We really enjoyed our dinner there! It was really tasty and filling. There are good veg options given, so you don't need to worry! They also have a warm and welcoming hospitality. So all in all a must visit restaurant if you want to eat North Indian food!

Real Indian food of very good quality, which my Indian wife confirms. Service is courteous, friendly and quick. The waiting time for the food is short, even when the house is full. Visit on Tuesday, December 17th evening from 5:15 p.m My assessment today will be different than usual - it is intended to set an example and show that not everything has to be set in stone and that you also have to accept changes. Thank you Ashis, for your commitment - thank you to your employees and THANK YOU for allowing us to be your guests... :-)) The food was again very tasty and tasty and the overall atmosphere was perfect from start to finish. **************************************************** ******************** There is a place in Bavaria called Dorfen, with a good 15,000 inhabitants, surrounded by beautiful forests and lush meadows. The people who live here are hardworking and stick together. Whenever there was a celebration in the town, the townspeople came to their restaurant “Grüner Baum” - enjoyed the hospitality and had fun and a good mood. But after many years, when the Green Tree no longer kept up with the times, it was closed and stood empty on site for years. In 2018, an Indian family came to Dorfen and wanted to settle there and breathe new life into the restaurant there. The owner Ashis had big plans, as he already owned two other restaurants in the Bavarian area and also wanted to establish Indian gastronomy in Dorfen with his dishes. However, the residents of Dorfen did not agree with the newcomer's plans because they said that this restaurant had always been in Bavarian hands and that they therefore found it difficult to accept changes. But Ashis was not impressed by this and rebuilt the former Green Tree, renaming it “Taj”. Taj means something like palace. This is pronounced like 'Tatsch'. The new restaurateur completely renovated the house and converted it into a beautiful Indian restaurant with some Bavarian accents. The new Indian restaurant “Taj Dorfen” opened in the first quarter of 2018 and has since become popular for its delicious Indian food and good service, even though to this day many Dorfen locals are turning their backs on the restaurant, even though the owner even has the former lettering on the house took over so that he would also like to show the suspicious villagers that he extends his hand to them and is open to others... Today, in 2024, the Indian restaurant is still very popular in the local region and it shows everyone that you have to dare - because if you don't dare, you won't gain anything, no matter how much opposition there is, you shouldn't give up on your dreams prevent this from being realized. And the moral of the story: Show others new ways, even if they are skeptical and don't think anything of it - just convince them of the opposite...

Die Menschen die hier leben sind fleißig und halten zusammen. Die Dorfener Einwohner waren mit den Plänen des Neuankömmling aber nicht einverstanden, da diese sagten, dass diese Gastronomie bisher immer in bayerischer Hand war und sie sich mit Veränderungen daher schwertun. Doch Ashis ließ sich hiervon nicht beeindrucken und baute den ehemaligen Grünen Baum um, mit dem Namen „Taj“. Taj heißt/bedeutet so viel wie Palast. Ausgesprochen wird dies wie ‚Tatsch‘. Der neue Gastronom hat das Haus grundsaniert und daraus ein schönes indisches mit teilweise bayerischen Akzenten versehen und umgebaut. Im ersten Quartal 2018 hat dann das neue indische Restaurant „Taj Dorfen“ eröffnet und beliebt sich seither leckerer indischer Speisen und gutem Service, auch wenn bis heute zahlreiche Einheimische von Dorfen dem Restaurant den Rücken zudrehen, obwohl der Inhaber, sogar den ehemaligen Schriftzug am Haus mit übernommen hat, damit er auch unter den misstrauischen Dorfenern zeigen möchte, dass er ihnen die Hand reicht und offen für andere ist…. Heute 2024 existiert das indische Restaurant immer noch großer Beliebtheit in der dortigen Region und es zeigt allen, dass man etwas wagen muss – denn wer nichts wagt, der nichts gewinnt, auch wenn es noch so viel Gegenwehr gibt, sollte man sich von seinen Träumen nicht abhalten, diese zu verwirklichen. Und die Moral von der Geschichte: Zeige anderen neue Wege auf, auch wenn diese skeptisch sind und nichts davon halten – überzeuge sie einfach vom Gegenteil...

