Taverna Kreta in Flensburg

Wir hatten Lust auf griechisches Essen und suchten in Flensburg nach passenden Lokalen. Unsere Wahl fiel auf die Taverna Kreta – und das war eine hervorragende Entscheidung! Das Wetter war heute traumhaft, also setzten wir uns in den Biergarten und ließen es uns schmecken. Meine Frau bestellte Souvlaki, Schweinesteak und gegrillte Leber, während ich Lammkoteletts, Souvlaki und Lammsteak wählte. Die Portionen waren so großzügig, dass selbst die griechischen Götter begeistert gewesen wären, und die Aromen entführten uns in eine andere Welt. Zur Begrüßung gab es einen leckeren Ouzo. Perfekt an einem heißen Sommertag! Es war einfach fantastisch! Vielen Dank für das köstliche Essen!

Ein sehr tolles und besonders urigen Restaurant mit all dem Holz. Wunderschön 😊. Das Essen war absolut lecker, es wurde mir empfohlen und ich bin am Anfang sehr skeptisch gewesen, aber das Ergebnis war außergewöhnlich gut. So leckeres Lamm hatte ich nirgendwo gegessen. Nochmals danke, auch an den super Service. Ich kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen 👌👍

Ein authentisches griechisches Restaurant mit leckerem Essen, freundlichem Service und guten Preisen. Ich war schon oft dort und werde definitiv wiederkommen.

Super Laden. Hat uns die letzten 20 Minuten nicht gesagt, was wir bestellen sollen. Der Chef weiß aber, dass wir vier große Colas, viermal einen Pariser Teller, einmal mit Reis und dreimal mit Pommes nehmen sollten 😁

Man bekommt hier wirklich viel für sein Geld.

Top Essen, super Service und einfach jedes Mal eine richtig schöne Atmosphäre. Selbst ohne Reservierung wird immer geschaut, ob noch irgendwo ein Platz möglich ist – das erlebt man heute nicht mehr oft. Das gesamte Team ist unglaublich freundlich und man merkt sofort, dass hier auch nach vielen Jahren noch alle mit Freude bei der Arbeit sind. Ein super gemütliches griechisches Restaurant mit langjähriger Erfahrung. Gute, traditionelle griechische Gerichte. Reichhaltige Portionen zu fairen Preisen. Sehr lecker. Ein wahrer Genuss und ein tolles Erlebnis. Ein Grund, warum wir keine Höchstwertung vergeben können, ist die ausschließlich deutsche Speisekarte. Weder Englisch noch Dänisch gibt es, obwohl wir nur wenige Kilometer südlich der Grenze liegen.

Das Restaurant war sehr gemütlich und urig eingerichtet. Das Servicepersonal war auch sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Was mir persönlich nicht so gut gefallen hat war die Karte bzw. die Gerichte. Für ein griechisches Restaurant waren wenige echt griechische Gerichte zu finden, dafür allerdings mehrere Speisen,die ich der Balkanküche zuordnen würde. Mein Mezeteller war ok, die Weinblätter waren lecker, die frittierten Zucchinis und Auberginen aber viel zu viel,und auch diese Käseecken waren zu dominant, da gibt es doch noch viele andere, leckere griechische Vorspeisen. Bei meinen Kollegen sahen die Portionen, z.B. Schnitzelteller wirklich riesig aus und war anscheinend auch lecker.

Die Vorspeisenplatte war enttäuschend und der Wein zu teuer, 18 € für 0,5 l Retsina.

Wir haben gut gegessen. Das Lokal ist beliebt und ich kann es wirklich empfehlen.

Waren zum ersten Mal im Kreta auf Empfehlung essen und es hat sich gelohnt! Der Service sehr nett und aufmerksam hatten 2 Mal die nr.67 bestellt den Paris Teller* das Fleisch saftig frisch und richtig lecker. Wir kommen wieder. Liebe Grüße

Das Ambiente staamt augenscheinlich aus den 80ern. Sorry, da hat Flensburg mehr zu bieten. Die Preise empfinde ich überhöht.

Leider unverschämt teuer und sehr kleine Portionen geworden. Wenn ich essen gehe möchte ich auch satt werden auch wenn das Essen sehr gut schmeckt.

Very tasty food and generous portions. The atmosphere inside is a bit dark, and unfortunately, credit cards are not accepted — a major downside. Still, the quality and quantity of the food make it worth a visit.

We went to the wedding dinner on October 8th, 2025 and I have to say the warmth that was shown to us is rare. Everything was 100 percent perfect, highly recommended ❤️❤️❤️ P.S. thanks again to the boss and his staff!

Really nice traditional Greek food and nice waiters and fast service

We ordered a platter for two people because we'd seen it was one of the best Greek restaurants in Flensburg. But I can't confirm that; the delivery time was very long. Very little food, and that for €60. Way too little!!! And too expensive - the food was okay. But you don't need to do it again. There are much better Greek restaurants that really boast and are amazing.

I go to Taverna Kreta several times a month and can only say: absolutely recommended! The atmosphere is warm and authentic – you always feel like you're on vacation in Crete. The team is incredibly friendly and attentive, and you're always greeted with a smile. The food is consistently excellent: I particularly enjoy the grilled dishes and traditional appetizers – but basically everything here is delicious! Keep up the good work! :-)

The restaurant impresses with its ambiance. Its decor is very nice. You can sit inside or outside on the terrace. The service staff is very friendly. The portions were more than sufficient. There were six of us, and we all enjoyed our meal. Highly recommended.

