I always strive to ensure my child is considerate. However, the lack of warmth and flexibility made us feel extremely unwelcome, especially being asked to leave so shortly after our food arrived. We didn't even get to finish or take home our meal. It’s disheartening when places don’t show understanding for the needs of their patrons. Having experienced the true spirit of community and togetherness in Ireland’s pubs, I was really saddened that this sense of inclusion wasn’t reflected here. I hope the staff can be more open and accommodating, especially during quieter times, so that the atmosphere becomes more inclusive for everyone - children included. Thank you.

The snacks, food and drinks were great. We took part in the pub quiz. The moderator was really funny and moderated it well. There was a lot of English spoken, which made it very authentic. The ambience was rustic and had a great atmosphere. The waiters were polite. The toilet was clean and hygienic. Recommendation goes out.

Cozy, great food (although sometimes small portions), with a surprisingly great vegan selection (!!!). Delicious draft beer, a good selection here too.

Very cozy and nice pub. We meet there with a group of 3-8 people every 2-3 weeks and always have a great evening. And my dog ​​is also allowed to come along and is greeted warmly by staff and guests. And if the glass is empty, it doesn't take long for a refill to be provided.

Service, food and drinks, the ambient all deserve a returning visit. Great place at a great location with very hard working, observant and kind personnel. The place works if you are going with a bigger company just to have some fun and drinks, to watch the game, but also works if you want a quiet drink, or a date or both with some live music. You can't go wrong at the Rover

The place is very good, the location is also very perfect. we drank beer and fuit juice. The taste was really good, the perfect german style beer. Loved that. Must visit this place if you are couple and spent a quality time.

I normally stay away from irish bars while away but popped into the irish rover while out doing some site seeing...and I'm glad I did...Guinness was as good as back home and the meals we had was just excellent..most places in hamburg was limited food wise.. train 200 yards away to central station if ur staying in the city.

Were there for the pub quiz. That was really great. Nice pub with a large selection of beers.

The selection of snacks for beer and whiskey is not small, which is good. Very liked the dark ale I ordered and jacket potatoes fried in batter.the only nuance - the waitress left one of these potatoes on my jacket and now there is a big grease stain)In general, I recommend visiting the place.

Incredible loaded curry fries and fish and chips for fair prices. We got a pretty relaxing spot in the basement on a busy weekend and on short notice too just when its full the air quality got a little bad. The drink selection was also nice.

Really nice here. My friend especially liked the fish and chips - and she knows how to judge it. There's chilling live music in the basement. Very comfortable to sit here and enjoy your Guinness.

Anyone who loves pubs will probably be in good hands there. Personally, I don't like it there. I don't know why it looks like it does in the picture in both women's toilets.

The last time I was in the Rover was “before Corona”. Visually, not much has changed at the moment, the staff is still great and the atmosphere is great with lots of native speakers. The menu has been adjusted and is now much smaller (always tends to be good) but our fish & chips and the vegetarian toast were very, very good. I miss the Irish cheese spinach with brown bread and the pasta in brandy sauce so much though! It's always been a reason for me to come there... I also think it's a shame that there's only one type of cider (among many types of beer). At least two varieties would be worthy of an Irish pub! I recently noticed that there is a Sunday Roast, typical of the British Isles, but we haven't tried it yet. We'll be back for Quiz Night again soon, let's see if it's as good as before. Update 01/2023: We haven't been able to get a place for the quiz twice now, once we were there at 5:10 p.m., it opened at 5 p.m. and the quiz starts at 7 p.m. - everything was occupied by people who reserved for their friends have... Really annoying. In the past, you could often still get a seat at 5:30 or 6 p.m. It would be really great if you could make reservations - if necessary, the places could be drawn from the requests or something like that to make it fair. But it's really no fun anymore and can't be planned at all, which is a shame. Luckily there are many nice restaurants in the area.

