Very nice decor and inviting to go in. The service was excellent and helpful in picking out complementary dishes. Lady was lovely and sweet. Food was amazing and spiced well.

Quick service and authentic food We love it here

The worst duck I've ever eaten. First it's not crispy, then it comes out dry and fried again.

We were guests before the pandemic and also during it. The prices were cheaper then, of course. It's almost too expensive for me now. The manager is usually not in a good mood. The waiters and waitresses are hit and miss. They range from friendly to irritated. Some authentic Thai dishes are missing from the menu. I find €19.50 for a vegetarian dish with rice very excessive. I come less often.

Never again...not recommended. We had duck today...the meat was completely dry. When asked about it, the only comment was, "It can happen that the meat isn't that good." Sure, but then they shouldn't sell it. We immediately sent it back to the kitchen. We still had to pay the full price. It's a bit pathetic, in my opinion.

I think I can say it's the best Thai in Mainz, although last time they didn't treat us as well as other times... the food is great and normally everything is great... I give them 5 stars for the good quality/price and for the decoration

I give the food full marks. One of the best Thai restaurants I've ever been to. The servers are friendly and the ambiance is traditional Thai. I'd gladly go back.

I rarely write reviews, but this time it was just enough! First of all: We've been here many times over the past 11 years. But every time we visited, it was always the same: 1. Unfriendly Service No matter the time – the waiters and the man at the bar were extremely rude every time. You walk in, aren't greeted or noticed, and have to actively approach the waiters (even if the place is almost empty). Then you're waved off and told to just sit down anywhere. If you ask for a high chair, they just point at it without saying a word – you have to get it yourself. Then it's the usual routine: order, eat, pay, leave. But no one asks if you enjoyed your meal or if everything was okay. A "Thank you" or "Goodbye"? None. 2. Ordering by Phone If you take orders by phone, you should at least have a reasonable command of German. Instead, you'll get rude if you ask to speak to someone else. For example, I once ordered a "spicy" curry – it was so extremely spicy that it was inedible, and I normally eat very spicy food. What was the intention behind this? Was it a way to get back at me because I couldn't communicate directly with the man on the phone, and the meal had already been paid for anyway? We've always tolerated all of this because the food is usually good. That's why we've always given the restaurant a chance. But today came the worst. 3. The last visit – with a toddler We were there with our young daughter. We were told to choose a table. Our daughter (2 years old at the time) walked to the back, sat on the small "bridge" and watched everything in peace. The waitress suggested a table for four with a "reserved" sign. But since it was too far away from our daughter, we asked if we could sit in the back. Her answer: "Yes, choose a table." So we assumed it didn't matter whether there was a reserved sign on the table or not. So we sat at a table for six, right next to our daughter. The bartender then yelled at us, asking why we were sitting there—there were only three of us. That was the end of it for me. You can explain something like that normally without getting loud in front of all the guests. But instead of relenting, he got even louder and remained uncooperative, even though we pointed out that yelling wasn't necessary. We did get louder, too, but we had already decided to leave. By the way, the table for six consisted of only three tables placed together. Why didn't they find a solution, like putting other tables together so we could sit near our daughter? After all, there were plenty of free seats. It's not always easy to go out to eat with a toddler—they don't sit still for long, they run around, or sometimes get loud. It's all the more wonderful when they find something to keep them occupied and calm. That's more pleasant for all guests. But respect, politeness, and customer service are unfortunately completely foreign concepts here. By the way: I'm Thai myself – and I think that if you live and work in Germany, you should at least have a basic grasp of the German language.

Great place! The staff was very welcoming and kind. The menu has plenty of options, service was quick, and the food was delicious. Just a heads-up on the spiciness🥵we ordered mild, and even our friend who loves spicy food found it spicy! Overall, we loved the place, especially the charming décor.

It was terrible. We ate there today and simply asked the waitress (a rather heavyset woman) to leave the appetizer plate. She yelled at us and made a fuss, saying in a disrespectful manner that she wasn't responsible for our order. Even afterward, no one from the staff apologized. We just wanted to leave the restaurant as quickly as possible. We will also report this incident to the Trade Inspectorate.

We were here as a group on March 5, 2024, and had an unbelievable experience. The food was okay, but I've never experienced such unfriendly service in my life. I'm seriously shocked by the lack of professionalism. All of our reviews have been deleted. I used to love eating here and had never experienced this before. We came as a small group for a birthday dinner. We had a reservation. We arrived about two minutes late – due to the parking problem. As a result, one of the waiters (possibly also the owner) verbally abused us. We weren't assigned the table we had requested by phone. We should have left at this point, but we were all hungry and didn't want to let the mood be spoiled. The man kept coming to our table to reprimand us. We were reprimanded several times for no apparent reason and threatened with expulsion. The candles were taken from our table because we were supposedly too immature with them and acting like children, even though they had only been moved to the side to save space. As we quietly (!) sang Happy Birthday, he came back, interrupted us, and glared at us angrily. We all just tried to finish as quickly as possible. The atmosphere was very tense, and everyone felt uncomfortable. When we wanted to pay, we weren't asked how we were going to pay or how we were going to split it. A bill was rudely handed to everyone. Basically, we were all treated so unkindly that I thought it must have been a joke. Unkind from the start, the food was presented carelessly, and the service was terrible. Towards the end, a young lady apologized for her colleague, saying, "This happens often, I'm sorry," and looked at the floor in shame.

