Visit on September 24th, approximately 7:00–8:30 p.m. The food was top-notch! A very good selection of dishes, all freshly and authentically prepared. The service was extremely friendly and attentive – you feel truly welcome. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten track from the tourist center, but it's absolutely worth a visit. Excellent value for money! If we're in Dresden again, we'll definitely be back.

We were actually on our way to another restaurant and were lured by the ambiance and the delicious smell as we walked by. A good decision! The restaurant is very chic, modern, but with the appropriate flair. The food was delicious, and the staff very friendly and accommodating. We've eaten Indian food many times and were very impressed with this place! The paneer is highly recommended! We would come again! :)

Brother, the taste of Indian food in Dresden is amazing. I haven't found anything better than India. I went to Dresden for 10 days and ate at this restaurant daily. It's definitely number 1. I had the same problem. I'm from Haryana. After eating, I was paying with my card. The lady said, "You're from Pakistan." I thought to myself, "My face looks so bad."

Super delicious food, very friendly staff, and a charming outdoor terrace – a real treat! Good value for money. Also worth mentioning are the spacious and very clean restrooms.

We tried Kadhai Paneer and Shahi Sabzi with rice and naan, and were served complimentary papad. The curries were rich and flavorful, though the naan was oddly thick, more like a pizza base. On another visit, the Veg Biryani was excellent, served with papad and refreshing raita. Overall, a delicious experience with authentic flavors. The service was extremely good.

After some initial difficulties with the service, which was apparently overwhelmed by our larger group, including a wheelchair user, despite having made a reservation, it was all in all a pleasant experience.

Disgusting chicken Curry, just cubes of chicken in a brown sauce, absolutely tasteless

As someone who loves authentic Indian food, I rarely eat at Indian restaurants in Europe anymore—it’s almost always a waste of time and money. Many places here have altered the recipes beyond recognition to cater to local tastes, especially in Germany where spice is toned down to the point that only the dish names remain Indian. This place was no exception. I ordered chole bhatura and was served what can only be described as a deep-fried slice of regular bread loaf and that’s it. When I asked the waitress if she knew what chole bhatura actually was, she confidently said that’s what it was. That was my warning sign. Still, we were hungry, so we decided to try the main course. Unfortunately, it only got worse—rubbery, flavorless paneer and a dal makhani that tasted like watery lentils with cream. No spice, no depth, no authenticity. If you’ve ever eaten real Indian food, this will only make you miss home cooking even more. Another disappointing “Indian” restaurant in Dresden.

A great Indian restaurant. We chose Kadhar chicken, butter chicken, and mango chicken. Each option was delicious. It's worth coming during special hours, as they always offer a little less. The only downside was that the waitress wasn't quite in the mood. Interesting refreshing sweets at the end and a nice pre-course snack. Of course, the Mango Lassi is a must-have.

All I did was politely ask for my dish to be redone because it was simply not right, and instead of handling it professionally, the staff responded with rudeness and arrogance. One of them actually told me to go to another restaurant. Unbelievable. To make matters worse, as they were closing, I was rushed and told to finish fast. That’s not hospitality.

I ordered a paneer dish but it was not really authentic indian taste. The curry was sweet rather then spicy. I personally didn't like behavior of staff.

Ate here for the second time, the taste was great again, the atmosphere in the dining room is pleasant, and the restrooms are very clean. However, I don't see why I can't order naan bread INSTEAD of rice with my meal. I even said I'd pay extra for the bread, but please don't serve me the rice, because I don't eat it anyway (!!!). Nevertheless, the rice arrived and was then thrown away untouched. It just hurts my soul! Also, no one came to serve us after we finished the main course and it was cleared away. We ended up paying at the counter, not sure if that's the intention. Please work on both of these points, because the food is truly delicious and I'd like to come back more often!

The food is decent and definitely worth recommending for the lunch price. However, the regular price of €9.90 is a bit overpriced compared to €14.90. This applies equally to the quality and the portion size. It's just a friendly Indian restaurant, but nothing more.

Very friendly and attentive service, who take allergies and intolerances into consideration. I highly recommend the grill plate; it's enough for 2-3 people. ^^ Very good value for money, super delicious. The lassis are very tasty.

