The atmosphere and decor are very pleasant and inviting. It's advertised as a Turkish restaurant, but in my opinion, the concept doesn't fully reflect traditional Turkish cuisine. Dishes like Beyti and Çökertme are based on Turkish styles, but the preparation is significantly different. I found the portions rather small for the price. Overall, the food tasted good. The Beyti would have tasted even better if the bread, or rather the yufka, had been fresh and homemade instead of store-bought, but it was still acceptable. The restaurant is well-suited for a pleasant, quiet evening with friends, especially for guests who appreciate a relaxed atmosphere.

The food is wonderful and delicious. We could see the kitchen from our table. They work very clean and organized. We had Ali Nazik, Beyti, Cökertme, Potato Manti, appetizers and Adana. All the appetizers were fresh and delicious. We liked it very much. We will come again :)

We ordered the mixed grill and the köfte – the meat quality was outstanding, everything was cooked to perfection, and the taste was simply superb. The atmosphere is very cozy; you immediately feel at ease. The service was excellent: attentive, quick, and incredibly friendly. I was invited to a business dinner yesterday and was really looking forward to the Turkish cuisine. The restaurant's reviews also looked promising. When we arrived, we were informed that our table, which had been reserved a week earlier, had been given to someone else. Instead, they wanted to seat us in a dark, secluded corner—far from the original ambiance. A waitress tried to correct the mistake, but received only a cold shake of the head from her, presumably the boss. We should settle for the corner seat. So we left and spent a very pleasant evening with excellent food at another restaurant.

When it's very busy, it can get chaotic... If you're expecting annoyed and unfriendly service, you're wrong. The chef (or perhaps even the boss) comes and personally apologizes to all the tables for the long wait. The waiters laugh, are cheerful, apologize, and make you want to come back again, even if you might have to wait a bit, because obviously we weren't the only ones who loved the place! In summary: very tasty, very friendly, and the young Spanish waitress was the highlight of her good mood and cheerfulness. You would have loved to pack her up, she radiated such good cheer. Thank you for this wonderful evening!

We visited this restaurant last year based on a Google recommendation. The service was below average and the food was good, but we didn't think it was good value for money. The main courses and soup were much too small compared to other typical/higher-quality Turkish restaurants. Even bread for the soup was only served upon request. Elsewhere, they offer a fresh bread basket with a few free dips beforehand. Service would have to be requested separately for requests. I suspect that the good reviews are due to the ambiance, which reminds us of upscale Greek restaurants. Due to the lack of alternatives in this part of town, the above-average rating is unfortunately unjustified in my opinion. Overall, there is still potential for a better rating.

Today was our first visit to Sumack. The restaurant has a cozy outdoor terrace on the street, which we didn't mind. The interior is also very nice and cozy. The food was really, really good and highly recommended. There were both vegetarian and delicious meat dishes (beef, lamb) from Turkish cuisine to choose from. We were very satisfied with the delicious dips (hummus, ezme, shakshuka, and many more), as well as the baba ganoush, for example. The main courses (Adana kebab, chicken, or the mixed grill) were all very tasty, juicy, and not overcooked. The price/performance ratio was absolutely right. The service was attentive and friendly; everything came to the table piping hot, and drink requests were quickly fulfilled. All in all, a very nice evening, a great meal, and an absolute recommendation.

Let's be honest, the food lacked a certain oomph. Good quality but needs improvement in terms of seasoning. The advertised Dubai chocolate... consists of 90% dark chocolate that is so hard that you almost couldn't bite through it. Criticism was dismissed by, we assume, the chef, with the words that we were the first ones who didn't like it. He doesn't handle criticism well. It's a shame we were looking forward to a culinary experience that was unfortunately radically destroyed.

The food was sufficient. The Adana Kebab was very finely chopped and grilled dry. This made it taste like meatballs. The decoration is good but overall the experience is not worth the prices.

We had dinner at the Sumack Restaurant on January 31, 2015 and felt very comfortable right from the start. The food (Sumack platter for 2 people) was extremely tasty and very digestible. Before the meal, a variation of various dips with flatbread was served. After the meal, tea was served. The entire team was friendly and very approachable. It was a lovely evening and we would love to come back.

Absolute recommendation! We made an easy reservation in advance at Sumack. A bit inconspicuous from the outside, but the inside of the store is beautifully decorated. The staff is absolutely on point and very friendly and attentive 😀 The house starter was great and something different. Our grill plate for 2 people arrived at the table quickly and was absolutely convincing. High quality meat, great taste. The fries were also something completely different and extremely tasty. For dessert there was chocolate souflet and katmer, both desserts were extremely tasty and well prepared. The price is absolutely fair, and for the quality of food and service it is really good value for money. The boss also came personally and asked whether we were satisfied. We can say, great store! We would love to come back 😉

We were there on October 16th. again in Sumack and were thrilled as always. Modern Turkish cuisine. As a starter we had the scampi pan and the Börek. Then the grill plate - because we couldn't decide and there was something from all the specialties on it. As always, super fried and very tasty. The service and the good manners are also very positive: as soon as there is some quiet in the kitchen, the boss takes the time to get feedback directly from his guests. We'll definitely come back.

We wanted to try many things, and I am glad we did. The mixed dip starter for 2 with hot and fresh Turkish flatbread and the mixed grill for 2 were great choices. We also enjoyed Turkish coffee, tea, and a chocolate dessert with pistachio, tahini, pomegranate, and melon. What a unique and creative treat. The service was exceptional too. My friend and I agree that it was a grand finale for my visit from the US.

This restaurant knows its craft!!! I was looking for a Turkish restaurant that also offers Raki because it was my father's birthday and he loves Turkish cuisine. It was our first visit, but definitely not the last! The three pillars of a successful restaurant - excellent service, high-quality food and an atmospheric ambience - are all met with a grade of A in this restaurant!
