Wirklich gutes Restaurant, Essen und Service waren erstklassig.

Ich liebe das Essen. Wir bestellen meistens zum Mitnehmen. Einfach kurz vorher anrufen und abholen. Mega lecker und easy. Wenn euch der Preis teuer vorkommt: die Portionen sind wirklich ordentlich. Finde das passt!

Ich hatte hier ein großartiges Erlebnis. Das Lamm-Ladai war reichhaltig und geschmackvoll, das Käse-Naan weich und perfekt käsig, und das Mango-Lassi frisch und erfrischend. Der Service war wirklich gut – super freundlich, aufmerksam und wir fühlten uns die ganze Zeit über sehr willkommen. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder.

Ein fantastisches Erlebnis im Swaad Restaurant! Das Paneer Tandoori Tikka war perfekt gewürzt und hatte ein rauchiges Aroma, und das Dal Makhani war reichhaltig, cremig und voller Geschmack. Die Waldbier-Limonade war super erfrischend und rundete das Ganze perfekt ab. Neben dem hervorragenden Essen war der Service herzlich und aufmerksam, sodass wir uns sehr willkommen fühlten. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder!

Wir waren nun schon mehrfach dort und das Essen ist ausgezeichnet. Auf Wunsch haben wir sogar ein Fleischgericht in einer etwas anderen vegetarischen Alternative bekommen. Auch die Bedienung ist super freundlich und aufmerksam:)

Wir waren zu zweit an einem Samstagabend bei Swaad essen. Die Begrüßung und die Annahme unserer Reservierung war sehr freundlich. Das Ambiente des Restaurants war sehr gemütlich und ruhig. Als Gruß aus der Küche gab es eine nette Vorspeise😊 Wir haben ein vegetarisches- und ein Hähnchen-Gericht bestellt. Beides war sehr lecker! Die Auswahl an Getränken inkl. Cocktails war ebenfalls sehr gut. Der Service war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen und gut aufgehoben gefühlt!! Klare Empfehlung!

Das Essen ist sehr schlecht, es ist von minderer Qualität, aber das alte Essen ist sehr lecker.

Wir waren heute zu viert hier essen, nachdem wir schon viel Gutes gehört hatten. Zuerst einmal: Die Bedienung war wirklich sehr sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das hat ein sehr angenehmes Ambiente geschaffen. Wir hatten vier verschiedene Hauptspeisen: Zwei mit Fleisch, eine vegetarische, eine vegane und alle waren wirklich superlecker! Auch vom Naan und den Saucen waren wir großer Fan, die sind sehr gut gewesen. Meine Nummer 100 kann ich nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen, das war wirklich ein absoluter Traum! Wir waren begeistert und hatten einen tollen Abend, wurden alle gut satt und werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

Tolles authentisch indisches Restaurant, sehr gutes vegetarisches Essen, mit sogar einigen kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten des Hauses, und was mir ganz besonders gefallen hat und sehr ungewöhnlich für ein Restaurant ist, ist die super Hunde - Freundlichkeit! Unser mittelgroßer Hund bekam gekochtes Hähnchen Fleisch als Leckerli und Wasser mit Kartoffeln! Klasse, vielen Dank dafür! Auch war es sehr nett, daß bei den starken Minusgraden, zusätzlich zur guten Grundwärme, noch ein Heizlüfter am Tisch stand! Wir haben uns rundherum wohl gefühlt mit eurem tollen Service und können euer Swaad nur wärmstens weiter empfehlen!

Sehr leckeres Essen - vor Ort, zum Liefern oder Abholen. Ich habe nur freundliche Erlebnisse hier gehabt und auch Sonderwünschen wurden immer erfüllt. Hält locker mit anderen Indischen Lokalen mit und ist für vieles unser Standard. Seit dem neuen Jahr auch mit Buffet. Empfehlenswert!

