If I could give zero stars I would. My husband, our daughter and I were in this restaurant today and were actually looking forward to a nice family meal. Instead we were greeted by the rudest and most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. The food was mediocre - but that wasn't even the main problem. After we finished eating, we took a water bottle out of our bag to take a drink - and suddenly everything went wrong. A staff member immediately came to us and started reprimanding us! One would think we had committed a great crime. It was incredibly embarrassing and completely inappropriate. A simple reminder of their "rules" would have been enough, but the staff treated us like we were trying to do anything illegal. We are paying guests who just wanted to enjoy a nice family meal without being shamed for drinking a sip of water. We were honestly shocked by this unfriendly and disrespectful treatment. We definitely won't be back and can't recommend this place to anyone. Anyone who values ​​customer service and basic respect should avoid this place.

We come here regularly to eat, very tasty, top service, special requests are always taken into account without any problems. Can only be recommended!

I'm Thai. Food is authentic and staffs are friendly. Seasoning is really good, meat was a bit tough, rice not fragrant but ok. Drinks not so great (homemade ice tea) tasted weird and way too sweet. 5 star regardless because taste from the seasoning was on spot! Ordered: papaya salad, papaya salad, glass noodle salad, glass noodle salad, laab chicken, basil pork, stir-fried pork with basil, phad Thai.

We came across this Thai by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty. The duck was crispy and the sauce was finally spicy as promised. We will be happy to come back.

We were looking forward to trying new dishes. They largely met our expectations. But with a classic like Phad Thai, the noodles were unfortunately overcooked, already mushy, and almost tasteless. Due to the extremely mixed mix of acidity and sweetness of the freshly made drinks, ordering an extra bottle of water was inevitable. What can I say, for me it is the last Thai restaurant still in existence. I really hope to go back next time and experience it differently.

Very friendly service, family atmosphere. I love all of the dishes and haven't tried them all, even though I've been a guest here for decades. My wife really loves the Thai iced lemon tea, I couldn't decide which is the tastiest. The decor is rustic Thai. There are tables for all group sizes but also for couples or individuals. There are also low tables with seat cushions. The restaurant is grouped around a kitchen and a bar. You can enjoy cocktails at the bar if you just want to hang out instead of eating out. But when I'm here I always want to eat 😀👍😎

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. The staff was extremely unfriendly, especially towards our children. There was neither a smile nor a friendly tone - there can be no question of child-friendliness here. We were also shocked that there were no special dishes for children on the menu. It seemed like there was no understanding or empathy for the needs of families with children. A visit to a restaurant should be a nice experience for the whole family - that was definitely not the case here.

Service and ambience are excellent. My colleagues also found their food very tasty. But I definitely can't recommend the egg noodles (which I was the only one to have). They tasted way too salty and the egg in the noodles tasted slightly stale.

It's not like it used to be, it doesn't taste like it used to and the prices have really risen, everything is overpriced and they don't offer children's menus. The staff are unfriendly

Unfortunately, our visit today to a restaurant that we used to frequent and enjoy was a big disappointment. We went there with friends, but the experience was far from satisfactory. We have visited this restaurant many times in the past. It wasn't star-rated cuisine, but the price-performance ratio was right. The Pad Thai in particular for €9 was always a safe choice. However, since there has been a new owner, the quality of the food has noticeably deteriorated while the prices have risen significantly. The Pad Thai now costs a whopping €23, and the portion was by no means commensurate with the price. Another negative point was the handling of my bike. Since I didn't have a lock with me and know how quickly bicycles are stolen in downtown Mainz, I wanted to leave it near the restaurant. However, the owner showed no understanding and insisted that I park my bike across the street. I found this very unfriendly and inflexible. All in all, our visit today was very disappointing. The quality of the food has deteriorated, the prices have become outrageously high and the service also left a lot to be desired. We probably won't be back any time soon.

Unfortunately, I am very disappointed with my last visit to Thai Country in Mainz. This restaurant used to be one of my favorite addresses, but now a lot has changed for the worse. The prices have risen extremely and are no longer in proportion to the quality offered. What's particularly annoying is that the prices on the menu outside don't match those in the restaurant. This is very misleading and disappointing. Unfortunately I can no longer recommend Thai Country.

I really like Thai food but the food here is terrible. The tofu may have gone bad and I had a stomach ache all night. I ate padthai, it was very salty and had a lot of sauce. The food is nothing special and the price is too expensive. The worst Thai restaurant I have ever experienced.

I can say that it is the worst food I have ever eaten in my life. Never, never go. My girlfriend wanted a menu with fish. I also wanted a menu with meat. There was neither fish nor meat in them. The taste of the food was also disgusting. It was a waste of our money.

