Good service, of course you can make mistakes but they try very hard and are very friendly. The food is somehow good but unfortunately the plates aren't served well in the end. It's better not to talk about it at all. It's best to go in with sunglasses and leave with sunglasses

Food super fresh and delicious. Ambience is just not worthy of a Thai. It's our fisherman's house. But you still sit okay.

The food is always delicious and the staff is so lovely and friendly! Mostly order for pickup. EDIT April 19, 2024: Today I got the wrong food (fish instead of vegetarian), then ordered the right one and had to pay extra for it again. In addition, it was almost 50% more expensive than it says in the menu on the Facebook page, which is a shame.

I have to admit we were a larger group, the team wasn't prepared for that, I can totally understand that. However, we didn't feel comfortable at all and had the impression that we were a burden to the staff. We ordered food and it actually came 2 hours later. One of our friends came 20 minutes later and had a rice dish. His food didn't come at all, we were told that the rice was empty. However, a couple came later than us and had rice. We asked why this is so. The statement then came that they had reserved. With all the love, customer friendliness was a foreign word here. We also received several cheeky responses when paying. I would definitely not recommend the restaurant.

Solid Thai food. There's nothing to complain about

I can't say anything about the food itself because... although I ordered a dish to pick up over the phone, I was told on the spot that the beef dish I wanted was no longer available. Alternatively, I chose a pork dish. After a short consultation with the chef, I was told that no dish was possible for me due to a larger group that had just ordered on site. There was no apology or anything like that. They thanked me for my understanding and that was it. Unbelievable, I've never experienced anything like this before...

Food is definitely of a higher quality standard - really tasty. If the store on WE. If it is fairly busy, the service staff will reach their limits and you have to plan for a longer waiting time (~1 hour). Ambiance is indescribable for a Southeast Asian restaurant, I've never seen it before.

Beste Thai-Küche weit und breit bei etwas skurrilem, urigem Ambiente. Hier bekommt man die weit und breit authentischsten thailändischen Gerichte. Leider ist die Küche klein, weshalb bei viel mit langen Wartezeiten zu rechnen ist.

Wow such a unique and friendly place with very very tasty food and such a good price. We really enjoyed the unique touches and we haven’t met more friendly staff. The food was made to order and they couldn’t have done more for us! A big thank you we can’t wait to come back :)

Köstliches Thai-Essen ! Besonders die Sommer-Rolle Nr 13 auf der Karte ist wohl legendär ! Probieren ! Man hört es aus der Küche, wie dort immer alles frisch zubereitet, geschnippelt und gehackt wird. Ich habe den Eindruck, daß hier an Nichts gespart wird, frische Kräuter, auch Zutaten, die man in andern Thai-Restaurants eingespart findet, die aber unverzichtbar zu einem richtigen thailändischen Essen gehören, sind drin, wie zB Thai-Auberginen und Laos-Wurzeln. Im Sommer habe ich dort auf der Außenbestuhlung einen Thai-Frauen-Stammtisch gesehen und auch sonst öfter thailändische Gäste, was mich in dem Eindruck bestätigt, daß das thailändische Essen dort sehr authentisch ist. Es ist nicht alle Tage der Woche und nur abends und bis 21 Uhr auf, es wirkt wie eine Liebhaberei des Inhabers und seiner Familie, und genau so familiär, gut und urig ist das Ganze. Das Ambiente in einem alten Fischerhäusel ist ziemlich witzig kurios, da darf man sich nicht dran stören, man kann da allerlei präparierte Fische bestaunen, und irgendwie unterstreicht das den Hobby-Charakter des Restaurants, das findet man immerhin selten, vor allem gepaart mit solch guter Thai-Küche. Schöne Lage im Mannheimer Vorland direkt am Altneckar in Ilvesheim. Dort liegt es hinter der Brücke rechts neben einem großen Kinderspielplatz. Am Neckar kann man dann noch einen Spaziergang anschließen. Weitere Vorteile, daß es nicht in der Stadt liegt, sind die reichlichen Parkplätze vor der Tür und die "Land-Preise" (ich finde deutlich günstiger als in der Stadt, gemessen an der Leistung). Ich finde die Bedienung und Atmosphäre sehr nett familiär. Service und Essen sind flott.

