Excellent food! I had Ped Pha Loh and the duck was amazing.

I was interested in Thai food and had studied the menu on the door. I went into the restaurant and was surprised that at 6 p.m. on a weekend, there were practically no guests sitting there. I asked if the brighter tables by the window – and otherwise, it was quite dim in the rest of the restaurant (mind you, you can't eat outside, which is unusual for Mainz) – were reserved, and she said, "No, nothing is reserved here." I was nevertheless handed a menu after I said, "I already know what I want." I was then informed that only the lunch menu was posted on the door and that the evening dishes would cost almost €20. Mind you, no soup, no set menu, just the dish. I then decided to forego eating at the restaurant because there are definitely better options in Mainz, in the truest sense of the word – those are prices like you'd normally find at a Thai restaurant in a prime location in Wiesbaden... I can't say anything about the quality of the food, but I'd rather keep looking in Mainz...

Very good Thai cuisine. I really enjoyed everything. The cocktail was good too, but I've had better. The food, however, was truly delicious. Definitely recommended. I'll be back.

I was recommended to go there but I tell you never again! The waitress was listless while working, very unfriendly, then she brought the wrong food. My husband wanted crispy turkey and she brought normal fried turkey... the price was way too expensive. In terms of taste it was a complete disaster, crispy duck was so dry that I choked completely, the noodles tasted burnt and the Cola zero definitely didn't taste like Cola zero...then the waitresses watch you eat the whole time and talk about you. If I could give zero stars I would! We were there once and never again, that was a lesson for us. I'm curious whether our review will be deleted.

Es ist schon ein paar Jahre her, dass wir hier mal zum Essen waren und wir waren sehr enttäuscht - die teilweise schlechten Bewertungen entsprachen unserem eigenen Erlebnis. Jetz waren wir aber auf Einladung (insgesamt 7 Personen) mal wieder dort gewesen und waren total positiv überrascht. Ein fast bis auf den letzten Platz besuchtes Lokal, eine sehr freundliche Begrüßung, aufmerksamer und netter Service; wirklich sehr gutes (Geschmack, Frische, Qualität und Menge super) Essen und Getränke, trug alles zu einem gelungenen Abend bei. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Die sanitären Anlagen könnten eine Auffrischung/Erweiterung bzw. mehr Aufmerksamkeit gebrauchen.

We were here as a group on March 5, 2024, and had an unbelievable experience. The food was okay, but I've never experienced such unfriendly service in my life. I'm seriously shocked by the lack of professionalism. All of our reviews have been deleted. I used to love eating here and had never experienced this before. We came as a small group for a birthday dinner with a reservation. We were about two minutes late due to a parking search. However, one of the waiters (possibly also the owner) verbally abused us in an annoyed manner. We weren't assigned the table we'd requested. We should have left at this point, but we were all hungry and didn't want to let the mood be spoiled. The man kept coming to our table to reprimand us. We were reprimanded several times for no apparent reason and threatened with expulsion. Our candles were taken from our table because we were supposedly too immature with them and acting like children, even though they had only been moved to the side to save space. As we quietly (!) sang Happy Birthday, he came back, interrupted us, and glared at us angrily. We all just tried to finish as quickly as possible in silence. The atmosphere was very tense, and everyone felt uncomfortable. When we wanted to pay, we weren't asked how we wanted to pay or how we were splitting it. A bill was rudely handed to everyone. Basically, we were all treated so unfriendly that I thought it must have been a joke. Unfriendly from the start, the food was uncaring, and the service was terrible. Towards the end, another young lady apologized for her colleague, saying, "This happens often, I'm sorry."

We used to come here often, but the new gentleman who took over the restaurant is impossible. He shouted at other guests throughout the restaurant, even though they were really polite. If I could give zero stars I would. My husband, our daughter and I were in this restaurant today and were actually looking forward to a nice family meal. Instead we were greeted by the rudest and most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. The food was mediocre - but that wasn't even the main problem. After we finished eating, we took a water bottle out of our bag to take a drink - and suddenly everything went wrong. A staff member immediately came to us and started reprimanding us! One would think we had committed a great crime. It was incredibly embarrassing and completely inappropriate. A simple reminder of their "rules" would have been enough, but the staff treated us like we were trying to do anything illegal. We are paying guests who just wanted to enjoy a nice family meal without being shamed for drinking a sip of water. We were honestly shocked by this unfriendly and disrespectful treatment. We definitely won't be back and can't recommend this place to anyone. Anyone who values ​​customer service and basic respect should avoid this place.

I'm Thai. Food is authentic and staffs are friendly. Seasoning is really good, meat was a bit tough, rice not fragrant but ok. Drinks not so great (homemade ice tea) tasted weird and way too sweet. 5 star regardless because taste from the seasoning was on spot! Ordered: papaya salad, papaya salad, glass noodle salad, glass noodle salad, laab chicken, basil pork, stir-fried pork with basil, phad Thai.

We came across this Thai by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was very tasty. The duck was crispy and the sauce was finally spicy as promised. We will be happy to come back.

We were looking forward to trying new dishes. They largely met our expectations. But with a classic like Phad Thai, the noodles were unfortunately overcooked, already mushy, and almost tasteless. Due to the extremely mixed mix of acidity and sweetness of the freshly made drinks, ordering an extra bottle of water was inevitable. What can I say, for me it is the last Thai restaurant still in existence. I really hope to go back next time and experience it differently.

