Texas in Weimar

Service is very unfriendly. Because the space downstairs is very tight for many guests. It can happen that you are thrown a chair so that the service can reach the other guest. The jackets are put on by service without asking. I ended up putting my jacket on the bench. Although there was plenty of food on the plate, the spare ribs were drying. It used to be better!

It was my first or second week in Germany and I was excited to experience my new home. I am a citizen of the United States of America and live in Germany voluntarily because it has always been a dream of mine to live in this country. I've lived here for over a year now, but I still think back to the horrible treatment I experienced as a newcomer to your restaurant over a year ago. I was excited to eat at a steakhouse called Texas Steakhouse. The food was great, no complaints, but when I got up to ask a black-haired, unpleasant, unfriendly woman at the bar if I could use the toilet, "Can I use the toilet?" (My German wasn't very good at the time ) – she looked at me totally annoyed and unwilling and said: “Yes, you CAN.” I didn't even understand what had happened until my German partner asked me about it. I have never been treated like this in the US - no one would dare. Now that I know a little about the culture in Weimar, I suspect that she is either a racist woman or is completely unhappy in her life and desperately needs a “come to Jesus” talk. I love Germany, but I think she was my first example of how unfriendly Germans can be, especially racist ones with black hair. This restaurant should seriously fire her.

A lady waiter with dark hair doesn’t like her job or she is just racist. The food is delicious that’s why I’ve been eating here regardless the rude service. I ordered a glass of wine but the waiter slammed it in front of my child and walked away. I didn’t know why she thought a child would order wine but it was the breaking point for me and I decided never to spend my money here again.

Sehr lecker essen. Service catastrophy.a tall weiteress with black hair is just rude to the core.. it has not happened once or twice that she serves our table and end up almost spoiling a beautiful evening. I think its time for me to look for another Steak Hause in Weimar or Erfurt.

Foreign bodies in food - straw (brown) in salad. After informing the service, we were offered to take one of the two affected salads off the bill (the other salad was a side dish - it's certainly more complicated to charge for that!?). So we got the minimal concession, because the salad wasn't eaten at all and actually it's a given that we don't charge for it, right? We would have been even more happy about a reaction from the kitchen (of whatever kind... there were children there - it could have been solved pretty easily), but that didn't happen at all. So we probably don't want us to be guests at their restaurant again, because we might lose our appetite. It's a shame, because the entrecôte and the other dishes were good.

Super delicious food in a unique atmosphere. There were seven of us there and we would all recommend the restaurant.

We went out for a nice dinner in the evening for our 40th wedding anniversary, just a great restaurant! Recommended the food, the service, the ambience! We'll definitely be back! Thank you very much!

The atmosphere is great and the service is really friendly. The burgers are really tasty too. The steaks are quite raw. Many people like it, but if you want it medium rare or well done you will still get a fairly raw steak.

After making a table reservation online with quick positive feedback, we were guests at Texas. At first the waitress was a bit, let's call it, annoyed. But this went away very quickly. Drinks were served very quickly. Choosing what to eat was actually quite difficult given the tempting offerings. We were more than satisfied with our selection and can only once again send high praise to the kitchen! We will definitely come again and this time we will bring the little child with us :)

Great ambience, very friendly, quick service and excellent fillet of beef with fresh salad. Highly recommended! We'd love to come back when we're in Weimar again!

Unfortunately this time very disappointing in terms of service. As soon as we entered the restaurant, the waitress was clearly annoyed. Unfortunately we also had the table at the top. Which wasn't a problem for us, but meant for you every time: 2 floors to reach us. Loveless, annoyed answers from her when ordering food with repeated questions and then things still went wrong. Everyone has a bad day sometimes, but then they prefer to stay behind the counter and give priority to the other nice colleague who brought us food and one drink. Food was ok, but we've eaten better there. It's a shame that things have gotten worse rather than better over the last few years. It was a test meal for our company event. Unfortunately, we are looking at other options.

