Update. Went a second time. slow service. They charged us for drinks we didn't order. Going now to Tasty Treats instead. the food is good Far superior to your typical Indian place around here. Was able to walk in on a Saturday with no reservation. Service was fine without being great. Overall very good value

It started well, we got a place for 4 people quite spontaneously, so we were really happy at first. We browsed through the menu and noticed an unpleasant chlorine smell. Drinks and food were selected but it took a while for someone to come to take our order. Some time passed before we were asked again whether we had already ordered food; apparently the piece of paper with the order had been lost. So ordered again. At least the staff was very friendly. After what felt like an eternity our drinks arrived. After what felt like an eternity, the food came. The food was delicious and also plentiful. But the waiting time was really enormous. It's understandable that it takes longer to eat on a Friday evening. But the fact that we had to wait forever before we could even order wasn't true. Drinks in particular are actually quickly prepared and quickly at the table.

I ofently visit swaad, and I must say it was an incredible experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting. Coming to the food, it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was packed with authentic Indian flavors, perfectly spiced, and cooked to perfection. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, the biryani was fragrant and flavorful, and the naan was soft and fresh. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Swaad is a must-visit! Highly recommended!

The food is exceptional, closely resembling the flavors you'd find in India. Hi, we ordered a number of dishes for take away like Palak paneer, chicken tikka and butter chicken. The veggies served with the chicken tikka dish are definitely deep frozen ready made veggies (see photo). The spinach used for the palak paneer seem to be equally ready made deep frozen spinach which in our view is actually a no go. On a lighter note the naan bread and butter chicken was ok although not great.

Definitely not recommended for ordering. This was the second time we ordered here via the homepage, received a confirmation by email and then, after a long wait when we asked by phone, we were told that there would be no delivery that day. There was no notice on the homepage either time.

If I couldn't give stars, I would. I ordered food from Swaad Restaurant at 1:17 p.m. The delivery time was 2:17 p.m. At 2:27 p.m. I called and asked how long it would take. The gentleman from the restaurant told me that the driver had left with the food and would arrive shortly. At 3pm my food still hadn't arrived and no one answered. I mention that I paid for the meal on liferando via Apple Pay. After 4 p.m. a man called me to tell me that my food, which was supposed to arrive two hours ago, was no longer coming. I hope that I can at least get my money back, the amount of 33 euros!!! In summary, I cannot recommend ordering from this restaurant! They remain without money and without food!

A criticism for this restaurant is not so easy to formulate: Everything worked somehow, the lady from the service finally understood us, the food was on the table in 10 minutes and the wine was drinkable. The price-performance ratio is a bit unfavorable!

Der Service war eine einzige Katastrophe. Wir wurden quasi nicht beachtet. Die Krönung war, dass man uns wortlos im vorbeigehen die Rechnung auf den Tisch schmieß. Nach einigen Minuten darauf angesprochen, dass wir weder bedient wurden noch um die Rechnung gebeten haben, wurde mit Unfreundlichkeit und dem Hinweis, dass man schließen würde, quittiert. Die Erfahrung macht ein gutes Essen (aber keineswegs herausragend) nicht wett. Wir werden dieses Lokal nicht mehr besuchen!

1.5 hour wait until you received your food. The two female waitresses were very nice and on the ball, but the manager was a lousy person who only gave orders and served the customers half-heartedly. No hello or thank you when paying. Food itself was very tasty.

Delicious Indian food. We have already found many to be good :). Rich menu. Is in the current gourmet block. We'd love to go there again. The waiter (boss?) has already given us drinks.

The two of us had dinner at Swaad in Darmstadt on a Tuesday evening. The number of guests was manageable, which is why I was a bit surprised by the very slow service; they didn't ask for more drinks once as they were already empty before the main course. The opener was chicken soup, which looked very much like ready-made soup and didn't taste particularly good; at least she was hot. The main course was lamb curry with rice and naan. The naan was cold and in a plastic tray wrapped in aluminum foil; the curry came in a metal bowl with separate rice and at least warm too. I didn't get a fresh spoon either; The used part of the soup was simply taken from the plate and put back on the table. The highlight, however, was when we heard little taps and steps in the false ceiling, you can only guess which animal it was.. The ambience has hardly changed compared to the previous restaurant, just like broken lamps that have not been replaced. When paying there was a change of waiter, he wasn't particularly friendly, he probably came from the kitchen because he was wearing a dirty apron and shirt. Much more was expected for the price of the food. All in all not a good restaurant with bad service and more appearance than reality…

