Characteristic place with quite good and well-kept food, shame about the service (terrible) I asked for an opinion on a beer and when I said the type I usually like (stout) I was told in a not very nice way that if I wanted that I could go and look for it in another place and oh well, grumpy waitress when we were looking for a opinion or a hand to understand basically told us to make do but in hindsight the food at least was good leaving aside the fact that always asking for information about the food due to my mother-in-law's eating problems they told us one thing for another bringing her a which she could not eat and therefore leading her to fast. I hope they solve these problems because the building was actually very nice.

Traditional, down to earth food at good prices. It's not fancy, but it's tasty. I especially liked the Bolognese, while the salad and spatzle were decent.

We were really ripped off with the Brotzeit Platter. They asked for €36 plus bread 6 x 1.80.

The salad and the schnitzel were excellent. The salad is fresh, the chilli pieces of meat are very tasty in sweet/sour. The schnitzel in the horseradish breading was also great. The service staff were extremely friendly and attentive. I'm completely thrilled.

Strongly do not reccomend this place. Terrible food. Ordered Munich schnizel and it looked completely burned. Potatoes looked and tasted terrible. Even 5 years old kid would manage to cook such dish better.

Perfect quality and very generous portions make this restaurant my absolute favorite. Not to forget the cozy and rustic atmosphere.

In Munich you can find big and more beautiful brewery but this looks really authentic and the food is very nice. I tasted bavarian sauseges, exceptional, and some nice glasses of beer. Portions are big, you could share the plate. Very nice place

There were 6 of us. After the food had to wait 45 minutes, only half of the people at the table received their food. After repeated, unsuccessful requests and another 30 minutes, the last dish (obviously forgotten) came to the table after everyone else had already eaten. It is probably clear that the food for the entire table should come at the same time. In all dishes, the fried potatoes (more like boiled, unsalted potatoes) left a lot to be desired and overall rather unconvincing dishes. Overall, a wasted evening, a shame. Unfortunately we won't be back any time soon.

We were in this restaurant during a road trip from Germany. This restaurant was our favorite. A very German atmosphere. The waitresses are very nice and give good advice. We tried different dishes and each of them was delicious. Prices are correct. I highly recommend.

We had absolutely delightful dinner in Tattenbach Wirtshaus & Stüberl while visiting Munich. The place is 10 out of 10: the food looked gorgeous and was delicious. We had four different entries and everything was great. The service was fast, attentive and very personal. It felt like we were in our good friends' home. The prices are very good for the quality and the amount of food. And, of course, the beer was as it could be in Munich. Outstanding!. I strongly recommend going there . It's located in a very beautiful not very touristy neighborhood.

We found this place via Google Maps as one of the higher scoring Bayern kitchen restaurants. They did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and funny. As if that wasn’t enough, the food was amazing. The waitress recommended the München Schnitzel and boy, that was some schnitzel. 10/10. Even though there was a mishap with our order, we didn’t mind. The staff made sure we didn’t feel left out and stroked up conversation, gave extra attention and made us feel so so so welcome. They handled everything very well and with a lot of warmth. Next time we’re in München, we’ll definitely be back!

Unfortunately it was very full, which meant that the wait staff was very stressed and had little time for us. The food was very average without being particularly picky but also without any mistakes. Overall, an average meal with no highlights.

We had dinner in this inn on Sunday evening. The food was really excellent – ​​large portions and very high quality. We can mostly agree with the positive reviews from other guests. BUT there was a very annoying incident: An employee made provocative comments about our “girl drinks” (Spezi and Schorle) and the corresponding dishes, which in his opinion were only ordered at our table. He really needed an argument as to why we didn't want beer - even if it was absolutely none of his business. Even though we're above such things, it still made us think twice about ordering another drink. In the end we left it and moved on. It's really a shame that you are treated like that just because you don't feel like drinking alcohol (beer). This incident leaves a bitter aftertaste and we are considering visiting another pub nearby in the future. That's a real shame because the food and atmosphere are otherwise really great.