This restaurant is not recommended and should be avoided. Today, the waitress shouted at us in an extremely disrespectful manner because we had another request. No one on the team intervened. On the contrary, the staff accused us of having asked a different waitress. That was the last time we went there.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is reasonably priced and the service is very prompt. For four people, it costs about €60...

The restaurant is authentically decorated and looks truly beautiful. The service was friendly, and the food was served warm and appealingly. Unfortunately, I apparently didn't tolerate the food very well and subsequently experienced stomach upset and diarrhea. Of course, it's possible I was just having a bad day. Overall, though, I have to take that into account in my review.

We were eating too much, and maybe we were just unlucky – the duck was frozen. The coconut vegetable soup was tasty, but it gave all three of us diarrhea. For a total of 110 euros, it was very disappointing.

After explicit promises that food would be ready for pickup in 25 minutes, it took over 40 minutes.

I've eaten here several times, whether as a couple or in a larger group. The food was, as always, beautifully presented and very tasty. The restaurant has a nice theme, fitting the Thai cuisine. The staff is mostly friendly, but sometimes (especially on busy days) a bit grumpy. Despite all that, I can highly recommend eating there.

The food was not impressive at all... firstly, everything was very sour. Secondly, the vegetable content was very poor - mostly onions..., the duck was dry. Conclusion: we will not go there again and will not recommend it to friends. The price is high, but only for the ambience

I was interested in Thai food and had studied the menu on the door. I went into the restaurant and was surprised that at 6 p.m. on a weekend, there were practically no guests sitting there. I asked if the brighter tables by the window – and otherwise, it was quite dim in the rest of the restaurant (mind you, you can't eat outside, which is unusual for Mainz) – were reserved, and she said, "No, nothing is reserved here." I was nevertheless handed a menu after I said, "I already know what I want." I was then informed that only the lunch menu was posted on the door and that the evening dishes would cost almost €20. Mind you, no soup, no set menu, just the dish. I then decided to forego eating at the restaurant because there are definitely better options in Mainz, in the truest sense of the word – those are prices like you'd normally find at a Thai restaurant in a prime location in Wiesbaden... I can't say anything about the quality of the food, but I'd rather keep looking in Mainz...

Very good Thai cuisine. I really enjoyed everything. The cocktail was good too, but I've had better. The food, however, was truly delicious. Definitely recommended. I'll be back.

Had a verry tasty chicken thay soup

Good food. I had a coconut chicken soup, Pad Thai, and an ice tea without milk - everything was actually too sweet.

Das Restaurant ist ein solides thailändisches Restaurant, das beispielsweise einige thailändische Gerichte sehr authentisch anbietet. Wir essen hier regelmäßig auch zu Mittag, insgesamt kann man hier gut essen. Teilweise sind die Gerichte jedoch ziemlich teuer. Mit Fleisch, Scampi und Tofu ist das Restaurant sehr sparsam. Bei einem Gericht für knapp 20 € sollte man meinen, dass da etwas mehr Fleisch drin ist. Tatsächlich waren es jedoch nur zwei Stücke.

Unfortunately we were disappointed with our visit. The draft beer was not carbonated, the service was not friendly and the food was more reminiscent of an Asian snack bar. We came across this restaurant because of its good reviews. In retrospect we were annoyed because we didn't understand where the good reviews came from. Unfortunately we won't be coming back.

I was recommended to go there but I tell you never again! The waitress was listless while working, very unfriendly, then she brought the wrong food. My husband wanted crispy turkey and she brought normal fried turkey... the price was way too expensive. In terms of taste it was a complete disaster, crispy duck was so dry that I choked completely, the noodles tasted burnt and the Cola zero definitely didn't taste like Cola zero...then the waitresses watch you eat the whole time and talk about you. If I could give zero stars I would! We were there once and never again, that was a lesson for us. I'm curious whether our review will be deleted.

Es ist schon ein paar Jahre her, dass wir hier mal zum Essen waren und wir waren sehr enttäuscht - die teilweise schlechten Bewertungen entsprachen unserem eigenen Erlebnis. Jetz waren wir aber auf Einladung (insgesamt 7 Personen) mal wieder dort gewesen und waren total positiv überrascht. Ein fast bis auf den letzten Platz besuchtes Lokal, eine sehr freundliche Begrüßung, aufmerksamer und netter Service; wirklich sehr gutes (Geschmack, Frische, Qualität und Menge super) Essen und Getränke, trug alles zu einem gelungenen Abend bei. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Die sanitären Anlagen könnten eine Auffrischung/Erweiterung bzw. mehr Aufmerksamkeit gebrauchen.

We used to come here often, but the new gentleman who took over the restaurant is impossible. He shouted at other guests throughout the restaurant, even though they were really polite. Afterwards he tried to protest at our table that these guests were impossible. Eating out is no fun. Don't come back.