I was there yesterday after a business event. Old Swede 22.50 for a normal fried rice with chicken and a non-alcoholic wheat. I'm already somewhat used to the prices, but this amazed me again. Quite steep when you consider that the portion size and taste were just okay since you could look for the chicken in it.

Super nice staff. The food tasted really good and you didn't have to wait long for the food. Very large portions and the reservation worked perfectly. We even got free iced tea at the end :)

I disagree with some of the reviews. The food is very good, and the portions are still the same as before (I started going here a year ago). However, I agree that the prices have skyrocketed. What was once 11 euros might be 17 euros now. Come on, that’s ridiculous!

Unfortunately, ThaiCountry has deteriorated a lot……..starts with the service/friendliness of the waitresses and continues seamlessly with the food! Apparently the price screw is now being turned upside down, which wouldn't be so bad if the portion sizes were appropriate! But more expensive and smaller portions are not possible in the long run. Quality also declines, carelessly done. Special requests are not taken into account at all! It's a shame, it was one of the better Thai restaurants... but imo there's a lot left to be desired! Let’s hope that through constructive criticism things will change for the better………

I found the food very good. My partner thought it was just good. The service is nice and friendly, but for us it took a long time until someone dared to come out of hiding so we could pay. The ambience fits the concept.

A price increase of 80% is not justified and I find it outrageous. I have higher costs, but not to that extent and I don't get 80 percent more salary either. It's a shame, but I don't want to pay for this anymore and eat at home. Nevertheless, I would like to thank you very much for these years. ... it was always nice

A very friendly owner who, despite a lot of work, finds time for a very nice conversation! On our SECOND visit, my friend moved her chair towards me so we could have a relaxed chat. Almost immediately the owner snapped at her: "No, that's not possible! It's not allowed there. It's not possible because of security!" When she had pushed her chair back, he started again and explained that the waitresses had no room to serve the guests. It was around 5 p.m. and the place was far from full. And the passage was completely sufficient. Apparently the owner was already annoyed about something, because he left the restaurant afterwards. It's impossible behavior to complain like that in front of everyone! The food is really delicious, but behavior like that is not acceptable!

We ate Pad Thai and duck with sweet and sour sauce. The food was way too sweet. After we complained about it, the same thing happened again. It should be less sweet now, but it was still the same. Just with more salt and acid. We were very dissatisfied. The service wasn't exactly friendly either

I've never had such a bad restaurant experience... We were constantly being bullied. When we wanted to file a complaint we were simply told that we weren't forced to eat there. But this was already when we got our food! Long story short. In total we were hit on stupidly 4 times. I had to light my own candle, distribute dishes, cutlery and drinks and didn't even get my rice to eat... We also had to wait 40 minutes for the food and it was definitely not worth the money. All I got from this restaurant is a horror story and a stomach ache. You can't force me to go there again. I can treat myself like shit, but I have enough self-respect that I won't subject myself to an experience like that again. Hopefully this helps someone else not make the same mistake I did.

Wir waren schon öfters als Familie hier essen, sind aber total unzufrieden mit unserem Letzten Besuch. Das Restaurant setzt eindeutig auf Quantität statt Qualität. Die Mittags-Menüs locken mit Dumping-Preisen, doch das Essen enttäuscht auf ganzer Linie. Fragwürdige Herkunft des Fleisches und unhygienische Toiletten sind nur die Spitze des Eisbergs. Das völlig überforderte Personal wird vom Besitzer, möglicherweise einem Chinesen (neuer Besitzer), brutal unter Druck gesetzt und sogar angeschrien. Wer auf minderwertiges Essen in einem halbwegs ansprechenden Ambiente steht, ist hier richtig. Alle anderen sollten besser woanders hingehen. Hier gehen wir definitiv nicht mehr essen !!

Mit Dumping-Preisen werden Mittags-Menüs angeboten, man kann sich fragen, woher das Fleisch kommt. Das Essen wird innerhalb von fünf Minuten gebracht. Unangenehm fällt teils der gehetzte Inhaber auf, der sein bemühtes aber überfordertes Personal anschreit. Das war nicht immer so, vor einiger Zeit war dies noch ein gemütlicher Thai in der Mainzer Innenstadt. Die Einrichtung ist schön, deswegen zwei Sterne. Aber es herrscht dort einfach keine schöne Atmosphäre mehr. Wie immer ist dies eine subjektive Einschätzung. Wer beim Essen sparen möchte, ist wegen unschlagbar billigem Essen vielleicht hier richtig. Es ist eben das Motto Masse statt Klasse.