Beautiful pub with disappointing food. The mostly good reviews were the reason we stayed here. Unfortunately I cannot understand this. Vacation replacement? Other kitchen crew? For the quoted tariff, two thin mini pork schnitzels with pale, greasy breadcrumbs, fried potatoes that were dripping with fat. The salad with chicken breast, which is served fried until rock hard, comes with pieces of walnuts, which was not what was ordered and was not convincing for the dish, and the mushrooms that were served with it were so extremely hot that the suspicion arose that the microwave was set for too long . It didn't taste good either. The roast pork we ordered came when everyone else at the table had almost finished eating. The Kaiserschmarren was so-so, I would have expected a fluffy dessert reminiscent of Kaiserschmarren instead of the hard, heavy lumps of flour: Conclusion: I'd like to have a drink, but no longer eat it.

This is what Bavarian cuisine has to be like! Large portions, good beer and excellent service. A real Bavarian experience that I can only recommend

Scharnigarten with umbrellas (for those outside: restaurants outside on the street), in a quiet side street. Very popular, always busy, so make a reservation. After 10 p.m. it's sometimes closed outside (because of the neighbors). Augustinian beer. Friendly staff, good traditional dishes. Gladly again.

We were there Friday evening around 11:30pm for 2 beers and 2 shots. Unfortunately, at that time the inn was already empty except for two guests. Service was friendly and super nice. Map has changed a lot in the last 5 years. I always thought the snack plates were great.

Great, the Kaiserschmarren is excellent!

The three of us were recently in Tattenbach. Despite the beautiful rooms inside, we decided to sit in the Schanigarten and were served so warmly that this deserves special mention. In addition to the above-average service, the food is also worth highlighting. We all decided on a Viennese veal schnitzel, where we chose different side dishes (fried potatoes, which are regular, and butter spaetzle, which were brought instead of the potatoes at no extra charge) The schnitzels were super tender and the breading was just as fluffy as you would expect. In the end, the mega-looking Kaiserschmarrn didn't fit in anymore because the portion of the main course was extremely large, but we still talked for a long time with the chef, who told us a lot about the origin of the meat and also about his methods (e.g. that... Meat is not pounded, but pressed to retain its juiciness) All in all, a really great visit to the restaurant and a really big recommendation.

Really 1 A Although it was very full, we were warmly welcomed and, after a short wait, we were able to eat together comfortably with a small drink. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent both to the eye and to the taste. We all ordered different dishes and were thrilled. For dessert we shared a Kaiserschmarrn, which was also delicious. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Munich.

Service was top tier!! There was a guy who noticed we were meandering outside and asked if we wanted help. He easily got us a table for 8 and a high chair for the baby. He even went out of his way to let her play with a toy from the back (the drawing pad). They got us English menus and told us about the lunch special that wasn’t on the English menu. It was decently priced and the food was delicious. They were very attentive and was very foreigner friendly. Best experience! Definitely give them a try. The inside is pretty and clean as well. The bathroom has a changing table (RARE!!!) and spare diapers. The owner knows what they’re doing!!!

We came here for lunch and were immediately sat down. The employees here are so friendly and so willing to help. They provided us with English menus but were also so willing to explain the specials on their regular menu so that way we could know of the other foods they have available. The owner (or manager) was so friendly and got a toy for the baby in our party. The food was so good. We ended up getting schnitzel and the dessert which was extremely tasty. Inside the restaurant it was extremely clean and the decor was super cute. I'd highly recommend coming here to eat.

Really very good food and equally friendly service. Admittedly, we were there outside of normal times. The Wiener Schnitzel was very tender and well prepared. The meatballs were really impressively soft and harmoniously seasoned. The taste of the Kaiserschmarrn was extremely good, only the consistency was a little different than usual. The price of the food was fair for the quality delivered.

Total failure: It took 20 minutes from ordering to bringing the beer. The sausage salad, which was ordered as a starter, arrived after 45 minutes - but then at the same time as the first main course. The second main course followed 10 minutes later. That doesn't work at all. The reason given was that there was a larger group inside. Ok, but then please only accept as many guests as can be adequately catered for. Unfortunately that wasn't the case for us! By the way, there was no apology or anything like that.