Ich hab bei den Butter Chicken und naan bestellet. Hab zuhause gemerkt das die naan noch nicht fertig waren und sehr dick waren. Man hat bei den nur rohes Mehl geschmeckt. Bin da nochmal hingegangen um das zu tauschen hab erneut wieder sehr schlechte naan bekommen. Auf keinen Fall zu empfehlen

Wir waren vom Essen sehr enttäuscht. Wir hatten zwei Lammgerichte, und das Fleisch war zäh und zerging nicht auf der Zunge. Es schmeckte auch nach nichts. Es wirkte, als wäre das Fleisch separat gekocht und dann erst mit den verschiedenen Soßen vermischt worden. Das Naan-Brot war hingegen sehr lecker. Die Kellner lächelten nie. Als wir sagten, wir wollten mit Karte zahlen, antworteten sie: „Oh, sind Sie sicher? Barzahlung wäre besser.“ Nun, nirgends stand, dass das Restaurant keine Kartenzahlung akzeptiert (was tatsächlich der Fall ist), und für den Preis, den wir bezahlt hatten, hatten wir ohnehin kein Bargeld dabei. Wir werden leider nicht wiederkommen.

Alsooo Waren zu zweit mit dem schlemmerblock da, der scheinbar nicht mehr dort gültig ist, weil der Inhaber gewechselt hat. Haben extra vorher noch mal angerufen und gefragt obs okay ist wenn wir kommen, da das restaurant nur noch anderthalb stunden offen hatte. Tischdecke war dreckig , Service hat ganze so laut geatmet dass man ihn von weitem hören konnte (Darth Vader 2.0) , unsere Bestellung wurde gar nicht angehört , da die Bedienung plötzlich anfing den Koch anzuschreien. Danach wurden wir indirekt gedrängt schneller zu essen. Am ende sollten wir unser Essen selber zum mitnehmen einpacken. Mein essen war sehr lecker(50) , das meiner freundin (mango chicken) hat sehr künstlich und süß geschmeckt. Wir haben 10% rabatt bekommen , wegen trinkgeld waren das dann aber auch nur fünf euro die wir gespart haben. Ein mal und nie wieder , es sei denn man mag star wars sehr gerne. Hatten aufjedenfall was zu lachen

Tolles nicht überladenes Ambiente, leckeres Essen und netter Service!

Das Essen war super lecker, die Portionen sind groß wovon jeder satt wird. Super netter Kellner, wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

⚠️ wegen Inhaberwechsel gilt hier der Schlemmerblock nicht mehr! Hätten wir das gewusst wären wir sicher eher nicht hierher gegangen. ABER dann wäre uns tatsächlich ein tolles kulinarisches Erlebnis entgangen. Der Service ist sehr nett und aufmerksam und das Essen kam flott und war köstlich. Wir hatten Butter und Mango chicken und ein tandorir chicken + 2 Vorspeisen. Die Reste die wir nicht verputzt haben wurden uns eingepackt und sogar mit etwas zusätzlichem Reis und leckerer Mango- und Minzsoße aufgepeppt. Sehr gerne wieder und wer nicht hingeht, verpasst definitiv was.

Bedienung sehr nett und das Essen war gut. Was sehr ärgerlich war ist ,dass unser Schlemmerblock nicht anerkannt wurde trotz das es drin stand im Block. Soetwas sollte man auch draußen an die Tür hängen so wie auch draußen stand das ein anderer Besitzer das Restaurant jetzt übernommen hat. Sehr schade, war sehr wenig besucht weil viel rumerzählt wurde, wenn nicht einmal der Schlemmerblock anerkannt wird geh ich da auch nicht mehr hin. Schade🤨 Die Bedienung war sehr nett und freundlich.

Update vom 2.10.: Und wieder einmal waren wir bei Swaad zum Dinner. Leider hat sich die Lokation zum Nachteil entwickelt. Der Service war wie gewohnt super, aber das Essen war in Teilen fad, leider. Angabegemäß gibt es einen neuen Koch der nach unserem Geschmack seine Sache nicht so gut macht wie der Vorgänger. Und Achtung: Schlemmerblock-Gutscheine werden nicht mehr akzeptiert, schade! Das war sehr lecker heute! Die Bedienung war freundlich, alle 4 Gerichte haben vorzüglich geschmeckt (Die Soßen sind hausgemacht, die Köche haben ihr Handwerk in Indien gelernt), Naan-Brot und Mango-Lassi waren perfekt. Einzig die Atmosphäre im Restaurant ist eher zweckmäßig, darüber sehe ich aber bei der Qualität und den angemessenen Preisen gerne hinweg. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

I really wouldn’t recommend this place. We were 12 people, and the food was disappointing. My Mango Paneer had a weird yellow gravy out of just mango pulp from box and no spices—tasted like leftover mango lassi. Not even close to real Indian flavors, definitely not worth the price. Service was slow too. Took an hour, and they brought the rice 15 minutes after the curries. Naan came even later. Also, the staff didn’t seem very polite. Just not a great experience overall.