The atmosphere was great, almost made me homesick for the tourist trap restaurant's out west, kitschy but groovy! It's expensive, though, 16€+ for a burger and fries, 19 (!!!) for chicken wings, and even appetizers are mostly over 10€... but, that being said, the food was yummy! The buns are made in-house and it shows! Delicious, light, and fluffy. Burger was real beef, and the fries excellent. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and the restaurant was cozy and not crowded. There are fun decorations in every corner. And even overhead -a canoe is suspended from the ceiling. High on wild west atmosphere. While i wouldn't go regularly (only because of the prices), i will definitely go back for a fun night out!

Found this restaurant this evening and even though we didn't make a reservation, we got a nice table by the window. The staff are super nice and friendly and the food is simply delicious 😋 and very filling. The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere. We come from Berlin and when we are back here in Weimar, we would like to come by again. Highly recommended. Thank you very much

Was here again yesterday for dinner with a companion. Until then I was more or less satisfied. Unfortunately this time it didn't work at all! My favorite food, barbecue ribs, was hardly snack quality! The meat was fatty and cold. The sauce that was on it was totally dry and completely inadequate!, and the fries were only lukewarm. The only thing that made me decide to eat the “food” was the fact that I hadn’t eaten anything all day and was therefore very hungry. The direct complaint received no response at all and the second one was downplayed with a shot of tequila. It was definitely the last time we were in this restaurant!!! Good luck for the future!

I had such a lovely experience! My dad and I are on a little road trip to Prague and took a day in Weimar. We weren’t sure about what to get for dinner but as an American, Texas stood out and I said we have to go ! We walked in, were immediately seated, had such fun and kind booth neighbors and were treated with such kindness and respect by the wait staff. The food was SUPURB and was able to *comfortably* fill me up! Usually burgers make you so full you feel sick but it was simply perfect- I can’t describe it. I loved the staff, I loved the conversations with our booth neighbors, and I loved the food. 10/10 will be 1000% coming here again next time I visit Weimar.

Last night I had a bad experience with a co-worker who wore glasses. I got the menu without greeting, Also her attitude and the way she talks are very annoying Maybe she had a bad day?. (use translate)

After an unfriendly reception from a lady who stood up with her left foot, we should have left. After a lukewarm non-alcoholic wheat, one of the burgers was cold and the wedges were anything but crispy. The service didn't get any friendlier. All this for a decent amount of money.

Food and atmosphere is good. But the service is a complete disaster. As soon as we walked in, the woman at the counter who was pouring drinks ignored us. Afterwards, 5m away, another woman leaned on the counter from outside and looked at us. Without a word. Apparently we should now know that she is the waitress. The male waitress at the place was very friendly, but forgot everything. But the highlight was when I asked the waitress at the beginning if my child's food could be packed. Me and everyone at the table could swear she told me to pack the food. After I asked, she said she would pack it up. I can only advise against the restaurant. It's better to go to one of the steakhouses in Erfurt.

Das Ambiente ist ok. Der Service ist bemüht freundlich. Die Küche leider unterirdisch. In der Pasta war ein Haar, „natürlich“ kann passieren, wir sind alles nur Menschen! Pasta wurde zurück genommen und ersetzt, ist in diesem Falle wohl auch das mindeste. Allerdings war diese Pasta dann zerkocht . Bei meinem Mann waren die Pommes noch viel zu weich, das Steak nicht scharf angebraten und trocken. Die Servicekraft hat die Beschwerde zur Kenntnis genommen, aber leider keinen Ausgleich angeboten, sondern nur darauf verwiesen die Kritik weiterzugeben. Bei den tollen Konkurrenten in der Stadt also eher die Empfehlung woanders zu essen.