I have been visiting Sawaad ​​Restaurant for years and have always been a big fan of the atmosphere and the quality of the food. Unfortunately my last visit was a bit disappointing. The griddle that I used to love was no longer served on a tray, but just on a plate. This severely detracted from the entire experience for me. Another element that I missed was the characteristic rattle that used to be part of the meal and added a special touch. The food was still tasty, but the changes diminished the charm and tradition I associated with Sawaad. I hope that these aspects will be reconsidered because I would be happy to have an unforgettable experience again. Overall, it was a solid visit, but I'm hoping for improvements on my next visit. I have always appreciated the atmosphere and the quality of what you offer and I hope that these aspects will improve again by my next visit. If this is not the case, I seriously consider reconsidering my loyalty.

The service was an absolute disaster. It took 20 minutes for the drinks to be ordered. Then it took another 35 minutes until the drinks found their way to our table The food was even worse. In total we waited 1:45 hours for our food Unfortunately the rice was far too dry, the rest tasted ok

The ambience was very good. Mr. Puri was really kind and the service was very good. Food reminded me of India. Overall really good experience.

Excellent meals but quite a big downside: the quantity of meat in the dishes is very minimalist for the price! How can I reach my daily protein quota under these conditions? There is really nothing to say about the quality of the dishes and drinks because everything was really excellent (chicken madras, natural nan, mango lassi...). One of the best places to experience Indian food.

Went here on the recommendation of a good friend. My wife didn't feel like eating Indian food, so since my friend recommended it and Google review was also good, we went here for dinner. Unfortunately we were disappointed with both the food and the service. Onion bhaji was more breaded bhaji, was dry and didn't taste like anything. Samosa chat was ok, maybe suited to German tastes, so I wouldn't criticize it. Main course was chicken tikka which was mediocre. It tasted rather sour and in our opinion, yogurt simply suppressed the flavors of other spices. The drink we had was 'homemade' lemonade which was just too sweet. So sweet that even Pepsi was bearably sweeter than soda. The height of the disappointment was when we wanted to pay, the old man cheekily showed my wife the bill and was visibly angry that we wanted to pay by card. All in all it wasn't worth the visit. Ps The nice lady apologized when I told her that our onion bhaji simply had too much breading and didn't taste good.

Have ordered food. Delivery took two hours. Although when we first asked by phone they said it would take another 1-2 minutes. A court was ordered in mild. Unfortunately it was super spicy.

Reservation for 8 people was ignored, but it wasn't a problem as it was very quiet. Bottom tablecloth stained, service subpar (starter plates were simply left for the main course if you didn't give them back aggressively, the table wasn't cleared after the meal, not friendly) Food was mediocre, two dishes ordered at the same time were served as two different ones .

Reservierung für 8 Personen wurde nicht beachtet, war aber kein Problem, da es sehr ruhig war. Untere Tischdecke fleckig, Service unterirdisch ( Vorspeisen Teller wurden einfach für die Hauptspeise stehen lassen, wenn man sie nicht offensiv zurück gab, nach dem Essen wurde der Tisch nicht abgeräumt, nicht freundlich) Essen war mittelmäßig, zwei gleich bestellte Gerichte wurden als zwei Verschiedene serviert.

We can't rate the food and atmosphere at all because it was the worst service ever. Despite a confirmed reservation, the restaurant was closed on Sunday lunchtime and there was a handwritten note on the door saying it wouldn't open until the evening. Since there was no rejection despite leaving contact details, we drove 20 km for nothing! The birthday menu fell through. So be careful if it's going to be an important meal... PS: The operator stopped responding to emails after that. Sorry nil...

I ate here for the first time today with my vegetarian father and my partner. First of all, we noticed the waitress very positively. She has a positive attitude and is very friendly and courteous and works quickly. The starter we ordered was super tasty. Our main courses were absolutely delicious. I had chicken korma, my partner had butter chicken and my father had kadai panner. We can warmly recommend this restaurant. Unfortunately we forgot to take photos of the food. We'd love to come back, even if we have to drive 38km.