Tourist trap… I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel from the menu for €19 and our waiter asked pork or beef so i chose beef. when i received the bill they charged me €25 euros which was €6 extra for beef, an upcharge that wasn’t listed on the menu. on top of this she scoffed at me when i chose not to tip her and she urged everyone at our table to tip which i found very rude. i’m pretty sure it’s illegal to charge extra without showing it on the menu so i will definitely dispute this charge

Public viewing in the back room, with the entire front area empty. Schnitzel was ok, the fried potatoes were half burnt. The innkeeper cleared the room himself and didn't say anything else about it.

During our last visit to this quaint Bavarian restaurant, we were surprised by exceptional friendliness. The food was delicious, especially the traditional Munich Schnitzel

Despite the many waitresses (3), who had noticed us and didn't seem overworked, we were initially ignored for 20 minutes until two sticky cards were literally slammed onto our table without a smile. We weren't surprised when the wrong food came and we were actually shouted at, nor when my brother had his dish slapped in front of him first. Even though I ordered the same thing, I waited another 15 minutes for my food, so "eating together" wasn't an option either. My dish was declared on the menu as schnitzel with fried potatoes. There were two small pieces of flattened meat on the plate, which were stuck between breading that was twice as thick, so 1/5 meat, 4/5 breading - just lukewarm. The "fried potatoes" were 3 small cold boiled potatoes in fragments that disappeared under an enormous mountain of parsley. But the absurd amount of parsley didn't make the cheeky little portion of breading with cold boiled potatoes any more attractive. The 5 euro SIDE SALAD was neither bite-sized nor fresh, half ended up on the table when I tried to eat it politely. All in all, it was an impudence that, at over 30 euros and the almost unpleasant looks from the unfriendly staff, was really a waste of money and time and was absolutely not in line with the reviews that made us visit this place. When I told the waitress that my food was basically cold, she just shrugged her shoulders. Bad hosts produce unhappy customers. Kind regards

Authentic Bavarian cuisine with great service

Maybe they just don't like Australians...but after travelling through Europe for over a month now this place stands out for its bad service and poor attitude...the food is okay, but not worth the dismissive rudeness. Avoid...there are LOTS of other places to eat!

Had dinner there with friends this evening. The Munich schnitzel was great, the fried potatoes that came with it were unfortunately almost cold and some of them were burnt. When the waitress was clearing up, she said this...and a short time later coffee or schnapps was offered as an apology. That's a great response to a complaint! And things can sometimes go wrong in the kitchen. We'd love to come back!

I find this place very appealing and met friends here. Were here for the first time and I thought it was great! The staff were cheerful and very attentive. I also really liked the menu, something for everyone. So overall definitely worth 5 stars!

A very friendly and funny waitress with the qualities a decent waiter is to have :). The gasthaus offers a wide beer selection and some wines. I do, however, have some comments about the food. The Spargelcremesuppe/asparagus cream soup was good and tasty but the pieces of the asparagus were cut into huge pieces unable to be put inside one's mouth in one bite. Moreover, my dad's main course, the Wienerschnitzel and the side roasted potatoes, was (a little bit) burned which caused an unappetising taste. For dessert we of course had to try the Kaiserschmarrn which takes, according to the menu, about 30 minutes to bake. Well, we were waiting for almost 30 minutes when we heard the waitress ask the chef: »Where is the Kaiserschmarrn?« He apparently forgot about it and then wanted to make it as quickly as possible. Unfortunately such desserts take time to be baked and in the end it was served ... well, it could be left on the stove for a minute or two more. The taste itself was still good though. On the other hand, the Käsespätzle and the fried chicken thighs with potato salad were tasty. The cost: 4 people; 2 soups, 1 big mixed salad, 4 main dishes, 1 Kaiserschmarrn and drinks: about 130 €. Overall a good experience with some details to be improved.

The menu offered a selection of traditional Bavarian dishes, all of which were deliciously prepared. The schnitzel was juicy and tender, the dumplings were fluffy and the cheese spaetzle was wonderfully creamy. The whole thing was rounded off by a diverse selection of hearty and sweet desserts.

The food is acceptable, but nothing special. The terrible service. There were 4 of us and we ate separately because they weren't able to bring all the orders at the same time, but with a nice separation. The first dish was brought to us after an hour of waiting, the last one was eaten after 1 hour and 40 minutes, after, moreover, they arrived at the table twice with the wrong dish. We noticed that other tables also arrived with the wrong dish and had to go back (prolonging the wait). I absolutely don't recommend it.