If I could give zero stars I would. My husband, our daughter and I were in this restaurant today and were actually looking forward to a nice family meal. Instead we were greeted by the rudest and most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. The food was mediocre - but that wasn't even the main problem. After we finished eating, we took a water bottle out of our bag to take a drink - and suddenly everything went wrong. A staff member immediately came to us and started reprimanding us! One would think we had committed a great crime. It was incredibly embarrassing and completely inappropriate. A simple reminder of their "rules" would have been enough, but the staff treated us like we were trying to do anything illegal. We are paying guests who just wanted to enjoy a nice family meal without being shamed for drinking a sip of water. We were honestly shocked by this unfriendly and disrespectful treatment. We definitely won't be back and can't recommend this place to anyone. Anyone who values ​​customer service and basic respect should avoid this place.

I'm Thai. Food is authentic and staffs are friendly. Seasoning is really good, meat was a bit tough, rice not fragrant but ok. Drinks not so great (homemade ice tea) tasted weird and way too sweet. 5 star regardless because taste from the seasoning was on spot! Ordered: papaya salad, papaya salad, glass noodle salad, glass noodle salad, laab chicken, basil pork, stir-fried pork with basil, phad Thai.

We came across this Thai by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty. The duck was crispy and the sauce was finally spicy as promised. We will be happy to come back.

We were looking forward to trying new dishes. They largely met our expectations. But with a classic like Phad Thai, the noodles were unfortunately overcooked, already mushy, and almost tasteless. Due to the extremely mixed mix of acidity and sweetness of the freshly made drinks, ordering an extra bottle of water was inevitable. What can I say, for me it is the last Thai restaurant still in existence. I really hope to go back next time and experience it differently.

Very friendly service, family atmosphere. I love all of the dishes and haven't tried them all, even though I've been a guest here for decades. My wife really loves the Thai iced lemon tea, I couldn't decide which is the tastiest. The decor is rustic Thai. There are tables for all group sizes but also for couples or individuals. There are also low tables with seat cushions. The restaurant is grouped around a kitchen and a bar. You can enjoy cocktails at the bar if you just want to hang out instead of eating out. But when I'm here I always want to eat 😀👍😎

Service and ambience are excellent. My colleagues also found their food very tasty. But I definitely can't recommend the egg noodles (which I was the only one to have). They tasted way too salty and the egg in the noodles tasted slightly stale.

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. The staff was extremely unfriendly, especially towards our children. There was neither a smile nor a friendly tone - there can be no question of child-friendliness here. We were also shocked that there were no special dishes for children on the menu. A visit to a restaurant should be a nice experience for the whole family - that was definitely not the case here.

Unfortunately, our visit today to a restaurant that we used to frequent and enjoy was a big disappointment. We went there with friends, but the experience was far from satisfactory. We have visited this restaurant many times in the past. It wasn't star-rated cuisine, but the price-performance ratio was right. The Pad Thai in particular for €9 was always a safe choice. However, since there has been a new owner, the quality of the food has noticeably deteriorated while the prices have risen significantly. The Pad Thai now costs a whopping €23, and the portion was by no means commensurate with the price. Another negative point was the handling of my bike. Since I didn't have a lock with me and know how quickly bicycles are stolen in downtown Mainz, I wanted to leave it near the restaurant. However, the owner showed no understanding and insisted that I park my bike across the street. I found this very unfriendly and inflexible. All in all, our visit today was very disappointing. The quality of the food has deteriorated, the prices have become outrageously high and the service also left a lot to be desired. We probably won't be back any time soon.

I really like Thai food but the food here is terrible. The tofu may have gone bad and I had a stomach ache all night. I ate padthai, it was very salty and had a lot of sauce. The food is nothing special and the price is too expensive. The worst Thai restaurant I have ever experienced.

I was there yesterday after a business event. Old Swede 22.50 for a normal fried rice with chicken and a non-alcoholic wheat. I'm already somewhat used to the prices, but this amazed me again. Quite steep when you consider that the portion size and taste were just okay since you could look for the chicken in it.

Super nice staff. The food tasted really good and you didn't have to wait long for the food. Very large portions and the reservation worked perfectly. We even got free iced tea at the end :)

I disagree with some of the reviews. The food is very good, and the portions are still the same as before (I started going here a year ago). However, I agree that the prices have skyrocketed. What was once 11 euros might be 17 euros now. Come on, that’s ridiculous!

Unfortunately, ThaiCountry has deteriorated a lot……..starts with the service/friendliness of the waitresses and continues seamlessly with the food! Apparently the price screw is now being turned upside down, which wouldn't be so bad if the portion sizes were appropriate! But more expensive and smaller portions are not possible in the long run. Quality also declines, carelessly done. Special requests are not taken into account at all! It's a shame, it was one of the better Thai restaurants... but imo there's a lot left to be desired! Let’s hope that through constructive criticism things will change for the better………

I found the food very good. My partner thought it was just good. The service is nice and friendly, but for us it took a long time until someone dared to come out of hiding so we could pay. The ambience fits the concept.