The summer roll number 13 is so unbelievably delicious that I keep ordering it and often take it away for myself and my wife the next day after eating in the restaurant. Addictive good! Hot tip: definitely try it!!! And the rest of the food is also the tastiest Thai cuisine I have found in Mannheim so far, and I haven't missed much because I love Thai food so much. I'm on holiday in Thailand and occasionally cook Thai food myself. Hardly anyone gets it so harmoniously delicious with herbs and fresh ingredients and so fresh as here. That's why I always like to come back. I was just in the restaurant. Super delicious. Nice, family-run, top service. This Thai is in Ilvesheim, on the "island" (Ilvesheim is completely surrounded by water and is therefore often referred to as such by the locals), across the bridge directly on the Neckar. After eating, you can go for a nice walk up on the dam to the Alt-Neckar, right in front of the restaurant. Added value, so to speak, Thai plus. Hopp's large children's playground is now also in front. Fortunately, you don't notice any unpleasant noise in the summer. In summer, there is outdoor seating. There are also parking spaces right outside the door, which I think is much better than in the city. Yes, the ambience is not your average Thai, with Buddha here and Buddha there and a bit of a fountain and a waving cat, but this Thai kitchen is housed in a fisherman's cottage and has had to make do with the existing ambience, which they probably don't want to change, it just seems strange at first, but somehow that's what makes it so original! Spotlessly clean. Top quality cuisine. Everything fresh. Fast service, the food is so fresh on the table, it's often still smoking, it's all freshly prepared. Out of curiosity, I once sneaked a peek into the kitchen, which you can do as you pass by. I actually thought that more would already be prepared, but that's not the case, everything is always freshly chopped and put together. But surprisingly, I never had to wait long, even though everything is freshly prepared. The service is familiar, the team seem like family members to me, sometimes with a bit of a halting German, but I always got everything I wanted, funny and friendly, just familiar. The portions are generous for me, I can only eat them with difficulty with the starter. Sometimes I have something packed up. I think the prices are more than reasonable to cheap, the location in the outskirts of Mannheim in Ilvesheim makes it a good choice, not far from the center of Mannheim but also far enough that the prices are not as high as in some parts of the city. By the way, I think the menu is visible in advance on the Internet. A family business, super nice, in my opinion a bit of a hobby business, who simply enjoy doing it because they enjoy the business and the guests and not just for the money, and by the way, they don't always give up. Thai home cooking at its best! A real insider tip! I really shouldn't praise it so much. But there are enough chairs. About me as a guest: This place has become one of my absolute favorite restaurants over time, I go there about once every two months, sometimes more often, especially when you can sit outside in the summer, simply because it's so delicious and I somehow miss it when I haven't been there for a while. I like to invite family and friends there because nothing can go wrong with the food, even non-Thai eaters quickly become fans of the cuisine (but be careful with the dishes marked "spicy" - they're pretty close to authentic Thai spicy, but there are also plenty of dishes marked "mild") and the prices make it easy to invite people over. By the way: this is now the number one takeaway among my friends because everyone likes the food there so much. I'd be happy to go back!

Das Restaurant hat eine kleine Küche, was die da aber heraus Zaubern ist super. Alles frisch und lecker. Es kann durch die kleine Küche Mal länger dauern, aber wenn es gut schmeckt ist das Warten absolut ok.

Authentic Thai cuisine! We always enjoy coming back. Don't let the ambience of the fisherman's home put you off. Even in Thailand, the restaurants that don't pay attention to appearances are often the best. Since the boss cooks alone, it can take a while if there is a lot going on. But that's also because she makes everything fresh. Excellent! Only vegetarians should be aware that for Thais, oyster sauce is vegetarian. If you don't want that, you should say when ordering that you should please cook it with mushroom sauce. Strangely enough, it becomes milder and milder. If you want it to be spicy, then say so. Then it always works!

Wir waren bisher 2x da. Der beste Thailänder in Mannheim und Umgebung ! Er befindet sich im "Fischerhäusl" in Ilvesheim, die Dekoration ist entsprechend. Aber die Küche !!! Bestens ! Als häufiger Asienreisender glaube ich die Qualität beurteilen zu können. Besser geht es unserer Meinung nach nicht !

Soßen schmackhaft. Reis dazu wird als Kinderportion serviert. Für ca 15€ pro Teller bei dem Gaststätten Look sollte man nicht am Reis sparen. Eine extra Mini Portion gabs für 2€ gerade drauf. In meinem Gemüse gab es weiche und knackige Karotten was für mich ein Zeichen von frisch gemischt mit altem ist. Könnte mich auch irren. Wer draußen sitzt soll viel Geduld mitbringen. Man fühlt sich hier verlassen. Thailändischen service kenne ich ganz anders. Fazit: muss man nicht gesehen haben.

Die Speisen werden ganz frisch zubereitet und freundlich serviert. Es ist eben ein Gemütliches Vereins Lokal. Aber das Essen ist echt lecker.