we visited here on a wet December evening, 4 adults, we were given 4 high seats near the bar, had a great chat with the great great staff, we ordered some snacks & eventually as a table was freed up, it was very quickly readied for us & we were seated...the food we ordered was just small plates but was lovely & hot, the service all evening was fantastic, the Guinness was great. two poured also, a really great welcome, with lovely staff well priced drinks & food , will most definitely highly recommend

We went here midweek and it wasn't too busy (but really started to fill up by the time we left!). Food was super yummy with a variety of classic Irish pub staples including shepherds pie and fish and chips. The veggie options were good too- vegan fish and chips was great! Very good drinks selection- happy to find Newcastle Brown on the menu! Only downside was the specials QR code was out of date so don't set your hopes on peaches and cream!

Ich sitze in der CineLounge der Hansa Filmstudios. Im Hintergrund läuft Musik aus den 50er und 60er Jahren 👍 Das Bier ist frisch und kalt, der Bacon-Mushroom-Burger war frisch zubereitet und lecker. Die Bedienung ist aufmerksam und doch zurückhaltend, sehr angenehm.

Tja, was soll ich sagen, die Biersorten sind super, nette und schnelle Bedienung. Überrascht war ich von dem echt frischen und leckeren Essen. Fish and chips... z. B. war echt lecker und die Kartoffelspalten auch frisch vorbereitet. Für ein Irish Pub, wo man grundlegend gutes Bier erwartet und dann zusätzlich vom Essen eine gute Qualität bekommt, einfach außerordentlich gut. Aus meiner Sicht die Nr. 1 derzeit in Hamburg.

Unexpected great food, friendly and quick service

Pie heaven. 2nd trip. We traveled miles just for the food and atmosphere. Staff really friendly. My husband had beef pie with the best mash ever tasted. I had vegetarian pie with veg gravy. Even had vegan pie. So well worth the travel. Beer swilled it down nicely. Food highly recommend

Die Küche ist sehr durchschnittlich. Die Biere sind gut. Mir fehlt allerdings das Guinness 0 %. Ich kenne es aus Irland und es schmeckt. Warum erhalte ich es nicht in Hamburg?

Schöner Ort zum besondere Biere probieren.

Wir waren gestern in diesem tollen irischen Pub zu Gast. Eine tolle, freundliche und lockere Atmosphäre. Der Kellner, der uns zuerst bediente war so zuvorkommend, dass sich viele andere, in anderen Lokalen, ein Beispiel daran nehmen könnten, aber auch alle anderen dort sind sehr sehr freundlich. Wir mussten auf Essen jeweils nicht lange warten. Wenn wir wieder mal in Hamburg sind, werden wir auf jeden Fall auch mal das Quiz mitmachen. Vielen Dank für einen schönen Abend.

Empfehle ich gerne, freundlicher Service, leckeres Essen. (Bier und Whisky sowieso...) Mehrere vegane Gerichte auf der Karte, und zwar nicht so 08/15 sondern schon eine Auswahl. Wir saßen draussen, kann also nichts über Interieur sagen, es war Quizabend und daher drinnen alle Tische besetzt.

Wir waren gestern zu dritt dort essen, nachdem wir vergeblich in der Umgebung nach etwas Veganem Ausschau gehalten haben. Dieser Irish Pub hat sehr viel Vegane Auswahl. Unser Essen war durchgehend wirklich sehr gut. Service war auch sehr freundlich. Würde auch mehr Sterne vergeben :)

One of the best Irish Pubs outside Ireland and the UK. I've spent many evenings there that turned into late nights. I used to come here often when I lived closeby, but now that I live in Berlin, I plan my visits to Hamburg in a way to make sure I have the time to go there. Guiness is always tasty and there's a great food menu as well, including many vegetarian and even vegan options. Super friendly staff. Absolutely gorgeous interior and clean facilities.

This is The place to go to watch a Premier League match or a German match. My son and I watched a few matches here last week . The atmosphere is electric and the staff are super friendly especially the girl from Kilkenny who gave us great info on things to do and places to see , sorry we didn't get your name but thank you .