Despite the not so great weather, we were able to sit outside. We were immediately served in a friendly manner without any long waiting times. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks, starters or main courses. We were also able to make special requests without any problems. The food was very tasty. We were completely satisfied and would come back at any time.😊

Price-performance was proportionate. The food was amazing, the best in a long time. Had the "Honey-Kassler" with the sweet potato puree... The taste was really great, there could have been a little more puree, just because it was so great ;)

But you have a lovely evening there with great food and the best staff & service! I'd love to come back when I'm in Weimar again.

Lecker Filetsteak, schlimme Bedienung. Launig, unfreundlich und genervt. Brille und Tattoo auf der Schulter, diese Bedienung vermeiden. Zudem fehlerhafte Rechnung keine Entschuldigung etc. Fazit: Essen super Bedienung unterirdisch.

Some prices are good, some are a bit much. Steak was quite good. The tables are just a bit small and they wobble a bit outside.

I had dinner there in the evening. You had to wait a long time for your food but it tasted wonderful. The service was ok, but I thought it was a shame that they charged again for a drink that had already been paid for.

We set off to go to one place but after driving around for ages, we couldn't find any where to park. Ended up parked just outside here so we thought we will give it a go. Not my usual choice of eatery but my burger was perfectly good and my husband said his steak was great and came with a huge portion of Bratkartoffeln. The staff were very efficient and welcoming

We came as a group of 6 people, we could only find one table on the aisle, which we didn’t like. Taking into account the fact that there were no visitors inside the restaurant, we ourselves found an alternative - moving 2 tables for 4 people. We wanted to ask one of the waitresses about the possibility of such an idea of ​​ours, but she ran past, telling us to wait a minute (rather rudely). I must say that she didn’t come up to us in a minute or more 😅 the second waitress - a young girl - was more friendly and patient with us, for which we thank her and a lot of points in karma)))) we chose steaks, baked potatoes with shrimp and roast lamb - everything was sooooo tasty, and, by the way, everything was brought very quickly, despite the number of people sitting at the outdoor tables. Special thanks to the cook 🔥 by the way, there is a children's menu. Ours took sausages and fries. Portions are large)

Nice, cozy Western-style restaurant with friendly staff. Anyone who loves meat (steak) will get their money's worth there. Only the burgers 🍔 don't blow your mind straight away, you could be more creative. Price, performance is also OK. 👌

Steak and salad was good. Baked potato a little dry. Corn on the cob too sweet for our taste. Service very friendly. The big negative point is the seating. We were trapped between the next table, the wall and a railing. There was no way we could get through without having to hunt down our neighboring table. The food was served very uncharmingly over the railing behind us. I don't understand why a door isn't installed in the railing. The waitress also agreed that this would make sense. So you are aware of the deficiency. Probably too expensive for the owner since the guests still come. It's a shame...since the food is actually quite good.

The spatial design is very attractive, apart from a few small damages. Like the cowboy, where a hand is broken or there are bowls that are cracked. Unfortunately, the service was also negative. I entered an empty restaurant and was asked if I had a reservation. The question would have been understandable if the restaurant had been filled with a large number of people, but it wasn't. Unfortunately, the food doesn't come out so well either. It was relatively expensive and relatively little. A steak for €25 with side dishes included that filled my plate 50%. Unfortunately, there was no saturation there and the taste was mediocre. Unfortunately, I can only rate the food itself with 2.5 stars. The cocktails, however, are highly recommended. I can confidently give the cocktails 4.5 stars, I really liked them!

I can’t understand all these positive reviews… I came in with my partner last night, we had 2 entrees (one was described as nachos with cheese, but was literally cheese flavoured Doritos with the kind of liquid cheese you get at a cinema, so gross), and 2 mains. A steak which was chewy and tough despite being rare, and a burger that was practically inedible. I really don’t like to leave such bad reviews, I work in hospo and know how reviews effect a business, but the meals we chose really were just horrible. I will say the service was really great though! Despite feeling like paying 70€ for food that was so poor, I still left a 10€ tip, as the waiter we had was lovely and very attentive :) Maybe we caught them on a bad night, maybe we just chose the wrong meals, but I think you could try just a little harder to make the food more appetising.