- Food poisoning - Located relatively in the countryside, unfortunately still close enough to the main road for it to be quite noisy. The service was very friendly, but the atmosphere on the terrace was rather sad. You sit next to the trash cans. In the restroom, I met a woman who was having severe digestive problems. I, the idiot that I am, didn't put two and two together and carried on eating in peace. The taste didn't blow us away. On the way home, I started to get cramps, and 20 minutes later, my husband did. You'll have to decide for yourself.

Golden temple is there, c'mon. Talk about hospitality. Learn something from there, Instead, I was dismissed, insulted, and made to feel like I didn’t belong. Rather than acknowledging the mistake or offering a simple apology, I was told to take my business elsewhere. Shame on you. This is not how you run a restaurant. And this is certainly not how you treat your own people. I will never return, and I sincerely hope others think twice before stepping into this place expecting any semblance of decency.

The food is incredibly good, and the portion sizes are also decent. We were there for the lunch special, so the prices were reasonable. The service was a bit stressed and therefore not very accommodating, but it's still a really nice place to sit and enjoy yourself :)

Very tasty Indian food! We chose both vegetarian and chicken dishes and were very satisfied with all of the dishes. A highlight was Indian draft beer! The toilet was extremely clean and smelled pleasant. We will come back👍

We had dinner today and ordered Nan, chicken curry and paneer curries. Every curry has the same flavor and so sweet. It does not have any taste and food was really bad.

We wanted to spend a pleasant evening with good conversation and delicious food. That almost worked at "Taste of India": The food was truly delicious, we had a few drinks, and we had a good time. BUT then the clocks ticked towards 10:00 PM, and the previously friendly staff suddenly went crazy: One of us was followed to the smoking area and asked if he didn't want to (finally) pay. My wife was forced to down her almost half-full beer glass, and a cleaning freak hurled his mop between our feet. Dear "Taste of India" team: Are you serious??? What evil spirit took over you last night around 10:00 PM?

Located very close to Albertplatz. Very nice facility. Starter: Indian vegetable soup. Very creamy with coconut milk. The vegetables are still slightly crunchy, but due to the spicy seasoning, only the coconut is palatable, unfortunately nothing else. Main course: Tandoori chicken. Was served with rice. The chicken meat was nice and firm, but not dry at all. The sauce is moderately spicy. However, the accompanying vegetables were also completely covered with the sauce and thus largely lost their own taste. A word about portion size. The chicken was way too much for us. I think it's terrible to leave leftovers that then have to be thrown away. There would be significantly less meat here, much better and more pleasant for the guests. A word about the ambience: The tables (70X70?) would be big enough for 2 people if plated meals were served. But if, like we do, there are two simmering plates of meat and a bowl of rice, it's far too narrow. I had to give the flower vase and the candle on the table to the waiter so that there was room to fit everything. Ventilation is inadequate. Apparently the passage to the kitchen is permanently open and the cooking fumes are sometimes wafting into the restaurant. In winter it is of course difficult to open a window to ventilate. We were then able to experience the result live. A solution must definitely be found here. Conclusion: comparatively cheap way to eat well. However, there are very clear deficiencies in the atmosphere (tables that are too small and too full - very poor ventilation in the restaurant) Not recommended for a really nice evening.

Altogether the place quite nice to visit, it’s have great ambience and outdoor seating in summer, service is adds on that. My Kadai paneer could be more spicy but it was not spicy enough. A German friend of mine order lamb dish, he said it was good. I have to ask to change the Gulab jamun, rest everything was good.

Our table wasn't ready yet, which is okay because we were a little early. However, we were upset because we waited outside the door during that time. Then we had to change tables after ordering and then waited 55 minutes for the drinks. When we asked after 45 minutes there was no apology. After 55 minutes we left without drinking or eating anything.

Didn't book a table, but got a seat for two despite the restaurant being full. Food was very good and service was very friendly. Thank you and see you next time.