Simply fantastic, whether in Dorfen or Erding. It tastes really good, the people are really friendly and the atmosphere is just fantastic. You immediately feel at home and even in the toilet there is a feel-good atmosphere.

Full marks, but absolutely justified. Pakora still juicy and not soaked in fat. Large portions and every dish actually tastes different. Dessert on the house - carrots, pistachios and butter clarified. Never gotten it anywhere else. Friendly hosts, not an exaggerated atmosphere and everything was clean. Absolutely recommended. We were guests for the first time and will be back.

Very nice and courteous service. We were served quickly and the food was there within 10 minutes, which is really quick. In the meantime, people kept asking if everything was okay, which was very friendly and not intrusive at the same time. Food was very tasty especially for a very fair price. Always happy to go there.

I had the pleasure of dining at this Indian restaurant and all I can say is that it was a wonderful experience. The food was simply delicious – the flavors were vibrant and authentic, and every bite was a delight. I would particularly like to emphasize the cleanliness of the restaurant. Everything was impeccably maintained which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The service was also outstanding. The boss was extremely attentive and took care of our needs without being intrusive. You can tell that hospitality is valued here. All in all, I highly recommend this restaurant. Here you not only get excellent food, but also excellent service in a clean and welcoming atmosphere!

An absolutely amazing restaurant! I've been to many Indian restaurants but none were as good as this one. The service is very polite and attentive and a wonderful atmosphere. A great experience was when the boss brought me ice cream for my birthday with a fire fountain and Happy Birthday was played in the restaurant!

Everything is right here! The food would be the best if the service wasn't almost even better - friendly, personal, simply good 👌🏻 The location is also great: clean, nice and kitschy and well thought out (deodorant, hand cream, perfume, etc. in the toilets). We just moved here and will definitely be regular guests if it stays like this ❤️

Have been coming here for years and have always looked forward to coming back but tonight was awefull. The waiter was just plain rude, rushing us through the evening, coming back every 2 minutes when we asked for time to enjoy a drink and catch up with friends before ordering, trying to remove food we had not finished and clearing the table whilst some were still eating. To make it truely memorable my Mutton Kashmiri was like chewing an old boot. Definitely off my recommended list. Sad but true. Goodbye.

Ich hatte für meinen Geburtstag ein indisches Catering vom TAJ Dorfen bestellt. Professionell und mit viel Liebe wurde das Buffet vorbereitet. Meine Gäste waren alle begeistert von der Qualität des Essens. Alle Gerichte sind auch vegan zu haben. Bislang das beste indische Essen, das ich genießen durfte.

The sun rises. The visit to the Taj last week was balm for body and soul. The service is very friendly and attentive, but also reserved. The food great. Especially the chai and okra. You just feel comfortable and can enjoy.

A very good restaurant with Indian food. The team has created a good restaurant with a nice ambience from the former Green Tree. The food is good to very good, the drinks menu and the menu are outstanding in terms of what they offer. The prices are absolutely reasonable and are based on the local prices for a meal. In my opinion The best feature of this Indian restaurant is the very good rice served with all dishes. The staff is very friendly, greets everyone personally in the entrance area and is helpful in all matters. Food is explained very well.

The Taj is our favorite Indian restaurant, first class service, a beautiful ambience and excellent, authentic food and all at a fair price. Every guest is served free papadum with different sauces before the meal; there is usually an aperitif, as well as a liqueur or a small dessert. The large selection of dishes (including vegetarian ones) leaves nothing to be desired and the chef has a gift for giving each dish his own touch with fine spices. In the warm season you can enjoy eating under the trees outside. Although the road is not too far away, we still feel comfortable. The waiters are courteous, friendly and yet not intrusive.

In the meantime we were there for the fifth time. Friendliness - top, food - great. We will come back.
