A very nice Augustiner in an old building. They don't serve beer from wooden barrels, but it tastes very good. Seating is sometimes a bit cramped, but if the beer is good, it doesn't matter! The food was very good. The service was friendly, and you can pay by card. Everything was top-notch.

I spontaneously dropped in on a Friday lunchtime without a reservation and easily found a seat. My goal was to try the lunch menu – and I wasn't disappointed. There was a minor disagreement, which was resolved very professionally. Overall, the food was delicious, the value for money was really excellent, and the central location is also a plus. The service was extremely friendly, and I really enjoyed my lunch here. I'd love to go back!

A very cozy and quaint inn located in the quiet Lehel district of the old town. Some tables are also available outside, right in front of the inn. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The food (here, Wiener Schnitzel) is delicious, and the Augustiner beer comes fresh from the tap. 👍👍👍 Highly recommended!

The food is soooo delicious! The three of us had the pleasure of stopping by Tattenbach on Friday, and my goodness! The onion roast is a poem! The steamed dumpling is truly, as advertised, "just like grandma's." The vegetarian options are, it must be said, rather limited. Still, definitely highly recommended!

A very quaint inn with good food and large portions at a really fair price. Unfortunately, it was very crowded and the kitchen was completely overworked. Most of the waiters were also busy, and not particularly friendly. Only the blonde waitress was super nice, very helpful, and very sorry about the wait. The Kaiserschmarren (sweet pancakes) is amazing. You should definitely try it.

If there's one Bavarian restaurant that deserves full marks in every respect, it's this one! - Let's start with the (in my opinion) best beer in the world: Augustiner. The food is authentically Bavarian and prepared and served in honest, home-style cooking (as far as that's possible in a restaurant). No frills or fuss. But in generous portions. . . . . The reception, service, and waitresses are friendly, cheerful, and competent. It's no coincidence that this restaurant is fully booked almost every evening. The price-performance ratio is completely acceptable. - The washrooms and toilets appear clean and well-maintained. - Parking in this part of town is rather difficult. - The "Lehel" subway station is in the immediate vicinity.

No matter how busy it is, they make sure you have a seat. And with a big smile on their face. And the food? Fantastic. Glad we found this.

You wait forever - but you get the smallest and most unloving sausage salad in Munich 🥴 The schnitzel is served with meager, almost raw/barely pan-fried potatoes 🤣 - Enjoy! At least the outside seating was nice and the waitress very friendly. But that's not enough to warrant another visit...

I visited the café and was unfortunately disappointed by the service. The employee at my table seemed rude and disinterested. Even though I spoke clearly, she seemed to deliberately refuse to understand what I was ordering. This behavior was very unpleasant for me and negatively impacted my visit. I would like to highlight the food on a positive note, though – it was truly delicious.

I went here for lunch for the first time on a recommendation and was very pleasantly surprised. The Tattenbach is still a restaurant that can truly be described as Munich-style. Very good value for money... I have no idea how some Munich residents manage to pack a schnitzel + fried potatoes + side salad, but I've been served just the schnitzel and half of the fried potatoes. The service was always very courteous and friendly. I was very satisfied all around! P.S. The waiter, who always brings you a fresh beer when there's only a sip left and the beer mat isn't on the glass, was unfortunately not there today. 😅

I had already used the delivery service a few days ago and tried the Wiener Schnitzel with fried potatoes and cranberries, which, in addition to the very generous portion, tasted excellent. This piqued my curiosity, and I was determined to stop by again in person. My friend and I were greeted and served very warmly by the waitress Michaela, and we also got the best seats – thank you again for that. We were also pleasantly surprised that we could order food until 11 p.m. I had a roast pork, which once again absolutely met my expectations. We can only recommend Tattenbach and would gladly return for another Kaiserschmarrn.

We first came here two years ago. In my opinion, they have the best schnitzels I've ever eaten. Super thin, tender, and deliciously breaded. The fact that they serve fried potatoes is also a sign of quality. We're already looking forward to our next visit to Munich!

I loved this Lehel neighborhood restaurant. The friendly staff made me feel welcome and at home. You know that "Cheers" feeling: "where every body knows your name". That sums it up. And, the food is excellent, plentiful, and at the right price.

The Tattenbach is a fantastic Bavarian restaurant! We went there two evenings in a row because we enjoyed it so much and, above all, the food was delicious! We'll be back as soon as our next trip to Munich is around the corner!

We were excited to try authentic Bavarian food and made a reservation in advance. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by the attitude of our server. In our group, we had both locals and tourists, but this seemed to annoy the waiter even more. The loud sighs, eye-rolling, and dismissive behavior made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. Although a half-hearted apology was eventually offered, it did little to make up for the poor treatment. Sadly, none of us would consider returning or recommending this establishment based on the service we received.

I live 600 km away and am only in Munich every two months. But we always plan to have lunch there. The lunch menu is very affordable and filling, and they include a coffee for dessert. The atmosphere is pleasant both inside and outside in the summer. Very friendly and welcoming staff. They always recognize you, even if you're there rarely, like us. Keep up the good work!

