The food, service, and atmosphere were okay, but a mouse running around was unacceptable. (Now I know where that noise was coming from all evening 🙄) In a restaurant, that's probably a job for exterminator. A mouse is rarely alone.

Not recommended! We spontaneously decided to grab a bite to eat there after shopping. We were greeted politely. The selection was okay. We chose two dishes, which were served on warming plates. The vegetables were overcooked and tasteless. The curry sauce was unidentifiable and inedible. The naan bread was soggy and dripping with oil. It smelled of rancid fat. Only the rice was acceptable. We complained, and the waiter's response was, "That's how it's supposed to be." I've been to India twice and to Indian restaurants countless times, but I've never experienced anything like this. What we found particularly disgusting was that an employee smoked and then immediately touched the dishes and polished glasses. We would have appreciated some accommodating from the restaurant, but their reaction was quite arrogant.

The food is definitely delicious, and the service is top-notch. The portions are so huge, at least for me, that I had half of it packed up. And if someone says that's trashy, I tell them: no, I paid for this and have the right to take everything with me. Besides, the rest would be thrown away. That would be trashy.

The best service and the best quality Indian food one can have at Taj Mahal restaurant. I have been travelling on my business trips in India, Asia, Europe. Always when you are outside India; after few days you miss a taste of India and then try to find Indian restaurants to eat….in European countries; almost in all countries I have tried Indian food….by visiting Indian restaurants….and I found although they say, Indische food, but cousine is managed by non Indians. Hence when you look in deeper, you realise it who is running a business, who are their cooks and staff; how the Raw materials are procured and processed; it matters a lot. And that’s what I find a uniqueness at Taj Mahal!

The food and service were simply outstanding; it tasted amazing. I'd be happy to go back anytime.

Very tasty food. I had the butter chicken with garlic naan & my wife had the rack of lamb from the Easter menu. We have tried many Indian shops in Hamburg so far, but have never had such good Indian food.

Overpriced and flies flying around! Had a tikka mixed grill and they smothered it with cheese sauce! Totally disgusting. Didn't help my meal with loads of flies flying around. Waitress was pleasant but overall very poor.

We ordered homemade cheese as an appetizer, which was definitely not homemade. It tasted like it had just been thawed. The lentil soup tasted burnt, watery, terrible. The mushroom main course tasted like all the mushrooms were very old, rubbery, strangely sweet and sour. Nothing really tasted deliciously Indian. We threw away the food. The single padadam for 90 cents tasted delicious! Still, all in all, today was a very disappointing experience and we will never order from here again. Today was really the very last chance for the Taj Mahal in Ahrensburg and we had already endured many disappointments in the past because we found the staff to be very friendly.

We were there for the lunch buffet. For 11.90 euros there is nothing to complain about. The dishes were delicious, varied and there were always fresh toppings. There was something for every taste. The service could have been a little more attentive. There were no questions as to whether any more drinks were wanted.

We only had tea here and it was extremely tasty. The restaurant has outdoor seating and we sat in the ☀. The service was very friendly. There is also a lunch menu with 5 different dishes to choose from for 11.90 euros. I find it very cheap and we will test it soon. We felt very comfortable here and will be coming back to eat again soon.

Well, it was my first time eating Indian food at the Taj Mahal and I thought it was absolutely delicious! Especially the naan bread, it was just fluffy and buttery. The main course chicken bhuna was simply delicious. I can only recommend.

The lunch buffet was rich enough for the price and very tasty.