Worst Thai I've ever had. The noodles just tasted like fat. A few broccoli and carrots, as well as bamboo shoots. Then completely dried out chicken. It's a shame about the ingredients used, as plain pasta from the fair tastes better. Never again!

Disgusting! I made a reservation very clearly over the phone for 5 people and got turned away at the door by two people with extremely bad attitudes. I will never return there, and I will discourage anyone else from doing so as well. Really disgusting attitude after stuffing up with your reservations!

The opening times are not observed. I was there 2 hours before closing time and was told in an unfriendly manner that we would be closing soon and they immediately turned around. This is not the first time that a customer has been treated unfriendly and dismissive. To be honest, it's never happened to me in any other restaurant.

There is a lot of rice and relatively little chicken or shrimp in our case. The starters are also not very original. The taste is just okay but really nothing special. Before Corona it was much better. Sorry, but I can cook rice myself and eat more Togo from the Thai kiosk.

Seit Jahren schon nicht mehr so gut asiatisch gegessen! Das Essen wurde schön angerichtet und in einer ausreichenden Menge. Es war sehr frisch dazu kein übersalzener Glutamat Geschmack. Hähnchen saftig kross frittiert. Das Gemüse perfekt gegart. Dazu freundlicher und geduldiger Service. Würde gerne mehr Sterne geben.. Ein sehr kritischer Restaurant-Besucher! :)

The one of the best authentic thailand food restaurant in germany. I found this resto from google when i was in mainz. The place so cozy full with bamboo interior, the wall, the decorations as well. The food price so good no expensive but the taste is rich. I order pad thai, Somtam, tomyam goong, gaeng phed goong, panang tofu popia phak and the dessert gluay thord ( fried banana) all of them so delicious. The homemade ice tee milch and lemon so fresh. Recommended to back again when go to mainz next time.

Das Lokal wirkt etwas unsauber. Die Zusammenstellung der Speisen ist Geschmackssache.

Ich gehe seit Jahren mindestens einmal pro Woche in dieses Restaurant. Essen und Service sind großartig. Fünf Sternen. Btw. Montag ist Ruhetag.

Personal völlig überfordert, pampig und unfreundlich. Wir fragten nach einem Tisch für drei. Antwort: "Einfach geradeaus". Soweit so gut. Als wir an einen Tisch platz nehmen wollten, an dem kein "Reserviert"-Schild stand wurden wir von einem anderen Mitarbeiter in einem unglaublichen Ton angefahren, warum wir uns dort hinsetzen würden und man könne jawohl mal fragen. Woraufhin wir fast wieder gegangen wären. Karten wurden einfach auf den Tisch geschmissen. Essen war okay, aber nicht besonders. Die Masche des Kellners: Vor jeden Zahlvorgang noch schnell ein Smalltalk um doch noch Trinkgeld zu kassieren. Wir beobachteten dies bei mindestens 3 weiteren Tischen, an denen Gäste saßen, die zuvor vom Verhalten des Kellners sehr irritiert waren. Wir kommen hier nicht noch einmal hin.

Sehr gute Küche....Personal....Ambiente.

Schlechtes Preis/Leistungsverhältnis, da das Essen echt nur mittelmäßig war. Die Bedienung könnte ebenfalls freundlicher sein, doch die Deko an sich ist sehr gut.

Eins muss man sagen: Schon zu Beginn versetzt einen das Ambiente direkt in einen thailändischen Flair! Der Service ist höflich, zuvorkommend und arbeitet schnell. Ich habe ein Curry mit Garnelen bestellt. Die Garnelen waren perfekt gegart, sodass sie schön weich waren. Die Sauce ist perfekt abgeschmeckt und enthält wie erwartet die unterschiedlichsten Gewürze, die man von einem richtigen Thai-Restaurant erwartet. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und komme immer wieder gerne!!

Preis/Leistung ist wirklich optimal. Das Essen absolut super. Man muss allerdings Schärfegrade beachten: Sie gehen von 1 bis 3. Schärfegrad 3 brennt den Mund weg! Also Vorsicht!

Die Speisekarte ist sehr umfangreich. Es gibt viele Variationen. Das Essen schmeckte sehr gut. Die Preise sind leider etwas zu hoch!

Ich war mit meiner Frau zum Abendessen und ich habe mir nur Vorspeisen bestellt und sie Ente ! nach noch nicht mal nach 10 min. war das Essen auf dem Tisch ? meine Vorspeisen waren nur durch die Friteuse gezogen und ohne Geschmack ! habe es bemängelt ohne Rektion na ja. auch das ganze Geschäft gehört mal renoviert ( Toiletten sin ein Graus)