As an Indian, I would not recommend it. We were a group of 12 people. The gravy of Kadhai Paneer which I ordered was bright yellow, which means just turmeric. I could just see raw pieces of tomatoes. In general, the food quality good. Not satisfied. It wasn't close to the Indian standards and not worth the price. Now coming to serving. They took 1 hour to serve post order. They served dishes first and the rice came 15 mins later. What should we do for 15 mins? Even, the naan took longer. I wish the person who was serving could have been more polite.

Waste of money. I didn't find anything so authentic. I will never ever go here again

The food is really good. The owner and the staff members are really kind and welcoming. I visit this restaurant frequently and the food quality has been consistent. I can really recommend this place especially for north Indian food. I prefer this place over any other Indian restaurant in Darmstadt.

The food was really just tasty enough. I found the portion to be rather small for the price. However, the service was even worse - the waiter seemed very unfriendly, we didn't even get a card even though we were assigned a seat. There was exactly 1 small ice cube floating in my Sprite when the drinks were carelessly placed in front of us. The store was pretty full at the time, but I still think they could have made more of an effort since I wouldn't describe myself as super picky.

As an Indian, I didn't think the food was bad, we had the Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan. It was tasty but there are much better restaurants in Darmstadt. I can recommend the Mango Lassi. As is customary in India, I ate with my hands instead of cutlery and when I went to wash my hands, my fingers turned yellow and didn't change after very thorough washing. This has never happened to me at any other Indian restaurant. We were greeted directly by the owner and he took good care of us, very nice. The restaurant itself is very pretty and pleasant with a nice interior. The toilets were also very clean. However, I only give it two stars because a mouse ran through the restaurant. When we then spoke to the owner, he tried in vain to find the mouse. He explained to us that they often have problems with mice because they seem to like coming to the warm restaurant in the winter. Of course, this shock immediately took away my appetite, unfortunately we had already ordered otherwise I would have left immediately.

It was our first time at Swaad and we generally enjoy eating Indian food. Unfortunately, neither the food, the service nor the ambience convinced us. When we arrived, the table appeared as if it had not been re-prepared since the last guests had visited. The starters were lukewarm, very greasy, the breading dominated and overall we had the feeling of eating frozen food. We then had to wait over an hour until we got the main courses. We have eaten much better in other restaurants for the same price. The prices that can be found online no longer match those on site.

The staff is friendly and some also speak German. Unfortunately, in my opinion, there were very long waiting times for the food. The tablecloth was dirty, initially there was no cutlery and the food was rather "well". A lot of things seemed like finished products and not authentic. Very unfortunate.

Update. Went a second time. slow service. They charged us for drinks we didn't order. Going now to Tasty Treats instead. the food is good Far superior to your typical Indian place around here. Was able to walk in on a Saturday with no reservation. Service was fine without being great. Overall very good value

It started well, we got a place for 4 people quite spontaneously, so we were really happy at first. We browsed through the menu and noticed an unpleasant chlorine smell. Drinks and food were selected but it took a while for someone to come to take our order. Some time passed before we were asked again whether we had already ordered food; apparently the piece of paper with the order had been lost. So ordered again. At least the staff was very friendly. After what felt like an eternity our drinks arrived. After what felt like an eternity, the food came. The food was delicious and also plentiful. But the waiting time was really enormous. It's understandable that it takes longer to eat on a Friday evening. But the fact that we had to wait forever before we could even order wasn't true. Drinks in particular are actually quickly prepared and quickly at the table.

I ofently visit swaad, and I must say it was an incredible experience! The ambiance was warm and inviting. Coming to the food, it was absolutely delicious! Every dish was packed with authentic Indian flavors, perfectly spiced, and cooked to perfection. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, the biryani was fragrant and flavorful, and the naan was soft and fresh. Whether you're a fan of Indian cuisine or trying it for the first time, Swaad is a must-visit! Highly recommended!