On Friday evening there were just a few seats available inside, so we sat outside. It was chilly outside, and I got a bit cold while waiting for the meal. But it was good that it was much less crowded and noisy outside. We wanted to try Weisswurst but they ran out of it unfortunately. So we went with Munich Schnitzel and Käsespätzle. It was our first time trying them.

Rustic, warm, Bavarian – exactly what we were looking for! We wanted authentic Bavarian cuisine, and at Tattenbach, we got it. Even before dinner, we were greeted personally by the chef, who warned us, friendly but firm, about the impending rain. Thanks to his advice, we secured a table inside in time – great! The meal was exactly as we hoped: hearty, delicious, and truly rustic. We finished off the evening with a cozy beer while we waited for the taxi, and he gave us some great tips about the surrounding area. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience authentic Bavarian hospitality!

Historic Bavarian inn with lunch at a low price. Even in January 2025 it will still be €9.90. Top in the otherwise very expensive Lehel. But be careful: don't choose meat dishes here, as they are of average quality at best. Anyone expecting homemade potato salad for lunch will be disappointed here too. This is definitely a convenience product for large catering establishments. Okay, the price level has to come from somewhere. One star deducted because the parasols, which are now firmly cemented into the public sidewalk, are not taken down even out of season. And these are so ugly that as a resident you wonder who could approve something like that. After all, the “wall of shame” on the street had to be dismantled. If you don't know it, it refers to the Schanigarten enclosure, which is more than man-high.

If you like typical Munich beer halls, this is the place for you. The relatively small space makes it much quieter than Munich's larger pubs. However, this doesn't detract from the ambiance or atmosphere. The food was excellent, and the service was quick and very attentive.

Unbelievably good. The meals were very reasonably priced, around €20 each (for central Munich that is very fair) but the quality of food was unbelievable - so, so, good. That same evening I went to another standard Biergarten and the prices were 50% more and the quality was 50% worst. This place is truly great and highly recommend. (Service was also great)

I really enjoy coming to Tattenbach again and again. the ambience, the service, the food - everything works for me here. As a couple, you don't really need to make a reservation if you arrive early - but reservations are recommended. My recommendation: drink half a duck and eat half a duck. 🤗 I love it and have never been disappointed. It is currently possible to sit outside again - perfect for warm days.

Great meat balls and spaetzle, great dessert, great service

All I have to say is wow! We had gotten to Munich late between cancelled trains and a slower Flixbus but we made it there. It was very late though and I didn't want my first meal in Munich to be fast food or UberEATS so, we found Tattenbach which was serving food until 23:00. We walked in and it was just like you'd imagine a München bierhaus would be. My wife and I ordered the München Schnitzel, which is similar to the normal Weiner Schnitzel but with accents of mustard in the breading. It was delicious. We also tried the spätzle and that was great as well. The server recommended a draft beer and it was also perfect, though I didn't get the name. All and all it was really a perfect end to a long day.

Unfortunately, I can't fully confirm the good reviews. We were spontaneously and friendly assigned a table and were served very quickly. The food came about 15 minutes apart for 4 people, which was a shame, but not tragic. My schnitzel came last and I have to say that it was the worst meal I've had in a restaurant in decades. The schnitzel was probably what was left, it was completely mixed and consisted of 50% burnt breading, the fried potatoes were also charred and almost unseasoned. Actually inedible, to be honest. The portion was more for a child, which surprised me a lot. Since I was very hungry, I washed down the food. I pointed out my disappointment to the waitress when I was clearing away, but the rather rude comment was that there was nothing they could do about it. When I went out (still hungry) I saw about twice the portion on the other plates and wonderful-looking schnitzels. I have rarely felt so fooled after seeing this. Whatever went wrong for me, the €25 was, to be honest, an absolute disgrace. Unfortunately we don't go here anymore.

The restaurant is quaint and cozy. We arrived on a Sunday evening as a couple without a reservation, but managed to get a table in the adjoining parlor. The fried chicken with potato salad we ordered was truly outstanding, and the service throughout was attentive and friendly. We were delighted.

We've been here several times because the food is delicious. In the summer, you can sit outside in front of the restaurant. In our experience, you can still get a table for two people until 5 p.m. on weekdays, but it's safer to reserve by phone.

I would especially like to warn tourists First of all it was a busy day and we have waited food one hour . The waitress has warned us about it so it was not problem for us. However they did not bring food all together and we could not eat together. The food was tasty and good enough but not something special . We asked bill and the waitress asked us to pay 10 % of bill as a tips. Fortunatelly we had local person with us and he said that this is not normal for munich. We can give tip as much as we wish to give . When we pay 5% tips the waitress was angry and she was not nice to us. If you go there and if they ask tip be sure you can give whatever you want I think i will not recommend this place . You can find the bill and prices in the photos ✌️