I always have a great evening in Texas. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The portions are always generous, and the meat is always cooked to perfection - just right, juicy and full of flavor. The ambience is very nice and contributes to a pleasant meal. I eat here often and can say with certainty that Texas is always worth a visit. A clear recommendation for anyone looking for an outstanding steak experience.

Was quite nice. We had a lovely evening. 4 girls finally together again without children. The service wasn't really friendly and quite listless, maybe because it was the weekend, but it was a shame. Food was ok, but overall we would have imagined more. Maybe we had a bad evening.

We were traveling with two hungry children (1.5 and 7 years) on a Sunday afternoon and after being unsuccessful in several local places, we found a place here and didn't regret it. The staff was very friendly, loved children (there was something to paint as soon as we got the menu) and helpful (we had a stroller with us). We ate burgers that tasted very good. The children's meals were also well received and enjoyed with great enjoyment.

Sehr gutes Essen, sowohl für Vegetarier als auch Carnivoren. Die Einrichtung ist sehr urig und gemütlich. Hier gehen wir gern hin, wenn wir in Weimar sind.

Wir haben mittags Hamburger bestellt. Die Brötchen waren sehr weich und dadurch nicht lecker. Die Portionen waren üppig, der Geschmack jedoch nicht überzeugend. Der Service war reserviert, aber nicht unfreundlich. Insgesamt waren wir nicht wirklich zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt.

Immer , wenn ich an Weimar vorbeifahre muss ich ans " Texas" denken. Also umgedreht und auch 2024 wieder mal aufgesucht. Das Essen ist nach wie vor sehr gut , die Atmosphäre passend und die Preise angemessen. Hier werde ich wieder einkehren soweit sich eine Möglichkeit ergibt !!! Die Bilder sagen mehr .....

Wir hatten einen schönen Mädchenabend, es gab lecker Essen, mein Vegi-Burger war super, meine Freundinen haben auch nicht's auf dem Teller gelassen. Bei den Getränken war von der Saftschorle über Bier,Wein bis zu Tequila alles dabei und alles lecker.Gerne wieder.

Super schönes,gemütliches Restaurant,sehr freundlicher Service.Die verschiedenen Gerichte (wir hatten 4 verschieden) sind definitiv zum satt werden,geschmacklich super und frisch und werden sehr schön angerichtet. Das Auge ißt ja immer mit.. Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Gute Lage im Zentrum. Es war eigentlich voll, bekamen dann aber noch einen Tisch, supernettes Personal! Essenauswahl sehr groß, kam schnell und schmeckte hervorragend. Meine Empfehlung! Gern wieder!

Wir haben eigentlich nur durch Zufall das "Texas" gefunden und den letzten freien Tisch ergattert. Das Essen war superlecker, die Bedienung freundlich und zuvorkommend ohne aufdringlich zu sein. Die Cocktails haben uns geschmeckt. Meine Begleitung hat zum ersten Mal überhaupt einen Burger gegessen und war restlos begeistert. Das war nicht der letzte Burger..... Schade nur das wir soweit weg wohnen, sonst würden wir Stammgäste werden.

Waren spontan dort zum Abendessen und haben sofort einen Tisch bekommen obwohl am WE alle Tische nur mit Vorbestellung bzw. Alles schon ausgebucht war ... 👍

Ich war gestern mit meiner Frau und unserem Freund hier essen. Zu essen haben wir bestellt: Bacon & Cheese Burger, Roast Turkey Steak und Grilled Pork Tenderloin Das Essen wurde zügig serviert und es war sehr lecker. Wenn wir beim nächsten Mal wieder in der Nähe sind, kommen wir sehr gerne wieder vorbei. Der Service war freundlich und es hat alles gepasst. Würde es auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.