I will gladly come again. There is a large menu with some vegetarian dishes. I found what I was looking for and my curry was very aromatic. The portions are also really big, so I was able to take a leftover home with me. My companion's chicken is also said to have tasted very good. Overall really tasty, but it's not quite enough for 5 stars. But I was missing something special in terms of taste and I don't think I would have found that many other options on the menu that I would have wanted to choose. The prices are OK. Especially because the portions are quite large. In the restaurant itself we were warmly welcomed and given good advice. A young waitress served us. Unfortunately we waited over an hour for the food. The naan bread and the subz shahi korma were not that flavorful. Every now and then other guests received a dish with “smoking onions?!”, unfortunately they then sat in the haze of this smoke. A little uncomfortable.

We were there for lunch. At 1 p.m. we were the only guests in the restaurant. Two more tables arrived while we were there. The very cheap lunch including drinks for (9.90) was good so far. So I can't really say much about the food after the first visit... The service staff was friendly, but the nice lady had a cold, which didn't seem very appetizing to us. What the restaurant should definitely work on is hygiene and cleanliness. There was bird poop in the entrance area directly on the steps that led to the restaurant. There were what felt like 100 cigarettes right in front of the entrance area. Maybe sweep before opening. The worst thing for us was that the candles and the set plates at the table were dusty. The flower oasis was also totally dusty. That tells me that no attention is paid to hygiene and cleanliness here.

It used to be incredibly tasty, but unfortunately it has deteriorated considerably. Now rather greasy and unseasoned, a shame!

We had a small family celebration at Swaad. Everything was great. The service was very friendly, the food was delicious. We had vegan, vegetarian, fish, chicken and lamb as well as a starter platter. We will come back in any case!

Fresh ingredients, large portions, beautifully prepared. Service very friendly and accommodating. Absolutely recommended.

The food was really great, I was quite Hungry and tried one dinner time which was more than enough. But prices differ from the google, outside banner of the restaurant and actual price which was higher than the online search. The staffs are really helpful and atmosphere is also great 🎊

Our order simply wasn't delivered. Not waiting even after 2 hours. When we decided to drive to the restaurant, we were “allowed” to eat there. A waiter said the drinks were on the house. But in the end we still paid for everything.

The restaurant was about a third full when we arrived, so the following shouldn't have happened: First they forgot to bring us cards, only two out of five of the drinks were as ordered and could only be corrected in two further attempts, the main course came after 90 minutes, the starter didn't come at all (but it was on the bill). Other guests had to wait just as long and were similarly upset. The supposed boss didn't try to explain or apologize, but at least gave us a drink on the house, hence two stars instead of one for the service. The ambience, including the sanitary facilities, is somewhere between a snack bar and a restaurant. Because the food was very good, there are at least three stars.

Very tasty food, but unfortunately the new menu no longer lists all of the previous dishes. It would be nice if the menu could be updated online. But the portions are really good and very tasty. Basically a great restaurant with good service and great food. We'd love to come back.

Disaster, wrong food and also delivered burnt. With starter and naan bread €25, never more. Absolutely unfriendly on the phone. No. 22 was ordered, the bowl said number 23, which doesn't exist. Burnt chicken with salad.

All in all, the food was OK to good, but the service was rather poor. When we were there there was very little going on. Unfortunately we sat at a table that had food stains. The floor wasn't clean either. The waitress was friendly. I had the Daal Shorba, which tasted strongly of vegetable broth, which unfortunately isn't really authentic. Only later did we order a grill plate, which took over 30 minutes until it was at our table. And with so few customers! However, the grill plate was very tasty and the meat was juicy. However, the rice seemed old or wasn't cooked long enough. We couldn't pay the bill properly - usually the waiter takes the money and gives the rest of the money back. That wasn't the case with us. The waitress took the money, disappeared into the back room and came out a little later without giving us the rest of the money back. So that was the icing on the cake of our experience at this restaurant. When we asked, we still got the remaining money. But it was never meant to come to that. We were also disappointed that there was no chai on the menu. Therefore I cannot understand the reviews here on Google.

Delivery took too long (more than an hour), dishes were no longer warm, two main dishes were delivered incorrectly, a side dish was missing, naan bread was burnt, re-delivery was refused. Very unreasonable on the phone, what a shame.

The young lady who served us was extremely friendly and accommodating, which cannot be said about the very grumpy-looking gentleman who cashed us in the end. He stood at the table panting loudly and presented us with the bill in a very unfriendly tone. That was the only negative point, but we noticed it very unpleasantly. So 5 stars for the friendly young waitress, zero stars for the gentleman.