Very friendly service, family atmosphere. I love all of the dishes and haven't tried them all, even though I've been a guest here for decades. My wife really loves the Thai iced lemon tea, I couldn't decide which is the tastiest. The decor is rustic Thai. There are tables for all group sizes but also for couples or individuals. There are also low tables with seat cushions. The restaurant is grouped around a kitchen and a bar. You can enjoy cocktails at the bar if you just want to hang out instead of eating out. But when I'm here I always want to eat 😀👍😎

Unfortunately our visit to this restaurant was a huge disappointment. The staff was extremely unfriendly, especially towards our children. There was neither a smile nor a friendly tone - there can be no question of child-friendliness here. We were also shocked that there were no special dishes for children on the menu. It seemed like there was no understanding or empathy for the needs of families with children. A visit to a restaurant should be a nice experience for the whole family - that was definitely not the case here.

Service and ambience are excellent. My colleagues also found their food very tasty. But I definitely can't recommend the egg noodles (which I was the only one to have). They tasted way too salty and the egg in the noodles tasted slightly stale.

However, since there has been a new owner, the quality of the food has noticeably deteriorated while the prices have risen significantly. The Pad Thai now costs a whopping €23, and the portion was by no means commensurate with the price. Another negative point was the handling of my bike. Since I didn't have a lock with me and know how quickly bicycles are stolen in downtown Mainz, I wanted to leave it near the restaurant. However, the owner showed no understanding and insisted that I park my bike across the street. I found this very unfriendly and inflexible. All in all, our visit today was very disappointing. The quality of the food has deteriorated, the prices have become outrageously high and the service also left a lot to be desired. We probably won't be back any time soon.

I really like Thai food but the food here is terrible. The tofu may have gone bad and I had a stomach ache all night. I ate padthai, it was very salty and had a lot of sauce. The food is nothing special and the price is too expensive. The worst Thai restaurant I have ever experienced.

I was there yesterday after a business event. Old Swede 22.50 for a normal fried rice with chicken and a non-alcoholic wheat. I'm already somewhat used to the prices, but this amazed me again. Quite steep when you consider that the portion size and taste were just okay since you could look for the chicken in it.

Unfortunately, ThaiCountry has deteriorated a lot……..starts with the service/friendliness of the waitresses and continues seamlessly with the food! Apparently the price screw is now being turned upside down, which wouldn't be so bad if the portion sizes were appropriate! But more expensive and smaller portions are not possible in the long run. Quality also declines, carelessly done. Special requests are not taken into account at all! It's a shame, it was one of the better Thai restaurants... but imo there's a lot left to be desired! A very friendly owner who, despite a lot of work, finds time for a very nice conversation! On our SECOND visit, my friend moved her chair towards me so we could have a relaxed chat. Almost immediately the owner snapped at her: "No, that's not possible! It's not allowed there. It's not possible because of security!" When she had pushed her chair back, he started again and explained that the waitresses had no room to serve the guests. It was around 5 p.m. and the place was far from full. And the passage was completely sufficient. Apparently the owner was already annoyed about something, because he left the restaurant afterwards. It's impossible behavior to complain like that in front of everyone! The food is really delicious, but behavior like that is not acceptable!

Die Mittags-Menüs locken mit Dumping-Preisen, doch das Essen enttäuscht auf ganzer Linie. Fragwürdige Herkunft des Fleisches und unhygienische Toiletten sind nur die Spitze des Eisbergs. Das völlig überforderte Personal wird vom Besitzer, möglicherweise einem Chinesen (neuer Besitzer), brutal unter Druck gesetzt und sogar angeschrien. Wer auf minderwertiges Essen in einem halbwegs ansprechenden Ambiente steht, ist hier richtig. Alle anderen sollten besser woanders hingehen. Hier gehen wir definitiv nicht mehr essen !!

I've never had such a bad restaurant experience... We were constantly being bullied. When we wanted to file a complaint we were simply told that we weren't forced to eat there. But this was already when we got our food! Long story short. In total we were hit on stupidly 4 times. I had to light my own candle, distribute dishes, cutlery and drinks and didn't even get my rice to eat... We also had to wait 40 minutes for the food and it was definitely not worth the money. All I got from this restaurant is a horror story and a stomach ache. You can't force me to go there again. I can treat myself like shit, but I have enough self-respect that I won't subject myself to an experience like that again. Hopefully this helps someone else not make the same mistake I did.

Mit Dumping-Preisen werden Mittags-Menüs angeboten, man kann sich fragen, woher das Fleisch kommt. Das Essen wird innerhalb von fünf Minuten gebracht. Unangenehm fällt teils der gehetzte Inhaber auf, der sein bemühtes aber überfordertes Personal anschreit. Das war nicht immer so, vor einiger Zeit war dies noch ein gemütlicher Thai in der Mainzer Innenstadt. Die Einrichtung ist schön, deswegen zwei Sterne. Aber es herrscht dort einfach keine schöne Atmosphäre mehr. Wie immer ist dies eine subjektive Einschätzung. Wer beim Essen sparen möchte, ist wegen unschlagbar billigem Essen vielleicht hier richtig. Es ist eben das Motto Masse statt Klasse.

The opening times are not observed. I was there 2 hours before closing time and was told in an unfriendly manner that we would be closing soon and they immediately turned around.