Good food with a large selection including vegetarian items

The staff and the environment of the restaurant are cool. Tasteless meat, as if it was cooked separately, without sauce, without spices and probably even salt. The taste of the sauces itself is also no glory. I consider it unfair to charge an unsolicited invoice.. two weak patties of something, with a little dip (or whatever it was) for 3.50..

It's a wonderful experience: quality of food, service, atmosphere & price. We'll go again for sure, it's just 20 mins. walk from old downtown and it's really worth while!!

The Taste of India in Dresden is really great. The backyard is nice and quiet and cozy, you don't even notice that you are right on Albertplatz. The food tastes really good, always fresh and spicy. The service is quick and friendly. Whenever I feel like Indian food, this is always my first choice. Absolutely recommended!

A delight for the palate, it was so delicious that we not only went there on New Year's Eve but again on New Year's Day.

Nice restaurant, a lot of emphasis is placed on the Indian look, it tasted a bit European and cost quite a bit. Still recommended for those who would like to try something exotic but haven't really dared to try it yet.

I was disappointed after having eaten well there several times before Corona. The mango curry was watery and bland by Indian standards. My colleague thought his chicken curry was good. Price for the Mango Lassi is very ambitious.

Unfortunately, the premises are quite cluttered with tables in order to serve as many customers as possible. Which made our evening very un-relaxing. It's not a nice atmosphere. There was a very large selection of food and dishes. Overall, the portions were not very balanced, the vegetarian dish was quite small and manageable, while another, the one containing meat, was very extensive and large. The rooms were very warm, they tried to ventilate the rooms through open doors, but the windows were closed and were not opened when asked. There was no barrier-free access for this restaurant, even though it was stated.

Very good food, you will love it but everything is chargeable here , somehow it is good at least nothing will be wasted. The only thing I didn't like is their naan, the style and taste is completely different from the entire world, maybe others may like it somehow I didn't. The owner is a friendly person and the cook is really good , ensuring you order all the food items together because they take time to cook with real taste and aroma. You will get fresh items and I suggest you try their dal, it is really tasty.

We had fond memories of the restaurant from a previous visit to Dresden. This time too the food tasted good, but on Friday evening it was very crowded with constant comings and goings and the corresponding background noise. The employees ran their heels off and seemed overwhelmed. When we did get the chance to reorder drinks, it took a long time (we could see other guests doing the same thing and people who didn't know each other before starting to talk about it), and they were slammed onto our table as we passed without looking at us or taking empty glasses with us. We were not asked whether we still had wishes or whether we were satisfied. It is desirable that space capacity and staffing options would be better coordinated. Until then, it's probably better to go there on a weekday.

Glad that we chose this restaurant when looking for Indian restaurants in Dresden. It's all positives about the restaurant - the people, food and the ambience. Visiting Dresden from a comparitively smaller city, we were surprised to see so many locals trying Indian cusine. You will know why after tasting the food here. The people at the restaurant are courteous and the food is amazing, spicy to our taste which we really loved. The biryani here is different but delicious none the less. When you are here you must try the Jal jeera, it was refreshing. During our two days stay, we dined here twice. Our daughter insisted that we dine here just for the biryani and Jal jeera.

I tried a few dishes at this Indian restaurant. The chicken soup and chicken biryani were both tasty, even though the biryani wasn’t entirely authentic. The samosa, however, was disappointing. Service and atmosphere were both pleasant.

“Note: They would report you in case you put a negative review.” Absolutely bang average food. We ordered chicken biryani which is more like pulav (chicken extremely overcooked and chewey). Key highlights: 1) Stingy about utensils - after we finished our starters, the waiter came to collect utensils and didn’t take the cutlery and instead asked ‘please keep the dirty cutlery aside and use the same for main course instead of replacing it’ 2) Misplaced the order - order aloo and gobi bhajiya and instead we got aloo and paneer 3) takeaway mess - mixed plain rice with “biryani and chicken”. Some of the above things are basic stuff.

Went here after a bit of a long search in the Neustadt and were very pleasantly surprised. The food was great, the service was very fast and the waiters were friendly. The ambience was modern and appropriate.