Generous tasty portions, an authentic family business from the 70s with a great atmosphere and food straight from the grill. We were served extra tzatziki, salad, fries and liquor. All in all a pleasant experience too!

I visit Taverna Kreta once or twice a month and am always extremely satisfied! My food is always delicious, the service is extremely friendly, and I feel very comfortable in the atmosphere.

I don't understand the good reviews. The food tasted completely overseasoned and was obviously burnt. Maybe it was just because it was very busy. It took another 30 minutes before we could pay. If you make a reservation in advance, you won't have to wait.

I'm disappointed because they don't offer anything vegan and aren't able to put together anything properly. They sell everything separately and charge a lot for it. I can't recommend them.

Amazing experience, waiters are very friendly and food is absolutely perfect. The portions are so filling that I even had dinner from the leftovers the next day. Would definitely go again!

It was very tasty, the service was fast, the portion was large and most importantly very tasty. The atmosphere is very cozy, everything is decorated very well. The service is excellent, but unfortunately payment is only possible in cash! I can only recommend!!!

Finally arrived (again) looking for a really good Greek restaurant. I have been a Greek cuisine junkie for many years and was now almost desperate to find a taverna in Flensburg and the surrounding area that not only mastered one or two disciplines, but was good all around. I knew where to get decent bifteki, whose gyros were passable, and that no one seemed to be able to make souflaki that wasn't dry. But! Taverna Crete can do that! And Susukakia. And gyros. And lamb. And liver! And coleslaw. And tomato rice. And Metaxa sauce - which I've already been offered in some other places - defies description. Here she is fine; In general, the three of us had nothing(!) on our plates that wasn't exceptionally good. It's just crazy that this was pretty much my last attempt; because I was “hooked” in Taverna Crete at the time. Back then I was still a plug, got my first gyros there and haven't been able to live without it (for long) since then ;-). But somehow it was never “on the way” for me. No matter - this restaurant is definitely worth a longer detour. Table has already been ordered for next time... EDIT: Been there several times now. Time for the sixth star - they make the Béarnaise themselves! O_o A butter sauce made with raw egg! You have to be able to do that - and have the courage. This is usually reserved for the high price level. Chapeau; On top of that, it tastes great.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend in der Taverne Kreta! Das Essen war absolut köstlich – von den frisch zubereiteten Vorspeisen bis hin zum perfekt gegrillten Fleisch und Fisch. Besonders die Gyros und die Lammgerichte haben uns begeistert. Der Service war äußerst freundlich und aufmerksam, man fühlt sich hier wirklich willkommen. Die Atmosphäre ist gemütlich und authentisch – genau so, wie man es sich in einer griechischen Taverne wünscht. Wir kommen definitiv wieder und können dieses Restaurant jedem empfehlen, der die griechische Küche liebt! Vielen Dank für den tollen Abend!

Super seriously disappointed. We ordered food on Saturday (2/1/25). Two gyros plates, the gyros smelled like fish. Our women ordered a large salad for €14, which is ok, but the salad was a joke, a slice of cucumber, a lettuce leaf, a few onions, pepperoni and feta. There was so little in it, it was more of a side dish. After calling, the boss stammered that he had already made 150 portions of gyros today and no one had complained, but he was sending up another large portion of gyros. After 5 minutes he called back and said it wouldn't work because it was too late. Again absolutely disrespectful to customers, with the food and the service, in my opinion this is just being ripped off. And then the wrong delivery was made, instead of two meat skewers, two Bifteki were delivered. Definitely never again, thanks for nothing!!!!! If you could give zero points, I would give it

We were in Flensburg as tourists and ate today in the Taverna Kreta. We were thrilled. Great ambience, delicious food and drinks. Very attentive and friendly staff. If we didn't live so far away, this would become our “home Greek”.

Centrally located taverna near the city center. Friendly staff and a rustic atmosphere. Unfortunately, the dishes we ordered lacked some pizzazz and spice... and all the drinks could have been colder! Nevertheless, Taverna Kreta is a solid Greek restaurant.

Because of the positive reviews, I was looking forward to the food. Unfortunately I had to wait over 45 minutes for the food. This was ok, but nothing special in terms of taste. The price for the portion of the food was very good considering the quantity. The taverna is generally very cramped and sometimes overcrowded because there were other people waiting for a table everywhere (at the counter or at the transitions to higher levels). There was only one toilet for women, the other was closed. The table was cleared late and some leftovers were simply left and picked up later. Whether empty drinks or the plates after eating. To pay you had to go to the cash register. Only cash payment possible.

The food was very good, there was enough on the plate and the price-performance ratio was good. It is cheeky to charge more than 5 euros for the side dish 'Metaxasauce'. Unfortunately our reception yesterday wasn't so nice. We had reserved a table for 6:30 p.m. and were directed to a table in the entrance area because our actual table was still occupied. We were told that we would then be seated at our table. After 15 minutes we were brought cards and told that we should now sit where we were dropped off at the beginning. When we asked whether it was possible to get the other table, the answer was bluntly that we would have to wait another 15 minutes. So we had to wait 30 minutes for a table that we had actually reserved… I suspect that after a short thought the service staff came to the realization and after 2 minutes (all of a sudden) we were offered our reserved table...