Das beste indische Restaurants im Hamburger-Raum! Wir waren zu dritt zum Abendessen und alle waren wir begeistert von Essen! Wir haben Butter Chicken, Lamb Madras und Dal Makhani bestellt. Das Fleisch (Hähnchen und Lamm) war sehr zart und saftig und hat einfach super geschmeckt. Die Linsen waren sehr authentisch. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Ich werde sicherlich öfters vorbeikommen! Danke

Das Essen ist einfach nur Geschmackslos und der Reis wässrig. Nachdem ich im Restaurant anrief, verwiesen diese nur an Lieferando weiter. Wir bestellen nun nicht zum ersten mal bei Taj Mahal, doch heute bin ich maßlos enttäuscht über Service und Leistung. Dafür ist das Essen einfach zu teuer. Bestellt war: 1x Lamm Mogulai, Milde Currysause mit Indischem Käse, Rosinen und Cashewkernen mit Lamm und 2x Chicken Makhani, Hähnchen Tandori Stücke in Tomaten Joghurt Sauce. Außerdem waren in 2 von 3 Essen Haare vorhanden!!!

Wir haben über Restablo bestellt. Mit indischem Essen hatte das wenig zu tun. Das Naan war ein dünner Hefelappen für 3,50€ der Rest hartes und trockenes Hühnchen in jeweils einer anderen Soße. Sorry aber das kann ich nicht weiterempfehlen. Ich empfehle eher einen Kochkurs für den Koch.

Spontan eingekehrt, Chicken Madras bestellt (Sehr einfaches Gericht, Reis und Hühnchen in Tomatensoße, kein Koriander etc....) Das angebotene Brot dazu wurde nachher mit 3,50€ berechnet... Da entfiel das Trinkgeld...

Ich hab so gut wie alle indische Restaurants in Hamburg ausprobiert und das Taj Mahal ist wahrscheinlich das authentischste von allen. Das Essen ist unglaublich lecker und die Bedienung ist auch sehr nett.

Habe das Restaurant zum ersten Mal besucht und war auf Einladung dort. Und es war wirklich sehr schön dort. Der Service war hervorragend. Die Bierauswahl klasse und das Essen war super. Auch auf individuelle Wünsche wurde eingangen. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Knoblauch Naan. Das sowohl als Vorspeise, als auch als Beilage zum Essen. Sehr lecker.

Leider war das Buffet fast leergegessen Und nichts wurde nachgelegt. Vielleicht haben die nie genug Gemüse Und Fleisch. Es war Enttäuschung.

Bisher waren wir immer zufrieden.Heute erstmalig nicht .Weder mit dem Essen,noch mit dem Service.Eine nachbestelle Sauce wurde mit 9€ berechnet - Nein Danke.

Mango Chicken und eine Spezi verzehrt. Trotz Coca Cola Gläser war das bestimmt eine andere Sorte. Mir schmeckte sie jedenfalls nicht. Essen war okay, aber die Sahne in der Mango sauce irritierte. Der Service brauchte leider auch 10min um Ketchup für das Kind zu holen, da ihr die anderen Saucen nicht zusagen. Die Minz sauce wahr sehr joghurt lastig. Man schmeckte die Minze leider kaum raus. Dennoch ganz okay. Das Chutney fand ich hingegen gut. Fakt ist, zum essen suche ich mir lieber nächstes mal etwas anderes

Das Essen war sehr lecker und auch die vegetarische Auswahl nicht schlecht. Zudem ist die Große Straße an einem sonnigen Sonntag auch ein schöner Ort um zu essen.

Mittagsbuffet indiskutabel: pampig, fad, lauwarm - nie wieder!

Lieferung top und Essen war sehr warm/heiß! ABER: Leider wurde ich dieses Mal dennoch enttäuscht. Habe schon öfters dort bestellt und habe bisher immer sehr leckeres Essen gehabt. Ich habe gestern drei unterschiedliche Gerichte bestellt und alle drei haben exakt gleich geschmeckt. Leider waren sie auch viel zu scharf, obwohl wir u.a. ein Gericht mit Curry süß-sauer dabei hatten.. das hat man leider so gar nicht rausgeschmeckt. Sehr schade.. so schnell werde ich dort nicht mehr bestellen.

Das Buffet ist gut und sehr günstig. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich. Die Einrichtung ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen.
