SYRTAKI Mühlhausen in Mühlhausen/Thüringen

I was here for lunch, and I'm just a vacationer. I had a gyro from the lunch menu with salad and fries. The food was okay, but the friendliness and attention could be improved. But you need to modernize your restaurant, otherwise customers will stay away. And the lunch menu should also be a good portion; unfortunately, it was more of a snack. Please show a little more love, and then things will work out. Good luck.

Unfortunately, the portions were very small. I haven't experienced anything like that in Greek restaurants. The taste was so-so. The chef is quite funny and relaxed. Unfortunately, they didn't ask whether I enjoyed it. Conclusion: You can do it, but you don't have to.

At 12:45 p.m., we had warmed-up Gyors for Sunday. There was no salt plate or welcome drink either.

Worst Greek restaurant in years. The food is terrible. Chicken soup with Greek noodles – no such thing – vermicelli with instant broth. Baked potatoes – watery jacket potatoes in aluminum foil. Tzatziki – quark with garlic powder...in summary, absolutely disgusting and massively overpriced for the poor quality.

We visited the restaurant in the pedestrian zone opposite St. Mary's Church on a Sunday evening shortly after opening. The owner greeted us warmly and friendly. The menu was extensive, as you would expect from a Greek restaurant. No mention was made of a side salad or standard side dishes. We ordered a dark beer, which was served half-poured into the glass, too warm. Shortly afterward, a man rushed into the restaurant, who later turned out to be a bar staff member. No greeting, a pair of faded jeans that hung lower than desired, and a dirty top immediately caught our eye. Shortly after, our food was served: a plate of ouzo and a plate of Helena. Without even a word of good appetite, we almost lost it when we looked at our plates. The requested side rice consisted of about 2 heaped tablespoons of rice, presumably warmed in the microwave, topped with 2 teaspoons of tomato sauce. The meat, gyro, was completely oversalted, partially grilled black on the outside and dry. Souvlaki, 4 slices, 4-5 mm dry, without typical Greek spices, but without salt. The liver was okay but unseasoned. The suzukakia was very oversalted (half went back). Tzatziki (was it even tzatziki?) flambéed with ouzo, usually served burning at the table - no way. If that happened in the kitchen, we certainly didn't taste it, not even a hint of anise on our tongues. The same thing happened with the other plate, except for the side fries, which were okay. The waitress in the low-hanging jeans came and cleared the plates with the leftovers of the meal without a word ("Was everything okay?" - no way!). We ask to pay, the waiter takes the money ("Was everything okay?" - No luck, maybe he guessed our answer!), we pay the exact amount. And goodbye. Would have given it 0 stars, but the side fries were okay.

The best Greek restaurant I know. Every dish is delicious and always prepared fresh and with love. The atmosphere is cozy, and the chef and his wife are perfect hosts… always friendly and cheerful.

I've never had such bad Greek food. The meat was dry, the fries were dry, as if they had been heated in a microwave. Never again.

The food in the restaurant was truly delicious, no doubt about it. Unfortunately, the condition of the restrooms significantly mars the overall impression. Some toilets were locked, but the visible area underneath was dirty and covered in paper. The floor in the washroom area was sticky and didn't look clean. Considering the prices charged for food, they should invest in hygiene and maintenance. A bit of renovation and more cleanliness would really do the restaurant good.

The outdoor seating is quite nice. The manager was friendly and showed us seats. But then it became annoying over time. The path to the restroom is absolutely creepy and dirty. You can't even imagine how clean the place is otherwise. The food wasn't good compared to a visit last year either. We're definitely not eating here again.

If you want real Greek food, please avoid this Greek restaurant. The Greek chicken soup was instant broth with vegetables. The meat was fried dry, and I've never seen fried onions on tzatziki before, as well as dried roses as decoration. Sorry, it was nothing.

We went there for dinner. Aside from the terribly unfriendly male waitress, the food tasted absolutely nothing. The gyro was oversalted and partially blackened. The bifteki was made from cheap, packaged ground beef, which you could taste right away, and it had a very strange aftertaste (as soon as we got home, the proof was there). The souvlaki was beyond dry, and the tzatziki tasted of nothing either. The male waitress didn't greet us when we entered the restaurant and simply cleared our plates away without asking if we were ready or if everything was okay, just like his female colleague did. We ordered an appetizer but it wasn't brought, and we were charged for it. All in all, it was a very disappointing evening and the last time we'll be there. We haven't even taken into account the drunken dart players who are constantly coming and going.

Tzatziki water, a fries emergency, and warm yogurt – a culinary short break into the absurd I was craving Greece – what I got was a trip to a culinary parallel universe. The tzatziki? So runny, I wasn't sure whether to gargle with it or quench my thirst. The portion of fries would have been considered "symbolic" even in a Happy Meal – three pieces, shyly placed next to each other. They probably still share potatoes based on the time of day here. Conclusion: If you like guessing what you're eating, rarely want fries, and love runny tzatziki, this is the place for you. Everyone else: Google a Greek salad at home.

A place with soul. Not only good food, but also an atmosphere that makes you never want to leave.

Unfortunately, the food (gyros) wasn't good at all. It had no flavor. And it was way too expensive.

Of course you get a 5-star rating...anyone who offers 5-star hospitality simply deserves it...great food, great drinks, and friendly service, you can't help it...the price/performance ratio is superb, I'd say it's second to none...