If you're looking for real Indian food, you've come to the wrong place. We ordered biryani for €18 per dish. You can expect a good meal there. It was more of a rice pan with a few pieces of lamb. We would have gotten more quality in the Neustadt for half the price. There was also a hair in my food, which was simply acknowledged without comment. The service was just such a joke. Waited forever to order and the staff seemed very listless. First time there and also the last time!

We had high hopes for the food given the lovely ambience, but unfortunately, our experience fell short. We faced a long wait before our meals were served. When the food finally arrived, we were disappointed to find that our chicken samosas were just filled with mashed potatoes, and the main dishes lacked flavour. Additionally, our butter naan was served without butter. The staff did not check in with us about our meal after it was served, and when we mentioned our concerns during billing, they placed the blame on us for not speaking up sooner but in reality, they were not even around to call them and express our concerns. I will not recommend this place if you are looking for authentic Indian food. And please don't be fooled by the ratings of this place.

Teníamos grandes esperanzas para la comida dado el ambiente encantador, pero desafortunadamente, nuestra experiencia se quedó corta. Nos enfrentamos a una larga espera antes de que nuestras comidas fueran servidas. Cuando la comida finalmente llegó, nos decepcionó encontrar que nuestras samosas de pollo solo estaban llenas de puré de papas, y los platos principales carecían de sabor. Además, nuestra mantequilla naan fue servida sin mantequilla. El personal no se registró con nosotros sobre nuestra comida después de que se sirvió, y cuando mencionamos nuestras preocupaciones durante la facturación, nos echaron la culpa por no hablar antes, pero en realidad, ni siquiera estaban para llamarlos y decir nuestras preocupaciones. Overall food experience was good but the service was very bad. The waitress was very unpleasant and no good to the guests. Seems like she was working forcefully. Anyway recommend for food not for hospitality.

Begrüßung an der Grenze zur Unverschämtheit bei der Antwort auf die Frage, ob wir im Garten sitzen könnten. OK, also mit gemischten Gefühlen auf die lezten freien Sitzplätze der Terasse im Eingangsbereich gesetzt. Essen kam zügig, allerdings war von der gewünschten Schärfe trotz Nachrage «Indian style?» nicht viel zu merken. Das Chicken Saag gut eßbar aber irgendwie langweilig. Da haben wir schon deutlich besser gegessen.

We go out for Indian food quite often. We weren't so happy here because the dishes tasted less aromatic compared to other restaurants. It started with the raita that was served with the papadums (at other restaurants you usually get three dips) and ended with the main courses. I was also annoyed that we were brought to our reserved table by waiter 1, but 5 seconds later - we were still getting down - waitress 2 showed up and quite resolutely wanted to send me away again because there was a reservation here. I explained that we are the reservation and were just placed here. That wasn't enough for the lady, we should get out of here. Waiter 1 noticed this and we were finally able to sit down. I have no idea what that was about, I thought it was weird.

Ich war etwas zurückhaltend, als ich die zahlreichen sehr negativen Bewertungen gelesen hab. Aber wahrscheinlich verreisen hier Leute das Restaurant, die wahrscheinlich selbst Probleme haben, Wasser heiß zu machen. Kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass es hier wirklich ganz schlechtes Essen gibt. Ambiente sehr gut, das Personal etwas distanziert kühl, aber das ist mir letztlich egal. Sehr schnelle Bedienung, auch das Essen dauerte nicht lange. Ich hatte eine Linsensuppe als Vorspeise, die kann man nicht besser machen, ich koche selbst viel, auch asiatisch und indisch und kann das beurteilen. Als Hauptgang hatte ich ein Lammgericht mit Spinatsoße. Gut, das kann natürlich deutlich „indischer“ sein. Aber das Fleisch war butterzart und alles geschmacklich rund. Wir dürfen nicht vergessen, würden wir hier als Europäer wirklich authentisch indische Gerichte serviert bekommen, könnten wir wahrscheinlich keines davon essen und würden es auch nicht vertragen. (Und dann wird sich der deutsche Michel auch noch bitterlich darüber beschweren). Die Inder müssen sich irgendwie in Europa mit ihrer Küche anpassen. Ist sicher nicht einfach. Ich werde hier sicherlich noch einige Gerichte probieren und bin gespannt.