Hi, we ordered a number of dishes for take away like Palak paneer, chicken tikka and butter chicken. The veggies served with the chicken tikka dish are definitely deep frozen ready made veggies (see photo). The spinach used for the palak paneer seem to be equally ready made deep frozen spinach which in our view is actually a no go. On a lighter note the naan bread and butter chicken was ok although not great.

Definitely not recommended for ordering. This was the second time we ordered here via the homepage, received a confirmation by email and then, after a long wait when we asked by phone, we were told that there would be no delivery that day. There was no notice on the homepage either time.

If I couldn't give stars, I would. I ordered food from Swaad Restaurant at 1:17 p.m. The delivery time was 2:17 p.m. At 2:27 p.m. I called and asked how long it would take. The gentleman from the restaurant told me that the driver had left with the food and would arrive shortly. At 3pm my food still hadn't arrived and no one answered. I mention that I paid for the meal on liferando via Apple Pay. After 4 p.m. a man called me to tell me that my food, which was supposed to arrive two hours ago, was no longer coming. I hope that I can at least get my money back, the amount of 33 euros!!! In summary, I cannot recommend ordering from this restaurant! They remain without money and without food!

The two of us had dinner at Swaad in Darmstadt on a Tuesday evening. The number of guests was manageable, which is why I was a bit surprised by the very slow service; they didn't ask for more drinks once as they were already empty before the main course. The opener was chicken soup, which looked very much like ready-made soup and didn't taste particularly good; at least she was hot. The main course was lamb curry with rice and naan. The naan was cold and in a plastic tray wrapped in aluminum foil; the curry came in a metal bowl with separate rice and at least warm too. I didn't get a fresh spoon either; The used part of the soup was simply taken from the plate and put back on the table. The highlight, however, was when we heard little taps and steps in the false ceiling, you can only guess which animal it was.. The ambience has hardly changed compared to the previous restaurant, just like broken lamps that have not been replaced. When paying there was a change of waiter, he wasn't particularly friendly, he probably came from the kitchen because he was wearing a dirty apron and shirt. Much more was expected for the price of the food. All in all not a good restaurant with bad service and more appearance than reality…

I have been visiting Sawaad ​​Restaurant for years and have always been a big fan of the atmosphere and the quality of the food. Unfortunately my last visit was a bit disappointing. The griddle that I used to love was no longer served on a tray, but just on a plate. This severely detracted from the entire experience for me. Another element that I missed was the characteristic rattle that used to be part of the meal and added a special touch. The food was still tasty, but the changes diminished the charm and tradition I associated with Sawaad. I hope that these aspects will be reconsidered because I would be happy to have an unforgettable experience again. Overall, it was a solid visit, but I'm hoping for improvements on my next visit. I have always appreciated the atmosphere and the quality of what you offer and I hope that these aspects will improve again by my next visit. If this is not the case, I seriously consider reconsidering my loyalty.

The service was an absolute disaster. It took 20 minutes for the drinks to be ordered. Then it took another 35 minutes until the drinks found their way to our table The food was even worse. In total we waited 1:45 hours for our food Unfortunately the rice was far too dry, the rest tasted ok

Went here on the recommendation of a good friend. My wife didn't feel like eating Indian food, so since my friend recommended it and Google review was also good, we went here for dinner. Unfortunately we were disappointed with both the food and the service. Onion bhaji was more breaded bhaji, was dry and didn't taste like anything. Samosa chat was ok, maybe suited to German tastes, so I wouldn't criticize it. Main course was chicken tikka which was mediocre. It tasted rather sour and in our opinion, yogurt simply suppressed the flavors of other spices. The drink we had was 'homemade' lemonade which was just too sweet. So sweet that even Pepsi was bearably sweeter than soda. The height of the disappointment was when we wanted to pay, the old man cheekily showed my wife the bill and was visibly angry that we wanted to pay by card. All in all it wasn't worth the visit. Ps The nice lady apologized when I told her that our onion bhaji simply had too much breading and didn't taste good.