The Syrtaki in Mühlhausen is an absolute highlight! The owner is very open and personable, making you feel immediately at home. The service is pleasant, friendly, and very attentive. The indoor and outdoor seating is very comfortable, allowing you to relax. The pepperoni appetizer was delicious, a perfect introduction to the meal. The main course was a highlight: the various grilled dishes were generously portioned, and the food was simply delicious. The braised onions with the liver deserve special mention; a real highlight! We can definitely recommend the Syrtaki and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Dusty table decorations, stained tablecloth and decorative fabric. Food was ordered in advance, but there was still a long wait for everyone to get their food. The last dish was served as the first ones had finished eating. Portions are small but filling. The food tasted good.

We were in Mühlhausen for the Plum Blossom Festival and decided to have lunch here. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with both the taste and the service. We're used to getting quite generous portions at Greek restaurants and leaving rather oversatiated. Ordering was a bit choppy. We were asked several times what we had ordered. Special requests were noted, but ultimately not delivered. When we inquired, they weren't able to explain them. It's a shame to receive such poor service at today's prices. Unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant.

Top location with a view of St. Mary's Church. Just lit up in the evening, beautiful. The owner is so full of Greek warmth. This is contagious. He tries to fulfill all wishes. The main meal was ok. Unfortunately, the main course does not include a small starter salad. But if you order it separately, it is very tasty. Just looking at the ambience and hospitality, you'll want to go there more often.

My first and definitely last experience at Syrtaki Greek Restaurant was very disappointing. During my visit, I discovered that the food was served cold and the meat was so tough it resembled a shoe sole. Despite my complaint, the restaurant insisted on charging the full price, with the unsatisfactory response that nothing could be done about it. Even more disappointing was that when I ordered dessert, they didn't point out that they were out of cream. Instead, they charged the full price again without offering any compensation. The entire experience contributed to me feeling uncomfortable at this restaurant. Therefore, I will certainly not be visiting this restaurant again.

My last visit to syrtaki was excellent, especially when Konni conjures up magic in the kitchen again 🫶😋

Worst Greek place we have ever visited :-(

We won't be coming back. We have been guests on and off for over 10 years, but the quality has declined significantly in the last year and reached a low point on our last visit. The portion sizes have been halved, at least half of the dishes are not freshly prepared - they are clearly wholesale products. The fish was hard as rubber and dry, the tzatziki that was also ordered was not served. The grilled vegetables mentioned on the menu only consisted of tomatoes and cucumber. Fried cucumber. Absolutely inedible. Where there used to be 4 large pieces of meat, there were now only 3 tiny ones. But the quality of the meat was ok. Another positive aspect is that the side dishes can be chosen variably. In addition, you usually get a delicious ouzo at the end. The waitresses are always friendly, but there was a tense atmosphere on the last visit. The salad buffet only consists of pickled vegetables, no fresh salad at all. Given the prices, I unfortunately have to say that I cook better at home. People fully understand the constantly rising prices, but quality should not decrease alongside quantity. The owner seemed fake friendly and secretly annoyed. It's a shame, we've always found him to be warm in his dealings with guests. The condition of the toilets was also better. Overall, the restaurant no longer invites you to linger. But if the ratings start to rise again, you should take a look. Potential is there.

It is very cold there in winter. The food was really tasteless, which made me feel really bad afterwards. Open the can, eat on it. Tzatziki has to be edible and homemade, but we were far from that. never again!

Unfortunately, it's difficult for me to say anything positive. The ambience itself was quite dated and seemed worn out. When ordering, we were handed a poorly organized menu, and the drinks part was completely forgotten. When serving, the waiters were friendly but completely overwhelmed (even though the restaurant was not full). The meat on my partner's plate was dry and partly oversalted. Both the tzatziki (which would have to be a sin as a Greek) and the croquettes were apparently bought wholesale at particularly low prices. Although the waiters really tried, they unfortunately couldn't make up for the outdated atmosphere and the food in question.

Das Essen ist TOP wie immer sowie die Bedienung und der Chef! Alle sehr freundlich! Angemessene Preise! Für jeden ist was dabei! Es gibt auch eigene Salat Bedienung, mit vielen verschiedenen Salaten ! Immer gerne wieder ! Ist immer sehr lustig ☺️

Waren auf einer Feier in diesem Restaurant gewesen, lange Rede kurzer Sinn, Essen kalt, Schnäpse warm und die Toiletten unter aller Sau. Empfehlung, eher nicht.

Der Service war sehr freundlich. Was wir vom Essen nicht sagen können. Fleisch, war verbrannt und trocken. Zaziki, gleicht einem einfachen Quark...?! Waren auf der Durchreise und suchten ein griechisches Restaurant mit Mittagstisch. Im Syrtaki wurden wir freundlich begrüßt, bekamen schnell unsere Getränke und Speisen, die Speisen gut zubereitet und reichlich. Der Wirt hatte auch Zeit für eine kleine Unterhaltung. Zum Abschluss gab es noch einen Aufräumen auf Kosten des Hauses. Also alles perfekt.

Wenn man nett und freundlich Essen gehen will, ist dies die beste Adresse. Inhaber freundlich, Kundenwunsch wird gerne erfüllt.
